“Okay, my dude,” Jonghyun says, lifting on hand from Taemin’s hip to gently tangle in his hair. He pulls Taemin’s head back from his neck and sighs at his lidded, out of focus pupils and slack little smile. “I told you to stop kissing me, like, ten minutes ago already,” he says.

Jonghyun sighs slowly at the ceiling, head tilted way too far against the back of the couch as Taemin slurs little words into his neck. The rest of the house party bustles around them, but he’s been here for the better part of an hour, holding Taemin in his lap so he doesn’t go being a sloppy drunk mess all over anyone else.

Like, literally holding, firmly, in place, because the last time he let go of Taemin’s hips they started slowly grinding forward against his. He didn’t get a full boner, probably because his brain is too fucking wasted to send all the right signals down there, but Jonghyun can still feel his half hard ween pressing against his leg as Taemin nuzzles him.

This isn’t exactly how he pictured his night going when he showed up to Jinki’s place.

“Mmm, I really love you,” Taemin mumbles against his skin. “I really really want you to know that. I really wanna tell you all the time. I love you a really whole lot. And I’m demi, so that’s like. An extra lot. Of love. From you… from… fr--for you. For--from--from me.”

This also isn’t how he expected Taemin to confess to him, either. He never expected Taemin to confess to him at all, ever. He pats Taemin’s hip gently instead of replying because he’s kind of just sad about this whole situation. He knows Taemin, and he knows drunk Taemin. He’s super far gone right now and he’s not going to remember any of this. And he definitely wouldn’t want to be saying all of this sober.

Like, it’s nice and all; Taemin is cute and would probably be a good boyfriend and everything, but still. Jonghyun feels gross for sitting here and listening to something Taemin wouldn’t want him to know, but he knows that he would feel grosser if he abandoned Taemin to wander around the house all slurry and wiggly and touchy by himself.

Taemin’s lips on his neck stop making words and instead just press against his skin, warm breaths puffing out and making him feel all moist and sticky on one side. Jonghyun thinks about shifting Taemin in his lap so his mouth moves, then decides against it. If Taemin is finally passing out he doesn’t want to disturb that.

After another few minutes, Taemin’s lips start to kiss him instead and he sighs. Holy shit. He waits a few moments to make sure that Taemin is really trying to kiss up on him again and not just doing some weird drunk shit; when Taemin bites lightly and starts sucking a hickey into him he calls it.

“Okay, my dude,” he says, lifting on hand from Taemin’s hip to gently tangle in his hair. He pulls Taemin’s head back and sighs at his lidded, out of focus pupils and slack little smile. “I told you to stop kissing me, like, ten minutes ago already,” he says.

“Oh,” Taemin mumbles. He blinks slowly, rubs one hand clumsily into his eye, and lets it fall onto Jonghyun’s shoulder. “I forgot,” he says. Jonghyun snorts. He forgot twenty minutes ago, too.

“Stop it,” he says sternly. Taemin nods, a sheepish little thing, and Jonghyun lets him nestle himself back in against his neck. He can’t imagine that it’s a pleasant experience, what with all of the spit on there now, but Taemin doesn’t seem to have any complaints. He creeps both little hands around Jonghyun’s shoulders and clings to him tightly, mumbling more little things that Jonghyun doesn’t catch. Jonghyun hopes he actually falls asleep soon. For being a scrawny little shit his weight is still heavy over Jonghyun’s thighs and it’s starting to get uncomfortable.

Letting his head loll to the side, he quickly scans the rest of the party. Mm. Well. At east he’s not missing out on talking to anyone he knows. Jinki is off mingling or whatever, but he can talk to Jinki whenever he wants anyway, so he doesn’t count. He almost makes eye contact with a person that looks like they wouldn’t mind a conversation with someone with a drunken little goober in their lap, but before he can smile at them, Taemin makes a louder noise and shifts closer like he wants attention.

Jonghyun sighs and goes back to staring at the ceiling, squeezing Taemin’s side with one hand.

“What?” he asks blandly.

“Mmmh… why don’t you like my butt anymore?” Taemin asks.

“What?” Jonghyun asks, the repeat question a breathy laugh. That’s not what he was expecting at all. Taemin whines, actually makes a long noise high in his throat, and wiggles against Jonghyun like a little kid.

“You used to always touch my butt all the time always and now you’re not,” he pouts. “You haven’t even tried today,” he adds. His voice is hurt and rejected, and if Jonghyun didn’t know any better, he would think there was a hint of a tear in there. Honestly, he wouldn’t put it passed drunk Taemin to actually be the one to cry for once. Even over something like an absence of butt touching.

“I mean,” he says. He never really noticed his excessive touching or lack of touching of Taemin’s before. And now wouldn’t exactly be a good time to start. “You are drunker than I’ve ever seen you before in my life and I would feel gross for touching your butt when you’re like this?” he says. He feels like even for drunk Taemin that should make sense. Still, Taemin whines and wiggles and paps his little hands all over Jonghyun’s shoulders.

“But you always liked my butt and you always wanted to touch it and I liked it because I like my butt and I like you and I like you touching my butt but now you’re not and I don’t know why and I want you to touch my butt because it feels nice and your hands are, like, really warm and strong and they felt really good on my butt and I just really want you to touch m--”

“Okay okay okay, fine, I’ll touch your butt,” Jonghyun says quickly. Taemin wasn’t breathing much during that whole thing and Jonghyun feels like a gentle hand pap on the booty will be more okay than letting Taemin talk himself to death in his lap. He slips both hands from Taemin’s hips to rest over the back pockets of his jeans, patting his butt sweetly.

It is a nice butt, to be honest. Very cute and plush. Taemin hums the longest, most contented noise into his skin and squeezes him tight. Jonghyun rolls his eyes, a smile creeping onto his lips. He’s so cute sometimes. He lets his hands just rest there, very lightly, without trying to actually feel or pull him closer. This is nice, he guesses. Some nice sitting time with Taemin practically purring into his neck. He bets Taemin will fall asleep for real soon.

Soon, he feels Taemin’s lips kissing up on his neck again instead and sighs. Maybe he’ll just let Taemin glom onto him like this all night. Just a hickey. It’ll be easier than constantly pulling him away and he’ll have some evidence in the morning to hopefully convince Taemin to never get this drunk again. It’ll save the both of them a headache.

A Review on NCT 127′s 3rd Album <Sticker>

So NCT 127 just came back with their 3rd Full Album <Sticker> and this is my first 127 comeback since I became a fan last year! Neozone is such a special album for me as it was their first album that I explored entirely. I've known NCT as the group who never fails any expectations so I've kept mine up although I know they'll exceed it anyway. And guess what, they did! I absolutely love their new album hence this review~

This isn't a technical music review—as I am not a musician myself—but rather a listener's honest takes, goofy notes, and interpretation on each of the tracks in the album. I admit I've also struggled to build my own opinions on some of the tracks until I listened to them over and over again.

I have also heard there are mixed opinions on the title track <Sticker> and a lot says it's another acquired taste. But I think it's not just that, as it can be a grower, just like how most of NCT's songs were for me. Maybe after a few listens and a right passage of time, it will grow on those people. The bottom line here is, I like it a lot! 😛

So I listed down the songs according to their respective track numbers and followed each with a bulleted list of my opinions and interpretations.

1. Sticker

THEY DIDN'T JUST PUNCH A NEW NOTCH ON THE BELT LIKE THAT

THIS SONG SLAPS, LITERALLY SLAPS… AND WHIPS 

The recorder at the intro boyyyy I thought something was wrong but then I remember it’s NCT lmao

It already stuck in my head from my first listen from the Instagram audio.

With Taeyong opening the verse with his divine rapping, I knew I'm in for a new ride.

STICK-UH STICK-UGH STICK-UGHGHGH

To those complaining it sounding like noise music, imagine it sounding generic. I don't think it would fit as the title track. Not a b-track or in their repertoire, even. They are called NCT because they define the NEO in the music culture and music technology!

It honestly was an unorthodox, just like all of their title tracks, which I’m inherently here for.

Literally, no one does it like them!

The growls and the vocal flexes and adlibs! (You can tell it has Yoo Youngjin's brand.)

The crisp metronome sound that’s consistently ticking except for the pre-chorus and the dance break adds depth to the soundscape. I love how it’s used instead of the usual snaps.

The production quality blew my mind. Like how can someone think those melodies would sound so exquisite? CAN I CALL THEM GENIUS?

The piano at the back, oh my God—Yes! It adds this mystifying element to the song.

I'm not sure if it's a midi violin at the pre-chorus, but it added thrill to the song. It was a great transition from the bass line in the verses to the combination of the flawless harmony with the same instrumental.

"You treat me like a boy, like a grown-up child chasing a dream" JUNGWOO BABY NO MORE HUH

Taeil, Doyoung, and Haechan—the bridge vocal trinity!

But why the heck are they cowboys? I dig the concept, but why? LMAO

BTW GUNSLINGER MARK I’M ON MY KNEES YEEHAW

This is easily one of my favorite tracks from NCT 127's entire discography 💚

2. Lemonade

Jaehyun starting off this song with his deep voice eee

The song opens to a verse oozing with chill confidence. They're like, yeah you're lurking because we’re cool.

This is such a huge slap to their haters. NCT's not chillin' like a villain, nah they're the main characters!

Well maybe they’re villains, but still ya not cooler than them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Funny enough how they could have just referred haters as simply lemons whose sour/bitter to the taste, but 127 squad's success is sweeter than all the haters' spiteful remarks so yeah, SIPPY SIPPY LEMONADE 🧃

"WOOF"

I might have just barked too wOW

Yuta’s vocals hooooO his voice just sounds so glamorous mhmm

Also Mark referencing their previous title tracks such as: Firetruck, Cherry Bomb, and Regular (it's Irregular in the lyrics) in his rap part 👌💅

I just love Mark's energy when he raps. HE RESOLUTELY BITES AND STRAIGHT UP EATS EVERY TIME HE DOES.

3. Breakfast

Now breakfast time, oh jeez!

AAAHAHFU—

Summer 127's bestie!

If Summer 127 talks about dancing all night long, Breakfast is the morning after.

You know what it is.

"Even if I gulp and drink you, it's not enough for me." oho Taeyong no you ha—STOP

Sexual innuendos aside, isn't it just sweet if someone tells you they'd want to have breakfast with you every day?  Okay maybe I'm melting at the thought 😩🙈💞

And I can see myself dancing to this song as I make breakfast (in the afternoon or at midnight bc I’m crazy)

This was an okay b-track for me at the first skim on the album, but boy it grew on me wildly.

Honestly one of my favorite tracks in this album.

4. Focus

Did I just invade a private call? LMAO

The analog voice filters make it like so.

Dude, this feels intimate in the level of eavesdropping a phone call between seasoned lovers. Then you realize you hear them whispering their kinks over the line and you're ooh, that's sexy! hfgklhfhf

My first listen to this, I almost went feral because,

"I can't wait to eat you…" when it's actually "I can't wait 'til we chill…" aahaha

"Baby call me when you want me." OKAY!

This sounds relaxing and chill. I'd love to play this on a late night drive or just before bed time along with Fly Away With Me, Sun & Moon, My Youth, and Long Flight.

I'd be kidding if I don't say I could touch myself while listening to this song AHAHAFGHFJFJ

I didn't know this would grow on me this much lol I love love LOVE THIS!

5. The Rainy Night

Ooh, the holy melancholy!

Piano at the intro—I knew I'd cry to this.

This song isn't just about break-up, but the heartbreak after one.

The yearning; the remnant pieces from the shattering of what was once there.

I think I crumbled from this one.

This hit so hard I felt like I fit in the shoes with the lyrics throughout the entire song.

What’s fascinating is I clearly forgot the title when I mentally said this sounds like a sad rainy day song from the first listen.

Something I’d turn up when it suddenly rains, just because I want to feel the blues.

Taeil and Haechan singing in lower register? I wanna cry :( they’re just one of the best vocalists in K-music industry right now.

Could have been also nice if they added Yuta to the vocals.

"My selfish heart who waits for you to come back," OKAY WHO HURT THEM?

And the fact that they sang it so good that it translated every ounce of the emotions well even before I looked up for English translations is the reason why I love this song too.

6. Far

Hmm… What the hell?! Do I like this? Wait...

Alright!

The jumpy vibe from the first verse to the pre-chorus set the mood for this song. It sounds merry and heavy. It was honestly too much to take until I’ve reached the chorus part.

Honestly, I think this song could fit NCT Dream better, as it gives off a vibe similar to Hello Future's b-tracks. If some credible source say this could have made HF’s track list, I might believe you too fast.

Also Dream’s Deja Vu where they go na nananananana na na na~

Playful yet confident! That’s what I mean!

As usual, the vocals are insane! Vocal flex from left to right!

I swear Jungwoo sounded a bit like Taemin at the second verse that I had to replay it hahaha

I love hearing Johnny as a vocalist! SM, how many signs do you need until you utilize his vocal talent???

Taeil's part where he sings, "go nuts, go nuts, 'til we go bust, go bust" IDEK BUT I SNORTED A LAUGH AT FIRST LISTEN HFCAHKFHK

Not my favorite, but still great though!

But wait it’s actually stuck in my head???

7. Bring The Noize

Yes, they never beat those noise music allegations

HERE'S SOME NOIZE, BITCHES

I love me some noisy percussions. AND THE BASS YO

This screams so much confidence!

The build up from the pre-chorus to the chorus—FIRE!

This song reminds me a lot of SuperM's Super Car, especially with the engine roar samples and the battle cry-like singing at the chorus.

JAEHYUN RAPPING? You mean Jaehyun the visual, the vocalist, the actor, the model, the funny dude, aka my everything?! (markie bb look pls look away for a moment)

THEY DELIVERED IT STRAIGHT FROM NEOCITY THAT'S SOME NCT MUSIC RIGHT THERE NO ONE DOES IT LIKE THEM

When I said I'd play Focus on a late night drive, and if I add this in the playlist, VROOM VROOM SPEED LIMIT WHAT

OUTTA MY WAY

“We got no shame” ouh TAEYONG’S FLOW IS JUST VERY HIM AND HE’S IN A LEAGUE OF HIS OWN

You know what's so clever about this song? It's how it ended with Mark's final rap without any instrumental, leaving you  standing there with a doppler effect-like post experience.

A super car on a super speed just whooshed past you and you look its way as it zips through the road. It's gone in an instant but you're floored dumbfounded at a sidewalk. That's how I describe this song.

8. Magic Carpet Ride

This song… Wow. Oh gosh it's so beautiful.

Their harmony in the chorus—it makes me want to kiss someone so passionately that I'd cry.

This makes me want to feel love that transcends the universe. Literally, just please take me on a magic carpet ride :(

The background harmonies too oh my goodness—HEAVENLY.

Jaehyun's voice is so warm and soulful it fits perfectly with songs of this genre.

Okay alright Doyoung Grande!

And Taeil makes me feel like I'm listening to old school R&B.

The first time I heard this from the track video, I can't stop replaying because it's just that great.

This makes me want to love. I think that sums it up.

9. Road Trip

This is such a soothing song for me, especially how I easily become nostalgic thinking about the road trips I've had.

Whenever I listen to this, my brain immediately conjures up thoughts of my ideal getaways. Gazing at the sky through the car window, stirring up from a nap in the middle of the ride, and   eventually reaching your destination.

Oh, to travel around anywhere... (curse you covid-19)

Okay that's it. I'M PACKING UP.

But where do I go—

I could also imagine Mark playing this on the guitar and the other members sing along together, something like that.

Just Wholesome™ vibes.

I love how it evokes such a nice emotion within me effortlessly.

This isn't my favorite, but I still love this.

10. Dreamer

Eyyyy such a refreshing song!

This song is so bright it makes me want to dance. I play this first in the shower!

It reminds me so much of Elevator (from Neozone)

The horns make it more lively I think!

Yuta and Jungwoo's voice suits lively songs like this.

The background vocal in low register in Taeyong's part in the first verse is so good ahhfhf

Taeil, the R&B vocal king you are...

There's this part where Doyoung and Johnny harmonized, that at first listen they seemed to clash, but it sounded actually fine after a few listens. Maybe it's just that I've never heard them do it before.

And I think it's Doyoung's laugh at the end of the bridge? Oh my goodness I really love this too!

11. Promise You

MY FIRST LOVE AND MOST FAVORITE SONG IN THE ALBUM!!!

The first time I heard this from their NCIT Sharehouse Sitcom, I fell in love with the song already.

It sounds like something you'd feel from a warm, welcoming hug.

The lyrics are so beautiful and endearing. It's definitely a be-there-for-you type of song that will touch your heart.

It definitely sounds like a promise.

A song about platonic intimacy.

This really fits to be the closing song of the album. It's like the end of it but holds a promise that says “see you soon.”

Because they cherish their fans like that.

It's also like I've watched a movie with a happy ending, where the camera pans up to the clear sky and this song starts playing.

Speaking of ending, I would love to hear them sing this as an encore stage in their concert. You know, that moment just before the stage lights die down at the end of the concert where they send final blows of flying kisses to NCTzens. Then you come home smiling and crying.

This wasn't supposed to be this long since I originally planned to write this with just simple phrases and emojis but I got too engrossed lol. I also meant to include my own ratings but I figured it’s pointless since I can’t really decide about them hahaha

I really enjoyed the whole album and I love how they're progressively defining what NEO means by breaking through standards. It's not NCT music if it doesn't make you say "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?" But then you realize it’s stuck in your head and you’re enjoying it already.

before being thrown into a supergroup together, aria and baekhyun hadn’t really spoken 

they’d seen each other around the building, and aria was an avid supporter of exo so of course she knew who he was but she wasn’t expecting him to know who she was 

so when aria walked into the practice room and was greeted by baekhyun waving her over and calling her name

sue her if she was a little stunned 

their relationship was a little stilted at the beginning

between the age gap, and baekhyun not having a girl member in a group before, it took a few weeks for the two of them to figure out their dynamic and where they fit around each other 

eventually though

they settled into a pretty comfortable situation

baekhyun tries to put her at ease as much as possible 

there is 8 years in the difference, but you’d swear that its less than half 

although he’s playful and generous with the teasing like he is to other members 

he’s careful to avoid certain topics when it comes to aria, just out of respect for her and not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable

this came to fruition after kai unknowingly made a small comment on how aria “must have been hungry”, considering how fast she was eating

baekhyun knew he didn’t mean anything by it, but he watched aria slowly put down her chopsticks and reach for the bottle of water beside her instead

he didn’t see her eat for the rest of the evening

did kai get in trouble? no but he did get hit lightly over the head

he honestly was the member she took the longest time to warm up to - because she had idolized him for so long

will still refer to him as taemin-ssi occasionally, but now its less a formality and more of a tease

this boy was shook when he found out how young aria was - mark and lucas he can deal with because at least they’re 1999, but aria....

despite their rocky start, they’re quite comfortable around each other, especially after spending a few nights rooming together over the tour

does aria still look for his validation in a lot of her work? yes, but she’s more open about asking for it now then she would have been 

taemin definitely doesn’t have a favourite kid and it’s definitely not aria no why would you think that

aria really out here collecting parents like pokémon

he looks out for her a lot during their schedules, mainly because he knows what its like to be the youngest in a group and how it can feel a little like you don’t really have a place there

so he always makes sure to include her where possible

sitting in a circle in a waiting room while mark toy-ed around with the guitar in his lap, aria sat curled in the corner, humming lightly to herself as taemin sang softly along with mark playing “view”.

quietly, she began to sing soft backing harmonies along with taemin, her eyes still attached to her phone in her hands.

when she felt the device being tugged out of her hands and her being pulled upright by another hand on her arm, she looked up to see taemin smiling brightly, still singing

so they ended up spending their nights on the superm tour talking about stuff ranging from why the sky is blue to why aria stopped ice skating

she started crying and he did not handle it well, bless him

although he’s super chill and fun to be around

he’s also the only non-nct member that seriously scolds her 

when he found her in a practice room lying on the ground (she was Resting, thank you very much) at three in the morning, he dragged her out without a word and brought her back to her dorms in silence 

aria knew he was mad at her, but she thought it was because he had to borderline carry her four blocks down to the nct dorms 

“no you idiot, im angry because you thought that instead of coming to one of us for help with the bits you’re struggling with, you figured hey. let’s pass out instead.” 

he’s so affectionate with her

well aria has that, little sister vibe that makes kai want to wrap her in a blanket and carry her everywhere

she’d hate that, if he tried that she’d scream (he did try that, this is coming from past experience)

taeyong took one look at aria the first time she showed up for group practice and immediately adopted her (not literally but he would if he could)

so so soft for her its sickening 

says he doesn’t have favourites and will then spend an hour cooking for aria because she’s been in the studio the whole day and he knows she hasn’t eaten yet

when aria was given a duet to do for the sm stages, she had to pick another member to do it with and her first choice was taeyong 

she always has said that taeyong is one of the pillars keeping her upright and sane - without him she wasn’t sure if she would have been able to complete her training 

because of all the schedules they share together, if aria isn’t rooming with mark then she’s definitely rooming with taeyong

whenever she does his makeup (more often than you’d think) she point blank refuses to cover his scar, even when he asks her to do so

“please? i don’t like it.” “*gasp* how dare you.”

sleepy aria! snuggling into taeyong’s shoulder when a schedule ran late!

he gets uncomfy when the stylists put her in too revealing clothes, and has spoken to them on numerous occasions about dressing her in age-appropriate attire, no matter how “sexy” the concept might be

he keeps little bags of sugar-dusted strawberry sweets in his bag incase she forgets to eat and feels faint after the last time (they used to be blueberry flavoured but he heard donghyuck throwing out any and all “blueberry-contaminated” food one evening)

I am all here for Kpop idols using their fame and possition to be lowkey rebellious against their countries outdated and homophobic laws.

I saw a video about banned kpop music videos and songs... Damn ridiculous. Among other stupid reasons, there were videos simply banned for displaying homosexuality and being too sensual.

So, maybe...  if some kpop idols actually do some gay / lesbian dance moves or whole queer video concepts, JUST MAYBE take off your western glasses and remember that South Korea is still pretty conservative behind the glam and Kpop is the first thing they have where they can go a bit wild under the cover of entertainment, even though they are still pretty restricted....

I highly believe that this industry has a few LGBTq+ members in the closet. And you can’t just stamp it as queerbaiting and basically demand them to come out in order to be allowed to do gay/lesbian/bi stuff in their music.

Even if they are straight and just do “fanservice”, they still take part in normalizing it and promoting it as something good.

Imagine the drama if some of the top idols would come out, when there is already drama just when some het relationships get suspected... a lot of fans are also still very homophobic and get super mad when you just make a little lgbtq-friendly joke about someones bi-flag-colored shirt...
