A letter from August of the WillowWeather Kingdom to Sapphire of the Wintercry Kingdom,
I know it often seems foolish to write notes of love. A boy's gesture, to the one he adores, whether foolishly or truly. However, I would be lying if I did not name myself as a bit boyish, holding fast to the whimsical aspects of life.
My dearest, I must stress that I have missed you so much more than mere words could afford to express. I long to hold you in my arms, to take you to the seaside that you have always longed for. No matter what happens, I promise by the winding willows that I will take you to those sandy shores.
Our fathers truly cursed themselves by betrothing us, did they not? By casting away the ones they wish to hide away, they have caused us to shine brighter than they ever will. You are my light, my lovely gemstone, reflecting whatever light that has graced your presence onto the people that beckon for your assistance. It is something I admire about you- your nearly reckless will to defy others' expectations in favor of your own will. I aspire to one day be as brave as you.
My love, I am afraid my manservant is scolding me for taking so long to get for dinner- an experience I'm sure you've shared many a times. So for now, this is all I have for you. I love you, Sapphire. May the wind guide your heart.
In trust,
August WillowWeather
