Mermaid Luchia on a Surfboard

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Art © CentaurWorks Character: Lucia Nanami © Pink Hanamori, Michiko Yokote This was an idea I've had for YEARS, ever since I saw promo art featuring Kaito on his board and Luchia, as well as the surfboard she would or was suppose to get. So, I decided to just create it and finally make it into a reality! I was worried at first more so getting the colors and the design right. Getting the water and wave right was also so important to me as without it the feel would be so off. This was also the first one where I went back and forth with using the PC and my new tablet, making the process go a little bit fasterand helping out a LOT to reach the overall finish line.

I can officially announce that I was a part of this Zine! I was able to contribute an art piece featuring one of my characters turned into a Mermaid.

Double-Tuna Dared and Merchanged

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Characters (Sakura Izumi, Cynthia Chuseio) © @CentaurWorks Sakura and Cynthia were dared by their friends to see how long they could last before they turned into their merform. Cynthia happily agreed and dragged Sakura into it. At first, they thought they were lucky, feeling like they were resisting the magic for a few seconds. Until they were caught off guard and transformed while standing. The two began frantically waving their arms, Sakrua looking embarrassed by the change and how she can't use any magic to keep her from falling face first, while Cynthia thought they might have had more time before changing. Either way, one way or another, they're going to fully soaked by the ocean. While looking at H2O gifs on Tumblr (there is or was an account that kept posting gifs from the show), I ended up getting the idea from seeing something similar from one of the earlier episodes in season 1. It's a fun scene and I wanted to put Cynthia and Sakura in that scenario. It was nice getting kinda down how the magic change looks for the two, sure it might alter again but I do really like how this came out with the decaying spiral and the magic rim. It was also a really good idea to have the merform and the swimsuits on a different folder layer. Almost forget to do the flapping arms effect since this piece was on and off for a few weeks, but it helped so much with them trying to frantically keep standing.

[COMM] MerSparring in the Sea

It's sort of connected to the past commissions with Samus and Chie but with Makoto now in the frey! Inspired by previous images, I wanted to have the camera angle be similar so the ground would be more at an angle since they are underwater. That was also the reason for Chie being at that angle too, a bit of Zero-G inspiration. If you like it, leave a comment! 😄

Mavis In The Sea

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Art © CentaurWorks Character (Mavis) © Mavis DeLuna Mavis ended up being one of the first people I followed when I entered BlueSky, I believe it was just a quick search of "VTuber" or probably mermaid VTuber related. I've checked out Mavis's content here and there and I find it quite fun when I stop in every now and again. So for mermay, since I go for Merfolk Vtuber fanart I wanted to draw Mermaid Mavis. I wanted to be careful and as respectful as I could going by Mavis's Fanart guidlines. And while I am really happy with the end result, let me know if there's anything I missed. I'm just really happy with how the shine came out here as well as how the sleeves turned out, it was a small but cool challenge. Same goes for the bra, as I noticed sort of similar effects on the model's bra.

Imouri-Chan Mermaid

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Art © CentaurWorks Imori-Chan © IMOURI Back in 2023, I ended up encountering the people that run Imouri through a convention I like to help out with. I ended up really gravitating to it due to selling rather unique merch that stood out from the crowd there. I still like to order merch from then today. So when planning out 2024, this was the first fanart piece I planned out and wanted to make. It's more simple compated to others but I still love how it came out. The base colors just work so well, I love how the eyes came out too! The decision to use an orcatail was based on the leggings of the original design. The shellbra under the shirt was a spir of the moment but feels quite different.

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Character (Syra) © @CentaurWorks Traveling to different parts of the galaxy can be exhausting. For Syra, she often 'swims' from solar system to system; sometimes taking ships and cruisers from the Federation to sectors. But somedays Syra relaxes and lets the ocean of space take her, at least for a little while So here is an idea bouncing about for a while. I always wanted Syra relaxing within the ocean of stars, when scheduling out the art ideas, this had to get on the list especially since I felt much better when it came to lighting. The harder parts was making sure it looked like she was just hovering calmly on the water, with the stars behind her. Using a previous image this hear helped with getting Syra's face right. I mainly used a semi-transparent mask to help get the impression of Syra in the water. Making sure the glows from her reflected on the water felt paramount, and it helps sells the setting so much well! I'm so happy with how this came out, you have no idea.

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Characters (Michiko Hato, Robin Kage) © @CentaurWorks On Valentine's Night, Robin took Michiko on a special date. As the night grew, the two got closer to shore and rested on a rock while looking at the night sky. Even after the water changed them into their merforms, the two looked at each other lovingly before kissing each other on this precious night. Back to the annual Be My Valentine! I wanted to do one with Michiko and Robin since I feel like I don't have much of the two compared to others. (Could be off but didn't look too deep into it.) I wanted to do one with them on the shoreline and kising each other. Of course, I wanted to make sure that I had the hearts and wanted to have the shoreline with the glowing algee. A late edition was more of the shooting stars around each other, I feel like that adds a unique romantic vibe.

[ZINE] Lonan's Magical Incident

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Character (Lonan Nathanial) © CentaurWorks Lonan often practices her magic, trying to get better and better until being the best at magic. She recently found a book of magic, one of many within her kingdom's libraries but this one looked so different to her. Within the evening, she made plans to try to use the spell. Opening the pages, she began reading the words as a way to practice for the full spell, unaware that reading the words only activated the spell. A rush of magical water poured out and surrounded her. In a matter of seconds her clothes teared away, legs joining to become a fish-like tail, Lonan did not expect to become a mermaid, tho one may say to be more careful around magic. This was created for the DOTNOMICON: GRIMOIRE OF WONDERS Zine (released in February 14th, 2024). I ended up going with Lonan due to a past image involving her magical mishap and Im thought "Let me rope her into it!" The design of the mermaid form is based on her older sister's Kira's mermaid form with a little bit of flares of her own personality. The torn clothes was something I decided to do along with the glowing water and waves. I ended up doing a lot of experimentation, with the splash particles and the dust used to form the clothes. The background is originally done in Affininity Designer to try to make the easier to edit the text before editing it, as well as making the unique watermark.

Kitami with the Healing Touch

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Character (Kitami Hato) © @CentaurWorks Kitami as a healer. By day she is often healing those with minor injuries, infected wounds, light sicknesses, or in an extreme instance helping a patient stay stable during a surgery. She maybe known as the wife of a former human to her coworkers, but she is incredibly proud of her skills with her healing magic. Sure, she might not be the star or the popular one, but she's happy to just try to help those the best she can. It's that time of the year once more, to celebrate the creation of the first ever Original Character of mine. And when doing so this year, I realized I never really depicted her using her magic. That sounds weird but yeah, no other images shows her using it. Luckily with making the element icons years ago I had a stronger idea of what to make with her magic. Went with a classic underwater scene with some new brushes involved. I also made Kitami's tail a little redder due to the original color looking a little off and too light in a bland way. Tho I'm SOOO happy with the eyes, complete MM-style eyes but they look so beautiful! And the magic, it's nature/greenery inspired but looks so beautilful and... well.. magical!

[COMM] Princesses sharing a night

This time, it's of the Princess/Veronica again but as a Melody-style mermaid along side Lucia from Mermaid Melody. This ended up being inspired by Mermaid Princess in the Moonlight, but instead two mermaids having a conversation at the moonlight. I think I'm just really proud of hoiw the shading came out here with the rim lighting of the moon behind the two. It was also fun to make a mermaid design for the character I just custom made. XD     Hope you like it! :D

Claudia's First Mermaid Emergence

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Character (Claudia Synderson) © @CentaurWorks While Claudia and Aaron were traveling the US, they stopped at a costal town focused on fishing. While enjoying the food and culture, they found out a merfolk is destroying and put the town's livelyhood in jepordy. At first, the two were no match for the merfolk's magic and no good at water combat. Days later, Claudia was trying her best to form her Mermaid form. She finally was able to do so, splashing out of the water in joy, before finally winning against the rouge merfolk. This felt so ambitious yet both an idea I've had for a while and and for the OC Ballot winner. I knew I wanted Claudia depicted in her merform form as if it was the first time, the background and foreground splash were a struggle. I ended up making the background sort of fisheye'd lens which I think elevated the piece. I also adore the little Aaron in the corner, felt like that was very needed given the lore. Tho I am the most proud of the shading, it came out absolutely gorgeous and really help make this piece so great! There are some elements covered but I feel like the whole piece came together in the end to make something well Magical!

Shantae Advance Forward

Commissions Open I have a Ko-Fi Social Medias Art © @CentaurWorks Character © Matt Bozon/WayForward     As soon as Shantae Adbance was announced, I wanted to do fanart of my favorite video game character. I was also making this at a time when I was drained when it came to art and IRL. But drawing this really helped me get my groove back. I went with a big pop-py theme, slightly inspired by Dragalia Lost while trying to keep the excitement I felt for this game's announcement. Replicating the style scene on the promo material was a lot of fun too! I did have plans for including sprites of the characters, but I did not have the passion to add it in. But I really enjoyed working on this a lot.
