When I was pregnant I bought a used stroller from Facebook Marketplace. It was a really nice stroller but had been used for two children already. We're definitely classified as a low income family, but as our rent is subsidized and my partner can work despite his disabilities, we do have disposable income. However we don't have a car, and so we spent seven months trudging this stroller through rain and snow (thanks Canada) to doctors appointments, grocery shopping, and everything else essential in a pandemic.
One of the wheels broke off in mid-june, and as our stroller is essential, we ordered a new one. Now for those who don't know, new strollers can be pricey. The average price of a decently made stroller with all the perks (think storage, well made wheels for all terrain, snack trays for baby, convertable seats so you can switch from car seat to stroller seat to bassinet, this shit is insane) is about $400. We have disposable income, but we definitely can't afford $400 on a whim.
We paid $180 for a used stroller. I bought a super cheap new stroller that had the bang for it's buck (and everyone who uses it in my family hates) for $140. Bringing us back to the point of the story about living in subsidized housing, three different neighbours made comments to other neighbours (who told us) that we must have money to burn because they saw our stroller by the trash, or heard or saw we got a new stroller.
They didn't know we bought one of the cheapest on the market. They didn't know we bought our original used. All they saw was we had money they didn't and felt jealous enough to voice that we were wasteful, disgusting people for buying a brand new stroller seven months after using our first one.
My point basically is, it's a lot easier to attack those who are able to have slight advantages over you no matter the circumstances in day to day life versus those who you only see on the internet or TV.
i swear there's more vitriol towards lower/middle class ppl that happen to have any kind of support system than towards millionaires LMAO. like having family members with disposable income isn't even wealth let alone generational what's going on

We Are Family || ST. HUMMEL
Kurt was double checking the diaper bag that was now opened on top of the kitchen counter to make sure everything they might need at some point was in it: diapers, obviously, wet towels, chewtoys, apple sauce, two bottles with the boiled water already in it, and the measured up formula to go in it, so all they had to do was shake it until it was ready, a change of clothes for each child for emergencies, and so many other things. The diaper bag was bigger and fuller now that they had two children to share a stroll at the park with, not to mention the items so that Elphie could also play where they were going, the nearby dog park in their neighborhood. which undoubtedly would be packed on a holiday weekend.Â
There was a time when Kurt didn't think he could feel happier than he did. Perfect husband, a beautiful baby girl, and the cutest dog of  them all. They were a happy family, with some ups and downs as all of them, but there was nothing they couldn't deal with while they were together. Yet he felt now even happier since they had welcomed a new bundle of joy into their lives, their adopted son, Noah. He was literally a little sunshine and together with Anne Marie they were clearly the powercouple at their house, but most importantly they both filled Kurt and Jesse's lives with love, laughter and the kind of family warmth they could only be so thankful for.  After making sure Noah was up to date with his vaccination they decided it was time to finally take him out, and what better day than the 4th of July weekend holiday?Â
"Jesse? You're ready up there?" he called his husband out, then he set up a couple of plates so they could enjoy a light breakfast, the children having already been taken care of a bit earlier.
"Coming!" Jesse called out, not too loud, as he was picking Noah up from where he'd changed him, Annie already being downstairs playing after eating the breakfast Kurt had made. He grinned at their son, carrying him downstairs. "We're here, aren't we, Noah? Yes." At Noah's age he was starting to toddle after Annie already, and Jesse had heard that happened with younger siblings... Noah had only been with them for about five months, but he was definitely working hard at catching up to Annie, and Annie loved having a younger brother - they could both tell. "My choices of outfits may not be as fashionable as yours babe, but we're all ready for the day." Noah clearly wanted to join Annie playing so Jesse carefully set him down and watched as he went to join his sister. He leaned in and kissed Kurt gently, and then knelt down to pat Elphie who was sniffing at his shins, "this looks good, babe."
@sexdrugsandbroadway
Kurt looked up when Jesse finally made it downstairs, and he smiled both at him and their son, who was practically making grabby hands so that Jesse would put him down in the playpen where Anne was. "Don't worry, honey. I trust your fashion sense by now" he said, smiling softly as their lips met, then he pushed the plate of fruit salad on the table on Jesse's direction, and pulled his own one close. "That said, I really don't think there is such a thing as a 'children's fashionable playing clothes'. All that could be considered fashionable enough might be shredded on a single trip to the park." He chuckled, then started to eat from his plate.
Jesse raised an eyebrow at Kurt, "I never thought I would hear you say that something couldn't be considered fashionable." He laughed and took a large spoonful of the fruit salad, keeping his eye on their children out of the corner of his eye. They ate their breakfast and chatted about the plans for the day, though mostly everything was organised. Kurt had packed the bag, and they had no timeframe as to when they had to be there and back. It was the perfect lazy family outing. Once they were done Jesse rinsed the dishes which Kurt got the pram ready for Noah.
Kurt chuckled and shrugged. "Puberty finally hit me I guess, honey." After making small talk while eating their fruit, and with Jesse havig washed the dishes, they were ready to go. The park was at a regular walking distance, and it wouldn't be the first time they had been there, so they knew already which spot was the best for their outing. After securing Noah into the stroller, and with Elphie's leash safely attached to it too, Kurt applied some children's sunscreen on both his children, then grabbed his own sunscreen and applied some on himself too. "You want some, honey?" he offered to Jesse.
Jesse accepted the suncream from Kurt and applied it to himself, then grabbed his sunglasses and keys from the counter. He slid the sunglasses on his face and pocketed the keys, since they'd only need them to get back inside the house as they weren't driving anywhere. Elphie whined, clearly amped up to go and Jesse laughed, opened the front door so Kurt could push the pram out. Elphie had learned, when they first had Annie, to walk nicely beside the pram, so she didn't try to pull forward or tug it behind her. "It's a beautiful day," he commented, holding Annie's hand as they walked slowly to her pace, Kurt walking next to them, pushing Noah in the pram.
Kurt took a deep breath as he stepped outside the door, already loving how the warmth of the sun brushed on him as they all started walking, with no hurries, just enjoyingthe casual stroll, all while Anne pointed her chubby little finger at everything she was seeing. "It's a perfect day" he replied, looking at him, then they looked at both sides before making the first of two crossings that would take them to the park.
Jesse made sure not to let go of Annie's hand as they walked, but she already knew to stop and look at the crossings, which they had taught her from day one. They told Noah what they were doing as they did it too, so he would know to do it when he got older as well. He looked up at the clear sky and smiled, "yeah, it's beautiful. Not too hot either." Elphie trotted beside the pram, her small feet padding against the pavement. They made it through the second crossing and towards the entrance of the park, and could already spot a nice shady spot near the playground that would be a good spot to park the pram.
Kurt nodded and smiled as he looked at him. · "Exactly! I mean, it's not that hot yet, although I'm sure that will come soon enough, so we have this nice day to enjoy." He followed Jesse's lead when he pointed a spot near the playground that Kurt liked too, and there unloading all their things in no time once they got there. There were several sandboxes there, and both Jesse and Kurt knew that the city ordenance kept those clean on a daily basis, one of the many perks of not living that close to the main part of the city. "So what'd you think? Shall we put them both in there, or should we just let them roam free?" He looked around as he asked that.
Jesse pulled the blanket out from the bottom of the pram, folding it out so it was fully open on the grass. Not that Noah really stayed on the blanket, especially not now he wanted to follow Annie everywhere, but it was a nice thought regardless, and gave Kurt and him somewhere to sit, though with Noah only being just over a year old, they still tended to stay close by to him and kept and eye on him, while still giving him freedom to move, get dirty and explore. While they always made sure not to track dirt inside the house, they certainly weren't the type of parents that were afraid of their kids getting a little dirty, it was a part of life. He picked Noah up from the pram, and sat down on the blanket, setting Noah down too, "I think we can just let them roam for a bit, we can always go into the sandbox later. What do you think Annie?" He asked their daughter who grinned up at them, "sounds good, daddy."
Kurt waited until Jesse opened the pram down on the grass so he could put all of their things down as well. After Jesse asked that to Anne she  immediately picked up her bag of toys and spread them all on top of the pram, apparently wanting her brother to play with her, a hint the baby boy picked up immediately, since he practically tackled the pile of toys on the pram. Kurt sat next to Jesse, with their bag between his legs and pulled the thermus out so they could drink water or juice if needed. Happy to see their children were busy enough to stay put on the pram, he took the chance to relax for a while while he leaned back on Jesse. "Hey there" he said as he smiled softly at him.
Jesse leaned back into Kurt and smiled in reply, "hey you." He nudged his shoulder against Kurt's, watching their children play. "She's been an amazing big sister, hasn't she?" Annie and Noah weren't paying any attention to them, but it had been truly incredible to see this side of Annie come out since they had finalised Noah's adoption. He'd heard stories of children becoming jealous when another child is brought into the home (from the hospital or adoption), and though Annie had never seemed like the type of kid to do that, she was still only 3 and may have been jealous of her dads giving another child equal attention. But she'd just blown them away with how caring and loving she was towards Noah, and how much Noah seemed to idolise her in return. They didn't have to be blood related, to truly be brother and sister because it was already apparent they were.
Kurt hummed and nodded. "I know, Amazing. It's almost like the missing piece. Not that we weren't happy before, but for her mostly. Now she has someone she will give all her wisdom to. Plus, her unmistakable sense of style." He looked at him and winked, then planted a soft kiss on his cheek before turning his attention to their children. It was then when two women walking together, walked past them and huffed. "You two should be ashamed of yourselves" one of them said, to which Kurt practically snapped his head around and glared at her. "What did you just say?" he demanded and stood up. "Two men frolicking like that in front of children, and also letting that little girl with a negro kid? Shame."
Jesse gave a crooked grin and was just about to point out that Annie got her own sense of style from Kurt himself, when words interrupted what he would have said. Kurt reacted faster than he did, already standing up before Jesse had processed what the woman had the nerve to say though - as soon as he had - he was on his feet next to Kurt. "Excuse me?" Jesse asked, staring at her, still in disbelief. He looked down at Annie and Noah, who were still oblivious to what was going on. "How dar- he happens to be her brother. The only shameful thing here, is you. Why don't you mind your own goddamn business?" "Daddy?" Annie asked, realising the commotion and looking up, "why you angry?" He knelt down in front of her, though he was still aware the woman was there, and shook his head, putting a smile on his face because he didn't want Annie (or Noah) to notice something was wrong... he wanted to shield them for as long as he could, though it was clear that maybe the world was going to fight that, or maybe he'd just been too unrealistic. "It's nothing, sweetheart. You're such a good girl, sharing your toys."
The anger boiling inside of him got even higher, not only because of what that woman had said, but from hearing his daughter noticing something was wrong, because of the tone of their voices. It wasn't like they never fought while they were in the house, but there were meaningless things, not something liKe the subject been attended at that moment. "He's right. You're the shameful ones here. Shameful, narrowminded, homophobes and racists. You're the reason this world is going down the drain." He stepped closer to the women, standing taller than her. "Now, you stay away from children or so help me God, you're going to regret it."
Jesse looked up at Kurt from where he was kneeling in front of Annie. The woman looked between the two of them and for a second, Jesse wasn't sure what she was going to do but he was ready to jump in front of the kids if it came to that. If she tried to... he didn't know, "rescue" them or whatever bullshit was going through her brain. He'd heard plenty of situations. Of course she would be the one in the wrong no matter which way it was looked at, but it wasn't something he wanted to happen either. "Fucking queers," she spat at them as the other woman she was with finally spoke up, grabbing the first woman's arm and attempted to guide her away, "come on, Karen, let's just go. They're not really hurting anybody."
Kurt was glaring fire at the woman when she called them that, and he had several colorful phrases to say to her, but first, he didn't want to sink to her level, and second, he didn't want his children to absorb anymore negativity. He wa glad the other womn was trying to pull  her away, and even more glad when he saw the other one complying. After they were gone he turned around to look at Jesse and held his stomach with his hand before he finally fell to his knees, tears falling silently from his eyes. He just couldn't help it.
Jesse made sure Annie and Noah were okay, before moving over to where Kurt had dropped to his knees. He wrapped his arms around him and pulled him in for a silent hug. After a few moments passed, he kissed Kurt's cheek softly, "c'mon, babe... we can't let that shi- stuff. That stuff get to us..." He looked over in the direction the woman had walked off in, now no longer in their line of vision, "sometimes I forget that - even in New York - there are people like that." He felt a tug on his shirt and looked over to see Annie there, and Noah looking on. She looked between Jesse and Kurt. "Dada? Why is Daddy crying?" He looked at Kurt, unsure of what they should tell her.
Kurt immediately clutched onto Jesse's first when he felt his arms around him, feeling so helpless for a moment, and also hating himself for lettiing it getting to him like that. It had been years since he had last allowed anything mean anyone said to affect him, but the fact that his children were there, even if they didn't really understand what had just happened, the fact that he couldn't protect his family from the bigotry of the world, at that moment, it broke him. He came to a complete silence when he heard Annie's voice behind them, quickly wiping his tears before he looked up to her.Â
âIt's okay, baby girl. That lady just gave Daddy some awful news and he got sad, that's all." He shifted on the spot so he could pull her in his arms, then he stood up and, with her holding onto him, he sat next to the playpen where Noah looked at him with a sort of a frown. He picked him up with his free arm and held his two children close to him, but his eyes looked at Jesse with a clear sadness in them. "There will always be. And for the first time in years, it scares me, Jesse..." His grip on the children tightened just a little bit.
Jesse leaned back on his knees with a soft sigh, knowing that Kurt was right. There always would be... he'd just... forgotten. He knew his life was different to Kurt's, knew he'd never really experienced the kind of hate that Kurt had gone through. He'd knew he liked men in high school, but he hadn't come out persay (though some knew), not until he was in New York. And he spent most of his time around the theatre or gay bars in his early days, never really experiencing the wrath of some members of the public. Kurt's life was different. He knew what Kurt had gone through in high school, after high school too. And he could hear the fear in Kurt's voice now. For him it was an isolated incident, for Kurt it was all too real. He wrapped his arms around Kurt and their children in a family hug, and nodded, "I know... but we'll get through it, okay? The world is changing - for the better - and people like that aren't celebrated anymore."
Feeling his husband's arms around him made him feel that much more calm, and also having his children in his arms, unknowingly giving a much needed warmth, Kurt was able to relax a lot, and he looked up at Jesse and nodded. "As long as we're all together, right?" he said with a hopeful voice, then let go of the children so they could play a little longer before they had to return home. He sat in between Jesse's legs while he still had his arms around him, his hands holding onto those arms. "I love you, Jesse..." he whispered.
"Careful, or I'll start singing High School Musical just for you," Jesse cracked a joke, trying to ease the tension though his smile was still slightly rigid. "I love you too," he replied quietly when Kurt moved to in between his legs, pressing a kiss to his temple, "and nobody is going to change that - okay? No matter what bullsh- bull they say."
Kurt rolled his eyes and chuckled. "Oh gosh.. I fell right into that one, right?" He held onto Jesse's arms, cuddling back against the warmth of his chest. "No matter what. You're right." After a while they brought the children back onto the blanket so they could eat some snacks, at least Annie would while Noah drank his milk, which Kurt did this time, while Jesse attended Annie. He looked down at his son, then at his husband with his daughter and sighed happily. Jesse was right. If they had to take onto the world to protect their family they would. Together. And he knew there was nothing they couldn't do if they stick together.Â

Jogging or walking on a treadmill is an easy way to get your recommended amount of aerobic exercise each day. Should you spend very much to get a childrens stroller? For those of you who want the very best and are willing to give the price, surprisingly, there is a good selection available. The need for these kinds of items is always high and which is why they can be fairly simple to find. One question I get yourself a lot during my days wheeling and dealing in used BOB strollers is which BOB is actually great for jogging.

Jogging Stroller Buying Guide By Jenn Jenkins
You probably know this there's a wide selection of baby strollers around the market to pick from.
