A flash of red lit up the night sky.

A flash of blue this time.

You looked up at the night sky with a neutral expression. Although the fireworks were a pretty sight, watching them many times over the years dwindled your excitement levels.

However, that couldn't be more different than the girl sitting beside you.

You looked over to Yoimiya. Her eyes were solely focused on the fireworks. She was making small oohs and aahs as her eyes tracked each firework that launched into the sky.

A small smile crossed your face. You felt pretty good reaching out to her and inviting her to the fireworks show. This was actually the first time you reached out to anyone in Teyvat and invited them to an activity on Earth. Initially, you were scared about inviting anyone out of the blue for something you didn't know if they would like.

However, once Yoimiya asked you to invite her to any fireworks shows in the future, that made inviting her much easier.

And that's what brings the two of you together right now.

*RING*

...At least until your phone rings.

Taking a quick peek at Yoimiya, you quietly reached into your pocket and checked your phone to see who on Earth was calling you at such an ungodly hour.

...

Oh, it's your friend. Yeah, that checks out.

"Be right back, Yoimiya. I have to take this."

Yoimiya, oblivious to the futuristic device in your hands, says nothing. Her eyes never turned away from the fireworks.

Quickly, you head inside and answer the phone. "Yo, what's up?"

"Dude, are you watching the fireworks right now?"

You frowned. "Well, I was, until you called me."

"Perfect!" you heard some shuffling in the background, "I can't wait to show you what I've got."

You hesitated to respond, looking back towards Yoimiya. "Do you think it can wait, I actually have somebody over right now."

"Ohhhh~? Who is it~?" they teased.

"A friend," you quickly replied. No way you were gonna reveal to anybody that someone from a video game was actually real.

...Especially with all of the edits of her you've seen on your socials.

"Oh come onnnnnnn. You don't have to be scared. I won't spoil to the world that you're in a relationship for once in your life."

You furrowed your eyebrows. "Yes, you would."

"Nah you're right I totally would," they proudly said. "But getting back to the point, guess what I've got~."

You thought for a brief second, but ultimately could not think of anything that this idiot would have that warranted bragging to you. "I dunno, what?"

"El. Diablo."

Your face scrunched up in confusion. "What?"

"El Diablo! It's supposed to be one of the best illegal-yet-for-some-reason-totally-legal fireworks out there! And now it's with me! Wanna see me light this bad boy?

You looked back toward Yoimiya, still watching the fireworks. "Dude, no, I'm not gonna ditch my friend for some firework."

"You don't have to!" you heard more shuffling in the background. "I'll launch it right now and you and your 'friend' can watch it!"

You began to panic a bit. "No no no, please don't. I want tonight to be a good first impression for them."

"Aha!!!" your friend shouted. "I knew you were on a date! No worries, [Y/N], I'll make sure tonight ends off with a 'bang'!"

They hung up after that, but you could picture your friend laughing evilly as he was lighting El Diablo.

"Oh God," your face paled. "I have to warn Yoimiya."

You quickly ran back outside. "Yoimiya."

No response.

"Yoimiya!"

"Hey! Yoimiya!" you softly shook her shoulder. "We have to go inside right now."

Still no response.

You stepped in front of her line of sight. "Hey."

Yoimiya finally showed signs of life as her eyes fell on the figure blocking her view. "Wha-. Hey! [Y/N]!" She attempted to look around your body. "Move out of the way!"

You rapidly shook your head. "No. We've got to head inside."

"Why?"

"My friend just told me that they were about to fire off a special firework but it's actu-"

"WHAT?!" Yoimiya stood up. "Your friend made a special firework just for you and you're not gonna give them the pleasure of seeing it?"

"No, you don't understand. This is NOT a firework. This is a BOMB, disguised as-"

*SCREEEEEEE*

"TAKE COVER!" you shouted as you ran back inside and hid behind the couch, covering your ears.

Yoimiya looked back towards you in confusion. "A bomb? What do you mean?" she turned back around. "It's just an ordinary..."

*BOOM*

Aside from the ringing in your ears, you could barely hear Yoimiya's shriek of shock over the blaring car alarms.

You were in the kitchen eating a quick snack from the pantry when you suddenly heard a noise from your bedroom. It was a familiar noise though, one that you had come to recognize pretty quickly.

That noise indicated that somebody from Teyvat had crossed over from their world to yours.

But not just anybody could come and go as they please. Instead, the Traveler informed you that only certain people would be given permission to go to your world, similar to how only certain people are allowed within the Traveler's Serenitea Pot. You think that there's a special kind of token that they give out to each of their friends, but you haven't asked them about that yet.

But enough thinking, for now, you have a guest!

You set aside your snack and walked over to your bedroom. Once you got there, you spotted a familiar green-haired, mask-wearing girl perusing her new surroundings. One that you know has never visited your world before.

"Shinobu?"

She quickly turned her head towards you. Initially, her eyes widened in shock, but she quickly calmed down after noticing you. "Hello. I assume you're [Y/N]?"

You nodded your head. "That would be me."

She nods her head in return. "Good. Let me get straight to the point then. I have a couple of questions to ask of you."

"It must be something important," you thought. "Otherwise, I don't see the Traveler allowing her to interrupt my day."

"Oh? What is it?" you asked.

She crosses her arms. "To start off, I learned from Itto that he recently came here, is that correct?"

"Yes," you nodded. "He came a couple of days ago."

"Okay..." Shinobu brought a fist to her chin. "And was there anything he did that was of great concern?"

You raised a quizzical eyebrow. "What do you mean by that?"

"Well last night, I had asked Itto where he had been since I hadn't seen him for a couple of days. He told me he had been hanging out with you. I then asked him how things went to which he responded that everything went along smoothly."

She looked back towards you. "However, the way he responded was concerning, to say the least. Instead of giving a straightforward answer, his answer seemed almost panicky, insisting that everything was okay and that I shouldn't investigate."

You also brought a fist to your chin. "...So you're here to investigate if he did anything wrong?"

"Correct." Shinobu nodded. "So. Did he do anything worth mentioning to me?"

Keeping your fist to your chin, you looked at the ground in front of you. You thought back to your time with Itto. You mostly just showed him around your apartment explaining what everything was and how it worked to the best of your knowledge.

After a while, you finally replied. "No. Nothing in particular."

However, Shinobu was doubtful of your response. "Really?" She crossed her arms. "No concerns, complaints, or even... damages?"

Your eyes darted to the side before quickly looking back at Shinobu. "R-really! Nothing of your concern."

Shinobu's eyes narrowed.

"Honest!"

"Okay, he did do one thing."

Before you had even finished your sentence, Shinobu closed her eyes and pinched her nose in frustration. After a few seconds, she let out a sigh before opening her eyes. "...Should've known."

"It's really not that big of a deal," you reassured. "I'm pretty sure I can take care of this by myself."

However, Shinobu wouldn't budge. "At least let me see what he did so that I may enact my own punishment accordingly."

You put your hands up. "I-I don't think you should go that far."

Shinobu glared into your eyes. "[Y/N]..." she warned.

Damn, she really was scary when she needed to be.

"Got it," you put your arms down. "I'll go ahead and show you."

You directed her over to your couch in the living room. Overall, it was a nice, comfortable couch covered with cushions, blankets, and pillows. However, anyone who has looked at numerous couches knows that pillows normally aren't supposed to rest against the wall above the back cushions.

Your couch had one pillow to speak of.

You removed the pillow, revealing to Shinobu what you had been hiding from sight. "This is where the incident happened."

To the people on Earth, nobody could probably think of a reasonable explanation as to why your apartment wall had two nail-sized holes in the wall inside a circular dent that low to the ground.

To Kuki Shinobu, who has seen such an incident happen before, she recognized pretty quickly that the two holes were caused by...

"Once Itto saw the couch, he immediately leaped onto it. However, his momentum led his head to smash against the wall. Normally, I'd be worried about just the dent. But unfortunately, since he has horns..." you trailed off, letting the image speak for itself.

You looked over to Shinobu and saw that she had her head faced towards the ground while her eyes were closed. You were surprised to see that she was not as angry as you thought she would be. However, you did notice that she was repetitively taking very deep breaths.

...You guess being in the Arataki Gang taught her a lot more self-control than you give her credit for.

"How much?"

You tilted your head. "Huh?"

Shinobu looked towards you, determination in her eyes. "How much for the repairs?”

You frowned, looking back towards the damage. "Quite a bit, but unfortunately, Mora doesn't exist here. I'll have to pay for this out of pocket."

Silence filled the room. You took the time to move the pillow back over the hole in the wall.

“…Maybe not. I have an idea."

You curiously looked over to Shinobu. "I can give you some items from Teyvat that you could sell here. That way you'll be able to make a profit to pay off the damage."

You raised your eyebrows in surprise. "...Yeah, that could actually work. The only thing is that the item in question would have to be something that exists here so that it has value."

"Understandable," Shinobu nodded. "Does your world have any iron, crystal, or amethyst?"

"It does," you nodded. "Is that what we're gonna go for?"

"We are." She puts her hands on her hips. "And I know just the oni to gather them."

"You're gonna subject Itto to manual labor as punishment?"

"Correction: Hard manual labor."

"My thoughts and prayers are with you, Arataki Itto. You're gonna need them."

When you left your apartment to eat dinner, you remember leaving the blinds on your windows open to let in the evening sunlight. However, when you came back to your apartment, the blinds were closed leaving your apartment in pitch-black darkness.

Confusedly, you reached out to the nearby light switch to flip the lights on. But before you could...

"Well well well. Look who finally decided to show up."

You whipped your head towards the source of the noise. It was coming from the middle of the living room. Suddenly, a match was lit. The match, being held by a darkened figure, went towards an object placed below it. Before long, a flame started to flicker and the match was extinguished.

"A candle? I don't even have one...?"

Despite your confusion, you were able to notice more details of the mysterious figure sitting in your living room. After some squinting, you finally were able to figure out who this person was.

"...Cyno? What's he doing here?"

"You've kept me waiting a long time, [Y/N]," Cyno spoke in his notoriously low voice. "Don't think that you're gonna get away this time."

"...Get away from what?" you asked.

"From a game of Genius Invocation TCG, of course."

"...Are you freaking serious right now?"

Keeping your eyes on Cyno, you reached out to the light switch and flipped it on, revealing that Cyno had set up everything in advance. He sat on the opposite side of a table (one that you didn't even own... he must've brought one) with a deck of cards placed neatly in front of him. Across from his side of the table was another neatly placed stack of cards, your deck if you had to guess right.

"...Is that so?" you playfully inquired, getting into character which mirrored Cyno's nonchalent personality. "Then be prepared, for once the battle is finished, you will be left in nothing but Sume-ruins!"

Cyno sighed. "Not a pun worthy of praise, I must say."

"Oh come on!" you whined. "I've been hanging onto that for at least a week!"

You begrudgingly took the seat opposite of Cyno. "I already went ahead and shuffled your deck, so we can just go right ahead and get started."

Nodding in reply, you began to draw cards from the top of your deck. "You know, this is the first time I've ever gotten to play with one of you guys in person."

"Mhm." Cyno hummed.

"If any of my friends were to hear about this, they would think it to be so bizarre."

Author's Side Notes: Sorry for the inactivity, I haven't felt as motivated to write anything. Regardless, I managed to come up with three new reverse isekai ideas.

I do have other ideas involving Kirara, Sayu, Xianyun, and the Raiden Shogun, but I don't think I can make them into an interesting short story. What I might do instead is turn them into headcannons. That way it'll be easier to write while still be entertaining.

Also, feel free to offer ideas for any other characters!

I'm going to preface this by saying you can write whoever you want however you want and no one is gonna stop you; heck, it likely won't even affect your likes and stuff. These are my personal peeves stemming from character portrayal <3 Characters A-D

Albedo ;; He isn't very heavily emotive; He is shown to approach almost everything from a logical/analytic standpoint!! My guy expressed concern with the most nonchalant voice, so he clearly does care, just not in an expressive/passionate way

Alhaitham ;; Similar to Albedo, but slightly more expressive! He clearly has things/people that he values, and his own ways of showing care differ from societal norms, which is why he comes across as cold and indifferent!! Even the vulnerability that comes slowly with trust isn't immediately obvious, but this is definitely something that's interesting to explore in works⎯ Would he change the way he feels comfortable expressing himself into something else for you? Would you want him to?

Amber ;; One of her main personality traits is the lack of deliberation!! Even with people she really cares about and loves!! Overthinking? We don't know them

Have you done Cynos new quest? If so, may I request a Tighnari x Reader oneshot where the reader also takes part in the duel at the end (as the traveller or something). Even tho they won they still got injured (but pretended to be fine as to not appear as weak) and after everything settled down and they went back to the city Tighnari takes care of them? Basically some fluff, comfort kinda thing? Sorry if it sounds kinda complicated :')

You opened the door to you and your boyfriends shared home, covering the blood stains on your shirt with a bag of things you got payed for in the commission.

“you’re home!”

tighnari walked up to you, pressing a kiss to your cheek.

He raised an eyebrows upon seeing some blood on your shirt,

“what’s th-“

“I’m going to bed, I’m a bit tired.”

you said, before paimon interrupted “heyyy! You haven’t even promised paimon her snacks for helping you when you got in-“

“kitchen paimon, top cabinet”

you slumped your way to your bedroom, not wanting to sleep with tighnari tonight so he wouldn’t see your wounds.

as you removed your shirt, you winced, looking at the loosely wrapped bandages around your torso.

“shit….”

you unwrapped it, carefully and slowly. meanwhile, back in the kitchen, paimon was running through the cabinets.

“aha!”

“finally! Paimon deserved this!”

she drooled at the sight of the chips, tighnari finding it odd how she actually helped In a commission. He heard your distant grunts, your curses, everything no matter how much you tried to stay quiet.

“paimon, how was the commission?”

he asked, hoping she’d give some info.

“Traveler got stabbed pretty badly by a hilichurl camp! Then traveler told paimon to stay quiet and they’d give me their snacks from inazuma!”

Paimon exclaimed, completely disregarding your agreement with her. “oops…. Uh.. don’t tell traveler”

she snickered, while stuffing her face with some dango you had left over.

“thank you paimon.”

and just like that, tighnari left the room.

you were struggling to tend to your own wounds, trying to not stain the sheets or anything, when you heard a familiar voice.

“tsk. You’re hopeless.”

Your boyfriend sat next to you and grabbed a cotton, adding some liquid to help disinfect it.

“Paimon told me everything. Don’t bother to hide it.”

he held your hand tightly before disinfecting the wound. It hurt a lot.

“agh-! Nari-“

you winced, holding his hand tightly

“almost done.”

you tried to not yell in pain, knowing tighnari’s ears are quite sensitive.

“I need to stitch these, drink this first.”

he suddenly pushed a drink to your lips. It was a drink to help you get sleepy so you wouldn’t feel much pain.

as you were being stitched up, nari held your hand tightly and placed a scarf nearby to your mouth to bite for pain.

he winces whenever he sees a particularly deep wound/scar, hoping the anesthesia is still strong while he treats them (yes he also injected some to you after he made you drink a sleep thing)

when he’s finished, he changes you out of your clothes. He obv doesn’t touch any intimate areas

the moment he changes you to comfier clothes, he presses a kiss to your forehead.

“oh traveler….dont hide things like this from me.”

he stays up all night to care for you.

the next morning, he does everything. Cleans dishes, makes sure you don’t move at all and most important (and the scariest thing…) he needs to hear what happened from YOUR mouth.

he reassures you that even if you’re injured, it’s okay to ask for help.

the entire day(every day until you’re better) he pampers you.

synopsis— after being invited to play TCG with your (best) friends in Al-haitham's and Kaveh's apartment, what was supposed to be innocent game (was it really when you're drunk and stripping?) slowly morphed into something more... inappropriate.

"No way! It's not fair, He's bluffing! He's cheating– c'mon, Y/N, help me out here!" Kaveh was drunk, very drunk to say the least. Why? In order to save himself from embarrassment, of course! He took shots of alcohol instead of stripping.

You were currently sitting in between Al haitham and Kaveh, watching as Kaveh was struggling to keep himself together as his fellow friends were beating him. You then heard Cyno scoff and roll his eyes, "Quit whining. I'm not cheating, you just suck, that's all."

Tighnari and you slowly nodded with your lips pressed into a thin line. Kaveh whipped his head around and faced you with a distraught and horrified face. "W–Wait.. not you too!" he exclaimed, pointing at you like he was betrayed (he kind of was).

"Sorry Kaveh... But Cyno is just really good!" you tried to explain to which Cyno smirked at, but Kaveh placed his index finger on your lips to shush you. "I.. get it, you love Cyno more than me!" he cried out. You could only heave a great sigh and continue on with the game.

Within the multiple rounds, Kaveh was almost naked with only his pants on. Al haitham only have few articles of his clothing removed, Tighnari's jacket was off along with other articles, leaving just his thin undershirt and his pants.

You weren't as bad as Kaveh so you still had your shirt and pants. Cyno was the only person who still had all of his clothes on.

"Aha! Beat you Tighnari!" you yelled out in victory before he sighed in defeat, only to smile (sadly) at you.

"Yes.. yes.. Congrats!" he congratulated you. You smiled at his defeat and hummed happily. Al haitham and Cyno smiled and also said their congratulations while Kaveh grumbled, his face all red.

After more rounds, Kaveh's movement was slowly becoming sloppy, sometimes laughing as he lost (which was not like him), and you were worried to say the least, but you couldn't say the same about the other players. They were either all laughing at his red face or did not notice how something was off.

Slowly but surely, you decided that you should question him to see if he was alright.

"Kaveh..? Are you alright? Your face is very red." you asked, placing your hand on his shoulder with a worried look on your face. Kaveh and everybody turned to look at you.

Cyno let out a cough to get your attention. "Uh, Y/N, Kaveh looks fine to me." he said, lazily pointing at him. Tighnari hummed in agreement while Al-haitham eyed Kaveh.

"Although I would like to assume that Kaveh is.. fine, he is obviously not. How many shots did he take?" Al haitham asked.

You all then all looked at all the shot glasses on the table. "ten." you all collectively said. Your eyes widened as you lightly tapped his cheeks, "hey, Kaveh, you okay?" your eyes were trained on his face—he looked dazed and slightly out of it.

When he laid his eyes on you, he smiled drunkenly. "You're so pretty... Y/n..." he whispered before softly giggling. Your face flushed red at his words "he's drunk! He doesn't mean it." you thought, but you could not deny the feeling of warmness pooling at your stomach.

Kaveh placed his hand on your waist, bringing you in slightly closer to him which you allowed—you didn't know why but you didn't stop yourself even though you could.

"He's drunk." Tighnari grumbled in an annoyed tone before – staring daggers at the drunk man – prying him away from you by his shoulders. Kaveh shrieked and slightly pouted. You nod your head and sighed.

But before Kaveh could really be away from you he pulled away from Tighnari's grip and was suddenly close to you, his face mere inches away from yours, you could smell the alcohol coming from him—you could feel his hot breath hitting your skin.

"Kaveh what are you–" Al haitham asked in a husky tone before getting cut of by Kaveh himself. He then took your hand and placed it on his chest. "I.. want to kiss you. Your lips.." he whispered, and you swore you could have seen small hearts in his eyes.

And although he was drunk, his words seemed genuine. Your heart skipped a beat when he came even closer, his lips just inches away from yours before it finally happened—"Mhm–!" his lips crashed onto yours roughly.

Your eyes widen from shock as your face flushes a deep red. One of your hands made it's way to his chest, giving you some distance between you and him before he could literally squash you.

When he finally pulled away, you were taking deep breaths, your lips even more redder and slightly bruised. "Kaveh, y–you're drunk!" you cried out, pushing him slightly away, but all he did was ignore you and kissed you again, a bit more gentle now.

Kaveh closed his eyes shut as his hands were splayed out on the floor, towering over you. It was heaty, to say the least. It was passionate and after a few seconds he was pulled away (once again), leaving you breathless and face all red.

Before you could even take a small break or calm down—another pair of lips crashed into yours. It was rough and needy. You could hear Kaveh whining and Tighnari scoffing.

Your mind was going crazy, first Kaveh and now Al haitham? You were in heaven.. But while you were drowned in your thoughts you felt his hands roaming around your body, suddenly, your eyes shot open as you jumped when you felt his slightly cold fingers sensually touching your waist.

When Al haitham pulled away, you noticed how he looked dazed and how his face was redder than ever.

"You.. don't know how long I've been wanting to do this... To kiss you." he breathed, his breaths growing soft and shaky.

"We. You don't know how long we have been wanting this." Cyno added in, moving Al haitham out of the way, his eyes filled with lust and desire boring into yours. Your brows furrowed, what did they mean "how long"?

You nervously looked away from Cyno's gaze and turned to look beside you, and your soul nearly left your body, there, Tighnari kneeled next to you. "Huh? Ah–!" you squealed when you felt his hands suddenly cupping your cheeks.

"May I?" he asked, admiring your adorable and flustered face. Your breath was shaky as you slowly nod and within a heartbeat he smashed his lips on yours, kissing you passionately.

Tighnari would've kissed you for hours had it not been for Cyno pulling him away. "It's my turn now, isn't it?" Cyno asked, tilting your head upwards to face him with his finger.

A soft whimper slips out of your mouth, your breaths growing more heavy. Cyno chuckles and takes it as a yes, he placed his lips on yours, it was so soft and passionate.. yet so needy.

When Cyno pulled away, your face was red from all the kissing, your head dizzy from being kissed so many times from different people. Al haitham chuckled and snaked his arms around your waist before peppering your neck with soft and sensual kisses.

"Ah... Al haitham–" and yet again, you were silenced with Tighnari kissing your lips, your eyes screwed shut as you let him kiss you as Al haitham continued to kiss your neck.

Kaveh interlocked his fingers with yours, inching closer to you as Cyno kissed your knuckles. It was all too much.. so much attention from four (most definenetly) handsome men.

To say the least, you had a very interesting night.

Tighnari hated it.

Seeing Cyno talking to Nilou, looking all excited. No, Tighnari really didn’t like that.

It’s not like he wasn’t happy that Cyno had found somebody who was willing to listen to his hours of rambling about TCG with actual and genuine interest. Moreover, he was jealous that unhappy that Cyno would talk to Nilou more than with him now.

Jealousy was an awful feeling. Especially since Nilou was so sweet and didn’t deserve to get the cold shoulder from the raven haired fox now.

A sigh heaved past Tighnari’s lips as he watched Cyno and Nilou chat so lively from afar. He wished that would be him instead of Nilou. It was selfish, but really, he couldn’t help it. Tighnari craved the general’s full and undivided attention more than anything for such a long time now. Yet, he never found a way to actually tell Cyno.

Cyno’s and Nilou’s chat went on for a long time. So long, that it had been evening once they finished. Nilou bid her goodbyes to Cyno, finally giving the fox a chance to talk to his best friend alone.

‘Deep breathes’ , Tighnari thought to himself. There was no reason to be nervous. He would just tell Cyno how he felt about him spending more time with the dancer instead of him, especially since Tighnari only came to Sumeru City to see Cyno!

“Cyno!” Tighnari approached the general as Cyno turned to face him. Those red eyes, the rosy lips… the fox struggled a lot not to stare intensely at the man’s beauty.

“Tighnari. What a surprise to see you here”

A surprise, huh? Tighnari wasn’t sure if he liked the way those words sounded in Cyno’s mouth. He had hoped Cyno would be a bit more happy to see him, a bit more happy that Tighnari had found time for him.

“Aha… Yeah… So, how was your day?” Be casual, play it casual.

“I spend the afternoon playing TCG with Nilou. Did you know that she plays really well?”

Maybe he was being selfish. Maybe, just maybe, this was his own egoism bubbling up in Tighnari. But he couldn’t stand it. He just couldn’t. Not when Cyno would talk about her in such an excited and interested manner.

He hated it. He hated it. He hated it.

He. Hated. It.

He hated that digusting feeling in his chest. That painful feeling in his heart at the thought that Cyno was interested in Nilou.

“Stop!” Tighnari said without thinking. Cyno fell silent, the smile disappearing off his face and his expression turning into one of confusion.

“I…”

The words were stuck in the fox’s throat. He had so much he wanted to say and yet he could not force those words to leave his mouth.

‘Don’t you see? You don’t love her’

‘What about me?’

He was selfish and mean. Tighnari knew that. And yet… yet he couldn’t bring himself to say all those nice things he wanted to say to Cyno. Because his mind was clouded with jealousy and dislike for the dancer. Though, deep inside the forest watcher knew that Nilou had done nothing but be a good friend for Cyno.

“I don’t want to be friends, Cyno” Those words left Tighnari’s mouth out of nowhere. He didn’t realise what he had said and how he had said it until he looked at Cyno’s shocked and hurt face.

What had he done?

Cyno furrowed his brows, lowered his head to look at the ground and grit his teeth.

“I see…”

Tighnari wanted to take those words back, wanted to explain himself. He wanted to move when he saw the white hair sway past him. He wanted to yell out that it was not what he meant, not like that. But the fox couldn’t move. It’s almost as if his own words have shocked him more than they have hurt and shocked Cyno.

When Tighnari finally snapped out of it, Cyno was nowhere to be seen.

His heart ached.

Talking to Cyno was impossible after that. He was always ‘busy’, though Tighnari already felt as if that was a bold excuse not to talk to him. And when Cyno would hanf with Nilou, Tighnari wouldn’t dare approach them.

But he wanted to make things right. He wanted things to be normal again and those feelings inside him - they were killing him. Guilt, worry but also jealousy. Jealousy for the people that were to spend time with Cyno while Tighnari had ruined what they had a mere week ago.

If talking wouldn’t work, maybe writing would. Tighnari writes all the time, keeping in contact with his former teacher and with Cyno when the fox is in Gandharva.

Leaving Sumeru City, Tighnari was thinking of the words he wanted to truly tell Cyno that day. It was partially true, he didn’t want to be friends anymore, he wanted something more with the general. A rejection of Cyno would be a lot easier to handle than not being Cyno’s friend anymore.

The same evening he arrived back in Gandharva Ville, Tighnari sat down at his desk. He had not told Collei about their fallout, Cyno was already like a farther to Collei and it would only break the forest rangers heart if he were to tell her what he said to Cyno.

The pen sat down onto the paper but all the words had left Tighnari’s mind.

Why was writing a letter like this so much harder than those he usually wrote?

After the umpteenth try of finding a formal way to start the letter, Tighnari looked over at the dozens of letters he and Cyno had exchanged over the course of the past few years.

It was then when the fox realised, that he would not need to find a start or proper ending when he was writing down what he felt for Cyno, yet he wanted some kind of structure in his words.

He decided to write alphabetically, finding words to describe his feelings rather accurately with that much vocabulary in his mind.

A for how Amusing and adorable Tighnari secretly finds Cyno’s attempts to lighten the mood with his jokes.

B for how Beguile time is when Tighnari spends his days with the general doing, really, anything.

C for Cyno’s Candid nature. The fox admires the generals boldness and honesty.

He wrote until the late night and once he was done with the letter, he promised himself that he’d give it to Cyno personally.

A few days later and Tighnari found himself in front of the Akademiya once more. He was unusually nervous to talk to Cyno again. A deep breath, another flight at the door of Cyno’s office and he’d knock on the door. Just that Tighnari couldn’t.

He was too nervous to face Cyno like this, with nothing more than a letter.

Thoughts were running through the raven’s mind rapidly. He was so lost in though that despite having those large fennec ears, he had not heard small footsteps approaching him slowly.

The tap on his shoulder brought Tighnari back to reality and he didn’t dare turn around as he feared he had a hunch who was standing behind him.

“Tighnari, you’re in the way.” Cyno spoke calmly. How easy those words came out of his mouth.

It was now or never, wasn’t it?

Slowly, the fox turned his head. Those turqoise eyes were definetely avoiding the pair of red ones that stared at him.

How awkward.

Silence.

None of the uttered a word for now. Cyno was patiently waiting for Tighnari to move, while Tighnari awkwardly tried to composure himself. In the end, all he could do was hold the sheet of paper in front of the general’s face.

With raised brows, Cyno took the letter out of his hand. He read the words written on it, slowly and carefully. Tighnari could practically see the blush spreading on Cyno’s cheeks and red eyes widening at each word.

Was it that bad?

Cyno’s silence was killing Tighnari. He needed a reaction, whether it was negative or positive didn’t matter. And then, when Cyno slowly looked up at him with an expression of utter embarassment and something Tighnari couldn’t quite grasp, the fox heaved a sigh of relief.

“Did you… write this for me?”

A sign. A reaction. And it wasn’t negative, yet.

“Yes. And I meant every word.”

The general stared at Tighnari for a few moments, blinking slowly, unsure what to say or do now. The fox already feared as much – Cyno couldn’t reciprocate his feeling. And that was okay.

“Sorry, I just wanted you to know.” Tighnari started. He was so sure Cyno could never feel the same as him but when he looked at those cherry coloured eyes once more, he almost couldn’t believe it.

Cyno beamed, a smile rested on his usual stoic face, too. Was there something more to it?

Without warning Cyno embarced Tighnari. The hug was tight, yet comfortable. It was definetely something Tighnari had needed.

“You know, a simple ‘I really like you’ would’ve done the job too, right?”

“Maybe… but this is lovely as well isn’t it?”

The smaller man chuckled, nodding his head in agreement.

They didn’t need words exactly to communicate their feeling. The hug was all Tighnari needed to know that Cyno, too, loved his best friend in a way that he couldn’t possibly describe in words coming from his mouth.

I've been thinking a lot about Cyno coping with a sick Tighnari (totally not for fic purposes nope [/joking]) especially centered on Tighnari trying really hard not to let him be told? Because like! The distance means Nari can get away with A Lot. So Cyno finds out Nari's been ill, but like because a third party sent him a message.

I can't get out of my head the slight "I always call for you why wouldn't you tell me you needed me here" that has tucked into my brain and I don't know if it fits Cynos personality??? I don't think he'd say it but I've been chewing on it a lot idk. All that to say - I'm Extremely curious for your take on such a thing if you feel up to giving it! Cyno finding out, second hand at best that Nari's been sick for days. (also aha I figured out how to trick it into letting me send long anons x.x maybe???)

This is so interesting to me because yes!! I love this vibe and I think there's a place for it in a CynoNari fic but I also agree that Cyno wouldn't say it out loud??!? So I've been mulling it over and I wonder if Cyno would go more of the internalizing route. Instead of "why didn't you tell me?" it might be more "what did I do wrong so that Nari didn't trust me with this?"

Because yeah, Cyno goes to Nari to recharge and feel better and get taken care of, so I think he is gonna worry when Nari doesn't do the same with him. I imagine that his first reaction is panic - Is Tighnari okay? I need to be with him, right now. How can I fix him? And then there's some hurt - Why didn't he tell me? And then some internalized guilt - Have I done anything to break his trust? Or even: Are we not as close as I thought we were? Doubts and second-guessing.

Damn, I'm picturing Cyno being there caring for Tighnari and thinking he's selfish for it. Thinking that once Tighnari's more lucid, he won't want Cyno there. And then when Nari is more lucid, Cyno apologizing and moving to leave before Tighnari even says anything. Nari's confused, and like "Wait– Cyno. Why are you apologizing?" And then they chat and it comes out that Tighnari really didn't think he was in such bad shape, and he didn't want to bother/worry Cyno, but like - he's so glad that Cyno's here. He never feels safe like he does when Cyno's around. He's sorry for not being more open and honest with him from the start etc etc.

before he can leave, ren is talking. it's progress, even if ren still sounds angry. kami doesn't leave. rather, he's turning back around and making eye contact with his brother for the first time in days. kami's even opening his mouth automatically to CONTINUE the conversation, but a single word halts that entire thought process.

it's not something anyone ever dared called him before. let alone, ren. the insult is so completely out of place and jarring for the mood they are ― were ― in. whatever conversation had been taking place is still important, kaminari DOES want to learn more about ren's and kazuha's relationship. he hadn't been privy to it before, but―

"did..." kami clears his throat and lifts a finger, before letting it wilt. "did you just call me kaminitwit?" he should address everything else. it's not JUST the background ren's finally giving him, but it also sounds like an invitation for kami to stay in this world. which, he does. he very, VERY much does.

staying here also means coming out of hiding, and not pretending that ren is the only wanderer around. he's not entirely sure the world is actually ready for that, but they can figure out the ins and outs of that later. he'll have to also clarify that's what ren means.

he un-wilts his finger to make his counterpoints. not that he's in DISAGREEMENT with ren in the first place. ren is correct in that kami made a mess, but he's held by some innate desire to defend himself. "first off, i would say i hardly inconvenienced the general mahamatra. cyno seemed plenty ecstatic over ordering me around all night. i think i might like him, but he doesn't get to know this. i'll make my apologies to lord kusanali, though. she didn't deserve this."

kami holds up a second finger. "second, if you want me to stop hiding, that means revealing to all of sumeru that there's two of us. i don't know what else you'd mean by embracing it. if that's what you want, then i'm happy to oblige."

kaminari lowers his hand then. when he next speaks, his voice is softer, far more serious, yet gentle than before. "i'll do anything you want if it means i don't have to lose the only family i have left."

I got the grumpy sage at 85 pity. Now to try and get his weapon. My current stance on dendro is. It's super broken. My nahida can hit like 17k with a bloom damage cause her em is so high. Alhaitham at lvl 70 is already popping big numbers because bloom and it's reactions are so op. I also got Ganyu's bow from the standard banner at like 9 pity. I wasn't expecting that. Now faruzan and collei can fight over the elegy I have that I got trying to get cyno's weapon. I currently have the sapwood blade on Al.

Ohohooo congrats!! How is he so far? The trial for him was really fun, but past that I don't know much more about his playstyle (though imo it feels pretty nice).

But also ahhh yesyes Amos bow right?? I mean tbh just throw it on whoever you're using atm- nothing wrong with sharing weapons ehe Arguably, however, function-wise Amos bow would be better on Faruzan because charge shots are an important part of her kit and can deal big bonk dmg if you build her well nodnod while Collei is more of a swap in, use skill/burst, swap out yk?

Mainly you can get away with using Faruzan w/ Amos better than Collei- especially if you take into consideration Amos' passive where the amount of time an arrow is in the air will translate into a larger buff and Faruzan can momentarily group up (loose terms, stunning) enemies so she'd have time to get further before shooting another shot and getting a little more use out of the passive.

Aha but that's just my 2-second thoughts- I don't have Amos myself so I can't actually test this out, but I do intend on building dps Faruzan for fun!

That being said, I hope that you can snag Alhaitham's weapon!! It really is so good OTL I'd get it if I didn't just roll on weapon banner when Scaramouche was out-

Cyno is very attached to you, so attached that he sends declarations of TCG war to your door every 7th morning.

You are also quite attached to the boy as you two were as close as he and Tighnari. And honestly you still haven’t managed to beat his deck so every 7th morning you head off to Port Osmos to find him.

You two would stay there from morning to night, just battling each other to no end.

“Aha! I got you now!” You slam down your card and Cyno inhales, his eyes widening so slightly.

“Impossible,” he exclaims with the most poker face you have ever seen on a loser’s face.

Collei often wonders how you get along with Cyno so well. You curse at him so openly and he only allows a select few to curse at him.

You don’t know yourself but for some reason you find him very funny and genuine in a way. He may be strict at times but his un-matra actions tell a different story.

Both of you often bicker, to the point where Tighnari personally hunts you down and scold you both for three hours.

Sometimes at night when Cyno is free he will often come to find you and have dinner together before he heads off to the desert.

“Why not stay in Ghandarva Ville?” You ask, unaware of Collei’s past and her trauma with Cyno. Collei trusts you, but isn’t ready to tell you about her past yet.

Not wanting you to worry, he instead says, “there’s more things I need to take care of in the desert. Candace might need some help.”

You always offer him to stay over the night, but he will always refuse.

Sometimes there would be stargazing nights, and Cyno and you would just lay on the grass and stare at the sky. Your hairs intertwine and overlap each other as your heads bump together gently.

There are times you feel Cyno’s eyes on you, but when you turn to him he’s facing the sky. Of course, why would he even be looking?

And then you wake up the next morning in your own bed, a note on your desk with some flowers.

It’s moments like these your feelings would just suddenly jump on you, but you are aware it’s not good.

For one, you’re not exactly anyone special and Cyno is the General Mahamatra. You think he should be with someone with more comparable status.

Cyno isn’t the type to have feelings for anyone, and if he did you can only guess it’s someone like Nilou.

Come on, stoic cold boy and lively pretty girl? It’s a match.

Little do you know Cyno actually already has someone he likes.

When he and Kaveh comes over to Gandharva Ville for lunch, he often looks around to see if you’re here.

Kaveh and Tighnari throw knowing looks at each other as you finally appear and Cyno immediately gets out of his seat.

The two silently make a bet on whether or not Cyno will confess to you.

Ok but can I talk about how Genius Invokation TCG is played by everyone in the Detective club. Like Cyno got them all into in and now they all have wildly different play styles and are regularly competing against each other and looking for ways to counter each other.

Diluc had like a deck that's all about controlling the field.

Yanfei has a deck that's all about rule loopholes.

Heizou's is about predicting enemy plays.

Cyno's just a powerhouse deck that's totally broken and Everyone is trying to beat him. (Thinking about my brother's Colorless Eldrazi MTG Deck. I'm a Red/Blue prowless person but I got a decent Black/White control. Tho i haven't played since Kaladesh)

imagine cyno taking you out on a boba date~! a new place nearby has opened up and he's just dying to take you there! but of course, once you arrive on the grand opening day, there's a long line... but it's okay, because it's perfect to make conversation <3

he'll ask you all sorts of questions - how school's been, what foods you like, your hobbies - up until it's finally your turn to order. once you've both gotten your drinks after an unfortunately long wait, the need for conversation has died down and you're content just sitting with each other, sipping at your drinks and trying each other's as the bustle of other customers goes on around you. maybe he'll take out his phone to share music with you, or show you something cute or funny he saw the other day, but it's mostly you two just being happy in each other's space <3

and maybe you catch him stealing sips of your drink once or twice, and maybe his eyes linger a bit on your lips when you let go of the straw, and maybe a flush spreads across his face when you ask for a bit of his drink... he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable though (and maybe he's a little shy), so he waits until you're out of the cafe in a more private place before he kisses you <3
