I should have expected it for a movie from the 80s, but The Transformers the movie has a *ton* of flashing lights in just the opening so far and probably more throughout the movie I assume, so watch with caution

Before he was an executive producer, he wrote comics and screenplays. One of the things Roger Slifer worked on was the 1986 movie.

TRANSFORMERS OC: Omen of Unicron Alt: Unicronian Hearse
A survivor of Unicron's apocalypse in the light of the Matrix of Leadership. She cares for his dead - including Unicron himself, what's left of him.
Bestie and I watched the G1 movie together and we’ve been having fun developing Unicron as an occupied planet with his own people besides Galvatron, Scourge, Cyclonus and their repaints; particularly in the tone/context of JG1, because Unicron would’ve gotten to be sympathetic if Kaneda-sensei had been given Unicron as a character to write for
Omen’s alt is based on a Japanese Buddhist-style hearse, and the gold cracks throughout her chassis is based on the kintsugi method of fixing broken pottery!
Also her shrine spawns and despawns when she transforms like Optimus’ trailer because I’m not figuring out how that shit transforms lmfao

Wearing a thong is really nice, and I try to ignore the number of X's that preface the L. The biggest size available to me makes me feel good in my body, and that's all that matters.
I have started appreciating my love handles as that's where the waistband of the thong hugs. I like it. I feel good. I feel pretty.
Thongs are gender affirming to me. I hated them when I labeled myself as "woman" or "woman adjacent".
This is not a porn blog. Do not sexualize my gender identity. If you want to support me or my work, head to -> @soft-pink-switch

Dang - that scene still makes me wince.
Me, sharing my single piece of cinematic trivia:
You know in this scene Starscream actually broke his foot for real but they kept filming

Cybertronian society seems so fascinating to me and it’s a shame it doesn’t tend to get explored much in Transformers shows! (Or at least, not the ones I have watched so far)
Afaik the comics go more in-depth into it which I am so excited to get to but the only show I’ve seen that actually has a decent chunk of it set on Cybertron is Cyberverse and even then, that was post-war.
But just. The concept of a society of transforming robots on a planet made almost entirely of metal and their creator deity’s body, with such insane size differences between characters is so interesting! Like, you can’t really standardise anything when one guy is 4 meters tall and another is closer to 40! And this is a species that does not reproduce by itself but rather seems to recycle souls (sparks) into new bodies made of what is essentially primordial ooze (living metal).
Also very importantly that element of fluidity of identity and body. When you can change what you look like on a whim to such a stark degree, what really is identity? It’s somewhat implied that a lot of cybertronians take on new names depending on their environment, or translate them at the very least to fit in. Like, I haven’t gotten to really see cybertronian culture not filtered through a more human lens and I’m so excited to see that! It’s especially interesting for me in regards to Beast Wars, where we have all these protoforms that join the cast, and sometimes it feels like they know who they were before (especially Protoform X/Rampage) but for others it feels like they either have no memory of or no desire to go by whoever they used to be.
Plus, the insane timescale that a lot of cybertronians seem to live on, where they exist for millions of years. How do they experience time? Are days, weeks, months, years, decades nothing to them?
When you live for millions of years in a universe made of metal, how foreign must those small fragile organic creatures, whose species hasn’t even existed as long as you yourself have fought in a single war, seem?
Are they like mayflies, fleeting? Or are they like miracles, able to change and grow in such a short time while Cybertron stays stuck in its ways for a comparative eternity.

Image description: a screenshot of Optimus and Megatron fighting from the animated Transformers movie. Over it is a caption 'why couldn't y'all just break up like normal people why did you have to get everyone else involved'. End description.

infinity on high has literally everything. every single song fits together while still having something unique, stand-out, and insane going for them. it has sex. it has sexual innuendos. it has drugs. it has homoeroticism. it has doomed love affairs. it has love letters to the fans. it has a stripped-down, lullaby-like piano ballad. it has pete wentz screamo. it has horn sections. it has organ. it has organs. it has painful self-awareness. it has soul-bearing honesty. it has lies. it has voyeurism. it has a court house song. it has political commentary on the deeply flawed, racist justice system of the united states. it has commentary on the dehumanizing nature of celebrity culture. it has a feature from jay-z. it has an audience built into the songs. it has a sheep with wings on the cover. perfect ass album.

it’s wild that there isn’t a single more recent back up of lister’s mind tho
like he uploaded his memories in Thanks for the Memory didn’t he? In order to give Rimmer a few months of his own memory. I assumed it was all of his memory up to that point that he uploaded at that point but idk. But then there’s also bodyswap where his mind was taken out of him to be uploaded elsewhere so presumably it’s on file somewhere like that too? So there should at least be one back-up of his memory post-accident up to those points if not beyond that.
but then idk if the continuity is still even considering those events to have happened at all in this version of the timeline lmfao
timeslides really fucks with the things that came before and after it tbh so who knows anymore xD

Plus it gave us Rodimus Prime and G1 Season 3 so, you know, why be mad at them?
One of the most insane corporate decisions in entertainment media ever in my opinion is still Hasbro doing the 1986 animated Transformers movie where they violently kill off over 10 recurring beloved characters on screen, including the main guy, and then were surprised when children showed severe anguish over seeing Optimus Prime slowly dying of his wounds in a fucking hospital
