After weeks of getting to know Ofelia , Hamon wanted their friendship to turn into something more...

With flowers in hand , he proclaimed her the prettiest girl in all of Hopebury , and asked if they could court.

Ofelia said nothing but placed a sweet kiss on his lips. A memory he would cherish for all time.

Together they have 3 children- Hamon , Andwise and Emmete.

Hamon is the oldest and the strongest, with a slight temper. He enjoys poking fun at his little brother Andwise , who also gets easily angry.

Andwise has little patient for his brother and find his jabs at him infuriating and irritating. To say that they do not get along at all is a understatement...

We have already met Emmete , the only daughter of Jeb and Nanss , as she is the romantic partner of Lothar Vanderling. A charming girl who often tries to mediate her big brothers conflict.

Because the alabaster and iron levels are so low in the mine , the Strongwoods feared that they wouldn't be able to pay the steward by the end of the season.

So Jeb decided to do something unorthodox- carve stone to hopefully get to the gemstones inside. Just until he figures out a better way to get to the gems and metals hiding in the rock.

But when Jeb announced the "great news" to his wife , Nanss was last then pleased over her eldest child's choice of love.

For whatever reason , Nanss disliked Ofelia and their first ever meeting was disastrous, so much so that a fight broke out between them.

Even a soldier came , but as it's Humphrey (who is evil btw ) , so he did nothing.

Jeb has lost count on how many times he told the boys off and punished them for fighting. Nanss thinks that it's simply "brotherly love" and they will grow out of it.

Emmete was missing Lothar and had the desire to kiss him , so she ran all the way from her family hut to his just to smooch him.

I'm unsure if Lothar and Iohn are scared or surprised.

Emmete , compared to her brothers , had a much quite life. She spent her days with Lothar mostly.

This girl might not be a hopeless romantic , but shes defiantly bitten by the love bug 🐛❤

The Strongwood family are our last peasant family in Hopebury.

Jeb is the patriarch and head-miner. At their little mining site he has found sights of both iron and alabaster gems. It isn't much now but he's optimistic!

His wife Nanss however is not impressed. She was used to silver mines , growing up at the Silverwick mining settlement in Kingswood. Iron and alabaster won't feed their large family nor pay the steward for the land they live in.

Ofelia had been on his mind ever since he first laid eyes on her, and had been dying to get to know her.

Surprisingly , they had a lot in common, both being very social people and struggling as the eldest of 3 children- Ofelia more so as her sisters where a lot younger then her compared to Hamons.

But it's nice to have someone to vent about without being berated or figthing. Maybe all Hamon needs is a friend like Ofelia... but could they potentially be something more?

In fact , these two fight so often that they set themselves on fire 😓

Hamon was worried that this fight between Ofelia and his mother would cost their blossoming courtship, but Jeb tries to assures him that Nanss will get over it.

Hamon is one of the few sims that has a birthday for the first rounds , so happy birthday!

Even if his a brute and bully, Hamon has a softer side to him- his love and fascination for animals, big and small.

And finally , it's the end of the summer season and Tobold is saving me from this constant in-fighting like a vampire in sparkling armor.

The Strongwoods (after selling everything metal/gem related items they had) earned 1178 simvarian florence. Meaning they will have 589 in savings.

Now , it's time to move to the next social class- the Yeoman's!
