IMVU VIP Review and What I Use The Membership For...

IMVU has always had a VIP program since the rise of its virtual world platform hitting an all-new high around 2015-2018 during this time they’ve had people sign up consistently from all over the world and are well known for having credit cards at your local Walmart’s and Target’s worldwide. VIP is IMVU’s subscription service which comes with a few extra perks for those who want a VIP experience in their virtual life on the platform.

Pricing:

This subscription service starts at $9.99 per month so roughly you could round this up to $10. Then in addition to cut a tiny percentage of the money you have to spend per “month” they have quarterly and yearly subscriptions. The Quarterly subscription currently is $25 even for 3 months. The yearly subscription is $75 for the entire year. There is one key difference between the monthly and quarterly and yearly subscriptions and this is that when you do monthly you get 5,000 credits a month no matter what. If you go for one of the other subscriptions the amount of credits you receive goes up by little per month. For example, you get 5,000 credits when starting on your first month then your second month you might get 5,200 credits and so on. It’s a bonus for “IMVU’s appreciation” of staying a VIP member for a specific amount of time.

This I decided to list for the fact that there isn’t much I’d have to go into detail with. Below is a list of the perks that the IMVU VIP program has for its users.

These are all of the perks of becoming a VIP in IMVU as you can see there’s a lot but the question is how many of these perks are you planning to use? and is it worth it for your virtual experience? If you say no to a lot of these then maybe VIP isn’t the right match for you maybe it’s better or cheaper for you in the long run if you purchase a name change token and some credits separately. Or maybe even buy a bundle different types of individuals buy VIP for various reasons. If you’re really into IMVU creating then this is something you will want. Creators will gain the most from the VIP program the other type of person who would benefit the most from this program are interior and exterior room designers. This is because of the chatroom benefit and the organization of your inventory both in avatar mode and room creation mode. This can be helpful! Otherwise, if you don’t fall into these categories the other stuff can be overlooked and you technically don’t need VIP to fully enjoy IMVU and everything it has to offer. 

Why am I a VIP? What do I use it for?

You’re probably wondering why I decided to be a VIP and what I use my membership for. Simply, I fall more into the category of an interior and exterior room designer. This is something that is important in my virtual life and aside from typing up blog posts and possibly going into chat rooms and chatting with people now and then most of my time in IMVU is made decorating rooms and creating spaces for people all over IMVU to enjoy. Since the chatroom value is over $300 for an entire year, this makes it easy for me to decorate rooms and share them almost immediately without having to open up private chats and only inviting people I know. I also use VIP for the organizational tools because, to be honest, I’m OCD and I need some order in my life otherwise it bothers me... A LOT. But VIP makes sense for me to have… in the past, I used to be a creator. I decided it wasn’t for me after the fact and that’s okay making and putting together rooms and avatars with other creations is just as creative as them making the products for us. Yes, we have to buy those items but 5% off in the shop does make a huge difference in everything your buying and allows you to buy 1 or 2 more items more than you probably could without VIP. Depending on who you are this could be the best bang for your buck. If you compare IMVU VIP with let’s say Second Life’s premium membership you get a huge bang for your buck. It’s cheaper and you receive more with the program than in Second Life’s Premium membership plan for roughly around $11 a month (unless it has changed again). Also, you need to look at all of this from the standpoint of are you around enough to use the program you bought? If you’re not around enough I wouldn’t suggest VIP.

Overall, IMVU’s VIP program has a lot to offer specific users who can use a lot of the features that it comes with. I, however, don’t suggest the program to users who are either not creators or interior/exterior room designers who could use the chatroom slots. I feel this program is mainly for those two types of individuals on IMVU. It’s a great program but only for those who can use it and it would be WORTH the money. The 5% off in the shop helps me out a lot as a blogger who always creates new avatars and spaces being able to buy 1-2 items, clothes, rooms, etc. extra per transaction is super nice! Go through the list of the perks above and see if you say yes to a lot of them if you do this might be the right subscription for you to best live your virtual life. If you say no it’s okay not to buy it you can enjoy EVERYTHING IMVU has to offer without VIP and with time you can buy a lot of these perks full price to enjoy forever.
