Your first song - In Cauda Venenum

A song everyone loves but you don't - tbfh Red Hands I guess. It's in my bottom 4 for the acts, but seeing it live was iconic and fun

Most overrated song - Go Get Your Gun is their number 1 on spotify for some reason and I literally have no idea why. It's a good song, but I've tried to recommend this band to people and had people turned away because they thought this band was country 😭

Most underrated song - Honestly I'm not really familiar with fan consensus for the most part, but highlighting some songs I know aren't hits anyway, Is There Anybody Here is a song I love I don't hear too many talking about. Additionally What Time Taught us and Crow and Cackle are my favorites off of Color spectrum, which I think aren't typically the favored picks off that album

Thoughts on Antimai - I just recently started getting into it, took me a second to warm into it, but holy shit it's so good. It's dangerously close to working its way into favorite status at the moment.

When did you find The Dear Hunter? - Honestly the crazy thing is I found em thru ytmusic way back in August 2021, again thru In Cauda Venenum, but I never actually intentionally went out to listen to more of their stuff until summer 2023, with which I started with Act III. I really liked Act III, but didn't really keep up the momentum with it until the fall that year, in which I fell DEEP into the TDH brainrot, and now here I am finally done with their discog a year later. Thank you youtube music for recommending it lol, makes me wish I actually bothered to use streaming for music recommendations more, I really don't

Anyway, those are my little anecdotes/personal thoughts. This band rules

Swore off TDH so that it can still hit me hard when I make a friend listen to it, realized that there's nothing stopping me from listening to the albums we already finished, listened to Act III: Life and Death again and boy can that still make me crazy stupid.

FOR SURE. I have talked about this before but “Love us all in spite of what we’ll do to you” is such a raw line and perfect foreshadowing of what happens in Act V, I still think about it a lot.

cameron!! honestly it’s a tie between acts II, III, and V, all for different reasons. act II i love because ms leading is my favorite character from the acts, act III because the songs are all Amazing (it’s crazy how much energy it has!) and act V because it came out right after i got into tdh so it means a lot to me! what’s your favorite album? :)

LYDIA what's your favorite Dear Hunter album? :D

Usually I would say "blaugh, don't make me pick" but today has been a wall to wall Act IV day so in this instant IV. Almost tied with V. Other strong contestants are II and III. It was always going to be an Act I think. Big fan of black on the color spectrum and need to give migrant more love but I enjoy the tracks off it that are on their audiotree live session. Act one is great but has the fewest tracks but some huge jams (the well has gone dryyyy and I with itttt). And shout out to Dear Ms Leading because I am every box on the "what your favorite TDH says about you" chart.

● What was the first song you ever heard by 6?

My sister was listening to their album in her room one day and I happened to walk in while “Mr. Owl ate my Metal Worm” was playing, got hooked almost instantly.

● What is your favorite song of 8?

“It Will Come Back” because it invokes a feeling that I really can’t describe, but is one of my fav feelings on the planet. Plus I love the chords he uses and the progression of the melody. 

● What kind of impact has 1 left on your life?

Ok then, so, TDH has been with me since my sister showed me them in middle school when she had a bootleg copy of Acts I, II, and III. I honestly didn’t like them at first, but as time wore on and I listened to them more, I began to notice the intricacies of their music and putting together the story line. I listened to them almost religiously since then, now owning all of the Acts on physical copies and flying across the country to see them perform live when they released Act V. Needlessly to say, they’re probably my all time favorite.

● What are your favorite lyrics by 5?

“ I'm riding on the back of this pressure Guessing that it's better I can't keep myself together Because all of this stress gave me something to write on The pain gave me something I could set my sights on”

● How many times have you seen 4 live?

Unfortunately, I haven’t. Would love to sometime.

● What is your favorite song by 7?

“The End and The Beginning” because it’s so well blended in sounds, and absolutely amazing. Oh, and because Brendon Urie has the voice of a god.

● Is there any song by 3 that makes you sad?

You see the answer to this has really changed, ask me before 2016 and I would have said “Heroes”, I don’t know why it struck me as a melancholy. Post 2016? All of them. Every single one.

● What is your favorite song by 9?

That’s going to be a tie between “Gunstreet Girl”, “God’s Away on Business”, and “Chocolate Jesus”.

● How did you first get into 2?

Hotline Miami 2, got stuck on the one level where “Roller Mobster” was playing, after that I was doing research one night and turned on his EP’s in the background, and then I was addicted.

● How did you get into 10?

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Specifically the episode “Little Rock of Horrors”. Brains is one of those songs that gets stuck in my head way too often than I care to admit.
