Hii, can you write a story about my theory for the bathroom couches

"...ty-one!"

There was a series of frowns at that, the gang momentarily lifting their heads from what they'd been doing to shoot each other suspicious glances. Clearly it hadn't been any of them who'd done the talking - the voice was strangely distant and, somehow even more strangely, excited - but still, the sentiment remained.

"I-I'm sorry?" Hannah said after a moment, glancing up towards the ceiling as if it'd been some higher power to shout at them.

And then, making all the noise of a suit of armor come to life, Mike came barrelling down the lodge's staircase, sock-sliding across the great room's hardwood until he bumped against the sectional. "Thirty-ooone," he repeated, bracing himself against the back of the couch. "That's how many fucking couches you guys got in this place, you know that? What gives?"

Hannah's head was instantly in her hands. "Oh God."

"Yeah, y'know...I've been wondering about that too," Sam said slowly, setting down her big book of crossword puzzles to glance around the lodge instead, the tally in her head almost visible as she counted couch after couch. "I mean. I guess I figured it was because, uh...ski lodge. Company. That kind of thing. But...you guys do have a lot."

"And the one in the bathroom?!" Emily cut in. "The one in the bathroom is pretty heinous."

Instead of bothering to deal with their chatter individually, Beth heaved a sigh and raised her voice, speaking up over them as if she didn't care. She also continued smashing buttons on her controller as if she didn't care. And her eyes? On the tv, baby. Like she didn't care. (Spoiler: She didn't). "Once upon a time," she began, "there was this wormy little kid named Josh."

"Wormy, huh?" he asked, offhandedly at best, hunched over with his elbows on his knees as he pulled off another sick combo on-screen. "That's a new one."

"The thing about Josh," Beth continued, paying him literally no attention as she wrung his health bar dry, "was he never slept."

"Still don't! It's one of my fun little quirks. Gives me personality."

"And it took Mom and Dad forever to figure out, but - " she paused long enough to wrench her body to the side as if it would help her character dodge, and, miraculously, it did, " - eventually they noticed he'd conk out on a couch even if he wouldn't fall asleep in bed."

"Know where monsters like hiding, B? Under beds. Know what you never hear about? Monsters hiding under couches."

Tapping her pencil against her crossword book, Sam scrunched her mouth together. It was a good point. She didn't say that part out loud. A quick glance around the great room told her the others were thinking the same.

"So," Beth kept saying, "Mom, being the worry-wort she is, filled this place with couches just in case little Joshy needed a little nappy-nap. And Dad, ever-resourceful, used the ski lodge excuse every time so he could get a tax write-off or something, I don't know. It sort of snowballed. Our family isn't really known for, like, restraint."

"No," Emily pretended to gasp. "The family that bought a whole goddamn mountain? You don't say."

"...and the one in the bathroom?" Mike repeated, his emphasis clear. "Please...please don't tell me you were napping in the bathroom, dude. There...there have to be limits."

"Tub takes an awful long time to fill, my man. Anyone would get sleepy waiting for that shit."

On the other side of the sectional, having until-then been silent, Jess let out a huge, whooping sigh of relief. "Oh thank Gawwwwwd," she groaned, dramatically slumping across the cushions. "I was so sure it was gonna be some weird pervvy sex thing."

"It can be both," Beth and Josh said in unison, deadpan and only half-paying attention as they kept playing their game. Joke or not, it was too much for poor Hannah, who slid off the couch altogether, moaning and groaning and huddling onto a ball of mortification on the floor.

hello hello! I am insufferable :D (this is really long sorry-)

imagine jimmy and tango so exhausted from rebuilding the ranch and collecting resources for it that the only time they are really together is when they fall into bed and pass out immediately

but jimmy’s hands are still badly burnt from when he was restraining tango, and all that building has Not Helped, but he didn’t stop until tango essentially dragged him away, because of course he felt how much his soulmate was hurting

jimmy kept trying to sneak away when tango wasn’t paying attention (“we don’t have any good armour, we need at least one layer of defence!”) so tango came up with the better plan of just laying on jimmy

it started out as a last-ditch attempt to keep jimmy resting. tango fully expected jimmy to push him off, but instead jimmy just sort of froze in surprise before relaxing into it—it’s at that point where tango realises jimmy is The Most touchstarved person in the world, ever, and will do pretty much anything for cuddles

so what does one do with this information? abuse it, of course!

even after jimmy’s hands have healed (wounds like that heal fast on life games—They find it boring when one person is unable to do anything because of an injury) tango insists on cuddle sessions every afternoon, something jimmy is obviously trying to pretend he doesn’t like as much as he does

tango spends most of the time teasing jimmy about how sweet he is, what with how his will crumbles every time tango asks him for something if he’s holding jimmy’s hand at the same time. so you can imagine jimmy’s delight when he found out tango purrs

they’re especially tired after the whole warden ordeal, both half asleep in each other’s arms. tango has his nose pressed against jimmy’s neck as he rests his head on jimmy’s shoulder, jimmy with his wings around them both.

jimmy blinks sleepily and smiles at tango, who looks like he is about to pass out right there. he moves his head slowly, as to not disturb him, and presses a kiss to his hair.

he almost yelps as he hears a low rumbling, expecting it to be the warden or pearl’s dogs, but as he listens, he realises it’s much too soft to be something aggressive.

for a second, jimmy is utterly confused as to where the noise is coming from. then, he turns back to tango and notices how his throat—currently pressed against his shoulder—has begun to vibrate.

jimmy presses a hand to his mouth to keep from laughing in delight. tango, mr ‘i’m going to bring the warden from the deep dark’, resident redstone mad scientist, creator of decked out, is purring.

“tango,” jimmy whispers gently. “hey, tango.”

tango cracks an eye open, and wow he really is a large cat. “mm?”

“you didn’t tell me you purred.” jimmy grins.

“wha..?” tango does not look awake enough to understand anything.

“you’re purring.”

tango just blinks for a moment, before apparently processing what jimmy just said and going bright pink. “oh! oh, no- I wasn’t- y’see, I just-“

“I kissed your head and you started purring!” jimmy exclaims, partially to tease him and partially because it is, in all honesty, adorable.

“yeah, well,” tango mumbles, trying (and failing) to hide his face. “… shut up.”

“tango, I am never going to shut up about this.”

HI THIS HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY ASKS FOR MONTHS AND I JUST KEEP RE-READING IT INSTEAD OF POSTING IT.

I don't know if I've ever actually written it, but I'm in love with a tango who purrs. I've assigned this man so many silly cat traits it's starting to get ridiculous. He's got his cat-ish eyes and tail, his purring, his teeth, though there's a special place in my heart for my lovely mutual Theo's hc of something inside him literally glowing, him being toasty warm, and a collective headcanon of him needing his blaze-rod crown to stay energized during the life games. I could go on and on about blazeborn and tango, please hold me back.

And jimmy who won't admit that he enjoys the attention but won't ever say no to it, i adore him. I think about the ranch burning way more than I should for it being a year ago, there's just so much to unpack in relation to what DL was for jimmy as a character.

Also:

Despite his southern charm, Callum is actually more introverted than anything. He puts on a good face when he visits Pierre’s or is dropping off item requests, but outside of that he generally keeps to himself. Really values alone time! He even spent most of his first month in Pelican Town just on the farm, only leaving when he really needed things

He’s a fall girlie through and through!! It’s the perfect blend of cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. Plus, fall was usually the time of year he visited his grandfather when he was a kid, so he’s got a sort of childlike nostalgia for the (best) season :’)

Evelyn was the first he really connected with in an unfamiliar place. She reminds him a lot of his late grandmother and really takes comfort in that. Evelyn also helped him open up to meeting more people!

Linus was an odd guy to Callum at first, but the more time he spent lake fishing, the more they chatted. Callum really admires Linus and his ability to live so happily despite how it’s perceived by others. It’s something he wants to incorporate more into his own life :)

Gus and him are more like pals than anything. Gus would often listen to Callum grumble and complain over a cold beer about his struggles with the farm and getting started. It was a nice chance to unload some stress, and Gus would often give him some simple but delicious recipes to take home at the end of a long night

Clover revived, but they get revived at the worst time ever when it's a geno frisk, and it turns to geno frisk chasing down clover like how you chase axis in genocide and ends up with a showdown in the wild east with a tired injured clover

I loved your fic sm <33 😭 I really enjoyed reading it !! It had such an interesting plot that I genuinely thought I was reading a published novel...I was immediately spamming "next chapter" at the end of each one!!

For me, since I am not part of the fandom, I didn't know the characters so they were more like ocs to me but their personalities and dynamics were very clear through your writing :D

I am pretty sure I would love it even more if I was in the fandom and actually knew the characters (which means I must get into it now :D) but regardless I have grown to love them bc of your writing ^_^

Also I am a sucker for riddles and prophecies...so the moment the prophecy was revealed I was sold <3 and it was really satisfying when it was completely resolved :D

Yes! She is Hispanic and Native (hi Shane and Ash), and does have some superstitions from that, such as good ol' ojo there and red hair being indicative of strength. "Ghosts" no, spirits maybe. She likes to think people are still around, but only debatably believes it. Tarot and astrology are nothing but pretty, though.
