OC: Faedril “Fae” Silvarin (he/him)

Some lore under the cut

So obviously Fae got some new armor. How did this happen, you ask?

So first off, the sword: He picked it up off a Drow assassin, it’s a poison rapier. I made its design a lot more simple than his initial rapier bc I’m lazy lol

Story-wise, the new armor comes from a Skinweaver Fae and his party found in the under dark skinning some Hook-Horrors. Though this Skinweaver (who I’ll be calling Tanner from here on out) is more of an artisan than a tradesman, they did agree to offload some of their finished work onto Fae in exchange for finishing off the last two Hook-Horrors that were evading them. The party successfully did so, and Fae ended up in possession of Hook-Horror Leather Armor studded with Hook-Horror Carapace.

Now those who know Fae know he’s scared of bugs. How did he get over that to talk to Tanner? Answer: he did not. He was fully prepared to not even speak a WORD to Tanner, but then as they passed each other in a cave passage, Tanner complimented his outfit and Fae, who is nothing if not easily flattered, decided that his fear was worth conquering if it meant a hot new set of armor. It was worth it.

Design-wise, I think Level 5 Fae has lost a lot of the subtlety of his earlier design, but I’m ok with that for now. I think the kind of art I do of him in this armor will be different from how I draw him in his old creaky leather, or his casual outfits. I’m probably not going to fully abandon the creaky leather design either cuz it’s pretty classic and I’m very proud of that design so it’ll really depend on what scenarios I’m drawing him in!
