redownloaded survivalcraft (minecraft-esque game I used to play as a kid) out of nostalgia, and apparently they added MORE BIRDS???? bless you survivalcraft, you were always the superior block world mobile game 🩷
#we respect survivalcraft in this house#it had world sharing and customizable textures and a bunch of other cool stuff way before minecraft PE did#it also had a super cool electronics system and a custom furniture system and way more animals than minecraft#including birds :)#and it’s cheaper lol#and the dev ran a blog about its development that i used to check all the time#i learned so much about game development from it#survivalcraft is cool to me because it easily could’ve been another minecraft copy and probably would’ve made bank#but the guy who made it added so many cool features to it that minecraft didn’t have at the time#i wonder what he’s doing now. i hope he’s doing good 🤍#anyway weird little games made by some guy will always be superior to fancy big budget games made by companies#survivalcraft

you should play Dredge
Played! I enjoyed it. I only have 7 hours in it, though.
In fact, my personal buddy is suuuuper into Dredge, it's his favorite game. We played it zealously together during a visit, during which I got absolutely mobbed by like every random monster ever at Gale Cliffs. The squid. The ray. The thing that rots your fish. The actual big mama monster who lives in the cliffs.
He remarked he had NEVER seen such bad luck before lmaoooo
Women want me but the fish do not fear me, sadly. The fish and I are engaged in mutually assured destruction.
#I like the idea of Dredge and its fishing#But it didn't scratch my itch in the way I hoped#I think it's because functionally you Are a boat#It's a fantastic game dgmw this is absolutely not a criticism. The choice to have the player only ever be in their boat is solid.#It contributes to the atmosphere and generally lonely and mysterious atmosphere of the setting#Both mechanically and artistically it is the ideal move.#It's just that player customization and social sim aspects are usually major parts of the games I enjoy most#Customization/sim elements/collectathons/survivalcraft/community management/sandboxes. Those are my jam.#So Dredge was not the answer to my prayers because it didn't have enough of my 'wishlist' mechanics. For lack of a better word#I will absolutely play more the next time I hangout with my buddy tho. It was a blast playing with him.#The joy of hanging out with someone who just really LOVES the game/movie/series you're experiencing

It's so sad that there's just a lack of video games set on spaceships. the tight hallways, the modules. the panels that open up to reveal intricate circuitry. all the different maintenance access tunnels and shafts, the unique mechanics that would come with being on spacecraft. they should let techum folk make video games

listening to some of my character playlists and when I make those I just go through all my old playlists and add songs if they fit and the first stop is always my freshmen/first half of sophomore year playlist so inevitably some regrettes songs get added to them so now I’ve heard some regrettes songs I haven’t actually heard for years and tbh I think I need to regress back to that phase
