Citation 2022-23- A Moment of Pride and Low-Key Sadness
The atrium was decked in red and black. The stage was set, and all the 58 students of Presidium Raj Nagar waited with excitement and wistfulness for the ceremony to begin. This year’s Citation was special. Although every year’s batch is wonderful in its own way, yet this year’s batch was truly special. There was something remarkable and edgy in this batch. Every teacher felt not only pride, but also a sense of regret. Alas! The beautiful class-discussions, jovial dances and thrilling sports, with this batch, will not happen again!
The ceremony commenced with a brilliant and inspiring speech by Mrs. Sudha Gupta ma’am. She spoke about how Mother’s Pride began as a humble project and yet, gradually evolved into the glorious organization. She talked about the transcendent values that would continue to help Presidians even in the world beyond. It was followed by the main ceremony. The students were given their Citations- honest words from the teachers to inspire them in a unique way. One by one, the students walked on stage to receive the framed Citations from Sudha ma’am herself. And finally, Shower of Blessings began. Their own teachers blessed them by gracing them with rose-petals.
The students, by now bubbling with nostalgia were called on stage to share their feelings. The students left no leaf unturned to touch the hearts of their teachers. Sociology ma’am, Math sir, or Psychology ma’am, every teacher was stirred deeply by such sincere words of gratitude from them. The parents, too, by now overwhelmed at seeing their boys and girls at the end of the school life, shared their heartfelt messages to the fellow parents and teachers. They spoke eloquently and heartily about the trust they placed in Presidium years ago, and how beautifully Presidium shaped their children to be a leader of tomorrow.
Finally, the ceremony concluded with a feeling that was an alloy of love, gratitude, nostalgia, longing and of course, good wishes. The students could be seen hugging and getting pictures clicked with their teachers.

the best way to learn about a culture is through mythology. so here are some books that are inspired by/ is based on hindu mythology:
Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Choksi - super fast and light read, so if you are in a rush, here you go - been promoted by rick riordan (the author of percy jackson) - target audience is middle grade, but it is definitely fun for all ages
The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Choksi - also a fast-paced read - promoted as part of the YA Fantasy genre
Star Daughter by Shveta Tharkar - beautiful lyrical writing (for all you purple prose lovers, you will enjoy this very much) - promoted as YA Fantasy - gorgeous cover (have you seen it?? it's a true beauty)
The Daughter from a Wishing Tree: Unusual Tales about Women in Mythology by Sudha Murty - about strong females in indian mythology - historical literature genre - the short stories are brilliant
The Serpent's Secret by Sayantani Das Gupta - promoted as middle grade genre - seriously underrated - about an american-indian
The Tiger at Midnight by Swati Teerdhala - promoted as YA Fantasy - a bad-ass assassin
The Immortals of Meluha by Amish Tripathi - set in 1900 BC - promoted as fantasy and historical fiction
The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni - half history, half myth fantasy - this is a retelling from panchaali's pov, who is the wife of the legendary Pandavas brothers in the Mahabharat - aptly said from goodreads: "Panchaali is a fiery female redefining for us a world of warriors, gods, and the ever-manipulating hands of fate."
alright look, there are more obviously, and certainly these are the more popular works from where I live (asia), and i think it is always good to start with popular works because they grab your attention and then you can invest a deep interest in it. feel free to add more to the list!

And once there, the students scattered- like happy bubbles- to the different stalls set up in the hall of Presidium Indirapuram. Design schools, Law schools, Hospitality schools, or the tradition-honed Engineering schools. The stage was set for the young Presidians to explore. By means of the very competent representatives from the different colleges, the students learnt a lot. The teachers in charge also helped them guide to the different tables.
Meanwhile, in another hall, Ms. Sudha Gupta spoke to students of grade 11th and 12th- one ones who are very close to deciding a college. 90 minutes later, the students had had their heads full of new information. The students slowly lined up and walked back to the buses- wiser and well, hungrier.

What ITV pairings would you like to see on screen (that haven’t already happened and perhaps some same sex ones too even tho ITV is quite far from that happening)
Oooooooooooooooh! Sooooooo many attractive people to pair up! I’m particularly emotionally invested in my Shehzad/Nehalaxmi casting rn (you can see all my previous fancasts here.)
Okaaaay, let’s get cracking!
(Ofc, because I’m compleeeetely extra, I wanted to have images and an ideal show for each of my pairings. That’s why I took a while to answer.)
Varun Toorkey/Shrenu Parikh
Cute + Cute = Super Maha Cute.
Ideal Show: Something soft and happy and full of good vibes. Nothing problematic whatsoever. Maybe something like two introverts falling for each other but thinking the other isn’t interested and it’s a comedy of errors full of misunderstandings, that ultimately has a happy ending.
Gaurav Khanna/Jennifer Winget
I feel like Gaurav’s hotness is so underappreciated? Why doesn’t he get better shows?????? He’d look so good with Jen!
Ideal Show: Something like a desi version of Suits/The Good Wife; business associates in a high-powered setting, occasional clashing based on ideals (but with respect for each other), palpable sexual tension.
Arjun Bijlani/Surbhi Jyoti
They’re both the optimal balance of cute/hot. Khoob jamegi jodi.
Ideal Show: Fake dating/marriage trope. They start out due to majboori and would rather have been paired with anyone else, but quickly the feelings grow real.
Barun Sobti/Aditi Dev Sharma
Barun deserves a female performer who’s strong enough to hold her own against him, and Aditi is definitely IT.
Ideal Show: Tu Hai Mera Sunday - the serial. He’s smart and funny and chill (a little too much so), and she’s a little too tightly wound up coz of Life™. They keep running into each other, and form an easy friendship that helps balance one another out; for it to ultimately grow into a loving and supportive relationship when they realize they’re the voice in each others’ heads.
Namik Paul/Namita Dubey
Look at them, they’re so tall and beautiful. (Idk Namita’s height, but she LOOKS tall.) And they both have that smart, dignified, well-read vibe about them. She definitely seems well matched with him.
Ideal Show: Something super sweet and heartfelt, where Namik really gets to romance the pants off her with his earnest face and melty eyes. I’m thinking something like John/Vidya’s story in Salaam-E-Ishq/The Vow; they’re an established, happily settled couple, but due to an accident, she loses her memory. He has to work hard to remind her of their deep love for each other.
Kunal Jaisingh/Surbhi Chandna
No need for me to create a graphic; pics already hain!
(gif by @rk-pc)
(gif by @manmarziiyan)
These two have some ridiculous, next level chemistryyyy IRL; esp. for people who were playing bhaabi-devar. I’d really like to see what happens if you put them against each other romantically. I predict fireworks!
Ideal Show: Something with high-intensity hotness and angst and fighting against each other and their emotions. Basically I’m saying that maybe I’d like Silsila 2 a lot more if Mishti was played by SC.
Same sex couples
Shrenu Parikh/Additi Gupta
I really loved their sparring in IB, and wanna see more of it!
Ideal Show: They’re the sisters of a bride and groom (who are childhood sweethearts) and haven’t been able to stand each other for as long as their siblings have been in a relationship. They’re thrown in close quarters during the wedding and there’s pranks, passive-aggressive flirting, mind-games, jealousy, and a few stolen kisses. (Think Arnav/Khushi during the Payal/Akash wedding.)
Surbhi Jyoti/Reyhna Malhotra
Ummmm, two of my dreammmmm girls?!? Yes please!!!!
Ideal Show: Something Killing Eve-esque; where Surbhi’s a cop who’s tracking and tailing this super elusive femme-fatale bumping off some Very Important People, but they quickly grow equally obsessed with each other. Lines are blurred and no one quite knows what the rules of the game are anymore.
Nehalaxmi Iyer/Aneri Vajani
They’re both young and fresh-looking and would be so adorable together!
Ideal Show: Gimme a bubbly college romance between these two, where Aneri’s the popular cool girl, and Neha’s the snarky topper. (Basically Nupur/Mayank from MJHT, but wlw!)
Sakshi Tanwar/Sudha Chandran
Two dignified Queens.
Ideal Show: A mature romance about two middle-class neighbours who find companionship and love with each other.
Namik Paul/Harshad Chopda
Tall puppy + Muscular puppy = Twice the puppy goodness. Gimme it!!!!!!!!
Ideal Show: Something like You’ve Got Mail, but without the animosity of one of them putting the other out of business. Instead, just a buncha instances of missed connections and confusing feelings when online and real life clash (they meet each other in real life and feel a strong connection, but are too loyal/attached to their online paramours.) Namik is the cynical, snarky one, who makes Harshad laugh, and Harshad is soft and Pure™ and makes Namik feel all gooey inside. All-round mushiness and cute!
Barun Sobti/Kunal Jaisingh
Both are sass/snark-masters and we need that to be showcased to the max.
Ideal Show: I want them in something like The Proposal (Barun being the uptight boss, Kunal the cool creative design head or something, whose dept. is extremely overworked and desperately needs an expanded budget that Barun is never willing to sign off on) Shenanigans with Kunal’s large and loud (but very loving and accepting) family, good-natured hilarity, lots of banter!
