New Old Au: Undertale Civil War

I was going through my old drawings and stumbled upon some concept art for Undertale Civil War

And au similar to Underfell but here there are three factions battling for control of the underground:

The Royal Family led by Asgore which rules the Ruins and New Home. They seek peace yet will punish those who step out of line. Notable members include Asgore, Toriel, Asriel (formerly), Chara (formerly), Flowey (or so he pretends), and Napstablook (or so he says)

The Royal Guard led by Undyne which rule Snowdin and Waterfall. They seek justice for monsterkind against the humans and Asgore and want revenge after Asgore executed former leader Gerson for a misunderstanding with Chara that lead to their death. Notable members include Undyne, Papyrus, Snowdin Canine Unit, Gerson (formerly), Napstablook (so he says), the Tem (the guards foot soldiers), and Shyren

MTT Fanclub led by Mettaton who rules Hotland and the Core. He seems conformity and dictatorship led by him after he witnessed Asgores unfair power. Notable members include Mettaton, Alphys (brainwashed after receiving a head injury), Napstablook (a spy), Burgerpants (cannon fodder), Bratty and Catty, and Mad Mew Mew

Some charecters don't align with any group like Sans (who's homeless and often assaulted by the Royal Guard), Muffet (who formed her own group and frequently hacks Mettatons feeds), and Nice Cream Guy (who was rejected by the Royal Guard for being too nice)

This AU has swap, fell, and horror variants as well

Idek how exactly to explain it? But basically utmv main three (UT, UF, US) except they're based off of...colour? Mostly. I fully intend to sketch the concepts I've gotten for everyone once I'm done w/ these comms but here's what I've got so far (possibly subject to change since I wrote this down in an unexpected flashbang of inspiration)

I saw the Ghost Twins FNF mod yesterday and it gave me the idea to draw Mettaton and Napstablook as the twins :)

(I made my own Napstabot design so he doesn’t look like his swap version)

Decided to redesign Sw!Fallenswap Mad Mew Mew,

Since she doesn't really have anyone to swap with, so she swaps color scheme from light pinks to darker blue, (but mad dummy still swaps with ruins dummy)

Color scheme reference, i forget her tail but it's the same color as her body.

Age: unknown, presumably around Little Red Slicing Hood's age (Aka Crimson Red, just Red or Crimson who is an au version of Taxidermy's well known OC who makes AU appearances in other AUs), so ~34 in current events and 23 in pre-events

Height: 5ft 2in/157.48cm

Species: Monster

Type: Undead

Race: Ghost (possessing a doll)

Family: Napstabot, Happstablook, Mad Ruins Dummy (Cousins), Dr. Undyne (close relationship, former crush), Crimson Red/Little Red Slicing Hood (Love interest)

Pronouns: Olum/Olo/Owoza (all monsters use this pronoun in the Monstarian Language or underground languages but don't use it in human languages but may start to if they learn about neopronouns) She/her (in English), though she has been referred to They/Them before.

Dere type: Hiyakasudere.

Orientation: Homoromantic Asexual (worthy to note, since Monsters are sexless and usually agender regardless if they have binary pronouns or not, Monsters are very hard to put in binaries without extreme simplification, so this will just refer to that she is attracted to other monsters who have feminine qualities similar to herself)

Powers and abilities: limb dismemberment and reattachment, undead soul, certain undead capabilities(she lost some when she became corporeal), some levitation, soul manipulation, shoots out lasers out of her wand/scepter thingy.

Retained Undead powers: Clairvoyance, eletromanetic interference, enhanced senses, strength, speed, agility, stamina and durability. Immortality, night vision, darkness and corruption immunity, mind control and manipulation resistance, immunity to starvation (not all monsters eat to regulate magic levels or need to use energy based foods to recharge MP, Undead are known to have Unlimited MP), Sleep deprivation (Undead do not need to sleep to survive, but some do replenish HP since healing magic will harm them. Undead who sleep are usually Nocturnal) poison, memory and dream manipulation, fall damage, suffocation (some monsters breathe but not oxygen but the excess magic aura that gets released into the air from monster or any supernatural presence in general)

Lost undead and ghost powers: teleportation, telekinesis, possession, flotation, intangiblity, environmental manipulation, Pyschokinesis,

Weakness: Fire, salt, burning sage, silver, iron, healing magic, light magic attacks, physical damage after becoming corporeal.

Personality:

Mew Mew seems to have a very split personality, especially when it comes to teasing monsters she finds attractive, to sometimes acting flirtatious and pestering, or acting straight up irritable, when someone flirts with her instead of the other way around. She quite persistent when it comes to things she wants, and she is an extreme trickster by heart. Despite her default emotions being usually stoic, she is quick to anger and can show emotion but when her stoicness does break, her emotions are pretty extreme.

History:

Mew Mew is similar to Underswap's Mad Mew Mew's backstory, a ghost who orginally possessed a dummy was unhappy with that and eventually went to possessing a doll that belongs to Undyne, but similar to Undertale Mad Mew Mew she still wants to win Undyne's affection but is deflated when she is told Undyne loves Alphys (even though Alphys is oblivious to her best friend having a crush on her and since Pre-events Chara's Run is a pacifist-neutral run, Alphys never knows.) But respects it anyway and is willing to move on because Mew Mew wants the best for her.

Though her role in current events do change. She resides in Waterfall and is presumably a mercenary for Alphys though this isn't 100% clear since she was still attacked by small attack bots coming from Hotland also Mew Mew knows Alphys betrayed Undyne so there is probably high resentment that Mew has towards Alphys. which Crimson Red had to save her from. Mew Mew does comment on this asking why Red was willing to save her but Red just brushes it off as just doing her duty as a Royal Guard.

Crimson Red and Mew Mew have a messy relationship with an extremely rocky start, but do consider each other a love interest in the end. Eventually Red requites Mew's affection to a certain degree and they stand next to each other in a pacifist ending. It's unknown if they are in an actual romantic relationship or just romantically involved with each other.

More UnderSwap Stuff

Asgore is the guardian of the Ruins. He's kinda and gentle yet blames himself for what happened to his children and with Toriel. Doesn't hate Toriel but also doesn't want to get back with her just yet (he's more forgiving than her cannon version). He's slightly graying and wears reading glasses but also has cool orange and blue sunglasses when he's vibing. He actually wears a professor kind of outfit (turtleneck sweater and tweed vest) with a pink flower tie under his robe. Kinda a dork. More reluctant to fight you than Toriel. Makes really good tea as opposed to pie. Likes to read about slimes (foreshadowing for future swap). When you call and flirt with him after you call him dad he replies "Why'd you have to call me daddy is such a suggestive way my child". Believed Frisk to be the future of humans and monsters yet also believes that if things don't change there will be no future for either.

Toriel is the reluctant queen. She put herself in charge and looks down upon Asgore (she doesn't want to admit he's right). She's stubborn and kind of a bitch. She sucks at gardening and instead knits. What does she knit? Duplicates of the Temmie Plush her lost child had. Can't handle grief. Offers pie to you before the fight. Despite her curvy armor she's still rectangular. Uses a scepter with MKs face engraved on it to never forget why she's doing this. Instead of keeping coffins for the humans she dolls for each of them (just an excuse to design the other 6 fallen human who actually do swap). She's more cold than Asgore but only because she knows that if she lets the slightest emotion show she'll break down in tears.

Alphys is the captain of the Royal Guard. Her building is completely different from Undyne's tall and slender body. She's short and stocky and proud. Her weapon, an axe, reflects this which opposes the thin spear Undyne uses. Don't worry she's not wearing actual skulls. Just replicas. Trains with Sans but doesn't let him join because of his low stats and just the fact he's a middle aged man in a mock superhero costume. Has trouble controlling her anger. Has a tough and gruff voice but a squeaky laugh. Unlike most swap Alphys she's just as THICC outside of her armor as she is inside and is proud of the way she is. She still has a crush on Undyne she refuses to admit even more than cannon Undyne. Doesn't wear an eye patch because she thinks her scar makes her look more badass. Also has a crush on the queen (she likes dominant women) but not the player (with the whole hating humanity thing) or the unknown (she doesn't believe in that). A bit more willing to do her "date" since she admires the humans ability to outdo her. Passes out not from heat but just from exhaustion as it never occurred to her to train in cardio but still requires water. Anime is real right?!?

Undyne is the royal scientist. Likes anime styles video games slightly more than anime. Her favorite is Oki Doki Art Club starring Hop Hop Muscly Sorree (or some name like that). Has anime body pillows. Experiments with determination. Wants to insert herself into your invention. Built Napstablook a robot body after coming to his video game club. Still kinda hot headed. Has a slight lisp as opposed to a stutter. Should wear braces but doesn't because she doesn't want to look like a "complete nerd". Gets flustered easily. Keeps secrets..... Is blind in one eye but never tells anyone how. Her date dress is the same one cannon Mettaton wears during the music segment but more proportionate to her (she claims she looks like a cute anime girl in it and you better agree with her on that).

Hapstablook (yes that's what I'm calling him. Deal with it) is the recluse ghost. Dreams of being an actor but has stage fright. Afraid of criticism and flustered by praise. Easily startled with makes him cry glittery tears. The houses don't swap just the details of them. I know cannon swap Mettaton isn't pink but I think it's fitting for him to have a slight pink hue. A hopeless romantic who writes romance stories of star crossed lovers. Listens to motivational podcasts through his earbuds. Has a Fancyblook attire where he makes either a fancy hat or dress with his tears (I can't decide). Gender fluid. His covered eye is heart shaped but he finds it grotesque which is why he covers it. Wishes he had legs. Owns a slime farm which he and his cousin cared for. Misses his cousin. Would you smooch a ghost?

Napstabot is the idol of the underground. His box form is an old timey radio and his ex from incorporates sound equipment. Doesn't cover his eye but it does glow during neo form (which will be revealed on the special genocide addition. More masculine than Mettaton and uses bro rather than darling. Instead of oh my he says "radical!!!!". Uses a fake nineties cool dude voice but his real voice is soft and gentle. Likes his arms more than his legs which is demonstrated in the order they fall off. He gets more easily flustered by compliments as he's not used to direct compliments. He's also not used to insults which cause his self esteem to shatter and he starts crying but eventually he will get over it and even try and better himself. He actually cries ALOT in private. He also isn't as social as he acts on camera and actually prefers to be alone or with his cousin or Undyne. Cries when killed to add extra guilt (he takes it as you not liking him or if it's done before he's sparable he takes it as you being a false friend). And I normally don't get into battles but since Mettaton's fight is my favorite ill cover Napstabot's. For starters his interruptions are as follows: a musical quiz show, setting up a music studio with the last instrument being a human soul but Undyne requires a synthetic human soul, a quest where you must find him a new prop, and finally a big musical number where he wears classic Alphys dress and a top hat. During ex he has a Livestream where you have to raise likes through posing (seductively causing napstabot to blush heavily), boasting (which shocks napstabot and makes him a bit jealous of your ego), and heel turning (which he takes personally). You can also throw your stick which he nervously fetches much to his embarrassment. His attacks are a punching attack that mimicks Mettatons kicks, a five way punch, sound wave speakers speakers replacing Mettatons punches, electric heart (unchanged), discoball (unchanged), bomb attacks (unchanged), union regulated break (the text now says "I'm not feeling up to working on my break dude"), small napstabots that shoot music notes, and boxes (unchanged) he also shoots a single small lightning bolt the turn right after he loses one of his limbs and a tear the turn after his health becomes fatal. Instead of an essay he asks you to write a song. If it rhymes he gets shocked and remarks "that's better than I could ever do.....". Similar responses as Mettaton's if it's basic. If you compliment him he blushes and gets flustered. If you compliment his legs he's shocked as he thinks his legs aren't desirable. If you compliment his arms he blushes and flexes for you (so sexy). If you compliment his hair he blushes and remarks how it has a natural bounce. If you compliment his personality he blushes, gets flustered, and remarks how he wishes more people paid attention to that. If you compliment his voice he sings a short melody. If you compliment his dancing he mentions Undyne literally giving him two left feet. If you mention loving him he blushes and remarks how despite getting that alot he always gets flustered by it. If you mention Toby he remarks how that's not his name but it does sound sexy. If you insult him he cries but then gets an annoyed expression and the music stops while he replies "insults are a gateway to the way you feel about yourself" then a "bitch" sound effect plays and then things go back to normal. If you curse he mentions getting demonetized. Ok this is too much.

The rocks swap with the dummies. Not much to remark because this is already too much so......

Dummy:

appears as the tutorial dummy in the Ruins - Asgore encourages Chara to talk to them, but no matter what action the human takes, the Dummy will take offence and leave the room after snapping at them. Asgore then takes the opportunity to tell Chara that even if a monster is rude, showing mercy is still important.

Bored Dummy:

appears as a boss in Waterfall - Mad Dummy told them to get revenge for how they were treated by Chara, but Bored Dummy doesn't really care about fighting and only does so to make their cousin happy.

at the end of their battle with Chara, Happstablook notices the commotion and makes a dramatic entrance with a glitter bomb, inadvertently spooking his cousin out of their body.

Mad Dummy:

offscreen, Alphys asks if they'll model a Mew Mew Kissy Cutie cosplay she'd been working on, as she can't find her usual training dummy to ask. after agreeing and trying on the outfit, Mad Dummy has a Mad Mew Mew-esque identity revelation, and continues wearing the cosplay for the rest of the "game".

if Chara speaks to her in the overworld, she mentions she's considering renaming herself Maddy.

???:

briefly reappears as Bored Dummy again with Maddy after Alphys' hangout event, but soon afterward decides to leave that body behind for good.

after the barrier is broken, Chara can find the uninhabited dummy body in Waterfall, and a barely-visible ghost floating near the snails at Blook Acres.

Maddy the Dummy:

loving life as an adorable mannequin model and one of Napstabot's singers. she frequently changes her look with different wigs and clothes, and has a preference for pinks and pastels, frills, and occasional edgier styles.

still very much the loud, energetic and quick-to-anger type, easily switching from cutesy charm to yelling at someone annoying, and retains her habit of repeating words/phrases three times.

doesn't become Mew Mew like her UT counterpart, but she does have a big soft spot for the Mew Mew Kissy Cutie series, though she prefers Mew Mew 2. she and Alphys have had multiple Undernet arguments about this.

has both friends and knives now!!

Pom Pom:

still lacking a body on the surface, Chara offered to knit them a custom body of their own. they liked the idea of being an animal-like monster, as well as an apple theme based on their favourite saying (that being their UT counterpart's check description). once the body was complete, they soon became corporeal and took on the new name Pom Pom.

they're shy, quiet, easily startled, and especially prone to boredom. they have little tolerance for aimless shenanigans, and will either leave a situation they dislike or just ragdoll on the floor and sleep. they stand like they're about to fall over at all times.

their new body kept some familiar features from their previous, including a cotton heart and button eyes. the heart functions similarly to Napstabot's heart-shaped core.

ghost ages are pretty vague, but they're an adult and the youngest of the ghost cousins.

I've talked about Maddy a couple times in the past, but to reiterate: like Happstablook I want to handle her character with as much respect towards her UT counterpart's story as I can, given that her role swap predates Mad Mew Mew's reveal. had I not designed and gotten attached to my Napstabot in early 2018, just months before UT's Switch port, maybe I would've swapped Mettaton and Mew Mew instead, but it is what it is. think of her as Mew Mew and Glad Dummy combined 💖

as for Pom Pom, with how little canon info there is on Ruins Dummy I just went all-in on what few details I had to work with. admittedly the apple theme is a total stretch from the "apple of my eye" part of their check description, but I liked it too much to not go with it! and them being an animal-like humanoid is to match Mew Mew being a catgirl, so I thought a deer suited their personality.

also, the reason their body was knitted by Chara specifically is I love the headcanon that ghosts can hear the narrator (based on Napstablook responding to their own check description), so after applying it to Swap MH I thought it'd be cute if Chara and Frisk have a close bond with the ghost family post-pacifist :'>

anyway I'm aware that they're pretty much just an OC-ified version of a canon character at this point, but like. people have been doing that with the humans, Gaster, Dess and AU Sanses for years. I am allowed one (1) Basically A Fan Character version of an existing character, as a treat
