REPLY 1988 | Sung Duk Seon x Kim Jung Hwan
Tumblr media
thoughts and verdict :
Okay so as you all can sense, I am hooked with dukseon and jungpal. When I am half way finishing the drama, I already sounded that its not Jungpal that's going to be Dukseon's man when she said in an interview "He must really like me back then" while the future dukseon and her husband is looking at a picture. *Picture below*
Tumblr media
I even tweeted that I'll cry if its not going to be my jungpal. Anyways, Let's talk more about them and their moments. Of course my top moments of them: The Trap in an alley scene. Here, they had to run cuz the teacher is chasing them but dukseon tripped so jungpal helped him and they changed their direction,bc of that the teacher had to choose w/c path will he take and he went straight to get the other 2 boys that's also in the run. THAT'S when this happen skskajshak they were trapped in an alley and i- I can't explain go watch it its superr worth it!!! 😭❤️ This is so manly for me (1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Onto the next moment: When Duk Seon hid behind Jung Hwan's back. Ok so here, duk seon was being chased by her mother for the reason that she lost her "family's treasure", their camera while on the trip. Duk Seon went outside to run and bumped into Jung Hwan. She hid behind him and i- ajxbakkakakaka idk y can't i explain BUT please do watch it, REALLY WORTH ITTTT!!
Tumblr media
Moving on to the next moment: The Bus Scene. In this scene, Jungpal seemed really bothered because the bus is always full, and the driver seems to not being careful as the standing passenger always loose their balance. Afar from Duk Seon, Jung Hwan came to her and stand on her back so the people behind Duk Seon will no longer bump into her. Again, this is so manly for meee(2) kshakaka. GO AND WATCH IT!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next moment: The Don't go on the blind date. Skahsjaka okAy im nOt finE aT aLl. This really sends me until now...😭
Tumblr media
To make it clear here's the summary of the scene: cuz i can't explain anymore my heart is still pounding even after i watched it many times😭 Again and again, This is so manly for me (3) GO WATCH NOW
Tumblr media
Nexttt : The Comic Book? Scene. I CAN'T EXPLAIN PLS JUST WATCH IT! LITERALLY WORTH ITTTT!!
Tumblr media
There are many more scenes that I want to put in here but only 10 photos can be posted so yeah END!! ++ Might post the continuation... or i definitely should... NYEONGAN!!

Caught Up Chapter 3 - New Girl
"Nice to meet you, Sir."
"You don't have to call me that. Very well, the team and I are off duty today so you'll meet everyone tomorrow. I have to go."
Lee Hyeri paused and took another look at the station after she walked out of it. She heaved a sigh when she remembered his team leader that she just met awhile ago.
Ryu Jun Yeol
Hyeri thinks he looked strict and arrogant. But their meeting was quite quick so she decided to shake off the first impression and give him another chance. But of course, she's hoping for the best.
"I'll find out tomorrow."
Hyeri arrived in Jangan-gu yesterday and she thought she'll have to immediately report to work, she decided to postpone getting her things settled in her new apartment.
But since she'll officially start working tomorrow, she decided to go home instead.
Being late at work got her in trouble and was the reason why she was transferred. Because of this obvious reason that she decided to rent an apartment that is only 3 blocks away from the station. It's not exactly ideal but she thought it's for the best.
She cannot mess it up again. Not this time.
Not in Jangan Police Department.
She met the old man again earlier.
After 4 years, they meet again.
"Ahhh! I'm not here for him. I'm here to work. Get it together, Lee Hyeri!" She brushed off the thought and went straight home. Day 1.
Fortunately, Hyeri arrived at the station right on time. On the dot. She's not late on her first day at work and it's a good thing. As soon as she arrived, she went straight to her desk that was assigned to her yesterday.
But the other desks around her are still empty. Did she arrived way too early that everyone from the team are late?
She held her head high as she get her things settled on her new desk. She was having her own little proud moment when the door of the conference room parallel to her team's bay came wide open, popping out few men and - to her surprise - including Jin Goo and Ryu Jun Yeol.
"Good morning, Sir." She politely greeted Jun Yeol as soon as he walked up to her.
"I believe I already told you not to call me that." He said with a flat tone.
"Ah. Joseonghamnida.. Sunbae."
"You're late." "Ne?" She was taken aback.
"I said you are late. And on your first day, Hyeri-ssi." "Uhm, I'm not late. I got here on time, Sunbae." "Ahh. You're new. Well, just so you know, I always require my team to be at work 30minutes before regular hours which means you should be here by 7:30 AM. And since it is your first day, I believe should have been polite enough to be here earlier than expected. Right, Ms. Lee Hyeri?" "Uhhhh.." Hyeri is at a loss for words. She knew that being a new transferee will be tough but not this tough.
"I often conduct team huddles before getting to work. Since you are late, you obviously missed the meeting we just had about today's team agenda." "I'm sorry, Sunbae. I didn't know." She said with her head down. Obviously, she got transferred from one asshole boss to another. "Whatever. Okay, since you missed the meeting. You are on desk duty for now." Then he walked past her. At least he didn't asked me to get his coffee. Or so she thought. Ryu Jun Yeol paused, turned to her and said.. "And coffee. You're on coffee duty. Go get everyone their morning coffee then I'll introduce you when you get back. Hurry." Hyeri heaved a deep sigh as she watch his back walk further away from her desk. "Uggghhh? What have I gotten myself into?" "Trouble." "Yah, kkamjjagiya!" "Oh, sorry." A tall, fair-complexed pretty boy smiled and stood beside her. He also saw him got out of the conference room earlier with Ryu Jun Yeol. "Sorry about that, I'm Go Kyung Pyo. I'm part of the team. You're the transferee from Gwangju, right? Welcome to Jangan-gu." Finally. Someone nice enough to welcome me. Finally. "Ah. Annyeong! I'm Lee Hyeri." They shook hands and it was nice to see him smiling the entire time. Kyung Pyo is very welcoming. "Tough first day, huh?" "Tell me about it." "It's going to be fine. Well, I'd love to introduce you to the team but I heard Jun Yeol sunbae said he'll do it after you get coffee so, I'll let him be. He'll be furious if I do it." "Is he that bad?" "I wouldn't say that. He can be a little rough sometimes but he's nice, too. It just gets hard when he's pissed off." "Oh. I should get going, then. I think I already pissed him off enough." "Yeah.." "Uhm, Sunbae. Can I ask you something?" "Sure, what is it?" "What kind of coffee should I get and how many?" Go Kyung Pyo gave out a light laugh that made her heart swoon a little. She liked the sound of that.
Self, stop.
"You can get Americano for 5." "I see. Thank you! I'll go now." "Arasso." She left her bag on her desk, picked up her wallet and immediately ran out of the office to get her team and her grumpy boss some coffee. As soon as she got back, Ryu Jun Yeol introduced her to the team as "the new girl". It was so quick that she didn't catch anyone's name except the ones she already heard like Jin Goo's and Kyung Pyo's. Jun Yeol went back to his office after the introduction that barely lasted a minute and she had to approach the other teammates just to get their names. Around 10:00 in the morning, two of her teammates left the station to check on something that they apparently discussed during the team. Thirty minutes after that, Junyeol left with JinGoo and KyungPyo to checl on something as well. She asked her leader if there's something she needs to do. All she got was a blank stare for 10 seconds and an order saying "sort out the files and cases on my table then go home when you're done." And so she did. Even though it felt like working on a school project instead of working as an actual cop. She finished everything by 2:00 PM and as a sign of respect, she waited for everyone to return. She decided to leave the office and call it a day when it's already 7 in the evening and none of her teammates has come back. Day 2. To make sure she won't be greeted with lectures early in the morning, Lee Hyeri arrived 45 minutes before the regular working hours. One by one, her teammates arrived as she welcomed them with a smile. The last one to arrive was the guy named Bong Sun who arrived 15 minutes before 8:00 AM. "Why isn't he here yet? I thought the huddle starts 30 minutes before 8?" She asked herself.
Whistling with his sunglasses still on, Ryu Jun Yeol arrived at the office at exactly 8:00 AM. On the freaking dot. Just like she did yesterday. He walked past the entire team after waving a hand to them and went straight to his own little cubicle.    Hyeri shook off the annoyance she feels towards her arrogant boss as she prepared herself for the huddle she's expecting to take place any minute now. 8:30 AM... 9:00 AM... 9:30 AM... 10:30 AM... It was at 10:45 AM when he walked out of his office wearing a cap as he called Bong Sun and Kyung Pyo, asking them to come with him. Before they got out, she politely and bravely called him and asked.. "Sunbae!" "Who was that?" "Lee Hyeri. Here!" "Oh. What is it?" "Aren't we going to have a meeting?" "No."
"No?" "Yeah, no." "But you said..." "Yeah. I said, "often", didn't I? I said often, not everyday, Ms. Lee Hyeri. Back to work." Then there goes.. "Back to work." "Back to work? What work?! UGH!" And that's how it went for the rest of the week. She goes to work on time, the meeting is over. She arrives even an hour early, there's no meeting or even a word for the entire day. It was as if he was purposely making her miss a meeting. It was at 10:00 AM of her 10th day at the new station when once again, she arrived early and no meeting was conducted. His asshole boss came out of his office carrying a bag and asked Jin Goo to come with him. She called his attention twice but he kept ignoring her. Then she had enough.. She ran after them and then.. "RYU JUN YEOL SUNBAE!" Her voice echoed through the entire police department that made Ryu Jun Yeol stop on his track. With a smug frowned face, he face her. Without breaking the frightening eye contact, he slowly walked up to her. "Step into my office, Ms. Lee Hyeri. Now." Right there and then, she wished the floor would swallow her down. But then she thought.. It's now or never, Lee Hyeri.

Caught Up Chapter 2 - Off Duty
RYU JUN YEOL’s POV
Radio: Station! Station! Requesting for back up!
The radio static echoed through his entire room as soon as he got out of the shower. He smirk upon hearing the sound of his colleague’s voice requesting for back up. It’s going to be a busy day, he thought.
He grabbed his pants and shirt, and started to get dressed while still listening to the continuous exchange of reports on the radio.
Police 1: We have a 10-31 situation here. Could be a 10-80. Please send back up!
Police 2: What is your 10-20?
Police 1: Just a few blocks past the Yong-in University. Hurry!
Police 2: Arasso! We are sending Team B right away. Keep us posted!
(10-31 is a police code for robbery, 10-20 is for location, and 10-80 means there will be a chase.)
“YONG-IN University? That’s closer to another station! These guys never learn.” He said to himself as he hurriedly put on his jacket and looked for his keys. It’s time to get to work.
Although technically, it isn’t. But he wouldn’t be the infamous Ryu Jun Yeol if he wouldn’t join in the chase.
Ryu Jun Yeol is a 30-year old senior cop based in Jangan Police Department. And he is always about one thing: doing his job. He believes that regardless of any other situation, the safety of his people will always be his priority. But he is not famous in their department for his mission accomplishments and/or other remarkable performance. He’s well-known for something else.
Doing things he was told not to do.
Including going to work when he is off duty.
Just like today.
He got into his car and started heading to Yong-in. He turned on the police radio installed in his own car to monitor the situation. It was then reported that Team B had already been dispatched to the location and when he was just 5 five minutes away, the chase for the culprit has started.
Radio: He got away. The suspect is about 5’4” tall and he’s wearing a black jacket and dark blue cap. He’s also carrying a small duffel bag.
The culprit apparently robbed the bank located few blocks away from the school. As he listened, he tried to figure out where the robber will be going. It’s what he do best.
“Hmm.. where are you headed?” He thought.
The suspect is carrying a bag so he wouldn’t be able to get away that fast. He made a turn and parked at the end of a small alley before he got of his car carrying only his precious hand cuffs.
“Making a turn on the 3rd street, you should be coming from here in 3…2…”
Before he was able to finish counting, a tall guy wearing a jacket and dark blue cap while carrying a duffel bag, got out of the small alley and ran past him.
“Yaaah! I’m not done counting!”
The suspect was a few metters away from him before he started running after him. In just a few minutes, he was able to caught up to the guy and he jump over him. He has able to easily put him down and immediately hand cuffed him.
“Not so fast, bad guy. You’ve been busy, huh?”
“Yah, let me go.”
“Aiiissssh! Shut it. Come with me!”
With a sheepish grin on his face, he drove the car on the way to the Jangan station with the culprit, letting everyone involved in the car chase that he already got him.
“See you later, boys!”
He let out a short giggle as he imagined what could be waiting for him at the station. Looks like once again, it’s not only the culprit whose pissed at him this early.
They arrived at the station within a few minutes and he carried the culprit inside the station. He was welcomed with piercing looks from his colleagues, a few smiles from the people from his team, and a grumpy look from their superior. He was able to catch the culprit, but obviously, not everyone is happy about it.
“Good morning, everyone! Yah, JoonGi-ssi, can you get me a coffee, please? Kumapta!”
He walked past by his hoobae, who gladly obliged to his request. He handed the culprit to his collegue, Baek Dong Woo. The leader of Team B. His rival.
“Baek Dong Woo-ssi, here’s your culprit.” He said cheerfully.
Baek Dong Woo ordered one of his subordinates to take the suspect before he faced him again – still with a smug face.
“Ryu Jun Yeol, what the hell do you think you’re doing?”
“Uhm, let me guess. Ahh, that’s right. My job. Wae?”
“But you are off duty and my team was called for back-up. Not you.”
“And your point is?”
“My point is, you should let those on duty to do their job. You should’ve stayed out of it.”
“Ah. So you’re point is, I should ignore the call for back up even when I am the closest available cop in the area. That I should’ve let him ran past me even if I could totally help everyone to catch him?”
“Ryu Jun—“
“You know how I am, Dong Woo-ssi. The safety of my people comes first, regardless if I am on duty or not. Now, if you are so pissed because I was able to catch the culprit before your entire team could, then get over it. Because guess what, I don’t care.”
“Yaaah!”
“Besides, the other police department was closer to the scene, why did you respond, anyway? You never learn, Baek Dong Woo.”
“Ryu Jun Yeol, you assho—“
“Watch your language, Dong Woo. I am still 3 months ahead of you.”
He gave Baek Dong Woo a pat on the shoulder before he could even finish swearing at him, then he walked past everyone else. Kang Joon Gi handed him his coffee as he walked straight to his desk.
Joon Gi followed him.
“You are so cool, Sunbae.”
He gave him a high five as he sat on his desk. He’s glad that at least the people from his own team thinks he’s cool, because everyone else doesn’t. Ryu Jun Yeol is Janga-gu Police Department’s infamous ignorant asshole. He always finishes his job, alright. But there were very few instances that he follow the rules and his colleagues believe that he lacks respect for everyone.
“Joon Gi-ah. The transfers will arrive today, right?”
“Ne, Sunbae. One of them is from Daegu and the other one will come from Gwangju. They will arrive today, probably any minute now.”
“Ah. One of them will be a part of our team in exchange for Lee Woo Jin, right? Who is it gonna be?”
“Uhm, I don’t know yet. But I heard one of them is a girl.”
“Aish. I hope we don’t get her. She’ll be a pain in the ass, I bet.”
They shared a laugh and another high five. Ryu Jun Yeol might be a burden to everyone but not to his team. He cares for them and never leaves everyone behind, as long as that person can catch up to him. That is why he hates working with a female police. He thinks that they are too slow and emotional, and that would be the last thing he needs in his line of work. He wants a subordinate that will always be up for anything – like him.
“Is that why you came here today even if you are off duty, Sunbae? You want to see the newbie?”
“Yes. I want to assess the newbie before we get back to work tomorrow. I hope he arrives soon.”
And as if the high heavens heard him, his superior walked up to both of them. Behind his superior are the newbies – one man and a woman. The latter looks awkwardly uncomfortable, though.
“Ryu Jun Yeol-ssi.”
“Ne, Chief!”
“You made quite a commotion here again today, huh?”
“Just doing my job, Chief.”
“Very well then, the transfers arrived today. If you have time, I would like to introduce them to you.”
“Sure. I am actually waiting for them to arrive.”
“Great. Here are they are.”
The newbies stood on the Chief’s left side and he’s still weirdly distracted with the girl newbie who’s wearing white sneakers, dark pants and a plaid shirt over a plain v-neck black shirt.
“This is Jun Min Goo and he is from Daegu and he’s been with Daegu Department for 5 years. And this young lady right here is Lee Hyeri from Gwangju Police Department. She is a junior.
They exchanged greetings and shook each other’s hands before the Chief continued with the introduction.
“One of them will be on  your team, Ryu Jun Yeol-ssi.”
“I understand, Chief. Welcome to our team, Jun Min – “
But Chief cut him off when he was about to face Jun Min Goo.
“Lee Hyeri, Mr. Ryu here will be your team leader. Jun Yeol-ssi, Lee Hyeri will be the new member of your team.”
He was caught off guard and didn’t know how to react.
He will have a woman on his team.
A woman. A newbie.
Oh crap.

Caught Up Chapter 1 - Bad day. Bad life?
Annyeong, chingus! So, I have finally decided to start writing again but this time I am writing for my absolute forever otp, Yeolri. I have been planning to do this since last year and I am glad to finally get to it and I am rambling. Sorry.
So, here is the first part of Caught Up. I hope you’ll like it. 😊😉
********
LEE HYERI’S POV
As soon as she reached for her pillow to directly cover her face from the sunlight peeking through the window, the alarm she has set to wake her up at 6:00 in the morning everyday finally went on and echoed through the entire room.
“Uuuuggggghhhhh.. Five more minutes!”
But of course, the alarm continued to snooze and it’s practically blowing her head off which should make sense since she intentionally set it to maximum volume.
The alarm went on and off continuously every after 30 minutes. When she finally decided to toss it out the window just to shut it up, she tried to reach for her phone. But before she was able to do so, the alarm tone suddenly change to her ringtone.
Someone’s calling and she had no choice but to take it.
“Mmm?”
“YEOBOSAEYO?!”
“Yaah!” The person on the other was too loud, she had to take the phone away from her ear for second.
“YAH, LEE HYERI! EODIYA?”
“Aissshhh! Hae Sung-ah!”
“AIGOO! ARE YOU STILL IN BED? LEE HYERI! IT’S 8 O'CLOCK AND WE HAVE A CONFERENCE MEETING IN AN HOUR! BOSS IS ALREADY LOOKING FOR EVERYONE. WHERE ARE —-”
As soon as she come to her senses, she quickly checked the time and it is exactly 8:05 AM. She balled her eyes out, hang up the call and jumped out of her bed as she quickly reached for her towel for a quick shower. She is already late but she cannot be late for the conference.
“Not again, Lee Hyeri.”
It’s a good thing that getting ready is never a problem for her. She could finish getting dress in as fast as 20 minutes, because Lee Hyeri is not one of those girls who spend long hours in the shower, longer hours figuring out what to wear, and even more longer hours in front of the mirror putting make ups and fixing their hair.
She could get dressed and drive her bike to work in just 40 minutes.
Her only problem is she never wakes up on time.
After taking a rather quick shower, she wore her pants she had already prepared last night, paired it up with a polo shirt and white sneakers. She drastically blow dried her hair before she tied up in a ponytail. The last thing she need is to look glamorous while working.
How can someone who keeps a gun (okay, barely) and rides a motorcycle to work dress up better than the Lee Hyeri outfit? It’s not that she doesn’t like wearing pretty dresses and shoes. She wanted to, but she just can’t. So for her, she looks perfectly okay.
Lee Hyeri is a 23 year old tomboy-ish junior police officer. Despite working non-stop for three years, she has the least experience on being an actual cop. That is why even after being in the department for 3 years, she still feels like she is a newbie.
She spends more time attending conferences, doing paperworks and being a pushover buying coffee for her sunbaes whenever she’s late for work – which happens most of the time. She is hard working, alright. But she is never panctual. No matter how early she sleeps and how many alarm clock she sets, she never wakes up on time.
Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station Parking Lot
Hyeri was about to park her bike on the motorcycle area of the parking lot when her phone started ringing.
Park Jin Goo.
Her face crumpled as she heaved a sigh upon seeing the name on the screen. It’s her sunbae. The asshole. The moment she saw his name, she wanted to turn her phone off but she knew it’ll be useless because he’s probably already waiting for her at the entrance.
She had no choice but to answer.
“Yeobosaeyo?”
“Hyeri-ah!”
“Ne, Sunbae?”
“Where are you, lazy bug? The meeting is going to start in 2 minutes. Chief will be furious if he finds out you’re late again. So, go get coffee for everyone instead. I’ll cover up for you.”
“But, Sunbae. I’m already here at the parking lot. I can be there in time for the meeting. You know I can’t miss it.”
“Wae?”
“Chief already gave me a warning after million chances. I’m dead if I won’t be there again.”
“Jinja? I see. And you spent a minute of the remaining 2 minutes explaining this to me. So, you’re late, anyway. We are about to start. Go get the coffee. It’s Americano for everyone. Ppali!”
“Sunbae!! Sunbae!!? Aaaisssshhh!!”
Park Jin Goo hang up before she was able to complain further. She almost kicked her bike down and throw all of her stuff all over the place. But instead, she started running towards the nearest coffee shop which was luckily just a few block away.
When she got there, to her dismay, she arrived to a long line of people lining up for their morning coffee. When it was her turn, she immediately ordered 8 Americano coffee and hurriedly yet carefully ran back to the station as fast as she could.
It was right in time that the meeting was dismissed when she arrived. To make the situation even more annoying, Park Jin Goo welcomed her with an equally annoying grin on his face.
“You are such a slow poke, Lee Hyeri. The meeting is over and we no longer need those.”
But he took one, anyway. Hyeri scoffed as she politely offered the coffee to rest of the staff who were in the conference. She was on her way to her desk when she received a text message from one of her colleagues.
“Chief was furious and he was looking for you, Hyeri-ah! He said he’ll call you later, so stay put. Arasso?”
It was Jae Hyun. One of her very few friends at the station.
Hyeri suddenly felt heavy, like she would rather call it a day even it is only 10:00 in the morning. It is still early but her day is already a mess. She bet nothing could be worst.
“Lee Hyeri!”
Or so she thought.
One of her seniors called out to her but when she turned to face him, she immediately noticed a huge pile of paperwork he’s struggling to balance.
*Oh no. Not again.*
“Yes, Gwang Soo-sunbae?”
“I need these papers sorted out before the end of the day. Don’t go home until it’s done. Understood?”
Using both hands, she took the pile of paperwork her senior recklessly handed to her. She nodded to him as a sign of acknowledging his orders, but in her head, she wanted to throw all of it back to his face.
She can’t believe it’s happening again. Hyeri worked her behind for years to pursue her dream of becoming a police officer and yet, she ended up being everyone’s pushover.
Hyeri walked back to her desk to get started. She figured that whatever’s happening shall pass and she simply needs to stay positive, patient, and focused.
It was around 8:30 in the evening when she got a call from the chief’s secretary – summoning her.
When she arrived at his office, she carefully knocked before entering. She’s incredibly nervous but she tried to stay calm - hoping she’ll just get another warning or something.
“You’re here?”
“Yes. Good evening, Chief. Your secretary told me to come. She said you wanted to see me.”
“I do. And I also want you to pack your things, Ms. Lee.”
“I’m sorry, pack my things?”
“You heard it right. Pack your things, Lee Hyeri. You will be transferring.”
“What? Tra– Trans– Transferring?”
“I need you to clear out your desk by tonight because someone else will be using it tomorrow. And as for you, I have processed your transfer papers. You will be moving to Jangan Police Department.”
“Jangan-gu? In Suwon? I don’t understand. I mean, why am I being transferred?”
“It’s funny you asked. You have been nothing but late for the entire three years that you have been working here, Hyeri-ssi. We can only tolerate so much. Besides, we have recently received a massive bunch of new cases to handle and we could use all the help that we can get. Unfortunately, we cannot get any of that from you, can we? So, some people from Jangan-gu will be transferred here in exchange for you.”
Tears started falling down her cheeks and she felt like her chest is going to burst, but she couldn’t do anything.
She was petrified. Hyeri doesn’t know what to say or do without forgetting that she’s talking to her boss. She’s losing it.
“This conversation is over and good luck on your new department. You can go now.”
The next thing she knew, she’s on her way out of the station.
She’s being transferred.
To Suwon.
Of all places.
