Young Lex!

Thank you for the ask!! 💗I loved the idea of this fic, I wish I was actively working on it. But it's basically a Smallville AU, "Lex dies in 2008. Clark doesn't deal well. Flash forward to 2020 he finds a 15-yr old clone of Lex Luthor". So here's the opening scene!

May 2008 - Luthor Mansion Smallville, Ks

If you stayed on the roads, without cutting across Potter’s field, and then Sutton’s land, it was a two mile walk from the Kent Farm to the Luthor Mansion. Clark could make the run in less than a minute, and it was even faster to fly. But today, it would take him forty minutes. 

He could, and maybe should, have taken the truck. But the sun was high and hot in the bluebird sky, the field grass was tall (green stalks with rusty brown fingers), and the air was filled with the sounds of Petefish’s tractor planting his back field along Elk Creek. It would be soybeans, since last year he’d planted corn. All of this filled the quiet minutes of the walk, and Clark thought of his father, of riding around on the tractor in his lap; he thought of his old favorite calf Cookie, her silky brown nose and the giant fans of her eyelashes.  He thought of Lex. And then tried to push it away because in a few minutes, that would be all he could think about. The rest of the day was dedicated to slogging around the trenches of memory, dim and murky, and corrosively bitter.  The air rumbles and Clark ambles off to the side of the road where the gravel is banked up; the road is narrow so he’s practically standing in the ditch when the silver Jeep Compass slows, crunching to a stop.  “Can I give you a ride?”  Lucas Luthor (or, Clark’s not sure what name he’s going by these days) squints through the lowered window. He hasn’t changed much, but he does look older; hair softer and a bit thinner, no gel. He’s softer in the face, too, less wary around the eyes. Clark kicks gravel over the toe of his boot. “I was gonna walk.”   “I think Tess is already there. She’s probably waiting. She is. Clark can hear her, almost a mile away, speaking on her phone with a paper thin voice. Clark nods and goes around to the passenger door. The lock clicks over and he climbs in. The air conditioning is on low, and the car smells new. Probably a rental. “We just flew in last night. I left Amanda at the hotel, I figured... I dunno. I didn’t want to bring anybody. It didn’t seem right, I guess.” Clark nods, elbow propped in the open window as they crunch slowly along, not kicking up much dust. “Amanda’s my wife,” Lucas clarifies. Band of gold on his left hand, curled up under his temple. His right hand held the bottom of the wheel loosely, keeping the speedometer under forty; Clark wondered when that particular Luthorian impulse had evaporated, why it had stayed with Lex till the end, what it meant that it had. Probably nothing. “I dunno, it’s not like he’d care. It doesn’t...” It doesn’t matter. Clark stares out the window, at the first peek of the elm trees at the end of the drive.  “We talked a lot, the past few years, you know. Not so much this year, actually. But the past few, we’d talk every month. Sometimes every week. He did a lot for me. Helped me get on my feet, kept Dad’s people away. He kept trying to move me around, but then I met Amanda in Knoxville, and I told him, I don’t give a fuck what Dad thinks he can try. I found the girl I’m going to spend the rest of my life with, I’m staying here. He told me she must be a hell of a girl. Asked if she had a sister.” He grins over at Clark, looks away when Clark doesn't summon a smile back.  “Anyway. Thanks for coming today, Clark.” “It’s fine.” Clark has to clear his throat. He hasn’t talked a whole lot the past few days, except to his mother once, and Tess on the phone a couple of times; and then only barely, he’d mostly listened. “Just...want to get it over with.” “Right,” Lucas nods. “Yeah.” They turn into the driveway, and the elms stretch upward with the slow rise of the hill, the stony crown of the highest turret rising into view.  The past becomes present.

Before Chimney could even blink, Buck was moving past him and fully into the backyard. Okay?

“Wait, Buck-”

But Buck was on the move.

Bitcoin has been left in the dust by Ripple’s XRP over the last week, with traders betting a Wall Street earthquake could be about to hit the cryptocurrency. The bitcoin price rally, which began earlier this year but took off after the election of Donald Trump, has stalled at just under $100,000—though some are predicting the market will explode in 2025. Now, as analysts spot a “tipping point” that could send the bitcoin price to $200,000, bitcoin juggernaut MicroStrategy is poised to be added to the Nasdaq-100 Index, potentially sending huge swathes of investor cash into the company’s already sky-high stock. MicroStrategy joining the $26 trillion Nasdaq 100, “will open up flows to a new class of investors that would not otherwise have singularly bought a stock like MicroStrategy on their own,” Jeff Park, head of alpha strategies at Bitwise, told Coindesk. If the company, which sells business analytics software alongside holding huge amounts of bitcoin, is added to the Nasdaq 100 it would then be eligible to join the $312 billion Invesco QQQ exchange-traded fund (ETF), one of the world’s largest ETFs that all but guarantees a passive, permanent flow of capital. The Nasdaq stock exchange will announce its latest index membership shuffle on December 13, with MicroStrategy’s $75 billion market capitalization putting it well within the top flight—it’s the 66th-largest company by market cap following its near-500% stock price surge this year. MicroStrategy’s inclusion is basically guaranteed,” Stony Chambers Asset Research analysts wrote in a Seeking Alpha post, however others have warned MicroStrategy’s pivot to bitcoin since 2020 could mean Nasdaq classifies it as a finance company, rendering it ineligible for inclusion in the index. day 6 for @stonyweek : bots as matchmakers (Ao3)

One of the cleaning bots likes Steve, it’s no big deal.

“It’s a crush, sir,” JARVIS insists and Tony’s ready to mock but there’s a sharp conscience which bites, saying he might offend the entire robotic field with his quip so he shuts up.

“How bad is it?” he asks instead. 

There’s a pause and a vague, “Not too bad. She’s very caring for the Captain’s wellbeing,” is all JARVIS says.

One morning, Tony stumbles into the kitchen after an all nighter to the peculiar sight of a cleaning bot propped on the kitchen counter, near the coffee machine. 

When he reaches to pick up the bot, Steve stops him with a hand to his elbow, and he secretly shares that, “She’s making me a coffee, give her a minute.”

Tony gawks when the bot does exactly that; sliding out an inlet to fetch the filled cup, and it buzzes its way across the counter to where Steve stands, flipping pancakes. Steve thanks her with an affectionate pet and she whirs in excitement.

Later in the workshop, he stares at various footage of the bot interacting with Steve and comments numbly, “You said it wasn’t bad.”

JARVIS says nothing, but Tony imagines the smug expression to his codes, anyway.

He freezes a particular footage and expands it, “You said it wasn’t bad,” he repeats with added weight. The image of the bot resting atop of Steve’s chest while he sleeps stares back. 

“Indeed, Sir,” JARVIS replies, “It’s not bad at all. The Captain seems to suffer fewer night terrors in Miss Clean’s presence.”

“Miss Clean.”

“Yes, Sir. The Captain thought it would be proper to name her.”

“Do you even know what you’re doing now? Tony bristles. “You’re encouraging his relationship with a bot. Stop encouraging his relationship with a bot.”

JARVIS’s answer is a flat, “I don’t know how that is wrong, Sir. According to my readings, Miss Clean and the Captain’s relationship is no difference from ours.” Then, in a more clipped tone, he adds, “I suspect you’re just jealous. Sir.”

Tony mutes him.

It’s eerie. Wherever Steve goes, Miss Clean goes; like a duckling imprinted on its mother. Where Steve sits, she’s there; whether next to him or by his feet. Tony has to mind her when he claims his usual seat next to Steve during movie nights. Sometimes, she’s in the middle, her round curve buzzing and poking at Tony’s hip; keeping him away from sliding closer to Steve.

No. He’s not jealous. 

She sleeps in Steve’s room, on his bed and she’s probably seen Steve naked more than JARVIS at this rate. No, Tony is definitely not jealous of a cleaning bot.

“I want one,” Clint says longingly one afternoon. Watching Miss Clean putter around the kitchen trying to help while Steve makes sandwiches for lunch.

“I’m just saying,” Tony hiccups, “I can dismantle her right now.” The wrench in his hand is a warning. 

DUM-E steals it from him, whirring away with loud beeps. Tony’s too drunk for a roundabout chase so he slides to the floor, elbows on knees and head in hands. 

Another hiccup.

“If I may, Sir,” JARVIS speaks softly, courtesy of his excellent coding. “You should have accepted the Captain’s proposal.”

Tony snorts, breaking into a maniacal laughter and he falls on his back; cool linoleum like a shock to his system, an instant sobering agent. JARVIS makes it sound like a marriage proposal when it was just Steve asking him out for a date. And Tony said, no.

“You know why, J,” he sighs, staring at the stark white ceiling above him. 

JARVIS doesn’t pause, “Because you believe he deserves better, Sir.”

“I do.”

A weighted pause. “But he’s substituted you with Miss Clean instead.”

Tony blinks. JARVIS is not wrong. But, “I can dismantle her right now.”

Inherently, Tony thinks while lying on his king sized bed recovering from an appropriately king sized hangover, it’s JARVIS who controls all the bots in the tower.

Two days later, Steve’s in the workshop discussing upgrades with Tony while Miss Clean and DUM-E whiz around playing chase. Or so Tony thinks until Miss Clean weaves dangerously in between Steve’s feet, tripping him into Tony.

Tony catches him - of course he does - and then he realises that he’s got an armful of Steve without their usual armours in between them; bare skin touching at some places and Steve’s warm and heavy. Tony can both hear and feel him breathing and it’s so surreal that he aches when Steve pulls away. 

“Sorry,” he blushes prettily. 

Tony scratches his head and waves it off, “No problem.”

“You planned it didn’t you?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Sir.”

It keeps happening.

Tony sits next to Steve during their movie night. Miss Clean whirs away from her spot in between them and falls off of the couch, settling snuggly between their feet instead.

Steve has a nightmare one night. Tony wakes up to a frantic Miss Clean climbing up his legs, JARVIS explaining that she’d come to fetch him to help Steve.

Tony upgrades her; adds tiny arms so she could hold things. Steve comes running, thought he’d lost Miss Clean and when he sees her on Tony’s lap, chirruping happily after a successful test run, he kisses Tony’s cheek and thanks him.

“JARVIS,” Tony says one day, “I know what you’re doing.”

“Are you going to say yes, Sir?”

Tony thinks about it. He still believes that Steve deserves better, but then there’s Steve, happy to be with just Tony. Smiles and laughs like Tony’s the best thing that has ever happened to him. Looks at him like he’s both stars and the moon and Tony loves him. Of course, he does. 

It’s why he thinks Steve deserves better after all.

“I don’t know,” he shrugs, “Maybe.”

“JARVIS said you called,” Steve walks in, Miss Clean in tow, speed crashing into DUM-E who beeps fondly at her. 

Steve’s gaze follows them, Tony’s too, and both of them noticed it at the same time, which is as horrifying as it is shocking. 

There’s a bouquet in DUM-E claw; of red roses, blue hydrangeas, and white baby breaths which Steve accepts mechanically when handed over. He looks at Tony, stunned.

Tony doesn’t know what it is, didn’t remember planning this, but he has an inkling who did and he puts his trust in them. “Go on,” he croaks nervously, “Read it.”

Steve does, out aloud, “Dear Steve, if you don’t mind, please ask me out on a date again. I’d like to say, yes.”

“Is that right?” His blue eyes a wide, disbelief and pure delight brimming in abundance. 

Tony puts down the welding torch before he walks over and pulls Steve into a deep kiss. Both Miss Clean and DUM-E chirrupping excitedly in the background and Tony presses a smatter of yesses all over Steve’s laughing face.

“Are you happy now?” Tony asks, rolling over onto his back, smiling at the distant sound of the shower running; a reminder of who’s in there. 

JARVIS response is a curious question, “Are you, Sir?”

“I am,” Tony answers easily, “Very much so.”

“Glad to hear, Sir.” Obviously he is, that meddling little creation of his. 

Tony shakes his head, fond and he doesn’t forget to say, “Thank you, JARVIS.”

Tony got used to not breathing after Afghanistan. He remembered the agony of it, the black spots in his vision as the world went out of focus, cut through with angry red spikes of pain. He never thought he’d have to do it again.

But if it was to keep Steve safe, well. There was little Tony wouldn’t do.

1) For MTH, I still have 2020′s Band AU to start posting. I have about 1200 words left to write on it, so it should start posting ANY MINUTE!! I also have a Winteriron mechnic!Bucky AU for @rise-up-ting-ting-like-glitter that’s about halfway done!

2) I’m working on an Arranged Marriage ABO Stony fic for my darling @betheflame which is also about halfway done :D

3) Venom 2 has got me in a Venom mood again and I’m trying to finish my Symbrock fic I started to write minutes after seeing the first movie, oh so many moons ago. I still love this fic, but damn, it’s like... too similar to the second movie in some ways, loooool (it’s basically a love letter to @willidothefandango)

4) I have a Twilight AU that’s a fucking BLAST to write, and I’m looking forward to getting some other things out of the way so I can work on it more.

5) Working on some old WIPS, some more stuff for Bday Bingo 2020. Trying to clean up the old hutch before the New Year.

6) Working on a secret sexy collab!

I did Nano this year and won (yay!) so Nov has mostly been writing and not much editing, but Dec will be about editing and getting things posted. I’m hoping to start 2022 with my obligations/promised stuff done or mostly done so I can fly with a little more freeform next year! Thanks for reading <3

It barely makes the list until a good couple weeks have passed, and he’s settled down as much as he can into a bunk on stony Base One. It’s setting down his toothbrush and flannel that does it; the ‘oh shit’ he breathes out when he sees the blank space in his little storage crate that should house his collection of vials and needles.

Summary: Peter and Steve are finally settling into their new life with Tony. Recovery isn't always a straight line, especially with a four-year-old, but they're trying their best. Their newfound fame has Steve juggling between his private life and the one plastered on the front page of every tabloid. He shouldn't have been surprised that the public didn't believe in his rags to riches love story. Tony usually makes it easier for him to handle it all. Until he starts to distance himself from Steve, as if now he's the one hiding something. And Steve is left wondering if he's about to lose Tony for good this time.

Peter Parker has been living on the streets, trying to hide his identity as the entire world wants Spider-Man dead, and dealing with the trauma that Beck left him. To make things worse - it's now his fault that yet another bad guy thinks they're entitled to owning Earth.

Summary: Peter honestly didn't know how no one had discovered his tattoos yet. He wasn't broadcasting them but he wasn't exactly being the most subtle either. Although he was partly grateful for it since he was dreading what would happen when May on Tony saw them. But he was pleasantly surprised at the reactions that he got when he was found out. Summary: For the next hour they tried to calm Morgan again but, just like the rest of the day with Tony and Pepper, nothing was working. No teething rings, gel, nothing. The little girl was just well and truly grumpy, tired, and sore.

Suddenly an idea came to Peter and he turned to Tony and Pepper. 

"Can I try something?"

They both nodded at him, prompting him to continue with his idea.

"Can I take her for a drive?" He asked. "I'm not sure if it'll work but Ben used to do it for me when I was younger and it always calmed me down."

Summary: Tony and Peter shared a lot of similarities, there was no doubt about it. A lot of their mannerisms were the same, personality quirks (especially in the lab), occasional recklessness, selfless hero personas, etc etc. However, one thing they didn't share was their taste in burgers. Whenever the topic came up there was a friendly, yet heated, 'disagreement' as Tony called it. No matter what anyone ever told him, Tony thought that a cheeseburger was the holy grail of burgers. And Peter, well… he happened to think the same only for chicken burgers.

Inspired by Stony Trumps Hate and Fandom Trumps Hate, our purpose is to encourage fandom unity while raising money for non-profit organizations that work to protect civil rights, marginalized and oppressed communities, and the environment.

Our fandom-wide fundraiser auction raised almost $27,200 USD for charity with the help of 324 generous creators and hundreds of bidders last year. This year, we’re looking forward to raising just as much awareness and money for some Marvel-ous causes!

Creator sign-ups will open in one month’s time, on Sunday, September 13, 12 AM ET (Eastern Time). Creators may offer different types of works such as fics, art, edits, videos, beta services, crafts, and more for any character, ship, or universe in the Marvel multiverse.

Sign-ups will run until Saturday, September 26, 11:59 PM ET, which should give everyone plenty of time to think about what they’d like to offer, spread the word, and sign up as a creator!

This year, there will be a preview week from October 11 to October 17, during which potential bidders can peruse all the auctions and start building their list of fanworks to bid on. We will also use this time to make corrections to auction pages before bidding begins.
