Tiara Predictions: Iceland to Sweden
The President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, will be in Sweden on 6th to 8th May for a State Visit. The visit will focus on Icelandic-Swedish diplomacy, community, defence, business, science, healthcare and culture.
And now to the predictions…

The tiara I want Silvia to wear: Connaught Tiara. It’s been too long since we’ve seen Silvia in the Connaught! It was last worn by Princess Madeleine in December 2024 for the Nobel Ceremony.
My Prediction: Leuchtenberg Sapphire Tiara. Iceland is one of Sweden’s closest allies so I anticipate fairly large tiaras tonight. It was last worn by Silvia for the Nobel Ceremony in December 2024.

The tiara I want Victoria to wear: Baden Fringe Tiara. Similar to Sonja last month, it’s the closest tiara to the Hallgrimskirkja that the Swedes own and I love a bit of theming. It was last worn by Victoria in December 2024 for the Nobel Ceremony.
My Prediction: Cut Steel Tiara. It feels like it’s been a while since Victoria has worn it. It was last worn in December 2024 by Princess Madeleine for the King’s Dinner.

The tiara I want Christina to wear: Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara. I always want this tiara to be worn whenever possible! It was last worn by Princess Sofia for the King’s Dinner in December 2024
My prediction: Six Button Tiara. I’m not a big fan of this tiara but it feels overdue for a trip out the vault. It was last worn in December 2023 for the King’s Dinner by Christina.

thinking about the swedish cut steel tiaras once again
listen, I'm not a fan of monarchies, but the absolute ART that these tiaras are always make me weak.
like, look at it! there's no jewels on this! it's all metal work! just look AT IT!
Napoleonic Cut Steel Tiara, via Tiara Mania

Swedish Steel Cut Bandeau, via The Court Jeweller
look at the top of that! the details! look at how it captures the light! it's ALL METALWORK!
#didi fangirling on main again#this is for me and for me only#I'm gonna find a way to use this in a fanfic

My top 3- Crown Princess Victoria's Best Nobel Gowns
Happy Nobel Day (or what I like to call Tiara Christmas) everyone! Since this years ceremony has tragically been canceled, I decided to look back and share my top favorite Nobel gowns worn by each of our favorite Swedish ladies!
#3- Elie Saab at the 2010 ceremony
With the Steel Cut tiara

I feel like this is such an underrated Victoria look. This pink nude color (which looks more beige brown in this photo) is a hard one to pull off but it looks beautiful with Victoria's skin tone and dark hair. I love the beaded top and how well it pairs with the Steel Cut tiara.
#2- Custom H&M Collection at the 2014 Ceremony
With the Steel Cut tiara and necklace and bracelet from the Cameo parure

I love this gown so much and it was so perfect with the Steel tiara and Cameo pieces. I love a good princess moment and Victoria delivered.
#1- Par Engsheden at the 2015 ceremony
Worn with the Baden Fringe tiara, diamond cross necklace, and Princess Lilians diamond bracelet

This is such an iconic Victoria look, she truly looked like a princess. Royal women don't wear nearly enough proper ballgowns these days.

Tiara Predictions: Denmark to Sweden
King Frederik and Queen Mary will visit Sweden on the 6th and 7th May 2024 for their first State Visit as King and Queen. The trip will focus on Swedish-Danish relations, technology, the armed forces, the arts and life sciences.
And now to the predictions…

The tiara I want Mary to wear: Pearl Poire - Queen Margrethe’s signature tiara, this would be a lovely tiara for Mary to wear to show a passing of the baton from the former queen to the current. It was last worn in January by Queen Margrethe.
My Prediction: Ruby Parure - This tiara is more likely as Mary has recently worn the Emerald Parure Tiara for her first official portrait as Queen, which cannot be taken outside of Denmark, and I don’t think she’d wear another new tiara so soon. It was last worn in January by Queen Mary, then Crown Princess, for the New Year’s Reception.

The tiara I want Silvia to wear: Braganza Tiara. As Silvia only wears this tiara to multi-royal events, it’s one of the only times that this tiara will get an outing so it’d be lovely if Silvia wore it tonight. It was last worn in September 2023 for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations for King Carl XVI Gustaf.
My Prediction: Leuchtenberg Sapphire Tiara. As the Danish don’t have any huge tiaras, I don’t believe that Silvia will go to the maximum, so the Leuchtenberg Sapphire Tiara is a safer bet. Silvia has worn 6 different tiaras to multi-royal events so this is a harder one to predict. It was last worn by Silvia in Dec 2023 for the King’s Dinner for Nobel Laureates.

The tiara I want Victoria to wear: Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara. This tiara is my absolute favourite Swedish Tiara so it will appear in every prediction! It has been 2.5 years since Victoria wore this tiara so it’s overdue a wear. It was last worn by Princess Christina in January for the State Visit from France.
My Prediction: Baden Fringe. Similar to Silvia, Victoria has worn 4 different tiaras to multi-royal events in the past 7 years, so it’s a hard one to predict. It was last worn by Victoria in September 2023 for her father’s Jubilee celebrations.

The tiara I want Sofia to wear: Cut Steel Bandeau - I really like this tiara and it doesn’t come out of the vault enough. It was last worn by Crown Princess Victoria in July 2017 for the wedding of Astrid Bernadotte.
My Prediction: Wedding tiara. The only tiara Sofia has worn in the last 7 years, this is probably the safest bet! It was worn last month by Sofia for the State Visit from Finland.

The tiara I want Princess Christina to wear: Connaught. Another Swedish stunner! This tiara holds particular significance for the Haga Princesses as it was their mother’s favourite tiara so it’s always lovely when she wears it. The tiara was last worn last month by Christina for the State Visit from Finland.
My Prediction: 4 Button Tiara. The better Swedish button tiara, I am not the biggest fan of either. However, aside from Victoria’s birthday tiara and the Cut Steel Bandeau, this tiara has been in the vault for the longest so it’s due an appearance. It was last worn by Princess Christina in December 2022 for the King’s Dinner for Nobel Laureates.

Tiara anon, I think you trading around tiaras from other royal families would be great!
Hey :) Good, I’m glad that’s alright!! I know with these things I’d probably give a different answer if you asked me in a week haha. I’m only going for the main royals except for in Sweden and the UK obviously. But here goes:
Charlene- She hates tiaras and almost never wears them but I think we could get her on board with a tiara that’s a bit edgy so I’ve gone for the Cut Steel Bandeau. I think a tiara made of steel might win her over and it’s the smaller of the two Swedish steel tiaras:
Letizia- She loves a whopper but I think sometimes it can overwhelm her so I’ve chosen one that’s big but not the biggest. I always associate her with the colour red as well so ultimately I thought I’d pick the Mellerio Ruby tiara from the Netherlands
Maxima- Another fan of a whopper and thankfully she has the hair to pull them off. I’ve gone for one of my favourite tiaras which is haaaaard to wear, the Luxembourg Empire Tiara. I don’t think MT does it justice (sorry) but I think Maxima could
Mathilde- For such a quirky dresser, her tiara choices are quite bland. I’d like to see her try something a little bit different so I went for the Ocean Spray from Monaco. We never see it on Charlene and I think Mathilde has the hair for it
Maria Teresa- She has a huge range of tiaras she wears from big to small, all kinds of stones. I think she best suits the middle size. I’ve actually opted for the iconic Girls of Great Britain and Ireland
Stephanie- She has also worn quite a range and again I don’t think they do her justice. I don’t really know why I picked this for her but I just have a feeling, so I went for Spain’s Cartier Pearl and Diamond Tiara. I think she could give it a hairstyle that works and unlike some of the royal women of her generation she wouldn’t be swamped by such a big piece
Sonja- She also pulls off a big tiara and I love her so I’m going to just give her a massive tiara as she deserves it. I’ve opted for the Stuart Tiara from the Netherlands
Mette Marit- I’ve chosen Mary’s Ruby Parure tiara. I think it would be so gorgeous on her. Like holly and ivy on a frosty winter’s morning
Margrethe- She’s a quirky tiara wearer and she needs something that stands out so I’ve chosen Jordan’s Emerald Ivy Tiara. It’s not one of my favourite tiaras but hell, Daisy’s a bad ass
Mary- I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY OTHER THAN GIVE THIS WOMAN THE LOVER’S KNOT RIGHT NOW
Silvia- Another fan of the big hitters and she certainly suits them so I’m going to give her one of the most famous big hitters, the Delhi Durbar
Victoria- She can pull off some of the most difficult tiaras. I would love to see her in Naasut from Denmark which doesn’t suit Margrethe to me and I think would be set off beautifully by her dark hair
Madeleine- I don’t think anyone can pull off a tiara quite like Madde. She just stuns in them. She can suit so many of them. But I am inspired by her gorgeous hippy boho princess vibe and her floral headband and opting for the Mellerio Floral Tiara from Spain:
Sofia- She can’t have anything too big because she’s got such delicate features. But what I really liked was when she wore the amethyst further back on her head with loose hair and that made me think of Margaret’s wearing of the Lotus Flower. I think it could be a good fit
The Queen- Anything. Literally anything. Most of her tiaras are ugly. She has the hair for a big tiara and I like to see her with coloured stones because of her white hair and gowns, they stand out more. So I’ve chosen Empress Josephine’s Emerald tiara from Norway
Camilla- She needs a whopper. She is more fond of them than most royals and she works them out. So I’m giving her one of my favourite whoppers, the Braganza from Sweden
Kate- I associate Kate most with sapphires so what’s the most beautiful and impressive sapphire tiara? Queen Emma’s from the Netherlands
Meghan- The Cut Steel tiara from Sweden. Imagine this with her dark hair and her skin tone. Ugh.

Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Madeleine and Princess Sofia of Sweden

Cown Princess Victoria of Sweden, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Princess Estelle

Crown Princess Victoria also wore the H&M dress for Princess Sofia's wedding in 2015.

Princess Madeleine

Princess Sofia of Sweden

The Swedish Royal Family
THE SWEDISH ROYAL FAMILY have released new portraits and the Princesses look stunning in three "gorgeous" dresses and breathtaking tiaras.
Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden stunned fans as she recycled an H&M dress from the Conscious Collection.
Crown Princess Victoria opted for sustainability and wore a beautiful light blue dress with a gradient effect she had already donned in 2015 to attend the wedding of her brother, Carl Philip.
An H&M spokesperson explained: “The gown was a custom made H&M Conscious Exclusive dress made of organic silk and organic linen and was inspired by a skirt from the Conscious Exclusive Collection.”
She combined the dress with three bracelets by designers Ebba Brahe and one from Sophie by Sophie, pearl earrings and the Napoleonic Cut Steel Tiara.
The stunning diadem, which features feather and flower motifs, belonged to Queen Hortense of the Netherlands and was passed to the Swedish Royal Family by Queen Josephine until it reached Queen Silvia.
Diamond expert at Steven Stone Jewellers, Zack Stone, said: “The Napoleonic cut steel tiara is very unique and differs greatly from many other royal tiaras we’ve seen. Unlike most, there are no gemstones used in the piece— no diamonds, no pearls, no emeralds. The entire tiara has been constructed from steel that has been strategically cut, polished, and set in gold. The design is very detailed and features intricate emblems of oak leaf, acorn, floral, and feathers. And, just because it’s made of steel doesn’t mean it lacks sparkle. When it reflects light, the tiara glistens beautifully, and at a first glance you’d probably think it was packed with diamonds.
“As the tiara features no diamonds or gemstones, it’s not quite as valuable as other royal tiaras. It has a value of around £25,000 due the amount of detail and craftsmanship.”
Princess Madeleine recycled a beautiful pastel pink dress featuring a floral embroidery and a transparent bodice by Swedish designer Ida Sjöstedt.
To accessorise the gown, Princess Madeleine wore a Cartier bracelet and the Modern Fringe Tiara.
The beautiful diadem was a gift from King Carl Gustaf to his wife Queen Silvia, for their 10th wedding anniversary

Anna’s Country Tiara Rankings: Sweden Edition #20-11
20.

The Four Button Tiara
It’s fucking ugly and I hate that it has that stupid ass wire base
19.

The Six Button Tiara
I actually don’t mind this one as much and I think it’s because of all the diamonds on the base
18.
The Steel Cut Tiara
I find the story great and I love the sparkle with no gems.
17.
The Steel Cut Bandeau
Once again I love the sparkle with no gems and I like this one a bit more as it’s not as pointy
16.

Countess Alice Diamond Floral
I’m not a huge fan of floral tiara’s but this one is of a good size and is versitile
15.

Queen Louise Diamond Tiara
Vic or Maddie should have gotten this at 18
14.

Countess Gunnila Bernadotte’s Tiara
It’s just fun, not super practical tiara wise but fun
13.
The Nine Prong Tiara
I do love a big gun and it’s a big gun but it’s super.... prongy
12.

The Swedish Diamond Bandeau
Who doesn’t love just a row of diamonds
11.

Swedish Laurel Wreath
This one gets most of it’s appeal from Lillian but it’s a good tiara

Hard same. The flexible base on Sofia’s wedding tiara was a GAME CHANGER. All the settings and how versatile it is is an added bonus! That said, I wish she’d keep the steel cut bandeau in rotation, it looks stunning on her.
The cut steel is one I think should go to Sofia. I think technically Victoria owns it but it’s not one I think she really needs in her rotation. And thinking into the future she could pass down something like the Laurel Wreath tiara should Oscar get married and obviously I’d imagine Estelle would go for the Cameo or some other big tiara from the Swedish vault. And of course she also has her 18th birthday tiara to pass down but in my mind that doesn’t count as a tiara.
From a sartorial perspective, the small cut steel tiara is tough to pull off but I think it just works on Sofia. The time she wore it with the red gown after announcing her pregnancy is probably my favorite wearing of that tiara ever.
