1. What is your OC’s favorite color?

Probably brown or green. Lucky she lives in a swamp, isn’t it? Somehow I don’t think Marsha really gives a damn about color, though.

10. What deadly sin would best represent your OC?

Hmmmm maybe envy? He kinda wants to be recognized as one of the most powerful and useful wizards but while he has power, his abilities are more what you’d usually call “a nuisance.” He’s a bit resentful over that.

11. What are your OC’s hobbies?

Apparently baking, as of recently. He also does alchemy and... probably landscaping, via burning down and melting the landscape around him. Fun?

12. How patient is your OC? How hot-headed are they?

He’s surprisingly not that hot-headed for a guy who is made of lava but that doesn’t mean you should pester him incessantly. He DOES have his limits.

Vesper:

14. What foods does your OC like to eat? What are their least favorite foods?

Vesper doesn’t need to eat (none of them do) but they prefer light, sweet but not-to-sweet foods like those little cake things that are hollow inside. I can’t remember the name of them right now. Their least favorite food is definitely liver because of the texture and flavor. Nasty.

15. If your OC could have any pet, what would they choose? Why?

Something nocturnal! Maybe an owl or a raccoon. Probably an owl though, since they sing in the evening.

16. What does your OC smell like?

Night air, wet grass and moonflowers.

Sylvetta:

20. If they came from their world to ours (if not already in ours) how would they react? What would they do?

Well, it would be really weird since Sylvetta looks like a living puppet so I think people would scream and run. But probably she’d just go shopping and hoard a bunch of crap and then take it all home with her and try to figure out if she can mess with it. I think she’d LOVE video games.

21. What personal problems/issues do they have? Pet peeves?

She’s just kinda odd? She’s doesn’t really have any restraint on what she can and will do which causes problems, less for herself than for others. She’s pretty inconsiderate overall and her modus operandi is “who cares, everyone will either die or forget about it in a hundred years anyway so why bother being accountable to anyone” and she’s not totally wrong. She also doesn’t see her “creatures” as fully autonomous (her main ability is creating life, a la Frankenstein, and she’s about as kind and responsible for the life she creates as he is). So there’s that. I could probably list some of her other interpersonal issues but there’s a WHOOOLE lot

As for pet peeves, uh... huh. She doesn’t like termites or fire (for obvious reasons) and she gets annoyed when people bring up shit she did in the past like “MAN that was like three hundred years ago, get over it already!” Like I said, she’s not a fan of Accountability.

22. What kind of student were they/would they be in high school?

Probably a straight-B student. She did complete high school before she did her wizard training, so that’s actually certainly what she was. The kind of student who’s actually really smart but doesn’t care and can’t be bothered, so doesn’t study.

23. What is a random fact about your OC?

Because she’s made of wood she can saw off parts of her own body and reattach/replace them. Which is creepy but sometimes if parts of her crack or wear away, it’s gotta be done!

Illumina:

24. What is their outlook on life? What is their philosophy / what do they think in general about living?

She knows she’s gonna live forever so she tries to be chill about it. Holding on to things is kind of pointless when you know for a fact that life is changeable and things do not stay the same. 

She’s actually quite attached to the other wizards because of this, seeing them as the only constant in her eternal life, but when Molch dies, even that becomes suspect. Which pretty much leaves her to take a “live fast die young wreak havoc and care about nothing” approach.

27. What kind of childhood did your character have?

A pretty good one, if a bit dull. She just lived in the village, went to school, went home. She had a little sister and loving parents who supported her in everything. She actually discovered she had Magical Talents at a young age, probably around the age of 13, but the other wizards refused to train her until she was certain she wanted to take this path. The assumed she wouldn’t, since she had a loving, stable home and a future ahead of her, but she actually did.

28. What kind of nervous habits do they have? Do they stim? Do they have any kinds of addictions?

Sometimes she uses her magic to distract from awkward situations (she’s an illusionist) but she does not stim that I’m aware of yet, and although she may be addicted to Causing Problems on Purpose (delicately, though. Only pranks, she’s not malicious) she doesn’t really have any others.

Molch:

33. Would they ever kill someone? What would someone have to do to push them to kill someone? If they would kill someone, why?

I’m not sure he could kill someone if he wanted to. He’s physically large, clumsy, and slow-moving, with soft delicate skin and a fragile neck. His only real advantage is that he’s big, otherwise he’s more likely to get killed in a physical brawl. His magic isn’t any good for attacking, either.

He’s also too gentle-natured and gullible to really want to kill anyone (or to not be tricked into switching sides).

To push him into attempting to kill... well, yikes. You’d have to not only be a major threat to virtually anyone around you and have done deplorable things to innocent people, but also declare that you have no intention of ever changing and will absolutely do it again.

34. What social groups and activities does your character attend? What role do they like to play? What role do they actually play, usually?

Sometimes he gets visits from the village children, who treat him as a Wise Old Mage, which is funny to him, since Wise is one thing he isn’t! But within the group of wizards, when he gathers with them, he likes to play the role of the Helper and Emotional Support Salamander. In reality he’s usually the goofball, the Team Idiot. He simply isn’t very bright, and the others know it. But he likes to feel needed.

36. What does your character want most? What do they need really badly, compulsively? What are they willing to do, to sacrifice, to obtain?

This is corny but he mostly just wants love and companionship. Unfortunately wizard life isn’t much good for that. He used to keep pets but they’re mortal, obviously, so that’s a problem. He contents himself with the visits he sometimes gets from the villagers. If he can’t live among them, he can at least make himself useful to them.

Actually, that Need to Be Useful is quite a drive as well. He collects things and gives them away to anyone who’ll ask and rarely denies any kind of request. There are things he Won’t do (he won’t hurt anyone else, for example) but any cost to himself is worth it.

Which makes him, in essence, the ultimate self-sacrificer and that’s where the plot comes in!

41. What does your character do when they’re angry? Why?

Molch is one of those people who cries when he’s angry rather than when he’s sad. Since he’s rarely angry, very few people have ever actually seen him cry.

We also learned the book is in the hands of someone who has killed several guardsmen, was last seen heading north and may be serving an Illithid.

Squad rolls out from Rowan's my house my castle, heading to The Pickled Eye Inn for some brekkie/brunch.

En route, the party dicuss some wild dreams they had - Thistle woke up so inspired, she learned a new spell, meanwhile Rowan awoke feeling more dextrous and wise. Ilvar, on the other hand, awoke hungover and without his worms and therefore noticed nothing unusual.

Upon arriving at the inn, Estevaan is noticeable absent. It's a bit early for any rowdiness to have started. Esther, Fi and Re are here already.

Breakfast smoothies arrive (champions eat free!) and the party joins Esther's booth. Fi and Re leave. Esther tells us more about the person who has the book:

Kuu Kalan is powerful, and has a large amount of money. Money talks, no matter how obnoxious he may be. Our party don't look like his usual crowd, unless we enjoy animal cruelty among our hobbies. He is an odd man, and vocal about serving the Dark Lady of The Wood.

Ilvar recognises this name as one belonging to a growing presence in the Great Wood. Creatures go missing in its' part of the woods, and this area has a malicious aura. Zyldi and Thistle agree, recognising their own culture's warnings against that part of the Wood.

Esther continues:

Kuu Kalan wears (tacky) black armor, and he is dangerous. He is often seen transporting items (or people) on behalf of others.

Matreos steps aside to phone a friend - we overhear he calls Lady Sylvetta to update her on who has taken the book, and asks if it is wise to proceed.

A giant blue steak is set in front of Esther. Ilvar checks to see if the Loxodon is still here. Thankfully Zyldi asks what we are all thinking, and Esther explains she enjoys a good Displacer Beast steak in the mornings.

Rowan asks how Matreos was able to communicate, and he describes a spell call Sending (which sounds suspiciously like Twitter). Matreos explains Lady Sylvetta wishes us to proceed, though with caution.

Matreos recalls his previous encounter with Kuu Kalan was rescuing the Kobold who is now Lady Sylvetta's assistant, though in a previous life this Kobold was of high standing in his society and would have been quite the bargaining chip in his clan's politics.

The party follows Esther out of the inn, through the city towards the slums of Tiberium. We stop at the mouth of an alleyway, adjacent to a warehouse. We enter the warehouse to search for clues!

Yay! I finished my part of the art trade with @juliefandom ! It’s a prompt set in the Sister AU she created, where Lucette wasn’t the only child Genaro and Hildyr had. because it’s a bit long I’m going to put it under a read more!

Lucette’s heart had grown cold a very long time ago. She loved nothing and cherished nothing for everything that she had ever loved had been ripped away from her.

Her fingers still remember how cold Imelda's tiny hand had felt in hers. How Lucette had begged and pleaded for any higher power to save her little sister! Imelda had looked even smaller, so weak, so fragile in those last few days of her life. And when she finally left this world she took a piece of Lucette’s heart with her.

Her eyes still remembered Agatha’s mangled body in the main square, the blood flowing down the street. her face mangled and torn. Her beauty destroyed in those last few moments of her life. And another piece of Lucette‘s heart went into the grave with her sister.

Her throat still remembered the scream she emitted when she saw how the people of Angielle tore Sylvetta apart. Lucette wanted to run towards her, to shield her from their pitchforks and their anger, but the knights had held her back. But on that day she had buried her soul next to Sylvetta.

And her heart still remembered breaking as the last part of her family was taken away from her. Lucette remembers finding Palmona in her room. Remembers begging her to wake up, to not leave her as well. To stay, just stay a little bit longer! Lucette should have known that death is a formidable foe and undefeatable.

Her sisters had left and had taken Lucette’s soul with her. Only her body remained behind, only ice was left where her heart should have been. Only apathy remained inside of her.

Lucette just didn’t care anymore.

The only company she accepted anymore were her dolls. The four dolls, that looked eerily similar to the family she had lost, were the only companions she accepted nowadays.

The princess wasn’t cruel. wasn’t angry, wasn’t anything. Lucette was just utterly empty.

She felt nothing when Delora cursed her, she felt nothing when nobody remembered her.

Her world had become a living hell the moment this god forsaken world had taken her sisters from her.

So this? This curse? Was nothing more than a blip in her life.

She wasn’t faced by Delora’s nasty comments, wasn’t touched by Parfaits kindness.

“I have already lost everybody I lost, I do not care if I have to stay here for the rest of my life.”

Delora and Parfait were immediately silenced, staring at the girl that was just an empty shell. Lucette didn’t even want to hear what they had to answer, she stood up and left, after all she had understood her fate. What more was there to add?

She saw Rod in those first days. His eyes filled with hatred and contempt. He hated her for rejecting his sister, for not acknowledging his mother.

“Your sister doesn’t even know what pain feels like. You can talk with me about pain once you held Emelaignes hand in her last hours, like I held Imelda’s.”

She saw the slap a mile away, but the sting didn’t break the ice in her soul. She watched as Rod left the room, returning to the place that would haunt Lucette her entire life.

The princess couldn’t stand being too close to Garlan and Jurien. The sly remarks of them being weak and aweful knights were always on her lips. Until they cornered her, demanding why she hated them so:

“I cannot trust people, who were unable to save the people most important to me. I loathe being in the presence of people who are so weak and useless.”

Lucette’s aura grew darker and darker in the following weeks. She was no closer to breaking her curse, but she also didn’t care.

The intervention shouldn’t have surprised her. The way Delora and Parfait almost demanded that she tried to break her curse, the way Karma and Rumpel fought about who should take her under their wing and Waltz… his eyes filled with worry and a strange kind of longing.

“I do not care. I don’t care about any of you. Everything and I everyone I have ever loved was taken from me. My soul, my heart is buried next to my sisters. Sisters, the likes of you have taken from me! Unless you give can manage to bring them back to me I will never change!“

Not once all evening had Bernadetta felt the need to hide away because the hall was too crowded with strangers or people that whispered behind her back.

All that, combined with the amazing food and lively music, made this the best wedding Bernadetta had ever attended. The next time she got a moment alone with Ignatz and Claude, she planned to praise them and their planning skills.

She felt a hand at her lower back. "You look happy," Sylvain said in her ear. "What are you thinking about?"

It had been a long time since Bernadetta had felt shy about telling her husband what was on her mind. But the specific thing she was thinking sounded rude no matter who she said it to. "Just that this is a great wedding," she answered instead.

Sylvain hummed in agreement, watching Ignatz dance with his mother. "Much better than ours."

Bernadetta practically sagged against his side. "Oh good, you think so too." Sylvain wrapped an arm around her and laughed into her hair. "I didn't want to be mean but you're right!"

"It helps that Ignatz wasn't expected to invite half the Kingdom. Or my parents."

The memory of their wedding day still brought exhaustion to Bernadetta's whole being. More than half the guest list had been people Bernadetta had never met before in her life, and half of that number had been people Sylvain detested. Their mothers had gotten along entirely too well for their liking, Sylvain's father had scowled the at everything, there had been no end to the people who wanted to worm their way into the good graces of the new generation of Margraves--

Bernadetta watched Ignatz laugh as his brother dramatically whisked their mother out of Ignatz's arms and into the next song. Apart from a few merchants and the Almyran guards keeping party crashers at bay, everyone here was friend or family. This wasn't a hot social gathering for connecting with those in power; it was a celebration. And a spirited one at that.

Familiar lips brushed her forehead. "We should have another one," Sylvain murmured, quiet enough to give Bernadetta pause.

She looked up at him. "Another what?"

"Another wedding." He laughed again. "I mean, not the mess we had before. A wedding like this." Sylvain nodded to the small gathering around the dance floor, the grins, the honest enjoyment, the way Ignatz and Claude beamed at everyone.

Then Sylvain ducked his head against hers. "Never mind. That's a lot of fuss for no reason."

"It's not for no reason!" Bernadetta turned in his arms and cupped his face. "I'd marry you again in a heartbeat!"

A bright blush took Sylvan's cheeks but he chuckled, holding her gently by the wrists. "Yeah? Who are we inviting this time? His Highness and Marianne, that's a given."

"Ferdinand too. And Petra since she couldn't make it to our first wedding."

"We should probably invite Claude and Ignatz. As thanks for the idea."

"Yes! And Felix and Ingrid and Leonie and Dorothea!"

Sylvain laughed. "While we're dreaming, do you think Ashe could cater the whole thing?"

Bernadetta pouted and squeezed Sylvain's cheeks again. "I'm not dreaming!" She stated. "I would marry you again. I will marry you again!"

The levity in Sylvain expression vanished, replaced with a slack jaw and round eyes. "You're serious," he said with faint awe in his voice.

"I am." She let him pull her hands away, gripping them tight. "Our wedding wasn't us, Sylvain. I want a wedding that's about us. Our happiness." Bernadetta lowered her head to his chest, her next words muffled. "I love you."

Sylvain let go of her hands and wrapped both arms secure around Bernadetta. "It wouldn't be too much for you? Another wedding?" He asked, voice low and comforting.

"With you, I can do anything." Even as she said the words, Bernadetta felt her face burn up. That sounded more like something she would write in one of her stories, rather than something she would say aloud.

Sure enough-- Sylvain laughed and kissed the top of her head, ignoring the fist she blindly beat against his shoulder in embarrassment. "We'll plan more tonight, then," he said. "Maybe I'll corner Claude and see if I can get him to explain how he kept it secret that the King of Almyra was getting married in a random Alliance village."

"T-That would be useful to know."

With another chuckle, Sylvain pressed his lips to the top of her head again, this time leaving them there as he said, "I love you, too."

No Lord/Lady So-And-So came to interrupt their moment. No intimidating old noble who would look disparagingly upon them. No one was around them except for those Claude and Ignatz held dear.

So Bernadetta simply stayed in Sylvain's arms for a few beats longer, letting him rock them gently as the music on the dancefloor picked up speed. She would dance with her husband later. Maybe even dance with Ignatz. But first, she had this moment of peace, and she used it to think about her own upcoming wedding.

Giorgio has become quite the renowned bard as his solo career began. Though he lacks not for money and fame, his old partner has the one thing he lost in their separation: the heart of his music. Even so, he is determined to become the bard one would sing about for millennia to come.

“Don’t tell me you’re nervous, Songbird! It’s only a little patch of rough weather, it’s nothing we can’t handle. But- If you are nervous, just hold onto me. I won’t let you fall.”

Méabh Altena is the Boatswain of the Pride of the Montgomery, and one of if not the most experienced sailor on the crew. Having spent most of her life at sea, she handles herself with confidence and pride while scaling the ropes and masts of any ship. Despite only being part of this particular expedition crew for a short amount of time, she is someone to depend upon.

“Don’t you worry your pretty little head, Sylv. I’m doing just fine, though I’ll admit seeing you here at the Musty Pig more often would ease what little worries I have.”

Big Al is the kindhearted ex-adventurer who runs the Musty Pig Tavern in the city of Trostburn, the capital of Enitall. He has earned the respect of the people and guilds of the city throughout the years, whether it started in his younger years picking up odd jobs or once he established his current occupation as a tavern keep. Before her time in Villenon, Sylvetta would perform at his humble tavern, starting a friendship that would last between the two. No matter how much time passes, she always has a room and a stage at the Musty Pig.

“Are you coming for seconds on the food, or for entertainment? Yknow, I could give you both, if you ask nicely.”

Stefan Priddy is a halfling bard that joined the cartography expedition of the Pride of the Montgomery not for coin, but rather to find a muse, or so he would say. Whether it’s a new melody or a new ingredient to change his cooking, he’s often searching for something to tug at his heartstrings.

Sylvain and Bernadetta are the bessssst. My favorite Bernie ship by far, and the A support I'm the most upset Sylvain didn't get. I have ideas for their post-canon life, I have fan kids, I have lists of insecurities and how these two get past them, I have "first day moving into the Gautier estate" scripts, I have how OTHER ships react to them being together, I have how other fankids interact with THEIR fankids-- essays are the BEGINNING of what I could write for these two.

Hope loves music. She’s really into Classical Nerd Stuff so her favorite song is probably In The Hall of the Mountain King

She does because everyone around her does. Sometimes she wonders, though, if it’s all really true or if it’s just a set of coincidental Good And Bad Luck.

She’d assimilate, and she’s quite skilled in blending in when she’s lost in a crowd, except for her small stature.

Probably her agility. She was top of her class as a gymnast and is very proud of this fact. It sometimes leads her to attempt stupid and dangerous stunts that she’s sure she can pull off... possibly to her detriment.
