It has been an exciting past couple of weeks!

For my birthday/Mother’s Day I got a Cricut and my dreams of opening a sticker shop came true!

Black Sheep by Tabatha Vargo

I’m spending the week reading all the KU books that I have downloaded on my Kindle to clear it out for new ones and I’ve read SO MANY GREAT KU BOOKS! I can’t wait to share them all with you.

This is just one of them. It’s a SUPER dark (lots of trigger warnings) forbidden romance filled with so much longing and angst and slow-burn goodness!

I randomly put together this recipe for AIP Salsbury Meatballs that is SO delicious! I don’t measure anything, but I’ll try to give approximate measurements.

I love to make this with mashed sweet potatoes with avocado oil, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder and roasted veggies.

Ingredients

1lb local, organic ground beef

1/4 cup of Nutritional Yeast

3 tablespoons of Coconut Aminos

Salt

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Chives

Tiny pinch of dried basil

2-3 cups of homemade organic bone broth

2 packages organic sliced baby portabello mushrooms

1 whole sweet onion

4 cloves of minced garlic

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Arrowroot powder (enough to thicken)

Mix in nutritional yeast, coconut aminos, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chives, and basil into the ground beef and form meatballs. Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a pot. Add meatballs to pot and brown. Add in the onion and garlic to the pan until tender. Add mushrooms and heat through until tender. Add bone broth. Thicken with arrowroot powder. Serve over garlic mashed sweet potatoes and add roasted veggies as a side!

Would you kill me if I said Hamilton? LOL!

I’ll be adding new products to my Etsy shop and perfecting things there. I’m working from home for the foreseeable future – until COVID-19 isn’t as scary.

I am so eternally grateful that I work somewhere where this is possible, especially since both myself and my husband are considered high risk.

Other than that? No plans. I don’t ever really leave my house. I go to the Post Office during off-hours (I’m literally the only person there aside from the two people working) so I can check my PO box and buy stamps. I wear a mask and the workers are behind plastic.

I also occasionally run into the library and pick up books I have on hold and do self-checkout while wearing a mask and gloves.

I sometimes go to Target or Walmart, but I don’t leave my car. I have been a big fan of Drive Up!

I’m hosting a #RomanceBooktubers Readalong Live on my channel on Tuesday (July 7) at 7:30pm EST. Me and my fellow Romance Booktubers are rotating channels to host these weekly! Come and read with us for 40 mins, then chat about what we read! You can read however you feel comfortable – if you’re listening to audio, maybe join us in knitting/crocheting/stitching/crafting and tell us about your book and your project! Any and all types of reading welcome!

Today we are going to introduce a beautiful winter spot for you! It's the Snow House Festival in Yokote city, Japan and you must will like it!

The Snow House Festival is held in Yokote City, Japan on Febuary 15th and 16th every year. As a special festival in northeast Japan, it’s famous all around the country. 横手のかまくらは毎年2月15・16日の夜に行われる小正月の伝統行事で、みちのくの冬の風物詩として全国的に知られています。 横手市的雪洞节是每年二月十五和���六日的夜里举办的小正月的传统活动。作为日本东北地区具有冬日风情的活动为全国所熟知。 Children will go into the snow house saying “come in the snow house” and “thank Water God”, while praying to Water God by setting sweet wine and rice cake. 中に子供たちが入って、「はいってたんせ（かまくらに入ってください）」「おがんでたんせ（水神様をおがんでください）」といいながら、甘酒やおもちをふるまいます。 小孩们进入雪洞中，一边说着“进入雪洞吧”“拜拜水神大人吧”，一边摆好甜酒和年糕献给水神。 Snow House Festival is originally for praying to Water God for family members, business and harvest by giving small coins. As time flies, it gradually becomes a traveling attraction nowadays. 「かまくら」はもともと、中にまつられた水神様にお賽銭を上げて、家内安全・商売繁盛・五穀豊穣などを祈願する行事でしたが、時代の変化とともに観光化が進んで現在のような形になりました。 雪洞节原本是用来供奉水神的。人们向其中安置的水神大人供奉香油钱，并祈求合家安康，生意兴隆，五谷丰登。随着时代的变化，雪洞也慢慢向观光的方向进化了。 Germany architect Bruno Taut visited the Snow House at 1936 and was surprised by the wonderful view. He expressed his impression in the book “Japan Rediscovery”. “It’s really a great view. I haven’t seen such a beautiful view before and never expected to see it. This is the best scene of this trip.” 昭和11年、ドイツの建築家ブルーノ・タウトがかまくらを見てメルヘンの世界を絶賛し、彼の著書「日本の再発見」にそのときの感動を伝えています。 『すばらしい美しさだ。これほど美しいものを、私はかつて見たこともなければまた予期もしていなかった。これは今度の旅行の冠冕だ。』 昭和11年（1936年），德国的建筑师Bruno Taut在见到雪洞之后对这个童话般的世界大加赞赏，并在他的作品《再���现日本》中传达了当时的感动之情。 “实在太美丽了。我从没见过也没想到能见到这样美丽的东西。这份美景夺得了这次旅行的桂冠。”
