The myth of the general audience shipping milkvan is crazy. I remember in 2022 everybody was bashing Mike and Eleven as a couple and thought the confession was HORRIBLE. 3 years without a season really make some people forget about it.

it kind of rubs me the wrong way when people say that mike is the one who will be vecna’d in s5 because of his internalized homophobia…i agree that mike will probably be targeted by vecna and i think will will be too (but not in the typical way because he has a more complicated connection to vecna and it’s more personal) but the thing that bothers me is that people almost act like will doesn’t *also* have internalized homophobia. i don’t think he’s quite as repressed as mike is but seasons 3 and 4 pretty clearly showed us how much he was struggling internally. people will sometimes talk about it like will is the “out” one and mike is the one who has stuff to figure out when the reality is that they are both closeted gay teens in the 80s and vecna will almost definitely use will’s feelings against him

I mean baseball in Stranger Things has always been used to show forced conformity and Mike and El's relationship is built on forced conformity and Mike wanting to be normal, in s5 Mike is gonna accept that he's gay and he won't try to be normal anymore, according to leaks the scene is crucial and I can understand that since they possibly broke up in that scene
