✿ Totally Spies ✿

I've wanted to make the girls from Totally Spies in the sims for so long and I finally got around to actually doing it. It was one of my favorite cartoons to watch as a kid and so I was hit with a huge wave of nostalgia while doing research for this edit. I want to give some credit to @lovelymindlonelyheart because I took a lot of inspiration from her sims. The style is different from how I normally make sims, but I love how it looks and I thought it would fit the Totally Spies characters really well so I wanted to give it a try.

1940s Lookbook

Fedoras, trench coats, Hollywood glamour, and American patriotism, it’s the 1940s! WWII had a huge effect on the fashion of the 40s. Rationing meant people were encouraged to wear utilitarian garments with less fabric. Wide-legged high waisted pants were popular on men and women, as the war necessitated more women to enter the workforce, often working in factories.

okay, i got a bit dramatic with this one, but can you blame me? after all, everything was bigger in the eighties. hair was bigger, shoulder pads were bigger, everything was bigger. music was bigger, and music related subcultures gained a super heavy footing. while the punk movement had already existed and the goth subculture had started to build in the late seventies, they both hit their heyday in the 1980s! glam rock was huge in the eighties, and there was actually a fair bit of androgyny in rock styles and subcultural styles. far before the athleisure trend we see today (i still dont understand what athleisure is?), was the athletic fad of the eighties, heralded by olivia newton john's "physical". this athletic fad is where we see the legwarmers and the spandex that you'll see in every modern day 80s-themed halloween costume. much like in the 1930s, fashion drew from film and hollywood, and john hughes' teen films influenced the fashion of the youth, which in turn inspired more teen films.

guys, we're getting super close to modern day, and i have to admit: i have no fucking idea what modern trends are. i have like five outfits and most of them involve band tee shirts.

"Isn't love all we need, is it love?" Hopeless romantic and fashion blogger extraordinaire, Carly's pursuit of her one true soulmate has had its ups and downs. That never stopped her from trying however, and one of these days she's sure that tall, dark, and handsome stud in her dreams will sweep her off her feet! So what's a few…twenty-something or so failed dates and romances in the grand scheme of things, right? What matters is that you keep on trying and trying!

#3 in my ongoing quest to makeover the CAS pre-made sims! <3 Carly was made using the wonderful Kat Jenkins as her base! No changes were made to her body, facial structure, weight, etc. Her official biography made her out to be a hopeless romantic, and I zeroed in on that idea; hence what's more hopelessly romantic than the aesthetic of lovecore/cupidcore! (´♡‿♡`)

Making her was a lot of fun, but there were some troubles I encountered; namely her huge boobs proved to be something of a challenge. (//ω//) I wanted to use a shoulder-slung purses and bags on her but they would clip often because of her breasts or her thick body, which was a shame--plus size Sims need love too!

@syaovu's Hriban Hair Ribbons Updated + JewlRyBox!

I've always loved this little set of hair ribbons, and what first started as simply converting them for infants turned into a whole project. I didn't realize how old these are, and with that age comes lots of little nitpicks, all of which I've addressed:

Enabled all versions for both frames

Added support for Alien and Spellcaster sims

Created new Infant version

All credit for mesh, textures and original thumbnails go to SyaoVu. The recolors do require the meshes. Everything else should be working fine, please let me know if anything doesn't look right. NOTE: they will clip into particularly fluffy hairs, its especially noticeable on the toddler/infant bows and he headband version on all ages. YMMV

How to sort non-default eyes CC by style in CAS 2.0

This is an adapted version of @syaovu's how to sort non-default eyes cc by style not by colors. The post linked to a faster grouping method by applying changes to the entire package instead of individual swatches which I followed and didn't quite work as expected with nondefault eyes.. But based on the previous knowledge from the two methods, I've updated the tutorial on how to sort/group your non-default eyes custom contents with just a few mouse clicks!

Required: CmarNYC's S4 CAS Tool

Step 1: Open S4CASTool_version.zip, run S4CASTools.exe, enter your creator name (any character will do), and check for the right directory to your The Sims 4 folder, hit Save.

Step 2: In TS4 Cas Tools program, click on Clone Package Editor tab, and click Select to choose the package you want to change.

Step 3: In Clone Package Editor, click on Recolor Manager tab and you'll see the sorting order of every swatch in the current package.

Step 4: Under Recolor Manager tab, click on Renumber Sort Order and a window to change the sort value will pop up.

Keep the "Renumber using start value and increment" option.

Here I use the same tactic recommended in the original tutorial, go for big numbers! Swatches with bigger sort values will appear at the bottom of the eyes color panel in CAS. You can use this method to organize your eyes cc how you see fit!

Set your start value to 1000. For increment input, I keep it 5.

Apply changes by clicking on Renumber.

Step 5: Finally, hit Commit Changes, and Save Package. 

Step 6: Repeat steps 2-5 for every non-default eyes you want to sort with different start values such as 2000, 3000.. etc to avoid mix-up.

Step 7: When you're done, place the packages into your mod folders, open your game, and there you have it! Neatly organized non-defaults eyes in CAS the lazy easy way. 😋
