Fun Fact: Those teleporter pads originally developed by Silph? They don't actually teleport you.
It works off the same tech as the PSS, modified to pull a heap more power into so it can digitize a person. You are not actually going one place to the other without crossing the intervening space, you're being transferred over ethernet packets to the other pad where you are then reconstructed from said packets. Now since this is based on existing PSS tech, you're probably wondering "why hasn't this seen wide adoption for public use?"
