but then middle school came around and you started acting like you had a stick up your ass 24/7 as long as ness was around

you show him your notes and he quickly explains it but is running late on time

he does not text you because he does not have your number... he gave you his number...

so you swallow your pride and shoot him a message, begging for help a second time in the same day and on his end, he laughs at you a little but offers to call

you guys work on the subject for a good couple hours and before you hang up, you offer to study together for future exams because he's admittedly a good teacher

ness is trying to find a way to say "no thanks i don't care about school good luck tho XD ROFL LOLLLLL" but then he realizes that it's going to make his parents trust him a little more

he accepts and you guys go to the library together once a week

he finds that you're actually kind of funny and cool and not just a human bomb that's plotting his death

he tries to be slick about offering to meet more often

"oh... this unit is a lot more difficult than the last one.... you wanna heh.... come back tomorrow? *gulp*"

one day ness told you he was going to try out for bastard munchen and you somewhat knew of them because of ness going on tangents about football

you supported him on it, not realizing it would cut down your weekly meetings

and for alexis, there was a you-shaped-hole in his chest that he tried to fill by training with kaiser and the rest of bastard munchen

yes, the team was filled with dicks, but none of them had the same foul personality you had!!

texts dvery day checking up on each other but it was nothing like hanging out in person

calls were better but still not the same

as soon as he heard about his first off day, he called you and asked to hang out

you tried to be nonchalant about it but who were you kidding both of you guys wanted to see each other again

although the directions of life the two of you were headed towards were almost polar opposites, being reunited at a stupid library table for the first time in months was all that mattered

double byler are so funny (this is actually not funny at all they make me sad) bc both pairs have relationships in which theyre very dependent on each other for emotional comfort so when theyre apart their relationships suffer pretty badly

both jancy and byler have been shown to have a bond based at least partially on shared trauma. w jancy murray even goes as far as to say its like the main reason they shld get together which. hmm. but yk more to my point. and byler constantly have heart to hearts because theyre each others emotional rock and this probably goes back further than UD shit bc wills been TraumaMan for his whole life (and feels mike is the only one who he can be emotionally vulnerable with without being babied or treated like hes weak-s2 kinda suggests mikes been there for him in Will Byers Trauma Times TM before). thanks lonnie😒😒

its v obvious w mike and jonathan actually bc neither of them seem to talk to anyone else about their issues. like will leaves and mike immediately devolves into isolating himself and straight up depression because clearly theres some family issues which prevent him from opening up abt his feelings (he hugs karen like 3 times in the whole show but he Never talks to her abt shit. despite her attempts to get him to open up that one time w her queer coded as fuck lil speech. anyway repressed lil emo mike only ever opens up with will. so no will=no talking abt emotions=unhealthy michael.)

and jonathan turns to weed (and argyle omg theyre bfs so true) because he wont turn to his family for support bc hes unhealthily selfless and doesnt want to burden them with his issues (likely due to the parentification. oh boy someone help him) but he and nancy understand each other bc theyve been through the same shit (which also means they dont feel like they burden each other bc like. u cant burden someone if theyre already sharing the weight yk?) but seperation=losing that support so their relationship, which relies so heavily on that mutual understanding, suffers.

nancy and will are doing a little better individually. because guess what: they have HOBBIES.(jon also does but he seems to have abandoned it. rip his i wanna take a pic era. and mike has d&d but in the between time between oh no wills gone and oh yay eddie my beloved, hes doing shit. and even w d&d his grades are still affected by his mental place and his rooms super messy so like. doing better but still not great.)

we see that wills super into art (which is known to be therapeutic so double woo points) again after doing it less in s3. and he seems to be specifically using it to deal w his sad gay feelings (channelling shit like the introspective king he is 🤩). also hes got people other than mike to offer emotional support. even with jonathan not available, he can still talk to joyce (st character with positive relationship w a parent❗holy shit how rare❗❗). also its will. if hes in his feels hes just gonna vibe with it. 'oh misery my best friend lets hang out for a bit 😍😍' (prolly bc jonathan put his whole jonussy into making sure will was okay w having emotions. as a part of his mission to spite lonnie. SLAY KING) compared to the wheelers who are like 'um what the fuck is an emotion ive never felt one i swear. wdym u saw me crying yesterday🤨?? no u literally didnt that was my evil twin😒.'

anyway that brings me to nancy. who. yk shes doing Okay. the second anyone brings up jon shes about to commit crimes against them so yk not totally good but coping. bc she kinda just full body throws herself at that school newspaper stuff so she has a distraction and its working okay. until her new friend-w-glasses-destined-to-die- horrifically, dies horrifically.

but then she has emotional support through surrounding herself w people who Get It. (woooo robins around and nancy feels comfortable for once!!!!) i mean shes also almost reverting to steve bc nancys trauma response is just 'i can only ever be emotionally vulnerable with romantic partners bc i havent had a friend since s1 and my family dont know shit abt the monster dimension (plus ted is actually just a cardboard cutout with a robotic voice box that blurts out 1 of 10 phrases on a timer). apart from mike. but idk hes busy crying over his bf and we can never open up to each other in a genuine way bc repression is the Wheeler Way To Slay' but yk shes at least partially coping.

but their relationships basically get totally fucked bc oh no if we cant have heart to hearts in physical proximity we are going to Die. also communication without magical telepathy through eye contact??? whos she??? (esp w byler. u cant have effective coded conversations over the phone. and theyve got all their other reasons for not talking: will doesnt wanna reach out first and have mike brush him off bc oh dear the 3x03 fight really fucked with him didnt it. and mikes desperately trying to call but for fuck sake how is their phone always busy. and he wont use letters bc idk hes too gay for that he keeps signing them w 'love mike. ps im in love w u in case u didnt get that😍😍😍')

BUT. seperation fucks over their relationships and their individual mental health. and thats where the unhealthy aspect comes in. bc over reliance on one person is gonna Fuck Shit Up. (it wouldnt be so bad if they still communicated regularly thru letters and phone calls but yk self hatred is a bitch and theyre all very insecure.)

christmas scenario. tenya iida x reader. no warnings, just fluff.

blah blah blah you know the drill. i’ll put a cut on this tomorrow because it’s way longer than i intended (as always!)

christmas eve with tenya iida goes a little something like this.

when heroes rest, villains rise, which... is why tenya’s working christmas eve. he tried so hard to be home at a decent time, but as the hours go by, you sadly accept the fact that the bed next to you is going to be as cold as the snow tonight. on christmas eve.

it’s about 8pm, and christmas music plays softly through your shared apartment while you clean up the dinner you made for the two of you, but enjoyed alone while talking to tenya over the phone.

“you’re sure you can’t come home?” you ask for what feels like the millionth time.

he sighs, “honey, if i could be home, i would be. you know that.”

“they can keep you at the office even on christmas eve? what paperwork is that important, tenya?”

“paperwork that makes sure that bad people are taken care of and kept away from good people. i know it seems unimportant, but it’s all relev-“

a sigh from your end of the line makes him fall silent. “i understand, honey. just come to bed when you get come, okay? i don’t want you sleeping on the couch on christmas eve. that’s just too sad.”

“i will, my love, i promise.”

“okay. i love you, tenya.”

you hang up and set down the phone before walking to the hallway closet where tenya’s presents are hidden underneath a pile of towels. you grab them and carefully set them underneath the tree, giddy at the thought of opening them with tenya the next morning.

just as you get lost in the thought of your first christmas together in your first apartment together, there’s a firm knock at your door.

it’s way too late to be the mail, you thought. and.. izuku, ochaco, and shoto already dropped off their gifts earlier, so it can’t be any of them. who the hell is at my door at 8 o’clock at night?

it’s too dark to see through the small hole in the door, so you call through nervously, “who is it?”

a low, gruff voice says back “santa!”

you thank GOD that you have tenya’s number on speed dial, because tonight was not the night for a run-in with some creep pretending to be santa.

it rings once, before you notice the sound coming from the other side of the door.

you press your ear against the door, realizing that it’s tenya’s ringtone.

you quickly swing open the door only to be greeted by tenya iida himself, smiling with arms wide and ready.

first, you jump into his arms and pepper his face with kisses before pulling back.

“TENYA!! YOU SCARED ME!!”

through his laughter, he says “i’m sorry, honey, even though i am flattered that you called me before the police.”

“oh shut up. were you already on the way home when we hung up?”

“i was already outside the building.”

“tenya!”

“i wanted to surprise you! and judging by the way you greeted me.. i’d say that you enjoyed the surprise!”

“of course i enjoyed the surprise, it’s you, after all. now get in some comfy clothes so i can show you what christmas is all about.”

“and what’s that?” he quirks an eyebrow in your direction, clearly not catching on.

“pajama pants, hot chocolate, and shitty movies, of course. plus, since it’s christmas eve, you get to open one of your gifts.”

“really? you don’t want to wait until tomorrow?”

“no way! it’s only one gift, anyway. now go get your work clothes off so you can make up for your christmas eve lies by cuddling me!!” you tease.

he laughs, “okay, okay, fine. i’ll be back in a minute.”

when he gets back, you sit on the floor in your flannel pajama pants in front of the christmas tree.

tenya, eager to follow the rules, insists that you exchange only a single gift.

he opens his first, and finds a signed copy of his favorite novel from when he was young. he wonders how you possibly obtained this incredibly rare object from its elusive author and you tease “you’re santa, shouldn’t you know that already?”

you go next, unwrapping the silver wrapping paper to unveil a framed photo. the sleek, black frame contains a photo of the two of you at UA, back when you were just classmates. you’re sitting on the bleachers next to each other, and tenya was clearly forced to take the photo against his will, but he smiled anyway.

your smiles are young and bright, and tenya’s cheeks are dusted pink at the way you lean close to him (even if you were already in frame before.) due to his massive crush that never went away, he didn’t mind the proximity then, and he definitely doesn’t mind how you pull him into a kiss to hide the tears that flood your eyes.

and when he sips his hot chocolate, looking at you from behind fogged-up glasses, you can’t help but think how you can’t wait to do this forever.

“merry christmas eve, tenya. i’m so glad you’re home.”

• For some reason, this pairing just felt super natural for me. Like you and Michael just make sense together. 

• All women are queens, in Michael’s eyes, but he finds you incredibly intoxicating. Michael loves your generous curves, and finds your body to be absolute perfection. He thinks you’re gorgeous just the way you are, and there are barely any moments where he can’t keep his hands off of you.

OMG HI paimon anon back and ummm ive had the dynamic of lumine noelle xinyan and barbara on the mind!!! i feel like they all can relate to the feeling of being isolated and not good enough - and that the other 3 would be all for helping lumine find her way back to her brother.

xinyan and barbara would have befriended noelle beforehand i think, and got her to be a little more confident about her voice! and the more they travel with lumine, the more lumine falls into the habit of humming along and singing with them. and, occasionally, i feel like she'd let herself have some relief from her unstrayable path to find her brother and just... enjoy time with her friends. enjoy time singing to others with them, or playing the guitar with xinyan, or drilling noelle about the knights of favonius rulebook to help her!

and while they do occasionally fight (xinyan and barbara more than the others) i feel like they'd all be really close yk! and maybe consider eachother sisters, too :]

oh oh oh and bennett fischl razor + klee and zhongli is a really funny idea too!!!

sorry these aren't really headcanons but more me rambling about dynamics HAHAHA but its still fun </3 i think the dynamics of ever are the band and kaeya + diluc trying to wrangle klee

aww you know i've been thinking a lot about xinyan! i used to main her for a while (though i had to give her claymore to diluc in the end :<) and lament the fact that there isn't much official content for her outside of her collected miscellany and splash art :( i hope mihoyo gives her a hangout or something!! i adore xinyan :D

but going on to your hcs, AAA WHAT I WOULDN'T DO TO SEE THIS!!!! these three girls understand better than most what it's like to be an outsider or not be where you want to be in life and they'd really help lumine (or aether!) they'd give each other new ideas to expand upon (barbara seems to be more conservative while xinyan is open to exploring and testing boundaries so their sisterly dynamic would be so cool!!! :D)

any time i make a team that has either razor, benny, or fischl, i make sure to add the other two because to me they're best friends and should never be separated!!! LOL but zhongli in that team would be the doting grandpa figure that can also be super scary and protective of them should the time call for it :D and klee?? that's just the babysitter's club at that point hehehe but i think benny and razor would have tons of fun fishblasting with klee (razor gets to eat the meat after and bennet is just glad to have people to have fun with !!!) all while fischl is probably in the background giving a monologue about the importance of fish conservation LOL

don't worry!! these dynamics were so sweet i had a great time imagining them hehe >:) i'll share one of my favorite dynamics! the mondstat siblings: barbara, jean, kaeya, and diluc! on one hand you'd have barbara and jean acting amicably and barbara trying to get jean to loosen up while on the other hand diluc is awkwardly skirting around kaeya's teasing remarks and kaeya is trying to establish a bond with diluc again. idk what it is about this dynamic but it's so sweet to me!! :D
