Uhhhhhh.. Y/n stops mid reading as he tries to think over what exactly he was missing.

Everything seemed to be here. Everything he needed to make chewy sugar cookies and then some- “OH!!” Y/n shouts as it clicks, quickly putting down the unstirred bowl of raw cookie dough.

 He was forgetting molasses.

See this year, Y/n was planning to make not just gingerbread cookies but also a gingerbread house! After all it was a family tradition he enjoyed and well….It would also be his and Taishiro’s 2 year anniversary as a couple. Y/n felt his cheeks warm up at the pleasant memories and what it meant to make and decorate a gingerbread house together meant to him.

As in his family when single couples made one it showed that they were serious, a show of what could be their future together. It was silly and honestly a dated tradition. But if there was one thing he looked fondly on, it was helping his dad make one for his mother and getting the chance to make a mini dog house to match. 

Half the time both of them burnt the cookie sheet and his mom would come rushing in thinking they set something on fire.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Y/n grabbed his phone and checked the time. Most stores were closing around this time and Taishiro should be coming home in 5 minutes. 

Maybe if he could make it if he ran out now. With that plane y/n was just about to shrug on his coat and shoes when the sound of  Taishiro opening the door echoed from down the hall.

“y/n! I got your text but uh..I didn’t exactly know which king of molasses to get?”

 Taishiro calls out mumbling the last part as he makes his way further into the apartment getting hit with the smell of warm vanilla. Y/n perks and rushes to him for a hug which taishiro gladly gave with one arm. “Tai-kun you are a lifesaver! Also welcome home~” y/n sighs out

Chuckling taishiro shuffled you both further into the living room, y/n finally letting go after calming down. He loves that taishiro has that effect on him. Y/n takes the back peeking into it seeing multiple bottles of molasses. Thinking that you’re well distracted sorting through those, Taishiro creeps into the kitchen following his nose.

Taishiro took in the sort of mess that was the kitchen. Y/n wasn’t the type to just leave a mess while he was cooking, so what was there was just extra dough and used equipment on standby.  Glancing back seeing his little chef heading his way still going through the bag, taishiro quickly snags a bit of the already mixed cookie dough.

“Ah! Taishiro Toyomitsu! Get out of here if you’re gonna snack on raw cookie dough!” Y/n huffs putting the bag on the counter to go and nudge him out. This man. “Waaah but Y/n it’s not like I’ll get sick from a little~” Taishiro whines playfully while watching you like a sad puppy.  Y/n sniffs unmoved, after all this isn’t the first time he did this.

“Sweetheart this batch is for your ducklings. I have something else for us.” he explains after a few more minutes of hearing Taishiro whine as you stir and shape the cookies. Taishiro shrinks and moves to wrap his arms around him laying his head on top of y/n. “Heh , off you’re still sweaty from work.” y/n mumbles half serious, didn’t really mind.

“Oh yeah? You didn’t have too but I’m sure the boys will love it…”

Y/n nudges the now empty bowl into the since and turns around to give him a kiss. “Mm of course I do. But for us, I’m thinking of a gingerbread house?” Y/n asks, picking at Taishiro’s shirt unsure. Taishiro thinks for a second, remembering a long while back y/n mentioning this to him. He blushes at the thought of his sweetheart willing to do this with him.

Quickly Taishiro lifts y/n up and onto the counter “stay right here.” He says quickly putting the cookies into the preheated oven and swiftly coming back to you. Making himself home between y/n’s legs, who chuckles sliding his arms over his shoulders. “Mm happy that I asked?~”

Taishiro nods nuzzling y/n neck and placing soft kisses there tugging the ends of his shirt. “I just love when you want to share these types of things with me. Gets me all warm and needy.”

I love him. Anyway, I’m so hyped for christmas (quarantine really got me hopefully only another month) and this one was definitely self indulgent to kick off this whole holiday prompt thing.

This is about to be long because I’m answering for Tessirei, Tessigami, and Tesshiro. And don’t worry, I specify who is who in the answers. 😆

1. Who is the better cook?

Reiner: Me although Reiner tries so hard and he’s got a few of my favorite comfort foods down pretty well for when I’m feeling down.

Kunigami: Kunigami but he does love when I cook for him too.

Taishiro: We’re probably equally good. Taishiro loves to cook as much as I do so whenever possible, we’re in the kitchen cooking side by side.

2. Who takes longer showers?

Reiner: Me. Not that Reiner won’t take his time from time to time but I usually take longer in general.

Kunigami: We’re probably about equal in our time in the shower. He has a specific routine that takes probably as long as I do.

Taishiro: Me. Unless Taishiro has had a long day. He’s not in and out by any means. I just can sometimes linger longer than he does.

3. Who is more organized?

Reiner: Reiner. I’m always misplacing things but he always knows where everything is.

Kunigami: Kunigami. This man keeps everything organized and will even organize my stuff for me.

Taishiro: We are both chaos. I call it an organized mess. Not that we’re messy. Things always go back where they belong. It’s just never organized unless I’m stressed and decide to deep clean and organize everything.

4. Who generally spends more money?

Reiner: I do but Reiner encourages it. He loves to spoil me.

Kunigami: We’re probably about equal with it. He will spend more than I do if we’re buying things for each other for an anniversary or birthday or something though.

Taishiro: Taishiro does and it’s usually because he’s buying things for me every chance he gets. If he sees something that reminds him of me, he gets it for me immediately.

5. Who likes sleeping in more?

For every selfship the answer to this one is me. Each of the guys will sleep in with me if I can get them to do it though. Kunigami is the hardest to convince out of them though. Taishiro and Reiner will usually give in pretty quickly, especially if it’s a day off.

6. Who is the better driver?

In every selfship, it’s them. I have too much anxiety about driving to really do it often (if at all) so I let them do the driving and they’re all happy to do it.

7. Who is the most stubborn?

Reiner: Reiner is. I can be stubborn but this man will dig in his heels and just not let go.

Kunigami: Kunigami. Again, it’s nearly annoying how stubborn he can be. While he lets me have my way more often than not, if he sets his mind to something, that’s it.

Taishiro: Me. Taishiro has his moments but especially with me, he is so easy going.

8. Who is the most romantic?

In every selfship, it’s them. It’s not that I don’t try but they all just blow me out of the water with their little gestures and things. (Kunigami has a habit of leaving me post-it notes in the bento boxes he makes for me for lunches even.)

9. Who is more laid back?

In every selfship, it’s me. Taishiro might be the most laid back of the three though. I’m still more laid back though and I’m often the one getting them to relax with me.

10. Who is more likely to ask for directions?

Reiner: Reiner will be he hates having to do it.

Kunigami: Me but that’s only because Kunigami is so sure that he’s right. But if I tell him we should be going a different way after I get directions, he’ll listen to me.

Taishiro: We’re pretty equal although maybe he does more and that’s just because he’s the one driving.

11. Who is the blanket hog?

No matter the selfship, it is me. Each of them runs warmer than I do so they’ll let me do it though.

12. Who is more likely to lose their phone?

With Reiner and Kunigami, it is me. I could have had it in my hand a minute earlier and I’ll still lose it.

With Taishiro, we’re pretty equal. Taishiro sometimes just doesn’t remember where he has set it down. I can have my phone in my hand and ask where it is.

13. Who initiated the first kiss?

Reiner: We kind of danced around it a little together so it’s hard to say who really initiated it. It was more of a mutual thing.

Kunigami: He did. Complete with asking if he could kiss me first and everything.

Taishiro: It was me. Taishiro was so shy and I just sort of went for it.

14. Who fell in love first?

Reiner: Reiner did. Mostly because he was already falling for me before we even spoke for the first time.

Kunigami: I did, mostly because he denied it at first and I had had a crush on him years before we reconnected.

Taishiro: It was Taishiro. He decided he loved me before he even really spoke to me for more than a few minutes.

15. Who planned the honeymoon?

In every selfship, this was something we did together. Each of them did set up the honeymoon themselves but picking the place was something we did together.

1. who is the better cook?

him for sure, although neither of us are too big of a fan of cooking. i think he just tolerates it more than i do, although i do think there are some recipes he legitimately enjoys

2. who takes longer showers?

me. idk if its the adhd but i tend to forget how much time i spend in there and before i know it, he has to poke his head into the bathroom as a passive aggressive way of telling me that i stole all the hot water 😭

3. who is more organized?

him for sure. a point of contention with us is that i'm way too messy and it drives him through the roof. some boundaries had to be established and while it still makes him grumpy sometimes, he respects my space

4. who generally spends more money?

neither? technically me because if i get fixated on something, i'll tend to impulse shop but usually limit it to small-ish things or wait until they're on sale! he likes buying specialty teas and coffees and sometimes those can get kinda pricey, so i think we roughly break even

5. who likes sleeping in more?

hmm. i think this is difficult to answer because we both suffer from pretty bad insomnia. i think if it's who ends up sleeping in for longer, it's me. i'm the type that'll take like 4-5 hours to fall asleep but i can stay asleep once the sun rises (which is incredibly annoying) his insomnia is the type where he can get shut-eye for like 20 minutes at a time, which usually translates to him getting out of bed as soon as the sun starts to rise regardless of if he slept or not

6. who is the better driver?

im a passenger princess (✿◡‿◡) but also because driving gives me anxiety because i've gotten into accidents before, so he just does it for me, so it's levi for sure

hard to say. i think me. he usually gives in first because he gets way too irritated and is just like "whatever".

8. who is the most romantic?

neither 👁️👄👁️ at least not in the traditional sense. maybe me because i'm a sucker for romantic sunset walks (✿◡‿◡) but also him because sometimes he'll leave cute little notes around the house for me and it makes me melt (i have a little collection of them :3)

me. i think he's overall more extra or particular than i am. and this isn't in regards to him needing clean spaces. that's fine. i'm talking about the extra amount of work he constantly puts into every little thing, especially when it comes to house projects or even picking out toys for the cats. whereas i'm just kinda like...as long as it's not doing harm, convenience is king

10. who is more likely to ask for directions?

me. and it's a silly reason. like yes, i'm directionally confused a lot but i think levi would want to just. wander around and hope we get unlost and i'm not interested in doing that.

also me 😅 i get very fitful when my insomnia acts up, which usually translates into me wanting to hug something (why, you ask? no idea), whether it's him, a pillow, my plushie, or (in most cases), the blanket.

him. he's technologically confused, which translates him to just not really using his phone unless he has to. it also means he's shit at answering texts on time >:(

him because i was too shy 😅 i still thought it was some kind of joke as to why he was even interested in me, so i never really made a move.

hard to say. probably me since i was crushing on him forever, but he was the one that reached out and started stuff soooooo who knows

Think Koushiro and Taichi would do anything special for Christmas?

- It’s their anniversary!!! Because Koushirou asked him out on Christmas please let me have this

-Christmas, especially Christmas Eve, in Japan is a lover’s holiday so I feel like their traditions leans more towards that, where they go to a nice restaurant and exchange gifts, but they usually make it a little extra special because it’s got the dual sentiment. Like go a little extra on the presents or have a super expensive dinner.

- I also imagine they probably walk around and take in the lights. Maybe some years they’ll go into Tokyo and spend the night and some years stay in Odaiba.

-They might get a small cake if it’s not too sweet. Taichi will usually have a pretty healthy amount either way and if Tentomon and Agumon are around they have no problems finishing it off when they bring it home. 

-Christmas Eve is technically Sora and Yamato’s anniversary so I imagine they probably double date most years and even when they’re all married and celebrate their wedding anniversaries instead, they still try to meet up, even when they have kids and bring along their digimon maybe so it’s just a big family event for them.

“Anniversary” is the fourth chapter in my collection of Taishiro stories, Sunflowers Along the Road. It deals mildly with sexual themes between young adults, in a non-graphic way.

“Anniversary” is my love letter to Our War Game. I have read and re-read this story so many times before finally publishing it. It stands on its own, but I also think that it is the most important chapter in SATR. There is a definite feeling of “Before Anniversary” and “After Anniversary.”

♡ Of course! I hope you enjoy this!

♡ Shouta and Hizashi got married in their mid-twenties, a bit after Shouta finally got on the teaching band wagon. For their one year anniversary, Hizashi surprised Shouta with a cat. It was a little, pure black lady with only one bright green eye, one that Shouta recognized from the cat café him and Hizashi would frequent. Her name was Coffee Bean and she was the first of their three cats.

♡ The second cat would be Cocoa Bean, a big, fluffy brown cat that Shouta had tempted out of a storm drain with a piece of a Big Mac. He'd wrapped the big goofball in his jacket and carried him the whole way home, giving Hizashi the sweetest puppy eyes when he finally got back. Of course Hizashi couldn't say no to him!

♡ Their third and final cat was Jellybean. He was a velvet grey-blue kitten with bright, baby blue eyes, that surprised Hizashi outside of his radio station on his way home. He scooped the little thing up and presented him to Shouta like an offering. Seeing this tiny, wiggly beast made Shouta's baby space rear up for the first time in the form of a soft whisper of, "Kitty…" The kitten was affectionately named after the empty packet of candy he personally dug out of the garbage to play with.

♡ Regression wasn't something Shouta indulged in much since the death of Oboro, and that was years ago by now. When he did get the chance to regress or had involuntary drops he would only want two things: Mama and kitties. Not always in that order.

♡ Mama cannot blame him for wanting some quality kitty time! They're the perfect animal, don't you know? A house cat’s genome is 95.6 percent tiger, all packed into an adorable little body! Hizashi can't compete with that, he doesn't even have 0.1 percent of tiger in HIS genome.

♡ The Beans are often subject to being softly meowed at when Hizashi was too busy to play with him. He'd make all the good sounds: mews, prrps, mrrps, mrows‐ All the cat noises! He considers himself fluent in cat, especially when he can get one of the cats to respond. Jellybean is usually the chattiest of the three, always having something to talk about!

♡ Hizashi encourages this behavior because, hey, it's cuter than sin to watch his usually stoic husband loaf–sometimes literally, he is VERY committed to his cat LARPing–around in his calico kigurumi, qnd make the softest purr-chirps at Coffee Bean. Asking if the Beans have said anything interesting today while he's doing the dishes, to which Shouta will reply that EVERYTHING they say is interesting, and regale him with the he said she saids of cat conversation.

♡ Each cat is given a specific way of talking when Shouta tells their sides of things. Jellybean always speaks in third person because he's the baby, and has always been up to some mischief. Cocoa Bean speaks a lot like Taishiro, because he's a big, sweet, lovable boy that has a lot of wisdom to share. And dear old Coffee Bean is very posh and regal because she is the eldest and was adopted from the cat café so she has excellent grammar.

♡ Shouta has one of those hoodies with the cat pouch on the front and will hold it open for the kitties whenever they're perched on one of their many cat towers. Jellybean often somersaults off the tower and into the pouch, just to write about and DEMAND out not even a moment later, in one of those long-winded kitten screams. Cocoa is the only one that actually allows Shouta to carry him around in the pouch, but he is also very heavy and just barely fits.

♡ Shouta doesn't care about this because he says Cocoa deserves only the best in life, while painstakingly carrying him to sit on the balcony with him.

♡ Coffee likes to ride around on Shouta's shoulders while he's doing his little activities, nuzzling her head up under his chin while he's coloring at the table or pawing the lid of his sippy cup when he has something tasty to drink.

♡ Something that Shouta tells Hizashi every time he's curled up in their bed with his head against Hizashi's shoulder is that the Beans said they love him, even if they sometimes don't know how to show it or they get too flustered to say it themselves.

♡ Hizashi knows that the Beans didn't say this, but he kisses Shouta's temple so softly and replies, "Well, I love the Beans too, but don't tell them that I love you the most."

♡ (Shouta tells the Beans regardless.)

Notes:

This A.M.V. is currently semi- (mostly) / FINISHED. As of now, the preliminary version up until ending is completed. Hopefully you find some enjoyment so far though! - The intro and Koushiro’s section took about 1 hour 15 min alone. - Taichi’s section took another 25~30 min or so (I’m rounding Taichi’s out to about 25.) - The 2nd to last finishing touch took another 45 min of editing for an about 17 second section. - This last one took almost 1 hour more. - And finally, the final stretch was 2 hours 35 min; (Add that all together, and it’s about) almost 6~ hours in total. (this time, it crashed multiple times in-between! I managed to save it!!) As a result of crashings occuring, I tend to use longer clips towards the middle and end. 🍡 It was over nothing. Something small and insignificant, but strangely neither of you could drop the argument. Instead of walking away to simmer off and apologise later, you kept disagreeing; you kept pushing.

🍡 Right up until Taishiro slammed his hands down onto the kitchen table that stood between the both of you, the sudden and terrifyingly loud noise silencing you in an instant.

🍡 Taishiro had been silenced by something else though. His argument had died off when he saw the way you jumped in response, nearly tripping over yourself to step away from him. To put distance between the two of you.

🍡 He could see the panic in your eyes, the fear.

🍡 No noise was made as Taishiro closed his eyes, taking a deep breath to calm himself of the stupidly unneeded anger that had been bubbling up inside of him; willing it to disappear until he was calm enough to right the fear reflecting in your eyes.

🍡 Despite being such a large man, standing at a full 8’2” inches tall, he was good at approaching frightened people. It came with the job.

🍡 And so, when he knew he would have the patience to help you, he opened his eyes and moved to approach. Slowly, with movements you could both see and understand; reaching out towards you with his palm facing up. Not quite daring to touch you until he knew you would be comfortable with it.

🍡 “Baby doll, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare ya…c’mere…you know I won’t ever hurt ya” – He spoke softly, the sort of tone someone would use for a lost or injured animal; the kind of voice that made you want to run into his warm embrace.

🥞 Mirio rarely gets upset when he isn’t working as a pro-hero and even then, it’s an unusual sight; villains are the only ones that get to see his enraged moments.

🥞 Which is what threw you off most when you were arguing with the blonde bombshell of a man; it was over something silly. Unimportant. But in no time at all, it had turned into angry remarks and hurt feelings.

🥞 Shouting followed soon after. That’s when you had thrown in the towel, deciding it was better to leave the conversation for a time when Mirio wasn’t so wound up; but when you tried to leave the room, he had grabbed a hold of your arm.

🥞 While it hadn’t been enough to hurt you, it was enough to startle you into knocking over a nearby object. Though you had no idea what it was until you heard it; the shattering sound of your dearly loved vase. The one with sunflowers that Mirio had brought you as a present for your first anniversary with him.

🥞 Mirio had gone silent at the way you recoiled from the sudden noise, his grip on you disappearing and allowing you to flee the room before you had enough time to process what had happened.

🥞 It had taken Mirio longer than he wanted to admit before he went to check on you, he had actually left the shared home for a few hours; long enough for you to tidy up the broken vase.

🥞 When he found you in the house, you were sitting quietly in the kitchen with some glue and red stained fingertips; trying your best to fix the old anniversary gift with little to no luck and a lot of accidents.

🥞 “…(Name)…? I’m…I’m sorry about earlier, scaring you like that…” – Mirio’s voice was barely above a whisper as he approached the kitchen table, gently setting down a rather large brown bag before moving to kiss the top of your head despite the way you ignored his presence.

🥞 You hadn’t had plans to forgive him yet, the present had meant a lot to you and now that it was broken; you were left feeling strange. Upset. Confused and unsure as to what was going to happen next.

🥞 But that changed the moment Mirio removed the contents of the brown bag he had brought in, a replica of the broken vase now sitting safely in the middle of the kitchen table.

🥞 An apology given without needing to be asked for. It was all you needed to know that he really did care about you, that he hadn’t meant for things to get so out of hand earlier in the day.

🐙 For Tamaki, loud arguments with you was something that never happened; he was too anxious for such things on a normal day. However, weeks of late nights and early mornings left you in bed without him most of the time and it was beginning to eat away at the both of you.

🐙 He had gotten home around lunch time for the first time in a long time and his mood wasn’t the best, then again, yours wasn’t much better. Especially when he announced that he had asked for the rest of the day off to come home.

🐙 That’s what had started it. You were hurt by the simple statement, not having realised that he could request to come home earlier than he was asked to; but what hurt most was how uncaring Tamaki seemed to be when you voiced such complaints to him.

🐙 It only took a few minutes before Tamaki was arguing back with you, his words short and sharp; the complete opposite to the usual Tamaki you loved. The Tamaki that was warm and gentle with you, the Tamaki that always seemed to be able to split up his time between work and home just right.

🐙 You had actually flinched away from him when he raised his voice, the loud command for you to shut up completely silencing you and while that was exactly what he had been after; you could see how horrified he was at himself for actually shouting at you.

🐙 It was an alarming change in pace for the two of you and when Tamaki reached out for you, his mouth opening to let out an apology you could see written all over his features.

🐙 You ran.

🐙 You left the house and in doing so, you also left behind your keys and phone by mistake; giving Tamaki no way of contacting you. Which destroyed him.

🐙 It was hours before you were found again and even then, Fatgum had been the one to find you; having been searching along with Tamaki and Eijiro. Though they had split up to cover more ground.

🐙 Once you had been checked for injuries, Fatgum took you back to his office with a casual conversation about how hectic things had been over the past few weeks and how grateful he was for Tamaki’s help.

🐙 A conversation you weren’t so keen to have, but one you ended up being grateful for. Giving out information that you hadn’t been aware of, leaving you feeling more than a little ashamed at how selfish you had been to be angry at Tamaki for not asking to come home early sooner.

🐙 He had been flat out helping Fatgum and doing his best to come home to you each day.

🐙 By the time Tamaki had returned to Fatgum’s office after getting the call that you were safe and sound, you were practically in tears and apologising to him relentlessly while he held you close. Mumbling about how happy he was that you were safe, his own apologies for shouting almost burying your own.

🐙 The goodbye to Fatgum and Eijiro was awkward, they had heard everything through the walls and were trying their best not to let you know that they had heard while you thanked them for searching for you.

🐙 With the stressful events of the day over with, you finally got to go to bed with Tamaki; safely snuggled up against his side, enjoying his loving embrace and soft mumbles of affection.
