In the 1960's General Motors was trying to get the freight cost down on Vegas to keep them a budget friendly car. At the time, a new Vega had a price tag around $2,000. Engineers from GM and Southern Pacific Railroad came up with the Vert-A-Pac. This allowed 30 cars to be shipped per boxcar instead of 18. Lowering freight costs by up to 40%. GM engineers also designed specific oil baffles to keep oil from spilling along with specially designed carburetors, batteries and added plastic spacers between the powertrain and the chassis to prevent damage.

✏ - like nerf guns, i have accumulated quite the stockpile of hot wheels over time. unlike nerf guns, collecting hot wheels is very much an ongoing hobby on my part.

Volvo 850 R (station wagon, manual transmission, ideally dark green, ideally black interior) - the car I usually mention when asked this. an "ultimate dream car" if you will.

2005/06 Ford GT (white with dark blue stripes, BBS wheels, painted brake calipers, no optional stereo) - the "dream supercar"

Volkswagen Golf Alltrack by Innovative Motorsports / Kia Stinger GT / Volvo V60 Polestar - the "dream daily driver." To elaborate on the first mentioned, there is a speed shop in the USA that specializes in yanking the engine and drivetrain from a 2017+ Audi RS3 and slamming them into a Mk7 VW Golf. And, reportedly, they do the unassuming Alltrack wagons too - which is insanely cool if you ask me. The other two are, let's say, more realistic alternatives.

Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato - it's just cool, man (gender neutral). Offroad Lambo. Factory offroad Lambo supercar. Sure, the Porsche 911 Dakar might be a better car but this one is cooler.

Koenigsegg Gemera - the "poster car." Actually owning it is reserved for the wildest of dreams, but it is what I'd call the greatest car ever. And that was even before Koenigsegg engineers looked at the Gemera, looked at the 5-liter engine of their other hypercar, and went "we could fit that."

Daily Forza Car #6: The Singular Kia

Yeah it's... it's a Kia today. BUT THIS AIN'T YOUR MOM'S KIA.

KIA STINGER, BABY. The first actually sporty car from the budget of budget car brands, and holy shit is it something else. This car is the first one I'll point to as a "guilty pleasure," if only because of that branding, even today with them trying (and honestly failing) to try and become a higher class brand. For some reason. At least they had a nice redesign of the logo.

But enough shittalking the brand, how's the car? Well, to start with the looks, it's pretty standard for a 2010's Kia. Hell, you could reasonably get it confused with a K500 or a Rio. But, that's part of the allure of it. The rather basic appearance, mixed with the whitest brand to come from Korea, and you a genuine modern sleeper.

Sleeper is absolutely the best word to describe this car, too. It's got a lot more horsepower than you would ever expect from one of these cars, putting out just over 350hp and giving it a ~5 second 0-60 time. Add on a handling platform that lets you put that power down properly, and you've got the underdog smash hit that is the Stinger GT. If there's anything I can give Kia shit for on this car (aside from the looks), it would be the fact that they never made it into a touring car of any sort. It did well at every track it hit up, so why not take it racing and break out into that world too?

Mặt nạ mũi hổ, biểu tượng của thương hiệu, được cách điệu với một cấu trúc đa tầng độc đáo. Hệ thống đèn pha Full LED được thiết kế với dải đèn ban ngày hình trái tim "Heart beat" rất ấn tượng. Trung tâm của Kia K5 rực rỡ với các chi tiết như ghế ngồi, vô lăng và táp-lô làm từ chất liệu da cao cấp, được trang trí bằng ốp kim loại vân gỗ. Ngoài ra, mẫu xe còn có các tính năng độc đáo như sưởi - làm mát hàng ghế phía trước, một tính năng độc nhất trong phân khúc, ghế hành khách với chế độ thư giãn một chạm và sưởi vô lăng (từ phiên bản Premium). Ở phần hàng ghế sau, Kia K5 cũng tích hợp nhiều tiện ích cao cấp như chế độ sưởi (trên phiên bản GT-Line), màn hình tựa lưng ghế, cửa gió điều hòa tích hợp 2 cổng sạc USB, và rèm che nắng kính sau dạng ẩn.

Một tính năng đáng chú ý trên thế hệ mới của mẫu sedan hạng D này là cảnh báo khi có người ngồi trên hàng ghế sau sau khi người lái tắt máy và rời xe. Điều này là một tính năng hữu ích, giúp tránh tình huống trẻ em hoặc thú cưng bị bỏ quên trên xe.

Kia K5 được trang bị hai tùy chọn động cơ. Điểm nổi bật trên Kia K5 mới là cảm giác lái linh hoạt với 4 chế độ lái khác nhau: Comfort/Eco/Sport/Smart. Chỉ cần thao tác với nút chuyển "Drive Mode", người lái có thể thay đổi trải nghiệm lái xe từ "điềm đạm" và tiết kiệm nhiên liệu đến phong cách lái phấn khích và thể thao.
