Straud, the oldest registered family name on the Forgotten Hollow Valley; the pale skins, the peculiarly perennial looking siblings, the cold-eyed and over-dominant older brother, the never confirmed stories about his responsibility on the first war against Transylvania, the so many rumors surrounding the second sister's marriage, the runaway son and his bride, the ever silent daughter, the creepy doll looking baby

and who was Lady Ecaterina? ...well, that's a story for another day.

the Strauds have been a work over the years of my sister and I. and we have so much lore about them. we created the family in different moments and with different stories and then ended up joining them together making something so much better and then enriched the story we already had, and made some touch-ups along the way to some of them... that's why originally they all look so different from one another (there's a big mix of mm makeovers with original vanillas and ancient 2017 us sim styles. lol) it's been a ride, it's still a ride, it's just so fun to keep adding things to their lore. we're still creating their history books (⁠◡⁠ ⁠ω⁠ ⁠◡⁠)

fun fact is I think we've never actually played with them. lol. and we've had them for so long!! but we just made them and made their stories in our heads and that's it. that's our favorite way of playing apparently... using the game to create ocs, imagine their lifes while doing it and closing the game after that. lol. well ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

🦇 Straud

Count Vladislaus Straud IV is the latest descendant to occupy Straud Manor. His oddly similar looking line of ancestors has resided here since the founding of Forgotten Hollow. Though he mostly keeps to himself, he can often be found on nightly walks around town. It's clear he disapproves of the sudden increase of neighbors, from the angry pipe organ music that bellows from his home during the night.

Straud Mansion WIP

This build is my passion project right now. So far it has a:

formal dining room,

conservatory/breakfast/sun room,

eat-in kitchen,

music room,

parlor,

séance room,

two-story library/study,

game room,

smoking/gentlemen’s room,

two half baths on the main floor,

and two secret staircases.

There’s also a cold storage room and wine cellar in the basement. They’re accessible through a hidden staircase between the kitchen and music room. I’m also planning on adding a pool, and a crypt in the basement. However, I’ve hit a wall with the layout of the second floor and attic, and I’m incredibly grateful that @awingedllama has graciously agreed to take a crack at it for me. I can’t thank you enough, Anna!

Little Valentine & Lucien 😭😭😭 seeing your old gameplay pics hits so different. Sims felt so different then. I used to play without reshade idk how I survived that time 😞 I think I actually had a lot of fun with the gameplay, I didn't need to work hard to make the game look good for me to stay on. These screenshots even look like they're from sims 2
