I’m planning a visit to Switzerland this year, but the only downside for a royalist like me is that there is no monarchy😄 As a student I will have to keep a tight budget, and I live half the world away from Europe so travel costs will be high getting there, which means I don’t think trips to Belgium or the Netherlands will be feasible (or the UK, but that requires a separate visa anyway so it’s out for me). So then I thought about Liechtenstein!! Very close to Zürich, on the Swiss transport and currency system so all good, but the only problem is that I can’t find out much about the royal family there itself. The castle in the capital is their private family home, so not open to the public (though you can walk up to see near the outside), and I couldn’t find any details on public appearances, and apparently they’re quite private, so not much is known about them in general. Do you (or anyone on here) know more about their public roles? Do they have engagements, or annual functions (something in the vein of Trooping) that I can make a point of seeing? I know the country is tiny, but surely they have some sort of public-facing role as the royal family? Any sort of insight/advice is appreciated!!
Ooh that sounds exciting. I'm not very sure about Liechtenstein like all the specifics you can do but I don't think there would be a ton to do if you are planning to a longer trip however since you are thinking about Switzerland, there are planned day trips to Vaduz and the nearby areas from Zurich, more information should be available on them online. Also while you can't visit the castle but you can have trips around the castle and of Vaduz. Ooooh and every year the Royal Family has a garden party for the public at Vaduz Castle, on their National Day. That's attended by all the royals. You can look for dates to visit coinciding with that if you want to attend it. It's on August 15. Unfortunately that's where my knowledge of Royal events at Liechtenstein ends however if someone else knows better, maybe they can elaborate.

Benefits of Paid Education in Switzerland
Tumblr media
Unilife abroad career solutions

Switzerland has become a popular study destination amongst international students globally. With the border connection of Germany, Italy and France, the country offers diverse cultural learnings that benefit international students academically and professionally. High job opportunities, flexible learning and elevated academic investments are top magnets that compel the attention of international students.

Switzerland has top universities
Switzerland has some of the most highly regarded universities in the world. The country's top two institutions, EPFL and ETH Zurich, consistently rank inside the top 40 of the QS World ranking universities , with the latter holding a firm place in the top 10.
In the 2024 rankings, Switzerland had a total of six universities in the top 150, which is highly impressive for a country with a smaller population than London.
Tuition fees are low
Tuition fees in Switzerland are some of the cheapest in Europe. Many of the country's public universities charge less than CHF 1,500 per academic year to all students. Of course, the cost differs between universities – with private institutions often charging more – so it is worth checking each one individually.
Additionally, there will be other costs associated with studying. These can include charges for applications and entrance examinations. In general, though, your budget will not be dented too much more by this. As such, you may well be able to save your money to spend on going out, having fun and exploring the country.
There is a lot to see in the country and nearby

Switzerland is home to stunning natural wonders, from the mountainous Alps to the spectacular Lake Geneva by their side. You will never get tired of exploring these places, which offer endless opportunities to experience the country at its most serene, as well as its most dramatic.
The country is also bordered by France, Germany and Italy. As a byproduct of this, it has four different national languages, and is a hugely diverse place to live. International students are welcome, and in a great position to learn a brand new language – or maybe even a few.

Switzerland offers great career opportunities

Switzerland has one of the highest average salaries in Europe, and some huge companies have offices in the country. So, studying there can lead to some extremely promising and prestigious career opportunities.
Although it can be difficult for non-EU students to get a visa to stay in the country after graduation, it may soon become easier. Lawmakers recently voted in favour of relaxing restrictions on students in this category. If plans are approved, it could become considerably more straightforward for them to work in the country for longer than the six months to which they are currently entitled.
The quality of life is high
Swiss cities are continually ranked among the best in the world for living standards. Although they can be expensive, wages are high and the crime rate is low – making the likes of Geneva, Zurich and Basel some of the happiest places in Europe.
Switzerland also has a brilliant transport infrastructure, making it easy to travel around and get to know your surroundings. Plus, thanks to its abundance of picturesque countryside, even the journeys themselves will be memorable.
Those who love the outdoors will love living in Switzerland. With so many green areas, from the lakes to the Alps, you will never run out of places to visit.

How to Choose the Best Country for Your Study Abroad Experience
When it comes to studying abroad, many students find themselves facing a whirlwind of questions and uncertainties. Which country will offer the best academic opportunities for my field? Can I afford the cost of living and tuition fees? How easy will it be to adjust to a new culture and language? With so many study destinations available worldwide, choosing the best country for your study abroad experience can feel overwhelming.
In this guide, we’ll address these common questions and help you navigate the factors that will shape one of the most important decisions of your educational journey. From academic goals and cultural fit to visa policies and quality of life, here’s how to ensure your study abroad choice is tailored to your ambitions, budget, and lifestyle.
Identify Your Academic Goals
Each country offers distinct academic strengths, and identifying your goals can narrow down your choices. For example, if you’re interested in engineering, countries like Germany and the United States are known for their strong technical programs. If you’re leaning toward the arts or humanities, Italy and the United Kingdom boast world-renowned institutions in these fields. Research countries that excel in your area of study to find the best fit for your academic and career aspirations.
Consider Language and Cultural Fit
Studying in a foreign country often means embracing a new language and culture. Decide if you’re open to learning a new language or if you prefer an English-speaking country. Countries like the UK, Canada, Australia, and the United States offer a wide range of programs in English, while many European and Asian countries also offer English-taught courses for international students. Consider how comfortable you are with the local culture as well, as this can affect how easily you adjust to your new surroundings.
Evaluate Financial Aspects
Studying abroad comes with costs that vary widely depending on the country. Countries like Germany and Norway offer low or no tuition fees for certain programs, while others, such as the United States and Australia, tend to be on the more expensive side. Look into scholarships, work opportunities, and living expenses in each country to understand what fits your budget. Some countries also allow students to work part-time, which can help offset costs while gaining valuable work experience.
Research the Quality of Life
Living in a new country is about more than just academics. Research factors like healthcare, safety, and student services. European countries like Switzerland and the Netherlands are known for their high quality of life, while countries like Canada and New Zealand consistently rank highly for safety and inclusivity. Consider whether you prefer a bustling city life or a more laid-back environment, and think about the climate and lifestyle that will make your study abroad experience enjoyable and comfortable.
Check Visa and Post-Study Work Opportunities
If you’re interested in working in the country after graduation, look into visa policies and post-study work options. Countries like Canada, the UK, and Australia offer post-graduation work visas that allow students to gain professional experience. Being aware of the country’s visa policies will help you make plans for your future and assess if the country aligns with your career goals.
Explore Cultural and Travel Opportunities
One of the perks of studying abroad is the opportunity to travel and experience new cultures. European countries like France, Spain, and Italy allow easy access to other countries within the region, offering weekend getaways and a variety of cultural experiences. In Asia, countries like Japan, South Korea, and Singapore boast rich histories and vibrant cultural scenes. Choose a country that aligns with your travel interests, whether you’re looking for historical sites, natural beauty, or a vibrant urban lifestyle.
Connect with Current and Past Students
One of the best ways to get a realistic view of studying in a particular country is to connect with current or former students. Many universities have international student forums, and social media platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook are great for reaching out to students who have studied abroad. Ask about their experiences, what they loved about the country, and any challenges they faced.
Choosing the best country for your study abroad experience requires research, planning, and self-reflection. With guidance from Study Abroad Consultants in Kochi, Kerala, and by considering your academic goals, budget, cultural fit, quality of life, visa policies, travel opportunities, and real-life insights from current students, you’ll be well-equipped to make the decision that’s right for you.

Protection Against Violent Crime: Canada ranks #2 globally in protection from violent crime, reassuring visitors and potential immigrants about its low crime rates and secure environment.
Wildlife and Road Safety: With vast landscapes and diverse wildlife, road safety is critical in Canada. The report advises travelers to exercise caution on highways, particularly in rural areas where encounters with wildlife such as bears, moose, and deer are common. These wildlife precautions highlight the importance of safe travel habits in Canada’s natural surroundings.
Canada Immigration: A Safe and Secure Destination
Canada’s ranking as one of the safest countries globally supports its reputation as a desirable destination for immigrants. Each year, people choose Canada immigration to pursue studies, career advancement, and quality of life improvements.
If you’re considering immigration to Canada through study, work, or residency programs, consulting with a Canadian immigration consultant can simplify the process. Reputable immigration consultants offer guidance on visa applications, eligibility assessments, and pathways for skilled workers, students, and entrepreneurs.
2024 vs. 2025 Safety Rankings: Canada Remains a Safe Choice
While Canada held the top spot for safety in 2024, it continues to maintain a strong position in 2025 as the third safest country globally. BHTP’s report shows that Canada consistently ranks high on the list of safest countries, making it a secure choice for those looking to study abroad or migrate through Canadian immigration pathways.
The report noted that travelers widely regard Canada, Northern Europe, Australia, and New Zealand as some of the world’s safest spaces. This consistent ranking underscores Canada's commitment to providing a secure environment for residents, travelers, and immigrants alike.
How to Visit Canada: Visa and Entry Requirements
For most international travelers, visiting Canada requires either a visitor visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTA). Here’s a quick breakdown:
eTA: Citizens of visa-exempt countries need an electronic travel authorization before flying to Canada. U.S. citizens and green card holders, as well as residents of St. Pierre and Miquelon who are French nationals, are exempt from needing an eTA.
Visitor Visa: Individuals from non-visa-exempt countries need to obtain a visitor visa prior to their arrival.
Regardless of your documentation, travelers must also meet Canada's admissibility requirements, which means individuals with certain criminal backgrounds may face restrictions.
Benefits of Consulting with a Canada Immigration Consultant
For those considering permanent residency or studying abroad, working with a Canada immigration consultant can streamline the process. Immigration consultants help with visa consultancy services, application forms, and any necessary supporting documentation. This is especially helpful for students, skilled workers, and individuals exploring Canadian residency options through Wave visas and other visa consultancy services.
Why Canada Remains a Top Destination for Study and Immigration
Canada is more than a travel destination; it’s a country known for high-quality education, stable job markets, and diverse communities. Here are some reasons why so many people choose Canada immigration for study and work opportunities:
World-Class Education: Canada has a robust education system, with several universities ranking among the world’s best, making it a top choice for those looking to study abroad.

How to Make the Most of Your Visit to Canada
For those planning a short stay or scouting the country before settling, Canada offers numerous travel experiences, from bustling urban centers like Toronto and Vancouver to breathtaking natural parks in the Rockies and coastlines in Atlantic Canada. Remember to take safety precautions, especially when exploring Canada’s natural beauty.

Why Choose Switzerland?
Switzerland is home to some of the best universities in the world, particularly in fields like business, hospitality, finance, and engineering. The country is known for its bilingual education system, where students can choose between German, French, or English as the medium of instruction. This offers Indian students a chance to immerse themselves in different languages and cultures.
Top Universities: The ETH Zurich and École hôtelière de Lausanne are just two of the leading institutions in Switzerland, known globally for their strong academic programs and research opportunities. The University of St. Gallen is another highly regarded institution, particularly for business studies.
Specialized Programs: Switzerland is renowned for its hospitality and tourism management programs, making it the ideal destination for students pursuing careers in hospitality. Additionally, Swiss institutions offer innovative courses in finance, economics, computer science, and environmental sustainability.
Post-Graduation Opportunities: Switzerland has a high demand for skilled professionals, particularly in technology, pharmaceuticals, and engineering. Indian students can benefit from excellent opportunities to work in Swiss companies or use Switzerland as a gateway to the European job market.
Visa Requirements and Scholarships
Student Visa: Indian students wishing to study in Switzerland need to apply for a student visa. The visa application process is relatively straightforward, but students must provide proof of admission to a recognized Swiss university, proof of sufficient financial resources to cover tuition fees and living expenses, and a valid passport.
Scholarships: Switzerland offers various scholarships for international students, including the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship, which is open to students from India and other countries. Additionally, many Swiss universities offer partial or full scholarships based on academic performance.
Cost of Living and Tuition Fees
Switzerland is an expensive country to live in, but its high salaries and quality of life balance out the costs. The average cost of living in cities like Zurich and Geneva ranges between CHF 1,500 and CHF 2,000 per month, which includes rent, food, transport, and other personal expenses.
Tuition Fees: Depending on the program and university, tuition fees for Indian students range from CHF 1,000 to CHF 10,000 per year. While this is on the higher end compared to other European countries, Switzerland’s excellent education system makes it a worthwhile investment for the long term.

ODM Hosts East India's Largest Career Fair; Connects Students With 66 Global Universities
Bhubaneswar, Odisha — The world is coming together in the era of global connectivity that is shaping the future of education. Keeping the necessity of exposure as the core motive, ODM Educational Group has taken a pioneering step as it organised East India’s largest University Career Fair at ODM Public School in Bhubaneswar.
The fair, a cornerstone of ODM's ambitious College Connect Program, brought together an impressive array of 66 universities from seven countries, creating a bridge for students to acquire educational opportunities. As students from across Odisha and neighbouring states flooded the venue, the air was thick with anticipation and the promise of new pathways to pursue diverse careers of student’s choice.
Tumblr media
Dr. SatyabrataMinaketan, the visionary Chairman of ODM Educational Group, surveyed the bustling fair. "This isn't just a career fair; it’s our student's gateway to the world," he said. The chairman added, “Our goal is to equip our students with the knowledge and resources necessary to make well-informed decisions about their academic and professional futures."
Stalls adorned with flags and banners from India, France, the United States, Canada, Italy, Australia, and Switzerland created a colourful amalgam of educational diversity. Representatives from prestigious institutions like Bocconi University in Italy and Colorado State University in the USA mingled with their counterparts from Indian powerhouse universities such as Ashoka University and OP Jindal Global University.
Amidst the sea of eager faces, students clutched brochures from various universities. Elina Shah, a student of ODM Global School, gushed, "I never imagined I'd have the world at my fingertips like this. Talking to these university representatives and counsellors has surged my view about the vast range of career options in the best way possible!"
The fair wasn't just about glossy brochures and impressive statistics. It was a diligently curated event designed to address the needs of today's students who think globally. Panel discussions on topics ranging from the impact of artificial intelligence on future job markets to the growing importance of interdisciplinary studies captivated the audience.
Harriet Coutinho Representing the University of Connecticut -USA struck a chord with many when she spoke about the changing face of education.  She emphasised, ‘Education is not an isolated matter anymore. Neither should schools, colleges or universities. Thus, this is an amazing collaborative measure to prepare students for career and a lifetime of adaptation and learning."
ODM's innovative approach extended beyond the fair itself. The integration of BridgeU, a cutting-edge university and career guidance platform, showcased the group's commitment to supporting students in selecting the right university, whether in India or abroad. This platform streamlines the college application process, providing students with comprehensive tools and resources.
However, the most striking aspect of the fair was the human touch. ODM's foresight in stationing trained global Career Counselors across its campuses in Angul, Durgapur, Ranchi, Gurgram, and Bhubaneswar was evident in the personalised guidance offered to the students at every turn. The insights into global education trends and local contexts helped the students align their aspirations with realistic pathways.
Workshops on application procedures saw students furiously taking notes, while mock interview sessions had them straightening their backs and practising ideal gestures for interview sessions. The fair also addressed the practical concerns of studying abroad. Representatives fielded questions about visa processes, while university admission advisors discussed scholarship opportunities and funding options.
SwoyanSatyendu, COO of ODM Educational Group, observed the scene with satisfaction and shared his vision for the future.  He said, "In a world where borders are increasingly blurred, initiatives like this fair are not just valuable but vital. These career fairs serve as bridges, connecting local talent with global opportunities, and in doing so, they reshape the future of education."
The successful organisation of the University Career Fair by ODM Educational Group has helped the students carve a pathway for their ambitions. It had done more than just connect students with universities; it had expanded horizons, challenged preconceptions, and ignited a passion for global learning.
