I take my estrogen sublingually.
It is impossible for me to describe to a cis person what estrogen does for me. I've tried and tried. The existence I had before was not living. Four little tabs a day make me possible.
Some girls are good at continuing on, business as usual, while their tabs dissolve. I am a clumsy little chatterbox and will manage to fuck up my tabs if I keep talking. I refuse to talk while they dissolve.
I treat every tab of estrogen like there might be a shortage. Like they might pull the rug out from under me. My tabs are my connection to the divine, my lifeline, my everything. The idea of wasting them is a persistent anxiety of mine.
And, wouldn't you know it, my silly little brain has decided it would be incredibly hot if a girl tested my resolve while my meds were in.
I pop my tablets in and suddenly there's hands on me. Sliding under my shirt, gripping my thigh. Pushing me up against the wall. Fingers around my neck, teeth on my throat. Brushing her lips against mine.
Lamenting how her girl is too busy to service her. Alleviate the ache that's built up in her.
All I can do is whine and pout. Blush and ache for her. Wanna be good.

i do find it mostly just funny to see people get all prescriptivistically pedantic about usage of different words for toxins in everyday conversation
but there's also some linguistic curiosity of my own, as to how this classification system works
like. if "venomous" means you get the effect by being bitten (like by a snake) does that mean all toxins that take effect through the bloodstream are venom
does execution by lethal injection count as venom? Does it matter whether intravenous, intramuscular or subcutaneous? (those distinctions are actually pretty important when dealing with medical injections because they do influence the effectiveness of the med, so maybe they also get different names when the injection is for killing instead of healing? i wanna know)
if we have different words for "it kills you if injected inside you through your skin" (venom) and "it kills you if you ingest it through your mouth" (poison) I want a whole vocabulary for all administration routes
i want words for toxic
inhalations
suppositories, both rectal and vaginal
topical cream/lotion/ointment/gel (possibly different words for each)
nasal spray
ear drops and eye drops
all the different types of injections, separately
maybe also further categorize the oral route, because you'd be impressed how much difference it makes whether you ingest something in a capsule, tablet, coated delayed-release tablet, liquid suspension or sublingual melt
if you're gonna police people's words about putting deadly stuff in your body, i want your entire legal system in writing. Not because I'm gonna follow the laws. just because I am autistic and this is the sort of thing i study for fun

ok so after struggling to get my hormones in a good place without unwanted side effects for the last year and 4 months! i have FINALLY gotten a really good result from my blood test a few days ago. E was 282 pg/mL, and T was 112 ng/dL, which was taken 4 hours and 15 minutes after my last dose and at around 9:45am. the E couldn’t be more perfect, and while the T is a little on the high side, that should be good enough to continue feminization and also allow me to keep sexual function. i really just don’t know how it could get much better.
my current daily dosages are: 2mg estradiol sublingual tablet every 8 hours (so 6mg in a day), and 100mg progesterone taken at night (unless i’m cycling it off, which i typically do half the month).
if i could go back in time and give myself some advice, it would be:
forget about spironolactone. i don’t need it, it’s a net negative and it makes erections go bye bye.
GO SLOWER. i was obviously being directed by a doctor and they were acting based off of the best information they had available. but for the first 9 months, every time i adjusted my dosage, i have come to believe it was too big of a swing. i started at 2mg E and 50mg sprio a day, which is pretty standard (though a lot of times they will start you on spiro alone to see how you tolerate it, which seems totally backward to me). but i think that was too much of a cold start. and then only 3 months later i doubled that, which i think was also too big of a jump. then i stopped spiro and around 3 months later tried to jump up to 6mg of E taken much more granularly throughout the day. all of these were too sudden of a change and i struggled to adapt as a result.
get Cialis immediately bitch lol
knowing what i know now, i would have probably started on 2mg of E alone and then increased it by 1mg every 3 months, starting progesterone at either 6 or 9 months until i arrived at where i am now.
(i should clarify that this is not meant to be advice for anyone else, my original treatment could have been perfect for others. this is just how i reacted to my experience and what i wish could have been done differently).

I'm researching historic pharmaceuticals for work, and came across the following that may interest my Blue Castle folks:
"Nitroglycerin sublingual tablets are used to treat episodes of angina (chest pain) in people who have coronary artery disease (narrowing of the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart). It is also used just before activities that may cause episodes of angina in order to prevent the angina from occurring. Nitroglycerin is in a class of medications called vasodilators. It works by relaxing the blood vessels so the heart does not need to work as hard and therefore does not need as much oxygen. (https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/meds/a601086.html)"
Valancy takes drops, not tablets, but otherwise this seems pretty spot on. Wikipedia suggests it's been in use since the late 1870s and is still prescribed today, so solidly period plausible.

3/11/24- patiently waiting
thank you arclightbutterfly for inspiring me to start this blog, and for everything, really. two months ago i broke down really bad, and i wasn’t sure i could keep living. i’ve researched diy for about a year, but i never thought i could figure it out. i’m 16, and crypto just seemed impossible to figure out. but it was transition or die. i lost sleep checking every diy provider and r/transdiy. it’s impossible to find support as a minor on there, as they’ll ban you at the mention of being under 18. i guess i get it, i’d really hate for something to happen to it. eventually, i found exactly what i needed- someone mentioned inhouse and how they have a p.o. box available. they take money orders, which you can purchase from a post office using cash and have it mailed over, no id required. i ordered enough estradiol to last me a few months, and had them split my order into two parcels to help with customs, and asked them to waive signature. i placed the order two weeks ago, they received the money last week, and my shipment is on its way now. my new start isn’t so far away, and the wait is harder than anything i’ve done before. but i know that this is the turning point i’ve been waiting for, and i’m beyond grateful for it.
i’m not going to tag this post out of fear of it getting taken down or found by transphobes- something… but eventually, it’ll be buried by updates. this is for everyone who is like me- those who need to see it. diy saves lives. it might be the only reason i haven’t taken mine. hrt is illegal in my state for minors, and my parents don’t really accept my identity anyway… this is my only way out, and i wouldn’t be doing it if i had any other choice.
i’ll be posting again once i receive my shipment. i’ll report on things like physical and social updates, probably some vents. however i decide to do it!! weekly updates, maybe? idk, we’ll see. ordered 2mg estradiol tablets -> sublingual use/monotherapy (because i can’t afford an AA and need a job.) initially i wanted to start on injections- they’re so efficient- but since inhouse is pharmaceutical resale, it’s expensive as hell. but seriously, any E is better than none. okay, that’s all i have to add. signing back as soon as i start!!

when I started hrt, I was so incredibly unsure. every day I was wracked with doubt and anxiety. here was this gaping hole in my chest, which by my measure was only growing, and I expected one little pill every day to fix it somehow. I was doubtful, but when I talked to my trans friend about it, they said the same thing: they weren't sure at first.
they took theirs experimentally at first, just to figure out if it was what they wanted. they told me it was like a fog lifted. I felt very foggy. I decided to try it.
I live in a state where informed consent is the accepted model of treatment. I scheduled an appointment to consult about it, heard out the risks and benefits, and I was sure my doubt had been evident to my doctor. I was also sure it would disqualify me somehow.
she told me to see her again in a month. I booked my next appointment three weeks out.
at that appointment, she simply asked me if I understood the risks, benefits, and overall effects of estrogen. I told her I thought I did. she asked me if I wanted it, and I said the same. I was practically waiting for her to stop me, to tell me I had to be sure.
she wrote me a prescription and I picked it up the same day.
ESTRADIOL 2MG SUBLINGUAL TABLET
I left the pharmacy in disbelief. my pharmacist had usually said the name of my prescription to me when handing it over. she didn't say anything this time.
at home I sat staring at the bottle for a while before opening it. then I finally got out one tablet and placed it under my tongue. looking back, I'm sure I did it wrong. I didn't hold it there as long as I should have, and kept moving it around by accident.
I knew it wouldn't change me overnight, but I still somehow expected it to: to wake up with a different brain, one that could feel everything deeply rather than drifting through each day in a dreamlike state and drifting into dreamless sleep each night. of course this didn't happen. it wouldn't, either.
the next day I felt worse. with each passing day it continued, as my desperation grew for this little tablet to do something, anything to me. I just wanted a *sign*. something to me feel like I wasn't headed for the edge of a cliff anymore.
but I was on 2mg sublingual daily. a weak dose, one that achieves essentially nothing without an antiandrogen. I didn't really know what dosages meant at the time. even so, I was happy to have estrogen in my body.
wait.
*I was happy to have estrogen in my body.*
even without knowing what it was doing, without seeing any of its effects, just by beginning to take them, I had already realized that I wanted to keep going. I wanted to keep putting estrogen in my body, and as soon as I began to understand levels and dosages, I wanted more.
several times I asked my doctor to increase my dose ahead of the recommended schedule, and each time she obliged, remarking that while it could be risky, my mental state was the more important consideration and it was ultimately up to me.
so I kept going up, always just a bit ahead of the curve. soon I was at the maximum safe dose on tablets. soon after, I switched to injections (I'm now on 6mg estradiol valerate per week) and started progesterone. I have never been happier.
there were many stages where I fully expected doctors to refuse to prescribe me, or change my prescription for, estrogen. I expected them to tell me I wasn't ready to make that decision, that I could only know with more therapy, or that I at least had to be able to tell them I wanted it without a hint of doubt in my voice.
but that's only because it's what I kept hearing from everyone else: that it's a decision to take extremely seriously, one with irreversible consequences.
but all it took was one tablet with far too small a dose to be effective, and already I was sure. maybe I always had been.
remember that while nobody chooses which hormone their body produces, they are *always* changing you irreversibly. the question to ask is not "am I really certain I want estrogen?", it's "do I like the idea of this better than staying on testosterone?" and if you still can't answer that but are curious, it's perfectly fine to just try it.
not every place has informed consent, but they should. if they don't, never be afraid to lie to doctors in order to get what you want. remember, the barriers to HRT were not put in place because of genuine medical concern, but because of transphobia. you deserve better, so do whatever you have to to get your hands on it, even just to try it, even if you're not sure. your body probably knows what it wants.
for whoever needs to hear this:
starting HRT doesn't have to be a huge momentous all-or-nothing decision. you can just try it like you would an antidepressant you've been informed of the risks of.
there won't be any immediate irreversible changes overnight. you can always stop, change your dose, change your delivery system, decide it's not the right time. you can even microdose if you want to.
you don't have to tell anyone. you don't have to announce it if you don't want to.
stop waiting for a perfect time in your life because it won't come.
stop waiting to reach a mythical level of certainty that never comes to anyone, for anything.
you've been thinking about it long enough. if you have the opportunity, just give it a shot. you're worth the courage it takes to make a change in your life.

Check your labels just in case. When I worked at a compounding pharmacy (really an apothecary, the compounding was all upstairs) they never used capsules derived from pig gelatin, and they always had vegetarian capsules available as an alternative.
(Unless you already have and that is why you specified headache medicine.)
Now, to address the question of kashrut (I know you didn’t ask, but I couldn’t resist the opportunity to do some research):
To whom does this apply?
There are two types of patient when it comes to medicine and Jewish law. The first is a cholei im sacanat mavet: someone who is sick and in danger of death. In this scenario, the principle of pikuach nefesh—saving a life comes before everything else—takes precedent and the question of the kashrut of medicine becomes irrelevant.
The second type of patient is a cholei bli sacanat mavet—someone who is sick without the danger of death. Although there are plenty of situations in which what it means for a life to be in danger is stretched in Jewish law, this is not one of them. I assume this is your category, at least with regard to your headache medicine (I hope it works well, headaches suck).
To what does kashrut apply?
Kashrut is supposed to be for food. If your kid finds a stick on the ground and bites it, it doesn’t matter if the stick is kosher because it’s not food. If a fly falls into your drink and you take it out, that’s fine because flies (in the context of falling into your drink) aren’t food.
More specifically, things that are meant to be tasted count as ‘food’ for the purpose of kashrut. This means that most pills don’t have to be kosher. Only those that are supposed to be chewed or dissolve in the mouth (i.e. tasted). For example, sublingual Vitamin D2 should be kosher. Chewable calcium tablets, which can be made from shellfish, should be kosher.
TL;dr if you don’t taste your pills, they don’t have to be kosher.
———————————
BTW: Whenever I say anything like “should,” or “have to,” I mean according to halacha. I don’t personally care about the kashrut of medicine (or keeping kosher outside of my house, really) I just find Jewish law fascinating. I also don’t EVER want to tell people how to practice.

Tadalista Professional and Your Relationship: How It Can Reignite Intimacy
Tumblr media
Intimacy plays a vital role in maintaining a strong, healthy relationship. When issues like erectile dysfunction (ED) surface, they can create emotional distance between partners, leading to frustration, misunderstanding, and even resentment. Fortunately, modern medicine offers effective solutions like Tadalista Professional, a powerful ED treatment that not only helps restore physical performance but also reignites emotional connection and intimacy between partners.
Understanding Erectile Dysfunction (ED)
Erectile dysfunction is a common condition where a man struggles to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, anxiety, aging, diabetes, cardiovascular issues, or low testosterone levels. Studies show that ED affects millions of men worldwide, and often, it’s not just a physical concern—it impacts mental health and relationships too.
Men dealing with ED may withdraw emotionally or avoid intimacy altogether, fearing embarrassment or disappointment. Partners, on the other hand, may misinterpret this as a lack of interest or affection. The resulting disconnect can damage even the strongest relationships.
Intimacy in Relationships
Intimacy isn't only about physical closeness—it involves trust, emotional bonding, and open communication. ED can strain these elements, leaving both partners feeling isolated. Rebuilding that intimacy requires more than just physical solutions; it requires understanding, patience, and often, a push to regain confidence.
That’s where Tadalista Professional comes in—not just as a medication, but as a catalyst for rekindling connection.
What is Tadalista Professional?
Tadalista Professional is an advanced formulation of Tadalafil , a well-known PDE5 inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction. Unlike standard ED pills, it comes in a sublingual tablet form, which dissolves under the tongue for faster absorption. This means it starts working quicker than many traditional ED medications—usually within 15 to 30 minutes.
It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, helping men achieve and maintain a firm erection during sexual stimulation. Its effects can last up to 36 hours, allowing for more spontaneous and relaxed intimacy.
Benefits of Tadalista Professional
The primary benefit is, of course, improved erectile function. But the advantages go beyond that:
Restored Confidence: Men often feel more confident knowing they can perform when the moment arises.
Reduced Performance Anxiety: The fast-acting and long-lasting nature of the drug reduces the pressure of “timing it right.”
Improved Partner Satisfaction: With consistent performance comes more satisfying sexual experiences, benefiting both partners.
Reigniting Emotional Closeness: Successful intimacy can foster trust, improve mood, and strengthen the emotional bond between couples.
How It Changes Relationship Dynamics
When ED is addressed, it opens the door for improved communication. Couples feel more comfortable discussing their desires, fears, and expectations. This kind of openness can lead to a deeper connection, not just in the bedroom but in everyday interactions as well.
Men often report feeling “like themselves again,” and partners appreciate the renewed sense of affection and engagement. In essence, Tadalista Professional doesn’t just treat a symptom—it helps restore the foundation of intimacy.
Real-Life Experiences
Many couples have shared how Tadalista Professional helped transform their relationships. One user in his 50s noted, “It gave me back the confidence I’d lost. My wife and I feel like we’re dating again.” Another couple shared that after months of emotional distance due to ED, the renewed physical connection brought them closer emotionally as well.
While every experience is unique, these stories highlight the potential for ED treatment to positively affect more than just sex—it can revive emotional health too.
Tips for Safe and Effective Use
Consult a Doctor: Always talk to a healthcare provider before starting Tadalista Professional, especially if you have underlying medical conditions or take other medications.
Start Slow: Begin with a recommended dosage and adjust only under medical supervision.
Focus on Communication: Talk with your partner about your experience, expectations, and any concerns. Openness can significantly improve outcomes.
Maintaining Intimacy Long-Term
While Tadalista Professional is a helpful tool, long-term intimacy requires ongoing effort. Here are a few strategies:
Healthy Lifestyle: Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and stress management all contribute to better sexual health.
Mental Wellness: Counseling or therapy can help address performance anxiety, body image issues, or relationship stress.
Routine Intimacy: Make time for affection, date nights, and non-sexual forms of closeness to strengthen your emotional bond.
Conclusion
Erectile dysfunction can create a significant barrier in relationships, but it doesn’t have to be permanent. Tadalista Professional offers an effective solution to overcome ED and helps couples rediscover passion and connection. By addressing the physical challenges and fostering emotional closeness, it empowers couples to reignite the spark that may have faded over time.
If you or your partner are struggling with intimacy due to ED, consider speaking to a medical professional about whether Tadalista Professional might be the right choice for you.
