Secrets of prominent luminous paint uncovered on 30th anniversary of its discovery
A researcher in NDSU's Center for Computationally Assisted Science and Technology and the Department of Physics has uncovered what makes a prominent paint glow in the dark for hours. The findings are reported in a paper titled "Defects and persistent luminescence in Eu-doped SrAl2O4," published in the journal Physical Review Applied.
"The story really began on March 12, 1993, when researchers with Nemoto and Co. Ltd. in Japan successfully developed a new material that re-emits extremely bright green light over many hours in the dark," said Khang Hoang, the author of the paper. "Their discovery gave birth to an exciting and rapidly growing era of scientific research on persistent luminescence—a physical phenomenon in which a material re-emits light over a long period of time after the light source has been switched off."
The material is strontium aluminate with small amounts of rare-earth elements europium and dysprosium, which act as defects (atomic-scale imperfections) in the otherwise perfect crystal. The phosphor has been used as pigments in luminous paints and coatings for various applications. It is the material that makes the hands, dials and markers of a watch glow in the dark and is marketed under the brand names LumiNova, Super-LumiNova and LumiBrite, among others.

Obat Gigi Sensitif

My UGREEN Multifunctional Card Reader USB 3.0 Review (w/ my paper dolls) - Part 2 (Final) [Feb 17th, 2023]
Hello, here's the Final Part (Part 2) of my UGREEN Multifunctional Card Reader USB 3.0 review (featuring my Paper Dolls). 😊 📂➡️🖥️/💻/📱
If you haven't seen my Part 1, then please [CLICK ME!].
So, without further ado, let's continue!
My recorded video #2 [Edited] 🎦📝: (pls watch)
• So, what about an OTG? Will it work with my Card Reader combined with the OTG USB for my phone? Let's find out, as I insert my old & functional Strontium 64GB TF card & another SD card, this time for the actual counterpart (and not the adapter one) onto my Card Reader before I combined the OTG & plugged it into my Honor 8C smartphone. 📂📲
BTW: That Micro USB OTG device was came from the other item. I wish I could share, but, I'll keep that as my private. 🤫
• Nonetheless, my Card Reader works on my OTG phone! (like a charm) As you could see, it reads two memory cards on my "File Manager" app, much like on the PC. So, let's copy the videos that I've recorded moments ago by browsing my 256GB TF card & duplicate them onto my OTG Card Reader's SD Card (the blue Transcend brand). For a total of 456.49 MB size (for two recorded videos), this will take a minute & a half seconds (1 minute & 38 seconds, with 13 milliseconds to be precise). That's fast! 😁 Now, let's go back to my PC, shall we?
• Alright, time to plug my Card Reader onto my PC, once again & move my two recorded videos onto that "Video" folder in a blaze speed transfer! Even ejecting the SD cards was very quick & blinked in a second before I unplug it safely thanks to the USB 3.0 they chose for this card reader. But, what if I plug the USB 3.0? Good thing, my nylon braided extension cable was already attached! Which, by the way, is the same brand as my card reader! 😁 the result was a very outstanding speed rate by copying random videos from my Strontium 64GB TF Card! 📂➡️🖥️ I even try to copy all snapshot files through my external HD with both USB 3.0 plugged in, and it took me 3 minutes to complete compared to 4 minutes with USB 2.0 to 3.0's speed rate. 🙂 I would say, pretty much quite the same result depending on many sizes I want to copy using my Card Reader plugging the USB 3.0 port. ⏱️
16th to 19th Image(s) & Overall: ↑
• I enjoyed & happy to own this cool UGREEN USB Card Reader! 😊 Because transferring my memorable files are important for my computer tasks, and without this, I wouldn't transfer them onto my bigger storage to make room for my SD/Micro SD Cards or transfer it from my phone & vice versa. 📂➡️🖥️ And my paper dolls are ready to appear more moments via snapshot before I copy it 🖼️📲😊, and not eating my physical memory cards. (So again, don't ever do it! lol) 😅 And without USB 3.0 built-in on my Card Reader, I wouldn't have the blazing transfer speed performance, in case I'm in the situation (very rarely, in my opinion).
Asking Price:
• I ordered this Card Reader from... You guessed it, Lazada PH 🛒🌐🇵🇭 for ₱ 233 & discounted to ₱ 167.75 on April 6th, 2021. Pretty huge discount back then. 😁🏷️💵 As of this writing (2023), it is now ₱ 323 [CLICK ME!] & it is still available to purchase (whether from Lazada, Shopee, Aliexpress, Amazon, etc...). 🙂
Well, that's the end of my topic!
If you haven't seen my previous topic, then I'll provide some links down below. ↓😉

Manufacturers add metals during production for product whitening, antimicrobial purposes, odor reduction, lubrication, and as pigments in applicators.
Lead, arsenic, barium, calcium, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, iron, manganese, mercury, nickel, lead, selenium, strontium, vanadium, and zinc were found in EVERY tampon brand throughout the US, UK and EU.
Vaginally absorbed chemicals do not undergo first-pass metabolism and detoxification via the liver and directly enter systemic circulation.
Heavy metals (like lead, arsenic, cadmium) have been found to increase the risk of dementia, infertility, diabetes, and cancer. They can damage the liver, kidneys, and brain, as well as the cardiovascular, nervous, and endocrine systems.
Because who cares about toxic shock syndrome when you can have coloured and sweet scented pretty looking tampons!
Please ensure your menstrual products do not contain persistent organic pollutants (POPs), most commonly Dioxins. Not only do they take ages to break down in the environment, they're highly toxic and can cause cancer, reproductive and developmental problems, damage to the immune system, and can interfere with hormones. Dioxins can form when bleach is used on pulp and paper products that go into pads and tampons.
Buy organic, unscented, pigment free period products. Some may even find biodegradable ones.
Manufacturers don't care. Healthcare does not in fact, care. Spread the word. Protect yourself, protect fellow women.
i personally have only very rarely ever used tampons due to personal preference but I remember how friends used to tell me about how they felt it was making their cramps and overall period worse and i heard women talk about starting to use reusable cloth-pads and other alternatives and how much better it got for them - how their flow got weaker, their overall period got shorter and the pain was less
this is literally insane

I went and found the paper just to see what they found a little more than CBS' paywall would let me see.
"For this study, we chose a variety of disposable tampon products, representing multiple manufacturers, brands, product lines, and absorbencies. We tested a total of 24 unique brand-product line-absorbency combinations (hereafter called “products”), representing 14 brands, 18 product lines, and five absorbencies [...]. We generally selected products that were listed as top sellers on a major online retailer, as well as “store-brand” products (products with the brand name of the store where purchased or made specifically for that store) from several large chain retailers in the US. We also generally selected products with greater absorbencies to ensure there was enough material for multiple tests. We purchased tampons between September 2022 and March 2023 from brick-and-mortar stores in the US (New York City), the European Union (EU: Athens, Greece), and the United Kingdom (UK: London, England), and from two major online retailers. Tampons purchased in the EU and UK were not the same products as purchased in the US, although there was overlap for one brand [...]. Within the 24 unique products, we tested 60 tampon subsamples (hereafter called “samples”) representing 30 individual tampons (duplicate samples were prepared from each tampon)"
The paper just identifies the brands as "brand A" "brand B" and so on, so odds are it's the brand you're thinking of.
And then the summary the University of Berkeley gives says:
Researchers evaluated levels of 16 metals (arsenic, barium, calcium, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, iron, manganese, mercury, nickel, lead, selenium, strontium, vanadium, and zinc) in 30 tampons from 14 different brands. The metal concentrations varied by where the tampons were purchased (US vs. EU/UK), organic vs. non-organic, and store- vs. name-brand. However, they found that metals were present in all types of tampons; no category had consistently lower concentrations of all or most metals. Lead concentrations were higher in non-organic tampons but arsenic was higher in organic tampons.
For the moment, it’s unclear if the metals detected by this study are contributing to any negative health effects. Future research will test how much of these metals can leach out of the tampons and be absorbed by the body; as well as measuring the presence of other chemicals in tampons
edit: it was my computer being silly. the CBS article isn't paywalled but I'm still glad I went and read the paper!
OH FFS WHAT NOW!!!
...This isn't something I need to worry about any more, but I pass it on here for the attention of those who use these...
#I was gunna put that all in the tags#and then decided fuck it#here's your little report plus links#bts has a great tage that I'm gunna steal here#do your own research#but mostly this was inspired by being pissed that CBS puts up a paywall right after the hook paragraphs#so all the drama zero the info for me from CBS#PSA

The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Best Toothpaste for Sensitive Teeth and Gums
The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Best Toothpaste for Sensitive Teeth and Gums
If you've ever winced while sipping a hot drink or biting into something cold, you know the struggle of having sensitive teeth. This common dental issue can be frustrating, especially when it affects your daily routine. But did you know that the right toothpaste can make a significant difference? In this guide, we'll explore the best options for managing sensitive teeth and gums, helping you find the perfect match for your needs.
Understanding Tooth Sensitivity
Tooth sensitivity occurs when the enamel, the outer protective layer of your teeth, wears down, exposing the dentin underneath. This layer contains tiny tubules that lead to the nerves, causing pain when exposed to hot, cold, sweet, or acidic substances. Receding gums can also contribute to sensitivity, as they expose the roots of the teeth, which lack enamel protection.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Toothpaste
When selecting a toothpaste for sensitive teeth, it's essential to consider the following factors:
Desensitizing Agents: Look for ingredients like potassium nitrate or strontium chloride, which help block the pathways to the nerves, reducing sensitivity over time.
Fluoride Content: Fluoride is crucial for strengthening enamel and preventing decay. However, if you're looking for the best toothpaste for sensitive teeth without fluoride, ensure that it still offers other protective agents.
Gentle Abrasives: A toothpaste with mild abrasives is essential to avoid further wearing down the enamel.
Whitening Capabilities: If you want to brighten your smile without aggravating sensitivity, choose a toothpaste that whitens effectively while being gentle on your teeth.
Best Toothpaste for Sensitive Teeth in India
India offers a variety of toothpastes specifically formulated for sensitive teeth. Brands like Sensodyne, Colgate, and Himalaya have tailored their products to meet the needs of those suffering from sensitivity. These toothpastes often contain potassium nitrate and fluoride to provide relief and strengthen enamel.
When searching for the best toothpaste for sensitive teeth in India, it’s crucial to pick one that fits your specific needs, whether it’s for daily use or targeted treatment.
Addressing Multiple Concerns
If you’re dealing with additional dental issues, such as bad breath or receding gums, there are toothpastes designed to address these alongside sensitivity. For example, the best toothpaste for sensitive teeth and bad breath combines breath-freshening ingredients like zinc with desensitizing agents to provide comprehensive care.
Similarly, those with gum issues might opt for the best toothpaste for sensitive teeth and receding gums. These formulations typically include ingredients that promote gum health while offering relief from sensitivity.
Community Recommendations
Online communities like Quora and Reddit are great places to find recommendations from real users. When looking for the best toothpaste for sensitive teeth quora and best toothpaste for sensitive teeth reddit discussions can provide valuable insights. Many users share their personal experiences, which can guide you towards the right product.
Whitening and Sensitivity
Whitening toothpastes can be harsh on sensitive teeth, but some formulations are designed to be gentle. The best toothpaste for teeth whitening effectively strikes a balance between removing stains and protecting your enamel. These toothpastes typically contain low-abrasion ingredients and desensitizing agents to ensure that you can achieve a brighter smile without discomfort.
Conclusion: Finding Your Perfect Match
Tooth sensitivity doesn’t have to control your life. By choosing the right toothpaste, you can alleviate pain and enjoy your favorite foods and drinks without worry. Whether you're looking for the best toothpaste for sensitive teeth pain or a product that caters to multiple dental issues, there's an option out there for you.
Remember, it’s essential to consult with your dentist before making significant changes to your oral care routine. They can recommend the best toothpaste based on your individual needs and help you maintain a healthy, pain-free smile.
Start your journey to better dental health today by selecting the right toothpaste for your sensitive teeth and gums!

NEW STUDY: ALL TESTED TAMPONS HAVE DANGEROUS CHEMICALS!
A new large-scale study of 14 brands of tampons found toxic metals like lead and arsenic were present in all of the products tested.
The study by Berkley Public Health looked at 16 metals and metalloids with known toxicity, and found measurable levels of 12 of them across the tampon samples. In addition to lead and arsenic, the metals found included cadmium, nickel, zinc, barium, copper, iron, strontium, and vanadium.
The concentrations of the metals varied greatly among the samples tested, with few discernable patterns. Organic tampons had lower levels of lead overall, but had higher levels of arsenic.

Ok I have given the actual study a read, and here are some points I think are important and/or interesting. Note that I am no scientist, but I did study science and science education for a bit before concluding it wasn't for me, and I have remained a science nerd.
- This is a pilot study. A pilot study is a study with a small sample size, whose purpouse is to refine methods and to prove that there is a reason to do a bigger study on the subject.
- The study was made to see if there are significant levels of certain metals in tampons. They did not look into if these metals are actually leaking from the tampons and/or actually absorbed by the vagina. The reason for this is because this is a pilot study, and now they are calling for a bigger study to be made to test these things.
- The tampons used in the study came mostly from the USA, with 3 of them being from the EU/UK. There were a total of 18 different product lines from 14 different brands used.
- They tested for the precense of 16 different metals, arsenic, barium, calcium, cadmium, cobalt, chromium, copper, iron, manganese, mercury, nickel, lead, selenium, strontium, vanadium, and zinc. Some of these, like arsenic, lead, and cadmium, are toxic.
- In the summary, the tampons were split into a few different groups, namely organic vs non-organic, generic vs brand name, and US vs EU/UK. There was differences in metal distribution between the groups(for example, non-organic tampons were higher in lead but organic ones were higher in arsinic). However no group was consistently lower in all metals looked for.
- The study calls out that lead was found in every single tampon. There is no safe exposure levels to lead.
- They found no difference between tampons that had a plastic aplicator or a cardboard aplicator/no aplicator.
- They discuss different ways these metals can get into the tampons, from the cotton itself picking it up as it grows, to some metals(potentialy zink and calcium) potentialy being added on purpouse for things like odour control, lubrication, and to stop the growth of microorganisms. Part of why they believe this is a higher consentration of these metals compared to what has been found in regular clothing textiles.
- If zink is added by the manifacturers that is a problem because not a single box listed zink as an ingredient, not even in New York state which requires that to be the case. This is also why it's only a potential addition. Since it's not listed as an ingredient, they can't say for sure.
- A simmilar problem shows up with the cotton being used. Since the tampons don't list the orgin of the cotton used it was not possible to look into this as a factor.
- They compare the metals found in tampons to metals found in things like cosmetics. Since humans are known to absorbs things like lead from these souces throught the skin(and they link to other studies prooving this), it stands to reason that the more sensitive vaginal membranes likely do to. Again, this is a call for a bigger study to be made.
These are the big points I took away from reading this. I'd greatly recomend reading the study youself, at least the abstract and conclusion, especially if you use tampons. These are layman friendly,
Also terfs? Fuck off.
my period is back again and id like to take this moment to remind everyone with a uterus to avoid using tampons at all costs, if you can. a recent study was conducted with 14 different popular brands of tampons, revealing that every single one of them contained toxic metals such as lead, arsenic, and more.

What Does Brita Filter (and NOT Filter) Out from Water?
Brita is perhaps the most well-known water filter pitcher brand, and we're all aware that Brita improves water quality to some extent. But what exactly do Brita filters remove from tap water? And which contaminants does Brita not remove? We've done the research, and we've broken down the data on Brita's performance data sheets and certification databases in this article. *Note: this article explicitly discusses the contaminants reduced by Brita water filter pitchers: the Brita Elite and the Brita Standard. 🤔 Do Brita Filters Work? Yes, Brita filters work. They have been certified by official testing organizations to reduce specific contaminants. We've also personally tested the Brita Elite filter and can confirm that it effectively reduces some of the contaminants that Brita claims to reduce (we can only comment on the contaminants that were present in our water). But that doesn't mean that Brita filters work to reduce all contaminants. Brita filters are made from activated carbon media and ion exchange resin. These filter media have been widely proven and are expert-recommended to effectively improve water quality. For example: - This Drinking Water and Health evaluation of granular activated carbon for drinking water treatment noted that GAC filter media is recommended by the EPA as the "option of choice" to reduce synthetic organic chemicals in tap water. The report also noted that activated carbon has been used in the US since the 20th century to control tastes and odors in drinking water. - The EPA also recommends ion exchange treatment for removing positively-charged and negatively-charged contaminants, including arsenic, chromium-6, cyanide, nitrate, perchlorate, PFAS, sulfate, and uranium (anion exchange) and barium, radium, and strontium (cation exchange). So, Brita filters work to reduce select contaminants in water and address chlorine taste and odor. But they don't purify water (nor does Brita claim they can). That means a Brita filter might work to reduce the contaminants in your tap water, but it might not. It depends on what your water contains. 🔎 What Are Brita Pitcher Filters Certified to Remove? Does Brita Reduce Alcohol? No, Brita filters aren't certified to reduce alcohol. However, the carbon media in Brita filters can effectively address poor water taste and odor. So, while Brita filters have been found to make vodka taste like water, for example, they don't actually filter out the alcohol itself. Does Brita Reduce Arsenic? No, Brita water filters aren't certified to reduce arsenic. If your tap water contains arsenic, consider using a system that treats water with reverse osmosis, anion exchange, or ultrafiltration. Does Brita Reduce Atrazine? - The Brita Standard Filter is not certified for atrazine reduction. - The Brita Elite Filter is certified by IAPMO to NSF/ANSI 53 for the reduction of select pesticides and herbicides, including atrazine. Does Brita Reduce Bacteria & Other Microbiological Contaminants? No, Brita filters don't filter out bacteria or other microorganisms. Brita pitchers are designed to treat city water only. If you want to filter untreated water, look for water filters that can be used for this purpose. Alternatively, you can use a point-of-entry water disinfection system, like a chlorine injection system or a UV water purifier. Does Brita Reduce Chlorine & Chloramines? The Brita Elite (formerly Longlast+) Filters are certified by the WQA to NSF Standard 42, to reduce chlorine taste and odor. Although the Brita website and PDS for the standard filter indicate it is certified by the WQA, the only listing we can find in the database is outdated and shows certification for materials requirements only. In our own testing, the Brita Elite Filter reduced 100% of chlorine, from 1 PPM down to undetectable levels. Neither Brita filter is certified for chloramine reduction. Does Brita Reduce Chromium 6? No, Brita filters aren't certified to reduce chromium-6. The best methods of reducing chromium-6 include reverse osmosis systems, water distillers, and anion exchange resins (Brita says the Standard Filter uses ion exchange, but we think it uses a cation exchange resin, which doesn't address chromium-6). Does Brita Reduce Fluoride? No, Brita doesn't filter fluoride. If you find concerning levels of fluoride in your drinking water or you prefer not to be exposed to this mineral in your water, I recommend using a water filtration system that does address fluoride. Reverse osmosis systems, bone char carbon filters, activated alumina filters, and water distillers are all effective ways to reduce fluoride. Does Brita Reduce Hard Water & Remove Minerals? No, neither Brita filter is designed to address hard water or reduce minerals. Brita filters water, it doesn't soften it. Many of Brita's competitors actually did reduce hardness minerals in our testing. We think the filters' cation exchange resins reduced these minerals alongside select metal ions. However, the Brita Elite Filter didn't reduce calcium or magnesium at all in our own tests. Does Brita Reduce Iron? No, Brita filters aren't certified to reduce iron. Low concentrations of iron can be addressed alongside hard water minerals using a water softener. If your water contains more than 2-3 PPM of iron, your best solution is a whole-home iron removal system. Does Brita Reduce Lead? The Brita Elite Filter has a WQA certification to NSF/ANSI Standard 53 for lead reduction. The Brita Standard Filter is not certified to reduce lead. Does Brita Reduce Mercury? The Brita Standard and Elite filters have been certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 53 to reduce mercury. (See the Brita Elite's WQA certification here). Does Brita Reduce Microplastics? The Brita Elite Filter has a WQA certification to NSF/ANSI Standard 401 for the reduction of emerging compounds, including microplastics. The Brita Standard Filter does not have a microplastics reduction certification. Does Brita Reduce Nitrates/Nitrites? No, neither filter for Brita pitchers has been certified to reduce nitrate or nitrites. In our own testing, the Brita Elite filter reduced around 5% of nitrate - 3.5 PPM was detected in our unfiltered water, which was reduced to 3.3 PPM in our filtered water. Does Brita Reduce PFAs (Forever Chemicals)? The Brita Elite Filter has been certified by IAMPO to NSF/ANSI Standard 53 for the reduction of PFOA and PFOS (two of the most commonly studied PFAs in drinking water). The Brita Standard Filter is not certified to reduce PFAs. Does Brita Reduce Radioactive Substances? No, Brita filters are not certified to reduce radioactive substances like uranium, radium, radon, or other radionuclides. When we tested the Brita Elite filter, our unfiltered water contained 0.014 PPM of uranium. The Elite filter reduced 26% of this contaminant, down to 0.0103 PPM. The best water filter for reducing these radioactive substances depends on what you need to address. Anion exchange systems address uranium, while cation exchange filters reduce radium, and reverse osmosis systems should address both. Special point-of-entry granular activated carbon filters can trap radon gases. You could also use a POE aeration unit. Does Brita Reduce Sodium (Salt)? No, Brita filters aren't certified to reduce sodium in tap water. Our test water contained 9.63 PPM of sodium, and this actually increased by 10% to 10.6 PPM post-filtration in the Brita Elite Filter. The best way to reduce sodium in your water is with a reverse osmosis filter. You could also use a water distiller. Does Brita Reduce Sulfur Odor (Hydrogen Sulfide)? No, Brita filters aren't certified to filter sulfur odor (a rotten egg smell caused by the presence of hydrogen sulfide). Does Brita Reduce Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)? No, Brita doesn't reduce total dissolved solids. Generally, only reverse osmosis and other water purification processes reduce TDS. TDS is a combination of unwanted substances and impurities that are not considered dangerous to drink, like calcium and magnesium. Water filters like Brita are only designed to reduce the bad stuff. In our testing, the Brita Elite Filter only reduced TDS by around 2%. Does Brita Reduce Pharmaceuticals and Personal Care Products (PPCPs)? The Brita Elite Filter has a WQA certification to NSF/ANSI Standard 401, for the reduction of Estrone, Ibuprofen, and Naproxen. The Brita Standard Filter is not certified for pharmaceuticals reduction. Does Brita Reduce Disinfection Byproducts (DBPs)? No, Brita isn't certified to reduce disinfection byproducts. However, granular activated carbon has been proven effective at reducing disinfection byproducts in numerous studies. ❌ What Does Brita NOT Filter Out? There are several drinking water contaminants that Brita does not filter out. These include: - Arsenic - Fluoride - Microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, protozoa) - Chloramine - Iron - Hardness minerals - Radiological elements There are certain contaminants that only one Brita filter has been certified to reduce, and not the other. The Brita Standard filter can't reduce: - Lead - Benzene - Asbestos - Particulates - Pesticides & herbicides - Pharmaceuticals The Brita Elite filter can't reduce: - Copper - Zinc Many of these contaminants can be reduced with more comprehensive filtration. We've reviewed water filters that have effectively addressed fluoride, uranium, lead, and other contaminants that one or both Brita pitchers can't reduce. Make sure to test your water before you decide on the best water filter for your situation. You might find that your water only contains a few select contaminants that one of the Brita water filters can target. Or, you might discover that your water contains impurities that need to be addressed with dedicated treatment solutions. Read the full article

My UGREEN Multifunctional Card Reader USB 3.0 Review (w/ my paper dolls) - Part 1 [Feb 17th, 2023]
Hello, February! I have another UGREEN brand that I want it to share. Here's Part 1 of my UGREEN Multifunctional Card Reader USB 3.0 review (featuring my Paper Dolls).
An item that I need to insert my existing Micro SD/ (regular) SD Card for transferring my data file needs through my computer desktop/laptop & also my smartphone (with OTG function feature). 😊 📂➡️🖥️/💻/📱
So, without further ado, let's get started:
1st to 3rd Image(s): ↑
• Here's the packaging itself, very minimal look w/ some information at the back. 🙂📦 For paper dolls, do you think that item inside was made of licorice black filling? 🤔⚫🍬 Nah, incorrect! Also, we hate eating licorice for life. 😒
4th & 5th Image(s): ↑
• Nonetheless, inside the box are the main item, a mini strap with hook, and a handy instruction manual (with multiple languages). So yeah, I told you, there's no licorice black food inside. lol 😐🤷
6th to 11th Image(s): ↑
• Let's focus on the main item, the USB card reader. It may look like a normal USB storage thumb drive, but it doesn't have a memory chip because it has two slots for different memory cards; the upper part is for the normal SD card, and the lower right is for the TF / Micro SD Card. Two of which we're completely common & still produced, to this day. 🙂📦📦
12th & 13th Image(s): ↑
• Uh yeah, and I've already installed the mini strap onto the hole of my USB Card Reader. Stylish, isn't it, you two? 😎 They think that it's a licorice candy w/ a USB type A male & cap. lol 😅
14th & 15th Image(s): ↑
• Alright, let's not waste our time because I'm attempting a ✌️"Test Drive"✌️ with these memory cards, and some extras! By the way, the blue SD card (on the right) was from my mom & it's a Transcend brand. Don't eat, if you dare! ☝️
My recorded video #1 [Edited] 🎦📝: (pls watch)
• Anyways, let's start off by removing a cap & insert my functional Strontium 64GB TF card first before I plugged in into my PC's USB type A port. And once that, it pops another window to reveal my files from my Strontium 64GB Micro SD Card. Nice! So far, my files are intact without a single corrupt. 😁👍 When I go to the "This PC" window, I noticed there's an empty slot for the normal SD card. So, I'll try to use the Strontium's SD to Micro SD card adapter onto my old Samsung EVO 64GB TF card, after this.
• Now, once I removed my card reader safely I'm now attempting the Micro SD Card adapter with my Strontium & Samsung EVO TF Card, combining these into one single card before I insert another slot & plugged it in through my PC. And would you look at that! My old Samsung EVO still recognized my precious files! Yes! 😃 Now, my two Micro SD cards are operated by one USB Card Reader! Nice! And so far, just like my old Strontium 64GB, my old Samsung EVO's files are also intact without a single corruption. 😁👍
• Let's switch over to my windows 10 record video (using VLC media player), and let's see if I copy my snapshots through my Adata HD300 external HD. 1️⃣📂➡️🖥️ Which, by the way, I've already plugged in. And as you can see, the transfer rate is fast, even I plugged in the normal USB 2.0 socket. But, it's only 730MB, right? Yeah! And it successfully copied onto my external HD. Easy peasy! 😁However, when I switched to another Micro SD Card, this where the TRUE test for my Ugreen Card Reader. 2️⃣📂➡️🖥️ I first create a new folder before I copy the single folder from another TF card that contains a WHOPPING 8.7GB size! Damn! 😮 Anyway, once that, the 2nd attempt is off to the races at 30+ MB/s & it took 4 minutes (3:39 AM to 3:43 AM) to complete the copy process. Yeah, you heard me! 4 minutes for an 8.7GB copy process! Great! 😃 My two snapshot folders are now copied to my safe external HD (2 TB).😁
No overall thoughts, this time around. Because I have another post coming up, right here → [CLICK ME!].
Well, that's all for now.
If you haven't seen my previous topic, then I'll provide some links down below. ↓😉

Is Luminous Tape Safe for Kids? The Shocking Truth You Need to Know!
Hey Singapore parents! Craft time with the little ones is awesome, but safety always comes first. So, when it comes to that cool luminous tape (also known as glow in the dark tape or glow tape) you snagged for your latest project, a big question pops up: is it safe for kids?
Let's untangle the glow and get to the bottom of this!
Peace of Mind: Understanding Luminous Tape
Here's the good news: most commercially available luminous tape is perfectly safe for children. These tapes typically use a non-toxic material called strontium aluminate to create that cool glow effect. Strontium aluminate is a well-established glow-in-the-dark compound that's found in everything from safety signs to watch faces.
Potential Concerns: A Look at the Ingredients
However, a little caution is always wise. Here are a couple of things to keep on your radar:
Double-Check the Label: Always take a peek at the label before letting your child loose with any craft supplies. Look for reputable brands that clearly state the ingredients used in their luminous tape.
Beware of Knockoffs: While uncommon in Singapore, be wary of super cheap, imported glow in dark tape. These might contain less regulated substances, so it's best to stick with established brands.
Glowing Fun, Safely!
So, can you and your mini Picassos unleash your creativity with glow tape? Absolutely! Just remember these simple safety tips:
Adult Supervision is Key: For younger children, it's always best to have an adult around during craft time to ensure proper use and prevent them from putting anything in their mouths.
Clean Up is Crucial: After playtime, make sure to wash your child's hands thoroughly to remove any lingering tape residue.
With a little vigilance, luminous tape can be a fantastic way to add a touch of magic (and safety!) to your next craft project. Now get glowing, Singapore!
