I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A HUGE ANT COLONY IN BRAZIL AND IT LOOKED LIKE A KINGDOM SO IN THEORY HALLOWNEST COULD BE REAL
I'm guessing you've never you seen West African Termite Mounds?
They are genuinely insane.
They even carbon-dated a set of four mounds in the Congo’s Miombo Woods and found them to be between 680 and 2200 years old. [via] HOLY SH*T

Mother, tell me so I say..
In case someone does not know, in the Russian version of Pathologic, Murky name is Mishka (bear). And Sticky since he is the son of Burakh, he is also a kind of "bear" personally, in my opinion.. Also in the Russian version, his name is Spikha (matches). Grace name is Laska, Which on the one hand means kindness, but on the other hand it is an animal - weasel. The Khan is a Dogheads, He wears the mask of one of his "clanmates". Taya Tycheek is associated with bulls and she is the "leader" of the Kin. And Notkin is one of the Soul-and-a-halve, And his pet and soul is a gray cat named Jester. But Capella, I'm not sure if she is related to the animal, personally I see a bird in her.

UC Riverside scientists have discovered a highly effective, nontoxic, and less expensive way to lure hungry termites to their doom.
The method, detailed in the Journal of Economic Entomology, uses a pleasant-smelling chemical released by forest trees called pinene that reminds western drywood termites of their food. They follow the scent to a spot of insecticide injected into wood.
"We saw significant differences in the death rates using insecticide alone versus the insecticide plus pinene," said UCR entomologist Dong-Hwan Choe, who led the discovery. "Without pinene, we got about 70% mortality. When we added it in, it was over 95%."

I've just recently learned about the termite subfamily Nasutitermitinae! and I want to take a moment to talk about their soldier caste, because, I mean... Look at these guys:
[Image Source: Taxonomic Notes on Nasutitermes and Bulbitermes (Termitidae, Nasutitermitinae) from the Sunda region of Southeast Asia based on morphological and molecular characters | Image ID: Four photos of soldier termites of the Nasutitermitinae subfamily, genus Nasutitermes, showing their heads from above. They have particularly round heads with pointed "noses" /End ID.]
'Why are they shaped like that?' you may be asking, and, as it turns out, that charming little nose is actually a means for chemical warfare! It's referred to as a "fontanellar gun" (likely meaning "fountain gun", alternatively called the nasus), and these termites use it to fire a sort of glue, or ant repellent depending on species. In fact, the accuracy of this shot is quite remarkable, as termites are blind!
