End of Summer/Early Fall Skincare Favorites Part 2.
It is almost the end of summer and the beginning of fall. If you are starting to feel that summertime sadness, you are not alone. Best know that the feeling will pass, and soon, we will be swooning for fall. It is still feeling like summer out there, though. The weather is still warm, and the daylights are still long. So, we might as well enjoy the last couple of weeks of summer, right? As…

WLDKAT. Yucca + Lactic Acid Liquid Exfoliant
Tumblr media
Brand: WLDKAT.
Product Type: Exfoliant
Price: $10-15 USD*
Size: 3.33 fl oz
✔️Vegan  ✔️Clean Ingredients  ✔️Cruelty Free  ✔️Sustainable Packaging
Star Ingredients:
Yucca: Antioxidant, soothes
11% Lactic Acid: AHA, exfoliant
10% Glycolic Acid: AHA, exfoliant
Texture: Liquid
Feel: Burn-y, Tight
Scent: 🌸
Results: There was a lot of hype around this product, but I, personally, wasn't impressed with it. I bought it because it said it was a gentle exfoliant you could use every day. The first time I used it, I got severely burned after indirect sun exposure through a car window. It looked like I'd gotten sunburn on top of a chemical burn. It was really awful and took a while to heal.
I thought maybe I'd used the product wrong, so I tried it again a couple times, only to have pretty severe redness each time after use. Not as bad as the first burn, thankfully, but I wasn't impressed.
After a little investigation, I found out that there was also glycolic acid in this, in addition to the lactic acid. In fact, the percentage on both acids was much higher than anything I've used previously. Not gentle enough for every-day use at all. I wound up watering this down by over half just to make it something I could use. Really disappointing.
Comps: If you really love the idea of a 10% lactic acid liquid exfoliant, try Sacheu Lactic Tonic AHA Resurfacing Essence ($26/3.33oz), Hanskin Hyaluron Exfoliating AHA Treatment ($27/5.0oz), or Undefined Beauty R&R Exfoliator ($28/3.4oz). OLEHENRIKSEN Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner has a 7% AHA mix, which is a little bit gentler ($35/6.5oz). Indie Lee Exfoliating Solution, on the other hand, is a stronger product with 15% AHAs ($52/4.2oz). Personally, this experience has taught me that I need a much weaker product, and if you feel the same way or are new to using acids, you may want to try Thayers 2% AHA Toner with Glycolic + Lactic Acids, which is super reasonably priced at $14.99 for a 12oz bottle.
Similarly, you could try a peel pad, which just a liquid exfoliant with a pre-soaked pad. For that, I'd recommend BeautyStat Cosmetics Universal Triple Action Daily Peel ($75/30 ct), which is a little on the pricey side. I'm also not sure of the concentration of acids. The brand does offer a 10ct trial pack for 29 USD, which might be a good way to see if you like the product before committing to the higher price point. Pacifica Glow Baby Brightening Peel Pads 10% AHA + BHA is another option at a much lower price point of 16 USD for a 60ct tub.
If you think peel pads are bullshit and would rather try a serum formulation, there are plenty of options. People go bonkers over Sunday Riley Good Genes All-in-One Lactic Acid Treatment, but it's hella expensive ($85/1 oz). Dermalogica is a tried and true brand, as well, and offers both the Liquid Peelfoliant with 10% AHA, .5% BHA, 4.5% PHA ($65/2 oz) and Clear Start Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel with 10% AHA and 2% DHA ($29.50/1 oz). Closer to the midrange is Mad Hippie AHA Exfoliating Peel ($29.99/1 oz). Bubble Moon Walk Gentle Exfoliating Serum is a 7% AHA + BHA mix ($17/1 oz). Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliating Treatment is going to be the cheapest at 6 USD for a 1 fl oz bottle. It has 10% AHA + BHA acids.
If you'd rather use a much stronger product once a week, I'd recommend a mask. Higher priced brands include Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial ($80/1.69oz), OLEHENRIKSEN Dewtopia 25% Acid Flash Facial ($50/1.7oz), Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Full Strength Exfoliating Mask ($49/2.0oz), and Beekman 1802 Potato Peel Rapid Resurfacing Milk Facial ($49/1.69oz), which has a 25% acid concentration. Midrange options include Mad Hippie Microdermabrasion Facial ($31.99/2 oz). CosRX The AHA BHA PHA LHA 35 Peel is a powerful treatment that really is only used once a week and is super reasonably priced ($19/1.01 oz). Bubble Deep Dive Exfoliating Mask is a close second at $18 per 1.5oz, but has an unspecified acid content.
As you can see, your option for exfoliants is pretty wide reaching. You can even find cleansers with AHAs and BHAs in them. They're really flexible actives, and you can go stronger or weaker, daily or intermittent use. It's really up to you. Just remember that using AHAs will increase your photosensitivity, so wear sunscreen.
*WLDKAT. Skincare has gone out of business. Any products remaining are being sold through closeout retailers at highly discounted prices, which can vary. Typically, you will find them listed between $10-15 USD. Unfortunately, I can't find the original prices, but as this was a very 'buzzy' skincare brand, products were priced on the higher side.

Beyond Beauty: Embracing the Best Skin Care Regimens
Introduction: In today's bustling world, where stress, pollution, and the fast pace of life can take a toll on our skin, the quest for the best skin care products becomes paramount. Whether you're a skincare enthusiast or someone looking to kickstart a new routine, navigating through the myriad of options available can be overwhelming. Fear not, for in this comprehensive guide, we'll delve into a curated selection of top-notch skin care products that promise to rejuvenate, nourish, and unveil your skin's natural radiance.
Cleansers: A clean canvas is the foundation of every effective skincare regimen. Opt for gentle yet effective cleansers that remove dirt, oil, and impurities without stripping away the skin's natural moisture. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides, which help maintain hydration levels while cleansing thoroughly. Some popular picks include Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser, and Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel.
Moisturizers: Hydration is key to achieving plump, supple skin, regardless of your skin type. Invest in a moisturizer that caters to your specific needs, whether you have dry, oily, combination, or sensitive skin. Lightweight, non-comedogenic formulas are ideal for oily and acne-prone skin, while rich, emollient creams are perfect for combating dryness. Consider products like CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, and Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb for optimal hydration and long-lasting moisture.
Serums: Serums are concentrated elixirs packed with potent ingredients that target specific skin concerns, such as fine lines, dark spots, and uneven texture. Incorporate serums enriched with antioxidants like vitamin C, niacinamide, and retinol into your routine to combat signs of aging and environmental damage. Fan-favorite serums include The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, Skinceuticals C E Ferulic, and Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment for a radiant, youthful complexion.
Sunscreens: Shielding your skin from harmful UV rays is crucial for preventing premature aging, hyperpigmentation, and skin cancer. Opt for broad-spectrum sunscreens with SPF 30 or higher that offer protection against both UVA and UVB rays. Lightweight, non-greasy formulas that absorb quickly and leave no white cast are ideal for daily use. Look for sunscreens like EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46, Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40, and La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-in Milk Sunscreen SPF 100 for comprehensive sun protection without compromising on texture or comfort.
Treatments: For targeted solutions to specific skin concerns, incorporate treatments like exfoliants, masks, and spot treatments into your regimen. Chemical exfoliants containing ingredients like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) help slough away dead skin cells and unclog pores, promoting a smoother, more radiant complexion. Meanwhile, masks infused with ingredients such as clay, charcoal, or hyaluronic acid provide deep cleansing, hydration, and detoxification benefits. Some top contenders include Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask, and Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial for transformative results.
Conclusion: Achieving healthy, glowing skin is not just a dream but an attainable reality with the right skincare arsenal at your disposal. By incorporating high-quality products tailored to your skin's unique needs and concerns, you can embark on a journey towards radiant beauty and self-confidence. Remember to prioritize consistency, patience, and self-care, as true beauty radiates from within. So, seize the day and treat your skin to the pampering it deserves, because when it comes to skincare, only the best will suffice.

Rough Texture Care
Hello! Today we will be talking about how to properly take care of rough textured skin. There are several components that go into what causes rough texture on the face, some including dryness and or an over-accumulation of dead skin cells. Another factor is the environment, living in cold, windy conditions or even low-humidity climates also causes rough textured skin. Also taking long, hot showers or even too much bathing can also create texture. Some ways to prevent textured skin includes exfoliating 2-3 times a week, trying a chemical peel, staying hydrated, and implementing Vitamin C serums or other antioxidants into your skincare routine. Some ingredients that will help with rough textured skin include vitamin c, hyaluronic acid, AHAs, and retinol. Some dermatologist recommended products include "Tiger Grass Enzyme Foam Cleanser", "Glossier Solution", "Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment", "Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Peel Mask", "Skinceuticals Glycolic Overnight".

My dermatologist-approved skincare routine
I have relatively ultra-sensitive skin prone and this is truly the crème de la crème routine that has done wonders for my skin. I get compliments all of the time for my flawless skin so I have decided to share my routine. I have near perfect skin that hasn't been touched by any professional treatment yet, including botox.
This routine has removed my acne and scars from sun damage in less than a few weeks. I did countless of research before purchasing each and majority of these products were recommended to me from dermatologists as well as my older friends with amazing, wrinkle-free skin (45+) who swear by these products. I'll include links and their prices.
Oil-based cleanser:
Rohto Mentholatum - Hada Labo Gokujyun Oil Cleansing [$15]
This oil cleanser is truly the best in the game. It takes seconds to remove all impurities and heavy makeup from my face. It truly is the cheapest product that I've found to work for me.
Tumblr media
Water-based cleanser:
isClinical Clinical - Cleansing Complex [$45]
This is truly the best. It completely removes anything that I might've missed and feels incredible. My skin adores this.
Tumblr media
Toner:
Obagi Medical Nu-Derm Toner [$43]
It took a lot of trial and error to find a good toner. My skin would become irritated insanely easy with other toners that caused rashes. This is truly one of my holy grails, I use it after every step.
Tumblr media
Face mask:
HANACURE - All-In-One Facial Set [$110]
Just trust me. Nothing will ever top this. I typically use one once a week and that's all I need.
Tumblr media
Essence:
SK-II- Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) [$99]
I swear by this product. The greatest in the game. You automatically will feel the difference. I cannot live without it.
Tumblr media
Antioxidant Serums:
C E FERULIC® with 15% L-Ascorbic Acid [$169]
This is impossible to top. There's no product like this. Truly the best Vitamin C in the market. My dermatologist sent me to this after I suffered from sun damage that resulted in sun damage. I use this every morning and a little goes a long way. It stings a bit and has a funky smell but I promise, if there's one thing every woman should invest in, it's this. It improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, creates a brighter complexion, and improves skin texture and discoloration.
Tumblr media
Eye cream:
SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Eye Complex [$105]
Like I said, SkinCeuticals is the best brand out there. Everything they claim, they deliver.
Tumblr media
Serums:
Sunday Riley - Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment [$122]
I cannot live without this. I apply it every night and notice drastic changes immediately. 10/10
Tumblr media
Tretinoin:
Tretinoin Anti-Aging Cream .05% [Prescription needed]
If you're over 18 and not on tretinoin, you're failing at life already. The earlier you start, the better. I owe my lack of any professional facial treatments thanks to this beauty. You can only get it via dermatologist. 60 year old you will thank you for this.
Tumblr media
Face cream:
SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 Anti-Aging Lipid Replenishment Treatment [$136]
Every older woman I've met swears by it. This is truly the best facial cream in the game. I apply it twice a day and I love.
Tumblr media
Of course, I could never forget sunscreen.
Sunscreen:
EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 [$39]
I apply this product every morning under my makeup. I never step foot outside in the sun without this sunscreen. One of the best sunscreens out there, especially for women with darker complexions. It does not leave a white cast on my olive, dark beige skin which I love. It's sculpted to perfection.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE SUNDAY RILEY PRODUCTS? SHARE FAVES BELOW!👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 _______________________________________________ Sunday Riley’s Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment is the OG. It was among the first Lactic Acid exfoliating treatments I tried — and could very well have been the first. In fact, as I recall, Sunday Riley’s Good Genes put Lactic Acid on the map for me. I had little if any awareness of the gentler AHA prior. . This stuff isn’t cheap! At $85 for 1 oz., you could be forgiven for having really high expectations of the iconic Lactic Acid serum — as I initially did. But rest assured, it’s one of the most well-formulated and best exfoliating treatments with Lactic Acid. So you’re getting something that’s legitimately pro-skin health for your money. . Gentle exfoliation like the kind that Good Genes delivers helps to speed up the desquamation process, leaving the complexion free of dead skin, enhancing the penetration of actives and boosting your glow. With Good Genes, you get a healthy glow without the irritation common to acid treatments. . I think the reason for that more gentle effect is the product’s blend of soothing ferments and healing aloe and arnica. Those skin soothers that make all the difference. And with Good Genes, they’re all at higher concentrations than the Lactic Acid itself. Bravo, Sunday Riley! . What makes Good Genes iconic? Well, it’s gentle, yet effective, has a dope name (hah!) and is a whole sensorial experience. Yes, it smells great, too! . Curious? Read more about my top picks of Lactic Acid serums on today’s new Skincarma Blog. 19 beauty products that are worth the money
New Post has been published on https://tattlepress.com/latest/19-beauty-products-that-are-worth-the-money/
19 beauty products that are worth the money
Tumblr media
CNN —
Whether we’re covering expert-recommended beauty tools under $25 or the best Amazon beauty look-alikes under $30, we’re no strangers to the fact that high-quality beauty doesn’t always have to break the bank.
That being said, sometimes a little splurge can make a world of a difference. “Affordable drugstore makeup can be really amazing,” shares London-based makeup artist Jenny Coombs. “But I would definitely invest in high-quality foundations and concealers, considering they’re applied to your entire face.”
Mia Jones, a makeup artist based in New York who’s worked with celebs like Gigi Hadid and Mariah Carey, echoes that sentiment. “Skin care and complexion products are always worth the splurge,” she says. “What you use every day and what comes into direct contact with your skin should be as quality as possible.”
Whether you’re looking to treat yourself to a game-changing skin care tool, gift someone a truly luxurious makeup item or invest in skin care made from only the best ingredients, we’ve rounded up 19 splurge-worthy beauty and skin care goodies for you to choose from. All of these have been recommended by makeup artists, hairstylists and “skinfluencers,” or they’ve been researched and tested by us.
“I love getting microcurrent facials like the one at Joanna Vargas salon,” shares Molly Greenwald, an LA-based makeup artist. She recommends using a handheld device at home to achieve similar results. “They really work in lifting and filling the facial muscles and skin instantly as well as cumulatively over time.”
Greenwald specifically calls out the NuFace Trinity Facial Trainer Device, a microcurrent treatment device that helps to rejuvenate your skin. For a little background on how this actually works, our body’s natural current starts to slow as we age, which leads to many skin concerns associated with aging — like sagging and wrinkles. The microcurrents in this device mimic the natural current of our bodies, which when activated work to tone facial muscles, resulting in bouncier, firmer skin.
Tumblr media
Dermstore
iS Clinical Active Serum
“I don’t know a person that has tried it that isn’t in love with this multibeneficial serum,” shares Greenwald. “It helps with wrinkles, acne and the appearance of pores while also soothing and evening the skin tone.”
While many serums boast specific ingredients that help with specific skin concerns like dullness, acne or dryness, this one is a self-proclaimed “multitasking face serum” with benefits that range from anti-aging to brightening and even acne prevention.
Tumblr media
Sephora
Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment
This lactic acid treatment from Sunday Riley is a fan favorite and Underscored editor favorite, particularly when it comes to plumping and brightening. Lactic acid is one of the most hydrating alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which just means that in addition to exfoliating your skin to reveal a smoother complexion (fighting dead skin cells that lead to a range of skin concerns like bumps, dullness and acne), the active ingredient also moisturizes your skin, keeping it luminous and bouncy.
The addition of licorice as an ingredient (and its associated brightening properties) can enhance your skin’s radiance and lead to the reduction of spots and discoloration, something reviewers love about this treatment. One reviewer writes that “active exfoliants have been dismal because most of them irritate my sensitive skin. Good Genes has turned that all around! It hydrates and gently exfoliates without irritating.”
Tumblr media
Sephora
La Mer The Lip Balm
You’re probably thinking what we’re thinking — a lip balm that costs $70? That can’t be serious. But if you’re familiar with the luxury skin care brand La Mer, the price tag may come as less of a surprise. This mint-scented and velvety soft lip balm calms and conditions your lips while supporting their natural moisture barrier and helping to protect against environmental damage.
It’s free of sulfates, parabens and tons of other less than ideal ingredients, and it boasts La Mer’s signature Miracle Broth — a formulation that aims to help restore your skin to its healthiest and most radiant form.
Reviewers acknowledge the steep price tag but are convinced that despite the cost, it’s worth every penny. One person writes that they have “tried every form of lip moisturizer on the planet, and this blows everything else out of the water.”
Tumblr media
Sephora
Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask
Tatcha is known for creating some of the most effective skin care on the market, and this creamy vitamin C mask is no exception. Rios credits this mask for keeping her skin glowing, noting its luxurious texture and super-hydrating benefits.
Formulation-wise, it’s packed with rich, high-quality ingredients, from two different types of vitamin C to an AHA complex derived from seven different fruit extracts, and the brand’s signature Hadasei-3 Complex, a proprietary blend of “double-fermented Uji green tea, Akita rice and Mozuku algae.” All of this works together, resulting in a mask that leaves your skin instantly softer, smoother and more radiant. There are also some more long-term effects — the vitamin C helps to prevent signs of aging, while the AHA complex works to improve overall skin texture over time.
Tumblr media
Sephora
Gisou Honey-Infused Hair Perfume
A hair perfume may not be in everyone’s beauty rotation, but this option might just convince you that it should be. “This honey-infused perfume is ethically sourced,” shares Yamga, and draws on ingredients from Gisou founder Negin Mirsalehi’s father’s bee gardens. “The combination of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants assist in maintaining your hair’s moisture while also leaving behind a beautiful floral scent.”
Simply spray on your hair after styling for a summer-perfect scent that will linger throughout the day, and of course provide your hair with those benefits Yamga mentions. Just be sure to use a light hand, since a little goes a long way.
Tumblr media
Nordstrom
Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer Broad Spectrum SPF 25
“This tiny little stick is really all you need in a pinch when it comes to complexion,” shares Greenwald. “The high-quality pigments cover and smooth even the most challenging areas and can be buffed out on the entirety of the skin for a soft focus foundation.”
And she acknowledges that while it’s a big price for what seems like a really small product, anyone who has tried it would attest that it’s well worth its price. Not only do reviewers love the full coverage effect of this concealer, they also love how moisturizing it is. Concealers are notorious for looking cakey or emphasizing dryness, especially throughout the day — but not this product. Because a little goes a long way, the small amount actually lasts quite a while (one reviewer notes up to a year). And the formulation includes SPF 25, which is always a big bonus in our book.
Tumblr media
Sephora
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Face Oil
“I use this lightweight oil at night,” shares Rios, “and wake up with my skin looking fresh and dewy.” The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Face Oil is one of our all-time favorite skin care products as well, because it’s so simple yet so effective. With ingredients like lavender essential oil and evening primrose oil, the formula works to restore your skin overnight so you wake up with visibly brighter, radiant and, of course, moisturized skin.
If you’re wondering how that actually works, it turns out our skin actually repairs itself while we sleep. Targeting our skin with a beneficial, high-quality oil like this one while it’s already going through those natural restorative functions only helps it along that process.
Sabrina Yamani Yamga, an award-winning hairstylist based in Chicago, is a big fan of the Dyson Airwrap, which we’ve reviewed in its entirety here. “This little device comes with so many attachments that work fast,” she shares, “and uses intelligent heat control technology to give you that salon blowout look without having to leave home.”
While the price tag is high, this product truly performs in a way that no other product on the market does. To start, you’re not styling your hair with the same type of heat as a standard iron or hair dryer, which means that you’re doing way less damage to your hair. The other noteworthy feature, and something that Yamga calls out, is the number and variety of attachments. This product isn’t just a fancy hair curler — it comes with two different sized curling barrels, three different brushes for that easy blowout look and a prestyling dryer, an attachment that achieves a similar result to that of the equally if not more popular Dyson Supersonic.
If you consider the price of all those products combined, the cost of this one product seems a bit less daunting. In addition to all those features, the Dyson Airwrap is just a joy to use — you don’t have to worry about burning your fingers, it’s much lighter than other hair dryers and stylist tools, and the process of doing your hair is just way more comfortable overall.
Tumblr media
Nordstrom
Trish McEvoy Beauty Balm Instant Solutions BB Cream SPF 35
We’re big fans of an all-in-one product, and this BB cream from Trish McEvoy does it all. It primes your skin, evens out its tone and simultaneously hydrates your skin while controlling oil. Like many luxury makeup products, the skin care benefits of this product are built in — peptides in the formulation help to improve your skin’s texture, while SPF coverage helps to prevent skin damage and aging caused by UVA and UVB rays.
Unlike other similar creams, this option provides much more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, and it’s definitely buildable for anywhere from a medium to full coverage.
Tumblr media
Dermstore
By Terry Baume de Rose Lip Care
“I’ve been using this for years,” shares Mireya Rios, an actress and content creator with over 3.8 million followers on TikTok, where she shares the best of beauty. “It’s expensive, but it keeps my lips hydrated, and it smells amazing too.”
This rich lip balm features a suite of nourishing and reparative ingredients, from essential rose wax, which works to soothe and restructure your lips, to floral oils that help nourish and moisturize them, to bio-ceramides, which smooth the skin while providing anti-aging benefits. While it’s perfect as an everyday lip balm, its formulation is also aimed at helping your lips bounce back from periods of dryness or damage.

Dermstore
Luzern Laboratories Serum Absolut V15
“Vitamin C is an integral part of skin care,” shares Jones. “It reverses sun damage, brightens [and] reduces pigmentation.”
She recommends this serum specifically, which features pure vitamin C in addition to a ton of other vitamins and minerals, including vitamins E, A, B3, B12 and D3. Marketed as a multivitamin serum, the blend of goodies in this serum helps to address a whole range of skin goals, from assisting in the production of collagen to reducing inflammation and improving skin elasticity.
“It is so worth the splurge,” Jones raves, calling it “a miracle product.”
Tumblr media
Dermstore
Skinceuticals C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid
It can be tough when a life-changing product is a pricey one. This vitamin C serum boasts a combination of its namesake ingredient, in addition to vitamin E and ferulic acid, which specifically enhances your skin’s protection against environmental damage that can cause skin damage and aging — whether UVA/UVB rays, ozone pollution or diesel engine exhaust.
In addition to that protection, you’ll reap all the other benefits that come with a high-quality serum formulated with prime ingredients, like firmer, brighter and more even skin. It’s been called “life-changing” by one of our editors, who’s grappling with the fact that this serum is totally worth its high price tag.
Tumblr media
Tatcha
Tatcha The Essence
While essences are massively popular in other parts of the world, they’re still not as common in American skin care routines. But if you’ve ever heard of one, it was probably this option from Tatcha. Made from 100% Hadasei-3 — the brand’s proprietary trio of Japanese superfoods — this product is all skin care goodness and nothing else.
Simply splash a bit of the product into your palms and gently press it into your skin. The formulation helps to prep your skin for all steps of your skin care routine while boosting your skin’s own bounciness, texture and radiance.
Tumblr media
Nordstrom
Tom Ford Eye Color Quad Eye Shadow Palette
Jones calls these eye shadow palettes her favorite splurge. “The presentation of the quad and pigment in the powders are just stunning,” she shares. There are tons of different color and finish combinations to choose from — it’s admittedly hard to choose just one. However, Jones shares that she absolutely loves every palette, so whichever one you decide on is sure to be a great choice.
While people love the matte shades, reviewers go wild for the super-sophisticated, luxurious-looking and eye-catching shimmery shades. Apply them dry for a softer look, or wet for maximum impact — just be prepared for people to ask you about what you’re wearing.
Tumblr media
Amazon
Beautyblender The Crown Jewels Blender Essentials Kit
“Beautyblender is the holy grail of makeup sponges and so worth the price,” shares Jones.
While you may be familiar with the standard-size Beautyblender sponge, Jones is also a fan of the different sizes the brand offers for different parts of your face. The smaller sponge in particular is really perfect for blending product into smaller crevices of your face, like along your hairline or on your nose. It can also be used to precisely apply cream or liquid highlighter or blush.
One piece of advice Jones shares is to keep them clean for optimal performance. Fortunately, this kit also comes with mini cleansers.
Tumblr media

Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick
“I love this multitasking foundation,” shares Coombs. “It’s super easy to apply and build — with a brush, sponge or your fingertips — and works great as a blemish and under-eye concealer.”
This foundation stick from Westman Atelier is super luxurious — the container is heavy, the magnetic cap is amazing and the whole thing just feels expensive. Probably not enough reason to buy the product, but when paired with a high-quality foundation, it’s the cherry on top.
“The silicone-free formula contains many skin-friendly ingredients to hydrate and soothe,” Coombs says. The result is a “luminous, natural finish” that falls in the medium coverage range. However, it’s super buildable and great for targeting any troublesome spots.

Equal parts skin care, makeup and technological innovation, the Opte Precision System is a smart skin care device that the brand calls an “all-in-one solution for hyperpigmentation correction, treatment and prevention.”
On the tech side, the handheld device features a little roller at its tip that you slowly sweep across your face. As you do so, the device scans and detects hyperpigmentation using a patented algorithm. Each time the machine identifies hyperpigmentation (some visible, some that may not be visible to the human eye), the device applies a unique serum.
This optimizing serum, which comes with the kit, combines mineral pigments with 5% niacinamide to help treat the discoloration while also lightly covering any dark spots for a super-natural look. The brand says the serum uses 97% less product than foundation, because the coverage is so targeted. Over the course of eight to 12 weeks, the serum continues to fade and eliminate dark spots and discoloration, improving your skin as you continue to use the device.

Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum
If you’re sensing a theme here, it’s that serums are often totally worth a splurge. This option from Vintner’s Daughter boasts a stunning blend of 22 natural, multiperforming ingredients that balance, nourish, protect and revitalize all different skin types.
“The oil texture smells incredible, absorbs into the skin beautifully and is a great base under makeup,” shares Coombs. The core of the formulation is the brand’s “proprietary Phyto Radiance Infusion,” a 21-day process in which the nutrients from whole plants are infused into the serum’s formula, at which point additional and essential oils are added.
If it sounds a little bit like witchcraft to you, it does to us too. But the result isn’t just an incredible facial serum — it’s also one with responsibly sourced and highly sustainable ingredients.

DO YOU USE A GLYCOLIC ACID OR LACTIC ACID EXFOLIATING TREATMENT EACH DAY? SHARE YOUR FAVES BELOW!👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 _______________________________________________ I love a good acid treatment, but have to confess that my skin doesn’t always tolerate them. I’ve made peace with the fact that Glycolic Acid isn’t my BFF. Except when using it to deodorize my underarms as my daily deodorant! . Even though Glycolic Acid is considered the best acid to exfoliate skin and instantly brighten the complexion, I prefer gentler Lactic Acid. Like Niacinamide, my skin loves Lactic Acid in multiple products, multiple times a day — at any concentration. . I’m excited to share three of my fave Lactic Acid serums for getting your compelxion lit in the new year on today’s new Skincarma Blog. . 💟@drunkelephant | The Drunk Elephant Protini Powerpeptide Resurfacing Serum is a near-perfect exfoliating and anti-aging serum developed with a high concentration of 10% Lactic Acid. I really love the texture, which is more reminiscent of a conventional serum, making it quite easy to layer into any skincare routine. . 💟@biossance | The Biossance Squalane + 10% Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum is a thick, rich Lactic Acid treatment that has the consistency of a heavier moisturizing lotion. It feels wonderful on skin and gently delivers a potent 10% concentration of the AHA for a reliable exfoliating benefit. . 💟@sundayriley | The Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment is legitimately one of the best Lactic Acid treatments — and the true OG. It’s got the perfect blend of exfoliating Lactic Acid at a 10% concentration and proven skin soothers that help to ameliorate the potential sensitizing effects of an AHA. . Curious? Read more about my top picks of Lactic Acid serums on today’s new Skincarma Blog.
