A/N: There’s one good and one bad ending.
Tumblr media
Kwon had noticed you when he first started taking karate, though this was because he saw how close you and Sensei Kim were. He thought because of this that you were a favorite student of hers, he was a little bit right but not so much. But the thing was you were her child though you weren’t necessarily a planned child, luckily your mother didn’t treat you any differently because of it. To no one's surprise, you started taking karate which was led by your mother Sensei Kim, who you called her during training.
Ever since that day, Kwon had neutral feelings over you, this slowly changed when he kept seeing you while you were training. Kwon was like a deer stuck in headlights every time you were training or sparring with the others. Over time Kwon got closer to you much to your mother’s dismay, she knew he was a troublemaker and didn't want that type of influence affecting her daughter.
Did that happen to stop Kwon? Not one bit Kwon only tried harder to get closer to you but you were always so engrossed in training, sparring, or studying. He finally happened to get close to you, only a little bit. Kwon soon became a close friend of yours and he couldn't help but gloat about how he had Sensei Kim's daughter as his friend. Kwon started liking you even more than previously, what had been a tiny crush became someone he wanted to kiss or hold. He was falling hard for you and everyone started noticing it, how Kwon was like a puppy when you were near, especially those lovesick eyes he gave you.
When Kwon had come over to your house, only because he had claimed that he needed “help” with some training (he just wanted to be with you). He had noticed a couple of plushies on your bed, and he didn’t expect you to be a girl who was still sleeping with plushies, (he immediately went to go buy you a plushie after he had left) Kwon had bought you a cat plushie it was a bit big but you didn’t mind and thanked him, so every night you’d now fall asleep with the plushie in your arms.
So slowly Kwon got closer to you and he knew if he didn't say something soon those idiots from karate would. However, Kwon’s plan was interrupted when Sensei Kreese came and told him to prove that was the best fighter in the class and steal Yoon’s spot. It was even worse after Tory came and stole your spot as captain in the Sekai Taikai did you mind? Yes but at least you were still chosen as part of the team going.
Your mother also warmed up to Kwon, she noticed that he wasn't as bad as before now that he was spending time with you. At the tournament, after he had won the rooms from Robby, he immediately went to you and told you about his win.
“Hey! Look what I got!” Kwon yelled to you as you were walking around.
“Kwon? What happened?” You asked him wondering why he seemed so happy.
“Guess what” Kwon asked with a smug look on his face and boy you knew he was doing something he wasn’t supposed to.
“What did you do, Kwon.” You asked, already getting a bit upset, fearing he’d done something horrible.
“I challenged Miyagi-Do and the prize was some rooms and I won. Like it was so easy.” He said trying to seem confident though he was nervous.
“Kwon, why are you doing this? Just leave them alone, where it matters most is on the mat. You were secretly a bit happy he had challenged them and won.
“But I wanted to ask uhm do you wanna share the room? So you know you don’t have to share with anyone else but me?” He asked, the fact he was nervous became more obvious but you are oblivious to that.
“Yeah, but I’m still upset about your little challenge.”
You were happy to have a bed to yourself even if Kwon was staying in the bedroom with you. Kwon on the other hand was delighted that you said yes to his offer.
Did Kwon get any sleep that night? The answer was barely because he was staring at the peaceful expression you had on while you slept. Kwon knew that he'd have to tell you about his feelings for you, though he didn't want to. He was going to tell you after Cobra Kai won the Sekai Taikai…

Happy Ending
Tumblr media
It was almost the end of the Sekai Taikai and fortunately for Cobra Kai, they won. Kwon was satisfied with the results and couldn't help but immediately run to you after his win and he whisked you away somewhere private.
“I need to tell you something.” He said, his palms were all sweaty and his heart was pounding.
“Oh, what is it? You did something you weren’t supposed to before your match?” You asked, you knew Kwon and you wanted to see if he’d say yes.
“No, it’s not that. I didn’t do anything wrong before the match.” He said to you, he was completely honest about his answer.
“Okay, then what is it?” You asked, now curious about what he needed to tell you.
“I like you and I have for a while. Do you feel the same?” He asked, his heart was pounding and he was sure you could hear it with how silent you both were at the moment.
“Kwon, I’m so surprised you admitted it first, you realize I was going to tell you tonight?” You said to him, you were giggling and pleased that he did it first because you were so scared he didn't like you at all.
“This is so unfair, you like me too?” Kwon seemed a bit pissed but he wasn't.
“Yeah, I do.” You kissed his cheek and ruffled his always messy hair.
He looked away from your face knowing he couldn't look at you or else his knees would buckle from your looks alone.
“I'm so glad we won.” You said, your arms wrapping around him as you pulled him into your embrace, hugging him.
“Me too. I like you a lot, sweet girl.” For you, Kwon was all yours to keep.
Tumblr media
Bad Endjng
Tumblr media
You looked around as every single Dojo was fighting with each other. You were fighting and helping Kwon as much as you could but you saw him get hurt by Axel. Some other girl had dragged you away to fight. You looked as he grabbed onto the eunjando from the floor, you knew he was going to attack Axel but at the moment you were fighting another girl and couldn't get to him in time.
You heard the bloodcurdling scream Kwon let out, and you prayed to any higher being that existed that when Sensei Daniel turned him he'd be okay. You were so wrong. Blood was pooling at the side of Kwon, and once he was turned onto his back the eunjangdo was there in his chest. You stood there frozen as tears fell down your cheeks.
Something you had been planning to do was tell Kwon you liked him. Though, now you would never be able to tell him you had liked him. After all, you had endured with him, this was surely not how he died, right?

A/N: I am not writing any smut bc I don't know Kwon age and also bc I'm not comfortable writing smut for this character

confessing —
pairing: robby keene x reader
warning: nothing, just something cute.
includes: robby confessing his love.
note: thinking of releasing a robby obscenity, perhaps?
words counted: 1.200
playlist for the fic: spotify | again, excuse the bad english! english isn't my first language :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the back of the dojo, Robby paced restlessly, his right hand stroking his chin in a visibly failed attempt to calm his nerves.
He was still wearing a kimono, with messy hair and bandages on his eyebrows. The black highlighted his muscles, which had been worked in the fight, while the yellow of the coat of arms highlighted his hair, which was as shiny as that of a certain princess when she sang.
"Damn, damn, damn" — he repeated to himself as he walked around. Across the mat.
Sam laughed at the whole situation, finding it adorable how his friend acted under the effects of love, even though she was in the same happy situation. She was clinging to Miguel, one of his current best friends, the same one who helped Robby choose the rings he would give to the girl he was going to declare his love to at the end of the day, since Diaz, having been raised only by his mother, had a certain notion of what girls liked.
The girl took classes at night, the only time allowed by the sensei, who said that they would be simple classes, below beginner level, because according to him, "the girls didn't have any aptitude". Pathetic.
The boys never denied having a certain hatred towards Kreese's idiotic and ill-thought-out speeches, always making a point of covering their ears, humming or even running to the bathroom when the oldest began his speeches.
"Relax, you idiot!" — Diaz threw one of the foam bricks in his direction, hitting Robby's already bruised face. "She already said she loved you."
"I know, I... Ah." — he turned his body and threw himself on the floor, looking at a random stain on the ceiling of the dojo. "She said she loved me and I ran away like a coward."
"You're afraid of women." — Sam said ironically, looking at Miguel.
The blond couldn't stop laughing, escaping a little from the nervousness that was consuming him internally, leaving aside the hands that seemed to crawl like slugs.
The clock rang. It was on time. The students began to enter the dojo, while Kreese rolled his eyes in boredom and contempt, leaving the place as fast as a sprinter, making way for the night teachers, Miguel and Robby.
"Okay girls, let's warm up first, walk in circles around the dojo, then run, alternating between slow and fast." — Diaz took the lead, seeing that his friend was busy drying the newbie still confused on how to put on her belt.
Adorable.
The whole class had been hectic, as the girls had blood in their eyes, and as recent professionals, they could say that not even the most experienced boys fought dirty like the girls. In a good way, perhaps.
"Hey!" — Robby ran, almost tripping over his own feet due to fatigue. "I need to, yeah..." — He cleared his throat, looking for the words he would use, the right words so that he wouldn't come out automatically and end up saying more than he should, more or less than he feels.
"Talking to you, seriously, I need to tell you something."
She laughed. Robby's world seemed to fall apart, not in a tragic way as it seemed. She laughed tenderly, gracefully like one of the beautiful flowers in the school garden, the ones Robby steals every morning, hoping to give them to his beloved, always giving up a second before. His world fell apart, fell apart when he realized that no words would be enough to show enough.
A tightness invaded his chest, leaving him desolate for a few seconds, to the point that the girl needed to call him, say his name several times, something that gave him a certain feeling of being in heaven next to an angel, due to such a melody.
"Sweet?" — There. That speech was the one that no longer allowed Robby to hold his tongue, no longer paying attention to automatic, he just spoke and spoke, as if tomorrow no longer existed.
"I love you. And, and it hurts me every single day, the way I ran away like a coward, the regret of not having pulled you by the arms and kissed every little detail that I love so much about you, which perhaps would have been impossible, since I don't just love your exterior, but also your interior, this wonderful woman that you are, your personality, your grace and tenderness, fuck, I don't even like swear words, what did I say? But, hell, you're the woman I want to be with."
The fighter remained silent, leaving the blond distressed, breathing irregularly and sweating visibly. He was as cold as an ice cube. Daniel, who was watching through the window of the small room, could have sworn that his friend was about to faint, Johnny and he were already preparing to run in case something really happened to the boy.
"I hate you, you know?" — Finally something came out of her mouth, surprising him, not in a positive way.
"Did I do it too late? That, I mean, declare myself?"
"Yes." — He sighed, throwing his body against the other's.
Robby was confused again, what was she doing? "But I love you, I love you so much that I can't say exactly what goes on in my chest and my head, they constantly fight with me."
They both laughed, still hugging each other, enjoying the short time they had together.
"You can do what you want."
"What did I want?" — She smiled, amused by the boy's short memory, taking the lead in the action that Robby had been waiting so long to do.
The fighter put her arms around the other's neck, carefully caressing the nape of her current love's neck. The caress soon went from a simple demonstration of what was about to happen, their lips collided, the movements became loose, both guided, a beautiful fit, there were no misunderstandings, or fight for command. As I said, a fit, the perfect fit.
"I love you, Robby."
"I love you too, my princess."
I'm very happy that you enjoyed my previous fanfic! That really makes me very motivated. Oh, and I place orders! :)

Johnny, Robby, and the "family" (s6 part 2)
Well, gotta say, I'm perplexed by s6 part 2. It seems like the writers are still just building out the story---or moreso, dragging it out---until the resolutions. Part 2 has left me with the curiosity of how Johnny and Robby's story will be resolved.
Since watching s1 and until watching s5, I'd wanted to see Johnny and Robby build a relationship onscreen. I know that's not going to happen now. There's just no screentime for it, if it were to happen. And, frankly, it's not something I care to see anymore because Johnny just doesn't deserve to keep Robby in his life anymore, especially since s5e1. I'm a huge believer in people (especially parents) treating other people (especially their own kids) right and showing them that they have value as a person. But, Johnny has never truly or openly shown Robby that he has value---though we're still being given hints that Johnny does love Robby. s5 escalated the abandonment and neglect to outright abuse (emotional, psychological, and physical), and I'm just not here for that and find Johnny irredeemable since s5 (whereas before I was open to his redemption).
I was also really sure that Johnny and Robby only would be endgame. In a way, this is still possible, though it would be dissatisfying regardless of how they do it now. (I'll touch on this later in the post.) After watching part 2, though, I'm really wondering if Johnny and Robby were ever meant to be an endgame at all.

Johnny and Miguel's conversations on the plane (s6e8)
I think it's interesting that this episode is called "Snakes on a plane". Only two of the characters were shown on a plane: Johnny and Miguel. So maybe this is an acknowledgement that they are still Cobras. Which, let's face it, they are. Joining Migagi-Do simply doesn't erase all the things they haven't taken accountability for or the fact that these two are still their version of Cobra Kai. I've also said before that Johnny's relationship with Miguel is part of Kreese's Cobra Kai legacy.
Their two conversations are quite interesting. The first is Miguel throwing Johnny's confession to Miguel in their s2e3 conversation back in Johnny's face. This is not surprising behavior from Miguel. Moreover, this situation has a similar context to that s2e3 scene: Miguel performed well in a tournament but Johnny was distracted or not happy because of Robby.
Tumblr media
Miguel: "You were disregarding me all tournament. And you're making things worse right now. You'll probably make things worse at the hospital too. Like drinking in the parking lot when Robby was born. No wonder Robby's so messed up." Johnny: "Hey, man, that's a low blow. Don't bring Robby into this. I know you're upset you didn't get captain, but he won that fair and square. It's not my fault you choked." The flight attendant then came and asked Miguel if Johnny was bothering him (cause Johnny almost got into it with a first class "Johnny"-like passenger earlier) and if Miguel would like to change seats. Miguel said yes.
This really was a low blow. Johnny also hadn't done anything wrong to Miguel. Miguel is just controlling and entitled over Johnny's attention: how dare Johnny not pay attention to him only, despite how poorly the team was performing overall. I'm going to say it cause it is what it is. This is abusive to Johnny. Miguel brings up Johnny's failures with Robby and then insults Robby, calling him messed up because of those failures. Miguel wasn't just attacking Johnny. Miguel was also attacking Robby to attack Johnny. Using Johnny's weakness (Robby) and secrets against him and then cold shouldering him like that because Miguel's pissed at him for not running after him is a manipulation / abuse tactic. Codependent relationships are dysfunctional. Miguel can abuse Johnny as much as he wants, and Johnny will do what be can to appease Miguel, after Johnny's instinctual reactions.
This led into their next conversation:
Johnny: "I'm sorry I wasn't there for you more in Barcelona, all right. I saw you killing it out there, I didn't think you needed my support as much as Robby. He doesn't have what you have. He's not going to college next year. Sekai Taikai is the biggest thing he's got going for him. But I see how that made you feel. You're my son too. As for your mom, I'm really scared. I love her so much. I've tried my best to get myself together, be a good guy. Things like this happen, and it feels like I could lose everything all over again. The truth is, I don't know if she's gonna be okay. But, I can't think of the alternative. Alright?"
The fact that Miguel knows that Johnny abandoned Robby, has used that against Robby (school fight), and even used that against Johnny just earlier on the plane, but Miguel still wants to make sure that he is given what Robby has never gotten properly from Johnny is so entitled of Miguel and so on par for him. Miguel knows that Robby still doesn't get this from Johnny. I mean, Miguel is literally upset that he himself is not the center of Johnny's universe.
Miguel is not entitled to Johnny as a father, especially not over Robby,---no matter what!
Tumblr media
This is like on prom night. Johnny expressed wanting to be a father to Robby. Johnny was literally piss drunk, and Miguel had scraped him off the floor. Look at the state of Johnny... and Miguel broke down and held this moment against Johnny? Seriously? Miguel trusted Johnny again, only after the apartment fight because Johnny let Miguel beat up Robby. Miguel hadn't even trusted Johnny after he had come down to Mexico to rescue Miguel. Miguel told Hawk and Demetri, after they got back from Mexico, that he's not going to let Robby being with Johnny get to him. Well... here we are again. Miguel is being his typical narcissistic asshole self to both Robby and Johnny because of Miguel's insecurity and entitlement wrt Robby being Johnny's son.
Johnny and Miguel's exchanges on the plane are a pattern that show how Johnny stays trapped in this relationship with Miguel at Robby's expense.
To me, the fact that these scenes fit so well with these other Johnny and Miguel scenes is incredibly interesting. Cause to me the question is why?
Why keep including these scenes if everything is "resolved" for the Johnny-Robby-Miguel situation, as many fans claim everything is?
Tumblr media
Johnny and Miguel's conversations about their relationship status as "Father/Son" or "Student/Sensei" always revolve around Johnny's relationship with Robby, since Miguel found out that Johnny is Robby's father in s2e2/3. Even in s4e7, Miguel himself brought up Johnny's relationship with Robby when Johnny talked about not knowing how to be a father. In these conversations, including the s6e8 one, Johnny consoled Miguel, and himself, that Johnny will do better with Miguel, with it implied that Johnny will not do better with Robby.
Even now, Miguel is still stewing inside that Robby is Johnny's "real" son, and Miguel continues to take this out on both Johnny and Robby whenever Miguel feels insecure about it.
Part 2 has me still saying what I've been saying all along:
Why do the writers keep including scenes like this if this "family" is meant to last or if Johnny is already redeemed for failing Robby... while never actually giving us meaningful conversations between Johnny and Robby that explore their issues without Johnny being an emotionally immature asshole about it all?
Their conversation in s4e10 went seemingly well because Robby was blaming himself for screwing everything up and was not blaming Johnny for anything. When Johnny took blame on himself, it did mean something but it was about Robby's relationship with Daniel falling apart because of Johnny and not about their own lack of a relationship because of Johnny. And then, what happened right after that? Miguel ran off to Mexico, and Johnny psychologically and emotionally abused Robby, even abandoning him again (at a random bus stop in Mexico), in an extreme effort to get Miguel back.
Here, on the plane, Johnny did so much to try to talk to Miguel after Miguel ditched him for another seat. Yet, Johnny has never tried to talk to Robby and fix things with him in this way. Remember, in Mexico, Johnny literally dumped Robby at a random bus stop and went off after Miguel, instead of fixing things with Robby properly. This was also after Johnny had tricked, kidnapped, lied to, gaslit, and guilted Robby. In s5e8, Johnny got annoyed with Robby's fatherly advice comment and dismissed it. Back in s3, Johnny only went to the soup kitchen to talk to Robby because Bobby refused to apologize to Robby for Johnny. Johnny had no intention of going himself if Bobby had apologized for him. Johnny also never went back to try to fix things with Robby. Overall, Johnny never puts this amount of effort in to fix things with/for Robby. This has been consistent throughout the story.
This is all why I'm not mincing words in this post. Johnny and Miguel have a dysfunctional relationship in which Miguel has gaslit and guilted Johnny, that is manipulated him, before. Miguel's behavior with Johnny wrt Johnny not running after him all the time is inexcusable, regardless of the circumstance. Miguel is 17/18 now. Let's take off the kid gloves. He's becoming a grown ass man. According to many fans, Robby has to suck it up and let go of all the legitimate lifetime of trauma he has due to Johnny (which Robby actually does still need therapy for). Well, Miguel must suck it up and not feel entitled over Johnny like this because, frankly, Miguel's feelings of entitlement are his own problem. They're not Johnny's problem, nor Robby's problem. Meanwhile, making amends to Robby directly for failing him is Johnny's problem. A problem that Johnny has yet to solve and may never solve because he's too busy running after the Diazs---his "do over" family.
Like I've said before, the Diazs and the baby are plot devices meant to distract Johnny from his actual goal of making amends with Robby.
Tumblr media
Johnny to Miguel in s4e7: "I took all that bullshit I felt from them, and I put that on Robby's life. I can never fix that. I don't want to make that mistake again." Of course, Johnny's talking about never making that mistake again by doing things right with Miguel because Johnny believes he can't fix anything with/for Robby. The Diazs have always been a "do-over" family for Johnny. Their purpose is not genuine but is for Johnny to use them to feel better for his past and present failures with Robby. This is all in the writing. Hence, Johnny's words in s6e8 as well: "I've tried my best to get myself together, be a good guy. Things like this happen, and it feels like I could lose everything all over again." Just like how, when he risked his own life for no reason at all in s5e10, he was also focused on everything he himself would lose.
Johnny's "do-over" "family"
Tumblr media
Now, one thing that stuck out to me was that really important family stuff was going on, and Robby wasn't included. In fact, Robby was left behind, and he actually drank for the first time (which is... smh... another post that needs to be made). But, it really sticks out that, like the scenes in s6e5 where Johnny and Carmen feel the baby kicking and then Miguel comes in with his Stanford deferment news, Robby's not there.
The writers purposely exclude Robby from these heartfelt scenes of the family. In this episode, like in s6e5, both the baby plot device and Miguel got focus, but not Robby. Interesting... like in Carmen's dream in s5e4...
When Daniel found Johnny packing, Johnny told Daniel that he told Miguel but made no mention of Robby, and told Daniel to tell the others. Johnny seemed to have left Robby out. Later, when Robby asked Sam if she'd spoken to Miguel before he left, it made me wonder if Miguel had spoken to him either. It's possible that neither Johnny nor Miguel spoke to him before they left.
And when Carmen commented that the baby's big brother will win the world tournament, she only says "brother" singular. Yes, she's talking about Miguel, who is in the room, but this baby has two brothers competing in the tournament. Miguel is also not the brother who is the captain and would be competing in the final rounds.
Robby's existence was excluded from this situation completely.
This is one of many reasons I'm still saying that the whole blended "family" isn't meant to last. It will either be Johnny and Robby only in the end, because Johnny relationships with the Diazs are not healthy and are intentionally and explicitly built/written at Robby's expense. Or, it will be that Johnny and Robby won't have a relationship in the end and Johnny will live "happily", dysfunctionally ever after with the Diazs.
(Sidebar - It can actually be Johnny and Robby only in the end because this show has had its dark moments, and most recently Kwon died in front of everyone in a horrific way. And, the setup for something happening to the baby plot device (and maybe Carmen as well) is now there. I'm not saying I want this. I don't, for sure. I think if they go this route than they truly shouldn't have included the baby plot device at all. But given a lot of their decisions so far, they don't care about taking the moral or socially-acceptable approach to portraying serious topics---for example, intentionally framing Johnny's neglect and abuse of Robby, which benefits the Diazs, as wholesome and sympathetic is one of those things. At this point, I'd like to see no Johnny-Robby relationship in the end. Leave Johnny in his toxic relationships with the Diazs for all I care (though I do feel bad for Johnny cause he doesn't deserve to be stuck in dysfunctional relationships either) but get Robby away from these toxic people. That is how I want this story to go now.)
Anyway, leaving Robby out of these important family scenes, while also never giving him a scene with Johnny and Carmen in which they are, specifically Johnny is, focused on Robby's issues in a meaningful way is quite telling. The essay scene in s6e2 included Robby, but Robby was there (1) to point out that he was still being scapegoated for the school fight while the whole "family", including Johnny, were still going along with that, and (2) for Johnny to dismiss Robby after Robby brought up his struggles for his future. Then, a literal waterfall of shit rained down on Miguel's essay and this false "family".
Again, this all shows that Robby's place in the family is essentially non-existent. I mean, is it even surprising?
This "family" situation is meant to be another trauma that Johnny inflicts onto Robby.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at how the family was put together, or more specifically, how Robby was beaten into place by Johnny and Miguel, and then blinded-sided into people-pleasing because of the baby news. He's not a genuine part of this family, nor is he supposed to feel like he is, just like he's not being his genuine himself since that news.
In fact, I thought it was interesting that, in the locker room in s6e9, when Miguel said, "We're a family. All of us", Robby had a thoughtful expression and then stood and said, "Who are we?" and all the kids all said, "Miyagi-Do!"
Robby's family and home have always been Miyagi-Do.
Maybe this is one of a few reasons why he wasn't one of the "snakes on a plane".
Robby and Miguel
This "friendship" / "brotherhood" is one-sided. Keeping in mind that Miguel has never taken accountability with Robby and keeping in mind all of Miguel's other behavior towards Robby so far, nothing about Miguel's behavior in part 2 was surprising.
At first, Miguel's being a whiny bitch because he didn't get the captain spot and then Johnny was "disregarding him". He and everyone were blaming Robby and were upset with Robby for not having focus, even though he wasn't the only one doing poorly. Way to not be a supportive "friend" or "brother" but to be an unsupportive bully and asshole instead.
Then, after tearing Robby down, Miguel was only supportive of him after two things happened. That is, for two reasons: (1) Miguel got Johnny's confirmation again that Miguel will be Johnny's priority. Miguel was upset because he wasn't getting Johnny's attention the way he wanted---as his "son". So, as long as he got more attention than Robby, who actually does need Johnny's attention way more, Miguel was now happy with Johnny and hence happy with Robby. (2) Carmen made Miguel promise to win.
Miguel only became supportive of Robby after Johnny chose Miguel over Robby again. And the fact that he called Robby "messed up: shows Miguel's true feelings about Robby.
Miguel had called Robby "messed up" for no reason at all other than jealousy, just like Miguel had felt entitled to break Robby's arm for no reason at all in the school fight after Miguel attacked Robby for no reason other than jealousy.
Robby is still a punching bag for Miguel if not physically then verbally, and even when Robby's not present.
Again, this is all par for the course for Miguel. I'm not seeing anything different that hasn't always been there this whole time.
All of their history and Miguel's behavior up until s6e8 is why I doubt the intentions behind Miguel's "peptalk" with Robby in s6e9. Miguel wanted to win. He'd promised Carmen they would, so Miguel was now doing the opposite of what he had done before. Now he was supporting and telling him what he needed to hear in order for them to win.
In part 2, another rivalry was resolved in which both parties acknowledged their wrongs. In fact, Anthony even drank a laxative to make it up to Kenny and prove that he was truly sorry for what he had done in the past and for starting things, even though he hadn't been the one to put the laxative in Kenny's water.
In contrast, Miguel has never taken accountability with Robby for their rivalry that Miguel had started. Instead, even now, Miguel made sure that he is still Johnny's number one before Miguel started to support Robby again after (1) Miguel was bullying Robby for not having focus, and (2) insulting Robby as a way to attack Johnny.
The Johnny-loves-Robby hints
So, every season, there are hints, or I guess seeds, of Johnny's love for Robby.
Johnny is not codependent in his relationship with Robby, so Robby doesn't get the open "love" and "caring" that Miguel and Carmen get from Johnny.
This is really important to understand about Johnny's behavior/relationship with Robby.
Throughout part 2, we were shown the same hints of love that Johnny has for Robby, although they get no screentime together and Johnny has yet to makes amends and prove to Robby that Johnny is truly remorseful for what he has done to him. Johnny is still avoidant in this regard.
Although, to Robby, Johnny denied Robby's reality about his future, Johnny told Miguel that the tournament is all that Robby has for his future because he's not going to college. Again, Johnny's lack of actually trying to help Robby outside of training him for the tournament is glaring. He doesn't help Robby find alternatives to karate and also tells Robby a lie about his future prospects---it's a lie because Johnny himself doesn't believe that Robby has a future, not that this is actually true. Again, Robby just needs an adult to be there for him and to truly help him, which he doesn't have. For himself even, Johnny sees the tournament as his big shot. Also, in s6e6, at the sponsor's table, when the sponsor mentioned that winning dojos and champions are taken care of, Johnny asked "Like paying for college." He was very likely thinking about Miguel. Johnny doesn't believe that Robby can go to college, and in s6e2, Carmen told Johnny that he essentially needs to help pay for Miguel's college.
In the locker room in s6e7, Johnny's speech was a projection of his own failures onto the kids' possible futures. It's interesting that, as the kids walked out, Robby was the last one to leave. Johnny stepped towards Robby and said his name, but Robby said "Sorry, Dad" and left too. This was the closest we got to seeing Johnny try to have a conversation with Robby.
At least, we got a moment of Johnny defending Robby's win to Miguel, calling it fair and square.
Johnny also told Miguel to leave Robby out of their issues. At least that was Johnny's immediate reaction to Miguel's verbal attack on Robby. Later, after Miguel cold-shouldered Johnny, Johnny basically did put his relationship with Miguel above his relationship with Robby again. Also, although Johnny called Miguel "my son too", Johnny has been treating Miguel like more than his son, whereas Johnny still treats Robby like a stranger or a random student, for the most part.
Johnny is incapable of healthy relationships. He's caught between two extremes: He's codependent with the Diazs, while he neglects and abuses Robby. These relationships also aren't independent of each other. Johnny is still choosing Miguel/Diazs over Robby, as part 2 continues to show.
Regardless, Robby is and will always be an issue that Miguel has with Johnny in their relationship. Robby will always be an issue in their relationship, in general. Johnny uses Miguel to make up for his failures with Robby, and Miguel feels that he is more entitled to Johnny than Robby is.
Johnny did hug Robby after Robby's win against Kwon, which also knocked the Cobras out of the tournament (temporarily). So that was nice to see. But, it was just so quick and related to the tournament, so it wasn't a real focus, unlike Johnny's conversations with Miguel and Devon had been---Johnny's do-over kids.
During the brawl, Johnny frantically trying to get to Robby was something to note. Johnny wasn't able to get to him though.
There were also two small moments before this though that also stood out to me:
In s6e10, when Chozen said to Daniel and Johnny that Sam and Robby need their senseis and need their fathers, Johnny's expression was one of worry or self-reflection.
Tumblr media
Johnny keeps failing to be there for Robby as he needs.
In fact, Johnny's not ready for this baby plot device either. When Carmen said that she's [the baby's] so luck to have him as a dad, he had the same reaction.
Tumblr media
This was just a few hours after Miguel had called Robby "messed up" because of Johnny's behavior. Carmen and Miguel are aware of Johnny's flaws, yet never encourage him to get better.
At the baby shower in s6e3, just minutes before Carmen told Johnny that she can't wait for his daughter to meet him, Daniel commented to Johnny that he never only has one drink.
They all know Johnny's an alcoholic.
Johnny tells Miguel in s6e8, "I've tried my best to get myself together, be a good guy." This is simply not true. He doesn't want to improve a lot of his behaviors, his drinking being one of those things.
Sadly, in this episode Robby drank and got drunk for the first time, and he messed up (at least that's how he and Tory talked about it, though his conscious decisions that night beyond his decision to drink are unclear). It's so telling that Miguel literally commented about Johnny messing up things, including Robby, because of his alcoholism, and in this same episode, Robby had his first drink to cope with his problems. Robby's goal is to not become like Johnny, and this first drink is sadly a step down a path to become like Johnny. (Robby's part 2 stuff is definitely getting it's own post.)
The writers have made this Johnny-Robby-Diaz situation an "either/or" situation this whole time, and this situation is meant to cause Robby more trauma. They literally set up Johnny's decision in s1e4 as a "do over". All of Johnny and Miguel's heartfelt conversations about their own relationship are in the context of Johnny's failures with Robby, Miguel's belief in his entitlement of Johnny over Robby's, and Johnny using Miguel to feel better about his own failures with Robby. In s5, Johnny talked about the baby only in terms of Johnny's failures with Robby. Robby is treated in the writing as not a member of this "family", which given the circumstances in which he was forced into it, is telling.
I wonder what will happen between Johnny and Robby now. Like I said, I'd always believed that Johnny and Robby only would be endgame, but after part 2, I'm wondering if Johnny and Robby are meant to be endgame at all. Regardless, there is no setup that genuinely includes Robby in Johnny's "do-over" "family". Given all the setup, no ending for Johnny and Robby's relationship will be satisfying. I just hope that, by the end of the story, Robby is no longer stuck in this abusive situation.
Overall, I get people being upset about the story. I am too. But, I also see so much nuance in the story that I wonder where all this will lead. (Billy's answer to this interview question (at 4:36) is also interesting. While, Tanner's answer in this other interview (at 2:00) is interesting as well, though I don't like Tanner's lack of compassion for Robby. Maybe Tanner doesn't get that in canon Johnny hasn't changed his behavior with Robby.)
(As always, please don't comment or reblog with dismissive comments about the nuance in the story. The nuance is part of the story, and the story is exploring important topics like trauma, bullying, neglect, and dysfunctional relationships.)

Johnny and Miguel made their way through the skatepark. They had just gotten back from the school as they were trying to find girls for the karate tournament. They needed this actually Johnny needed this.
If they couldn’t find girl(s) to join their dojo or else they would be in deep shit and not be in the tournament at all. Miguel didn’t want that, he wanted to compete as he was the all valley champion the year before. He also wanted it to get rid of Cobra Kai since they were getting bigger with Silver coming in.
Since Johnny and Daniel made that deal with Silver and Kreese that if Cobra Kai won they would have to shut down both of their dojos. Miguel didn’t want that for Johnny or for his training. He still had a lot of things to learn even though he was the champ.
At least that is what Johnny told him.
“Sensei I just don’t get why we are in a skatepark,” Miguel questioned as they walked around people who were skating and giving them weird looks.
Probably because they weren’t skating and just walking around. Probably thought they were weirdos.
“Skating is badass and people who do that are already used to pain so if I could find a girl that’s here and is willing to hear me out we could find our girl champ,” Johnny explained as he looked around to find any girls.
“What does skating have to do with karate? They’re not the same thing,” Miguel asks, putting his hands into the pocket of his jacket.
“They aren’t but these people they do tricks and like I said before they know what pain is, so that means karate won’t be anything different,” Johnny says.
“There’s not any fighting in skating Sensei,” Miguel says.
“There was back in my day, these people can be crazy sometimes and that is exactly what I need for the girl champ,” Johnny scoffs.
“Hey guys watch out,” Y/N shouts as she comes in skating behind him but before they could do anything she ran into Miguel knocking the both of them down. “Great,” She mutters as she was on top of the boy.
She steadied her hands as she got up and held her hand out for Miguel. He blushed when he realized who it was. She was in his math class and once had a crush on her when he wasn’t with Sam or Tory. He grabbed and got up as well.
“Sorry about that but you guys should know at a skate park you should be skating,” Y/N explains as she points to her feet where she was wearing roller blades.
Before Miguel could say anything Johnny butt in.
“Hey shouldn't you be wearing a helmet, elbow pads, all that kind of stuff,” Johnny asks as he holds the flyers for his dojo.
“I don’t need them. I've been doing this for years and if I get hurt I just get back into the game,” Y/N explains as she looks at the middle aged man. “Wait, who are you?,” She questions before looking at Miguel. “I know him, I don't know you.”
“Have you ever thought about trying out for karate not only would it make you more badass, you can actually learn how to defend yourself,” Johnny tries to sell with a smile on his face.
“I don’t know, I really don’t feel like getting my ass kicked by a bunch of dudes from my high school,” Y/N explained as she kept herself steady on the pavement.
“We need more badass chicks in this world and I am willing to teach you how to be that,” Johnny explains but still sees a tentative look on her face. “Okay it can also get you into shape like Miguel here come on Miguel take your shirt off and show her all the progress you made,” He says using his last attempt.
“What,” Y/N says in shock.
“I am not doing that, Sensei,” Miguel says at the same time as her.
“I mean it wouldn’t be a bad sight to look at,” Y/N teases looking at Miguel as he feels himself get more shy. “But don’t worry I don’t need you doing that,” She says and gives him a little smile.
“Are you willing to try your hand at karate then,” Johnny interrupts as he feels himself start to get more and more annoyed.
“And this I won’t have to do some weird fight to do this because right now I can’t do that,” Y/N questions.
“Of course not, he teaches you how to fight and defend yourself,” Miguel reassures her, giving her arm a squeeze as she gives him a tiny smile, her heart beating faster and faster.
“Who knows you might be this year's all valley champion and that’s something you’d like right,” Johnny asks.
“It does sound good and I would like to learn how to defend myself, there are some weirdos in this world,” Y/N says before looking at Johnny. “Sure, I’ll come by tomorrow but just take it easy on me,” She says.
“No promises,” Johnny grins as he gives her the flier. “Tomorrow at 4,” He says. She nods as she skates a way.
“See you in school tomorrow,” Miguel awkwardly shouts, making her turn around and give him a smile and two thumbs up.
“You could try hiding the fact that you like her,” Johnny mutters as he felt more confident on how they could win.
“Was I that obvious,” Miguel asks as he feels embarrassed.
“You want the truth or the lie.”
“Truth.”
“Anyone in a 10 mile radius could see that you liked her.”

Note
You have a point! The fight totally wouldn't happen! Along with that, Demetri also wouldn't out Eli's medical issue. Like a ton of shit would be avoided if they all decided to chill out lol
I also love how well you know Yasmine! I definitely think she'd gravitate towards the "ew" perspective of pregnancy LOL but also I can see her telling Kyler to go die if he's ever mean to the sweet pregnant girl again 😭 Yasmine and Moon would definitely spoil that baby though, and who wouldn't? She'd have big blue eyes and gorgeous brown curls 🥹
I wonder how the CK people would find their way from Kreese & Silver this time, though? Maybe Aisha, Sam, and Reader find their way back to being friends again and she brings Tory around bc everyone very highkey wants to see the baby??
I think Tory, without all that romantic jealousy, would be really open to a more peaceful perspective. Like she see's Sam and is PISSED but then she notices that Sam and Robby are completely infatuated with each other, and ofc Miguel has been over her for months. And also there is just a cute baby being handed around, so she can't be all that mad??
Maybe she meets the LaRusso family and sees how kind they are- maybe she's complaining about her shithole job and Mr. LaRusso decides to give her a nice paying internship (because he's trying to be better with second chances and he can tell that she really needs it) and Aisha and Tory kind of usher in this change for the rest of the Cobras?
Ugh I love slice of life where everything goes well LOL sorry 🫶🏽
Thank you for letting me think about this for so long :) - 🌼
Sorry this took a few days to get to. I've not been sleeping well. But omg this is amazing. I still absolutely love this and you make so many great points. Also, I couldn't think of a name for the baby, so she's lovingly referred to as Babygirl so y'all came fill in with whatever name ya want 💗
All the things that wouldn't happen would mean the whole trajectory of the show would change up a bit. However, I think Kreese would still be a manipulative shit and manage to keep ahold of Miguel, Tory, and the other Cobras for a while. Aisha, not so much but she stays in CK but just doesn't take a lot of Kreese's lessons to heart.
While Reader and Eli aren't in school, getting used to having a newborn around and such, the karate drama has some time to get bad. It would get bad. With Kreese instigating a lot from his end, the Cobras would start some bullshit with the Miyagi-Dos (the school rules wouldn't have been changed so there's a lot more freedom for stuff to just happen and it be played off as a joke or some karate practice). It's a hot mess.
Meanwhile, Reader and Eli are at home with their precious baby girl who is just too cute to even comprehend. Reader never wants to leave her side and Eli never wants to leave their side. It's so adorable, they're adorable. They are such a cute family.
The first few days, Daniel and Amanda rotated staying home with them to help out, especially since Reader literally just gave birth and needs to rest. However, over time, they leave the new family to figure things out on their own when both her parents have to go to work. Eli practically lives at the LaRusso house now because he'll be damned if he leaves his little family ever. He's so sad when he has to go back to school because why would he do that? Why does he have to do that? But ever the diligent student, Eli caves and goes to school, only to learn shit with Cobra Kai has gotten bad and in all honesty, he'd forgotten about the dojo war. Of course, he did, he has a new baby at home and a girlfriend who literally just gave birth. He has better things to worry about, but he doesn't mind putting some Cobra bullies in their place while he's at school.
Sam, Moon, and Yasmine love the baby. She's just too cute not to love. Yasmine won't hold her because she's probably never held a baby in her life and the thought terrifies her. She will buy so many cute outfits for the baby girl though. She's so happy it's a girl because she buys little dresses that she'll have to grow into and other little outfits. Yasmine also buys matching outfits for Reader and Babygirl to wear because that's "so cute." Moon buys all sorts of stuff, from toys to baby books about the environment. She probably helped design the nursery with Sam in all honesty. And Sam just wants to hold her niece as much as possible. She loves being an aunt and rocking the little one. She literally gets up in the middle of the night if Babygirl is crying to take care of her because she loves her so much and her sister needs some sleep.
And while those three definitely spoil the baby, Daniel outshines them in that category in all honesty. Sure, there are some leftover toys and furniture from when Sam, Reader, and Anthony were babies, but he goes all out and buys his first grandbaby new toys and a crib because he thinks she deserves it. He and Eli put the whole nursery together, asking himself why Sam and Moon were bossing them around and telling them where to put everything. He is hard-pressed to put Babygirl down when he holds her because "no one loves her more than grandpa." He was buying so much, Amanda had to sit him down and tell him so stop because this is insanity; they didn't even spend as much on their own kids when one of them was born. He pouts about it as he's put on a limit but is still thinking about the next thing he's going to buy his granddaughter.
When Reader returns to school with her newborn, she gets to see firsthand what a shit show it's become, at least when it comes to her sister and their friends. Everyone else is pretty chill. A ton of people wanna meet the baby and she's kind to them and talks to them about how their older siblings have kids or they have baby cousins. It's a warm welcome.
As she gets used to going to school with Babygirl, her friends are right by her side. Eli or Sam had done a lot of her schoolwork she was missing, going back to teach it to her when she wasn't feeding Babygirl or sleeping. But now she has to start doing things on her own again, not that those two still aren't trying to help her. She refuses their offers to do her homework for her because she really does have to do it on her own. So, they just help with whatever else they can, and the same goes for the rest of their friends. Demetri pitches in to explain anything Reader needs help with in a subject he's superb in; Robby takes on his uncle role at school and does whatever Reader needs (usually Robby just wants to carry the diaper bag because he's still getting used to the baby, he's also a little awkward around babies and young children); Yasmine is moral support while Moon will happily take Babygirl off Reader's hands during her free period.
Their attention is completely diverted from CK and they ignore the opposing dojo a lot better with Babygirl around. The Cobras take notice and kind of don't do anything at school or when Reader is around. To cause violence or spit volatile words at the group when there's a baby around kind of goes way past what some of them are willing to do. Unless you're an idiot like Kyler, who doesn't care who is around or why it's wrong, because he's always right in his opinion.
This is when Aisha would start to come around again and Reader and Sam are very receptive to her presence. Reader would be so excited to introduce her baby girl to her longtime friend. Aisha gets to hold her and tells her how awesome her mom is. It really helps their friendship, which Reader never thought of as broken, just lost. Sam is so excited, she's taking pictures of everything as it happens. She's gonna turn into her dad with scrapbooks and photo albums, I swear.
As they start hanging out more, Aisha gets a lot of questions from the Cobras, mostly Tory and Miguel. Tory doesn't want to seem so interested in whatever the other dojo is doing but she really doesn't have a reason to be mad. Miguel hasn't mentioned Sam or the others in months, so really all she has to be mad at Sam for is being uppity and accusing her of stealing, which is so far in the past now it's barely a memory to either of them. So they're watching from afar as their supposed rivals and former friends all fuss over this adorable little baby.
Aisha finally asks if they want her to ask if it's okay if they hangout with them one night because they're gonna have a study/movie night (something they do to help the new parents get through school and relax a little). Tory and Miguel aren't entirely sure but Aisha asks anyway. At first, the MDs are a little apprehensive, but Reader is all for it. She happily says, "Sure, why not? They don't seem all that bad."
Eli is on edge because this is his former best friend Miguel and his girlfriend Tory who swore to hate them. He sits beside Reader the whole night and barely gets anything done because he's so worried about this being some scheme of CK's to get back at them for just being a rival dojo. However, as the evening goes on, he relaxes as they don't say or do anything malicious or scheming. Miguel is gushing over the baby and Tory is laidback with a smile as she watches him melt into the sappy guy she knows he is (because in CK under Kreese, he'd be a tough guy with a hard exterior). It's a nice change of pace for everyone.
In the middle of their study session, Daniel and Amanda come home and meet Miguel and Tory. They recognize Miguel from the AVT but Tory is pretty much new to them. They're welcoming because even though they are Cobras, Daniel sees the look Sam is giving him while Reader is cooing at Babygirl. He knows better than to say something to either of them even though he doesn't want any part of Cobra Kai in his home (sans Johnny who is trying to rebuild his relationship with Robby, who refuses to live with him and is still sleeping in the home dojo). Amanda walks away saying she'll order pizza for everyone and it's a great night for everyone.
Tory blows off her homework in favor of complaining about work and hating her job. She's tired of her boss being a creep and at hearing this, Miguel gets super protective and looks so mean. His Cobra is showing but she tells him to calm down because he knows she can take care of himself. He's still a little mad though because he just doesn't like hearing that women get treated badly by creepy bosses, especially his girlfriend. Reader suggests finding another job but Tory explains that it's not that easy because everyone wants something different from her.
Daniel can't help but overhear the conversation but doesn't do anything about it that night. He lets the teens enjoy their movie and pizza after their homework, the first movie a kids movie for Babygirl before Reader puts her to sleep upstairs and then they watch a movie everyone wants to watch.
The next time Tory comes over, he offers her that internship with pay. He talked about it with his daughters first, asking their opinion and if they'd be okay if Tory came to work for him. They were okay with it and he offers the position to Tory, who takes it only after asking a ton of questions - like if Reader put him up to this. He explains that this was all him and that everyone deserves to have second chances, then adds in how Eli works for him half-time to build workplace experience and give him some money to put away for other expenses down the line. The next week, Tory is wearing a nice dress and working under Amanda only to realize she doesn't like it that much and asks to be put in the shop where she can actually do something (mechanic!Tory anyone?). Daniel doesn't mind going in and working on cars with her and it's actually really nice, and he promises her that if anyone is creepy toward her, he'd beat them up himself before firing them.
It wouldn't be long after that, Miguel and Tory leave Cobra Kai with Aisha. They would start to see some things that just weren't right, and especially hearing some stories about Kreese from Daniel and Johnny. They'd apologize to Johnny for not listening to him and thinking he didn't know what he was talking about. They probably take a step back from karate for a bit until Aisha suggests they all join Miyagi-Do. It would be a welcome change for the teens and they'd happily do it.
Behind all the slice-of-life cuteness and warmth, Kreese is still building up Cobra Kai to his image of former glory. He'll still have people like Kyler and loyal Cobras under his thumb, and use his manipulation to recruit more students and later Terry Silver. A baby can bring a lot of people together but he swears it won't stop him. So what if that baby girl took away his best students? If they were persuaded by a baby, then they weren't strong enough to be in Cobra Kai anyway. So, unfortunately, Babygirl won't be enough to stop this all-out karate war...

Season 6 Pt. 2 Kiaz Thoughts
Tumblr media
- Miguel wants to share a room with Robby so badly and they both looked so disappointed it didn’t work out
- Miguel’s “Robby’s gonna be fine” is like fifty percent jealousy over the insinuation that Robby would still have feelings for Tory and fifty percent thinking he can fix everything with sheer willpower
- I don’t mind Miguel being jealous of Robby being captain at all I think it’s pretty expected he would feel that way I just hope they don’t sacrifice his growth as a character for more petty drama
- Miguel having fully turned away from all the strike first bullshit he internalized at the beginning of the show and saying he doesn’t agree with it at all- I love growth
- Miguel being so worried about Robby over the challenge
- I so wish Robby had won the challenge with Kwon, he did so good and coming in second again is not going to be good for his confidence
- Miguel standing up for Robby in the hotel room after the challenge made me so happy, even though he’s clearly having feelings about the whole thing as well
- Miguel being so betrayed that Robby knew about Kreese and didn’t tell him, everything they’re doing is giving off boyfriend vibes
- I was happy to see Robby standing up for himself when Sam says he lied to them and saying that wasn’t a fair thing for her to say, I don’t think he would’ve done that in past seasons
- Robby looking to Miguel for support when everyone turns against him
- So annoyed we couldn’t get Kiaz sharing a bed
- Although Robby looking over at Miguel in the middle of the night all wistfully was almost as good
- Miguel paying enough attention to Robby to notice him leaving even in the middle of the night
- Okay why can Robby never get a fucking break, only on the first episode and he’s being crushed at every opportunity
- Miguel is salty about the rooms and probably even more so about sharing with Eli and not Robby
- Miguel wanting to keep Robby safe for the challenge but he’s also taking the lead over Robby, clearly he’s having feelings but it totally just coming off as jealousy about Tory even if it gets in everyone’s heads
- Miguel checking in on Robby mid fight
- Miguel is so worried about Robby and clearly notices that he’s not just lost a couple matches but isn’t fighting how he normally does at all
- Although he’s obviously jealous about both Tory and the captaincy as well I’m glad to get all these little moments with the two of them showing that their relationship has deepened so much
- It’s also not fair that Robby went into the tournament with everyone on his team wishing he wasn’t captain, obviously he’s struggling and feeling insecure and he knows that no one else would’ve wanted him in that position which is only going to make him more stressed
- Miguel is totally looking at Robby in that towel
- Casual physical affection, even in that awkward moment Robby sees Miguel is upset and tries to offer some support
- Robby is so affected by his emotions while fighting, every time he’s lost it’s been because he was ‘off balance’ emotionally and it’s sad to see him struggling so much again
- I’m definitely hoping Miguel is the one to give him the encouragement and confidence he needs to win but not sure if it’ll shake out that way right now
- Johnny projecting his trauma onto all of them is definitely not going to help Miguel or especially Robby who are so tangled up in his mess and have been hurt by him so many times already
- I actually liked that moment of Miguel telling Robby he should listen to his own advice, he’s pissed but he knows Robby is off balance and needs to fix it to win
- I’m really sad that one of the first scenes Robby and Miguel have ever shared where it was just the two of them had to be a fight but I’m glad they have the kind of relationship where they talk now even if things are rough they both have a point
- I do appreciate that Miguel is genuinely upset and not just trying to get the captaincy, I genuinely think he would be happy for and support Robby if he stepped up and really fought how Miguel knows he’s capable of (even if he’s still disappointed)
- On that note I also think Miguel knows Robby well enough to know that’s not actually going to do anything for Robby besides making him feel worse, he’s just too angry to care
- Really hoping Miguel comes back and takes Devon’s spot at some point
- Just thinking how Robby must be worried about the baby now too and even if I understand why he stayed he must feel othered from their ‘family’ all over again
- Also obsessed with the canon confirmation that Robby doesn’t drink
- I’m happy to see Miguel finally being in a place where he can call Johnny on his BS not to mention the fact that he remembers those details Johnny told him about Robby’s childhood and seems a lot more aware of how badly that affects him than most of the characters
- I kind of figured Robby was going to drink after that comment and I’m not surprised but I’m really worried about how that’ll turn out with how much he’s obviously struggling
- While it’s obviously not Sam’s responsibility I do wish she’d taken Robby seriously when he said he was thinking about drinking, he’s obviously not the type to make a joke like that lightly and I wish she’d realized
- I’m actually really glad Johnny talked to Miguel, especially about Robby, I think with how he’s feeling over it he needed someone to point out some of the facts of the situation like how Robby doesn’t have anything else going for him, in order for that to fully sink in
- Not happy that they’re acting like Robby went and slept with some random girl by choice, genuinely nothing like him and he was obviously way too drunk to consent
- The way Miguel says Robby’s name when he’s upset about losing the match was so sweet
- Finally things are looking up for Robby!!! Literally all he needed was encouragement and for someone to genuinely believe in him and follow his lead and Miguel gave that to him in the absolute best way, I’m so happy
- Miguel intentionally taking Robby in and telling him “you’ve got this” to boost his confidence
- Not to mention Miguel cheering his boyfriend on during his matches
- Miguel’s being the one who gives Robby the confidence to follow his heart is like everything I’ve ever dreamed of for them
- I swear for a second after that match I thought Robby and Miguel were going to kiss
- Miguel’s face when Robby beats Kwon was incredible
- Another Kiaz hug!!!!!!
- Robby is such a good person, he tries so hard to do the right thing and when he messes up he takes accountability and tries to make it right
- Miguel in that striped yellow sweatshirt is so perfect, literally he’s such a sunshine
- Miguel being so encouraging to Robby is everything I’ve ever wanted
- Miguel stepping in when Kwon hurts Robby
- Robby and Miguel are such a good team
- I fully thought Kwon was going to stab Robby and he would have to drop out and Miguel would win another tournament but that was quite the twist
- I don’t know what else to say I just can’t believe that ending, but I’m incredibly relieved both my boys are alright

Things I wanna see in Cobra Kai S6 part 2
Since I'm on a Cobra Kai streak since they dropped the new photos, I want to make a list of things I wish to see in part 2. And then check if they become true 🙏🏻 (I'm writing this before they drop the trailer)
Feel free to add whatever you want <3
Alright, HAJIME!!
1. Kwon's backstory and character development
I don't want him to be a 2D villain. Every character until now has had at least some internal conflict and reasons behind their behaviour (even bullies like Kyler), so please, PLEASE, give the guy an interesting background. If we have to tolerate Daniel and Johnny love-hate every season, I want my little Kdrama too 😂
Also, if they're going to add even more secondary characters (who, according to the leaks, will be kind of villains too), I need them to focus on Kwon first.
2. Tory defending herself from whatever BS the Miyagi Do's will tell her
Yes, she's not well at all after her mother's death and yes, Cobra Kai isn't the way to heal from her wounds... But if I hear one of them getting angry at her or calling her a traitor when none of them went after her, I'll be kicking 540s in my room................
I would also love to watch her train in Korea with the new team, giving Kim a "TAKE THAT B*TCH, who wouldn't have lasted one minute in your dojang back home??" (In season 5 Kim told that to Tory and Devon) and watch her training her hardest and truly fighting and earning her position as captain, not to appear magically in Barcelona as sensei Kreese's pet ('cause I don't think neither Kwon nor Yoon will like that).
They can even do this as flashbacks before each round of the tournament. But... I'm kind of losing hope on this because of the producers' comments. I write it here just in case :(
3. Johnny being a real father to Robby
I understand his main interest is defeating Cobra Kai, especially now that they know Kreese is back. But Robby will need him more than anyone during this tournament: the poor boy has the pression of being the team captain in a televised international competition, he needs to win the Sekai Taikai because that's the only way he could be offered a better future after being in juvie for so long, his girlfriend (ex?) has been MIA only to appear with their nemesis' team........
I've seen an interview where Xolo said Miguel's going to be Robby's main support during part 2. And while I like that, I still feel that, for once in his life, Johnny should step up and put the son he abandoned for so many years first. That would be his REAL redemption arc, more than being sensei for his own version of Cobra Kai.
4. Demetri and Hawk fixing their problems FAST
I understand them both, but their argument seems like the typical post-high school crisis where you have to separate yourself from your lifelong friends because (surprise!) each one wants and must follow their own path and dreams.
So for me it's alright if they solve this with just one conversation after winning together some round during the Sekai Taikai. I don't need something like one of them DYING or ending up in the hospital (though that's probably what will happen to Demetri seeing the X-men-mutants they've chosen as their rivals........).
In short, for me the character arcs of Hawk and Demetri are already complete and do not need more drama. They can become secondary characters, although I love both actors and I'll miss them so much :')
5. Bring back #MiguelSeason 1!!!!
I don't think there's anyone who doesn't want this to be honest haha. But in my case what I mean is I want the concentration and power he had back then, not him playing dirty or seriously injuring someone.
I want FULL POWER Miguel, the ultimate version of this young fighter we saw growing each season, using every style he's learned and making it his own.
And who knows, I won't be mad if he wins after all, but that only if Robby gets an awesome final character arc.
6. Sam and Tory supporting each other even if enemies on the tatami
These girls have already apologised to each other and now Sam understands Tory's situation and mental state without any judgement, so I want Tory to find selfless support in Sam and to learn how to confide in her.
And I want Sam to fully embrace Mr.Miyagi's teachings of forgiveness, balance and strength.
And what better way to do it than by applying them to your former arch-nemesis?
EXTRA POINTS if they fight together against Zara or any other enemy!
7. Silver NOT coming back in this second part...
At least until the end of the last episode.
We have villains already. We have NEW characters (villains?) already. And as much as I like chaos and drama, I don't think it will be easy to follow a story where everyone is against Miyagi Do lol
They can save him for the finale.
... Plus I just can't stand that dude :'), I prefer Kreese as an antagonist all the way.
8. Sassy arguments, teenage drama and funny scenes
I already read that part 2 is gonna be very action-oriented. But Cobra Kai is much more than amazing stunts and choreographies (which I love, don't get me wrong). I just don't want them to forget the potential of having a hotel and a sports park full of troublesome teenagers, with even more troublesome senseis.
They're participating in a hard competition abroad, but that doesn't mean they can't have some comedy scenes here and there like the ones they have in the Valley.
Idk, you have a Korean dude with an anime-looking hair and an American dude with a freaking American flag in his mohawk!!!!! Someone has to make at least a comment about that.
9. The characters eating Spanish food or trying to speak Spanish
This one is personal hahaha
I grew up in Spain so I need to watch them tasting a tortilla or trying to buy something and getting scolded by a Spanish "abuela" (grandma).
BONUS POINTS if Johnny Lawrence drinks the typical beer from there (Estrella Galicia). (Know this won't happen as it would be free advertising haha).
10. Amanda and Carmen being the queens they are, finally happy and in peace as every karate freak (including their respective husbands) are booked and busy at the other side of the world

Can you make a terry silver x fem reader smutshot based off the song "one of the girls" by the weeknd?
Thanks for the Request!
And I've finally got the first part of this request done! Aiming for two parts but it could end up being three depending on how the next part goes! This request ended up CK Terry adjacent I hope that's okay. I've also taken some creative liberties with this song, but I will do my best to incorporate most of the pre chorus in the next part or parts ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Broken Spirit: Chapter 1
TW: Stalking mostly, Terry being hotly deranged, its implied reader is also lowkey deranged though a match made in heaven essentially, and that's mostly it for this part. I know it's short, but I hope you enjoy!
😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉
Terry’s POV
A haze of purple hues, pulsating strobe lights, and wispy lines of thin gray smoke swirl around the crowded dance floor of the Hollywood bar, Warwick. The thrum of wavey synths filled Terry Silver’s ears while his incisive blue eyes surveyed the room in languid motions from his spot against the bar wall having just ventured from the classier, more adult lounge upstairs. He gazed at the drunk, strung-out LA clubbers with a certain degree of distained apathy. He hadn’t been inside a club or had a line of coke since the 80s, a rather contentious phase in the older billionaire’s life. To be quite honest he didn’t enjoy the hubs of the LA youth’s night life anymore now, in his graying age, then he did back then. Now a club like this only served as a bitter reminder of the days John Kreese raged through Terry’s lavish LA life like a tornado. Only to leave it in shambles just as suddenly, even all these years later the thought left a bitter lump forming in the back of his throat.
What’s passed has past, of course, as far as Terry was concerned John Kreese no longer existed. John was as much a ghost of lifetimes past as the cocaine fueled daze of Terry’s dim, but still flickering empires of addiction. Once an addict, always an addict is what they say after all. It only took Terry over a decade to replace that ghostly powder with something else, something corporeal, in all its lovely delight and there it was now. Terry couldn’t help the delighted somewhat bashful way his lips curled upwards when his eyes finally spotted you. There you stood, glittering in a hazy sea of strung-out blurs adorned in the black miniskirt and silver halter top. He’d been moving that outfit to the front of your cluttered closet during his routine visits to your empty condo while you sunbathed next to the complex’s pool in the most conservative one-piece swimsuit you had. Terry swiped all the tiny bikinis you owned on his first inconspicuous venture into your empty bedroom, the evidence of which now lay neatly folded in his dresser drawer. Normally he’d work his way up to petty thievery, but it was a necessary risk to take. How else could he ensure outside eyes didn’t linger on what he silently declared was his, the moment he’d laid eyes on it…
Terry met you exactly a year ago last week at some trendy art gala in Beverly Hills. He’d stumbled upon you, sitting on the terrace rail in a fetching cream gown almost as if you were contemplating flying off into the starry night sky like an enchanting swan. But in one hasty conversation Terry came to realize you were more akin to a black mare, a free spirit immune to his charm. A beautiful yet fully untamable party girl with a captivating aura of intrigue surrounding you. How you ended up at a sophisticated gala was beyond him in the last year he’d learn night clubs and house parties in the Hills was your prerogative at least when you weren’t holed up in your swanky corner office. You kept a surprising balance between work and play, a balance Terry wouldn’t quite achieve till his early to mid-forties and here you were mastering it just shy of thirty. That steely ambition was all it really took for Terry Silver to become infatuated with you. Though the conversation you gave him that evening was equal in measure to the passive niceties one would share with a cashier at the grocery store. Thus began a yearlong game of cat and mouse.
For months after the gala, you appeared uninterested in him despite all the “chance” run ins and “spontaneous” cocktail invites Terry meticulously sent your way. Terry tried to be “discreet” about his yearning for you at first, even as tedious as it was. That was way before he realized you were merely making a game out of the chase at his expense like the wild mare you were at heart. Terry caught on to your coy little game during one of his chance run ins with you on Rodeo Drive. Intrigued alarm bells were ringing his head when you suspiciously delighted him with trivial small talk over lunch for an entire afternoon, up until then you’d been incredibly frivolous. Terry considered it a win if he was fortunate enough to hold you up for an hour or so on your weekly trip to the grocery store. He had basically made it impossible for you to avoid him or sneak away anyway, he all but glued himself to your side as you rolled up and down routine aisles of produce. Never questioning why he’d strayed so far from Malibu to linger by your side amongst pints of Ben and Jerrys in west Hollywood. He had thought perhaps you hadn’t noticed but it was quite the contrary, you had noticed.
It struck him over lunch that day on Rodeo drive when you nonchalantly let it slip you and your friend Bea would be attending one of the four raves in LA that weekend. You had the gall to tack on a cute “You’re welcome to join us” with a coy smile etched on your plump lips and mischief swirling in your big eyes. Terry couldn’t help but smirk, taking in your thick fluttering lashes. He found your very first attempt at lying to him right through your pearly little teeth surprisingly endearing. He had already seen the phrase “Napa Valley with Bea” elegantly scribbled in pink ink on the calendar you had sitting on the desk in your home office.  A million thoughts raced through his mind at that very moment.
Part of him wanted to call you out on your lie right then and use it as an excuse to “lure” you into the back his Ferrari, whisking you back to his Malibu mansion whether you wanted to or not was beyond the point. The image of you stripped bare and bound on your knees in front of his California king, begging for forgiveness and mercy among other things was quite tempting after all. But what would it get him in the end? He could fuck you hard and raw until you were incapable of forming coherent thoughts or words let alone, running away from him. You certainly wouldn’t be out roaming the droves of sordid LA raves you seemed most privy to into the early hours of the morning if he had. But breaking in a rouge mare was no easy feat. Regardless of whether you break a horse in hard or soft, it requires time, patience, good groundwork, and attention to detail. Luckily, Terry Silver was an expert at all of the above in his greying age…
So, after weighing his options he decided to take you up on your coy little game. He could play along and let his prized mare think she had the reigns for quite some time, and he had. Terry waited an entire day before coincidentally running into you and Bea on your oh so, “last minute “, Napa Valley getaway. Your aura was more aloof than usual that day, but your big eyes gave away your dumbfounded wonder when he strode into the hotel lobby like some aplomb show pony. And that dumbfounded, endearing sort of wonder swirled in those big eyes every night Terry managed to track down his unbroken little mare since. Surely tonight would be no different once you finally spotted him lingering coolly in the back of yet another lively LA bar for the hundredth time in the past few weeks. But, most unbeknownst to you, his prized untamed mare, tonight would be very different… It was finally time for, Terry Silver to finish breaking you in properly and he knew just how to do it. He’d been planning it meticulously for weeks now, the perfect corral for his free spirit was set, decked out quite lavishly and sat out on the Malibu beachfront. Now, all Terry had to do was get you there, which shouldn’t be too hard, he clocked your subtle jealous tendencies when you found him engaging Bea in polite albeit meaningless conversation at some bar in the Valley last week, when you’d finally found your way back from the bathroom. It was quick, a mere flicker in those big eyes of yours in the warm bar lighting but it was enough for Terry to perceive a degree of unspoken but requited loyalty on your part. That was all the proof he really needed that you were finally ready to let go of this frivolous game. To finally let him “ride you”, metaphorically speaking, whether you knew it consciously now or not. If you didn’t know it now, you’d know it by Friday evening Terry was sure.  After all, if there was one thing Terry Silver knew how to do without a doubt, it was throwing a party….
“They don’t know that I love you…
I broke you just to own you…”
Terry pushed himself off the wall, his lips still curled in a smug predatory smirk as he eyed you from afar. Your doe-like eyes looked bored while they surveyed your surroundings quite pointedly as Bea rambled in your ear about something trivial, most assuredly. If it weren’t for the hordes of ogling eyes from young vulture-like reprobates on you at present, Terry would be keen to watch you like this all night. Those doe eyes gave way the fact they’d been looking for him for quite a while in all their feigned innocence, silently begging for him to swoop in and save you from your untamed proclivities. Begging to be broken…
“You’ll get what you’re begging for soon enough, sweetheart…” Terry cooed under his breath, letting his legs carry him to your shimmering corner of the cluttered dance floor. He knew ignoring you in that little black skirt and silver halter top was going to be hard. Terry had never longed to touch anything the way he longed to touch you but ignoring his little prize was a necessary measure to ensure you’d show up at his mansion hot and ready. So, Terry straightened out his Tom Ford blazer and ran a large hand through his nearly silver hair coolly. His eyes bore into you intensely enough for you to finally meet his gaze across a sea of blurred gyrating bodies, everything around him always seemed to fade when you were around. Every high he had in his youth failed in comparison to the one his ethereal free spirit provided him, how he lived without you all these was beyond him.  But that would all be remedied come Friday, he’d make up for every ounce of lost time…
Terry closed in on you and Bea, feigning a polite smile, he watched as a dusty pink blush spread across your cheeks. Your plump lips fought the urge to curl into one of your coy little smiles as you eyed him up with dilated pupils. The rapid rise and fall of your ample breasts made you look like a dog in heat, Terry had to bite back an ominous chuckle at the sight of you before him.
Good evening, fancy running into you here” Terry said charmingly, he finally peeled his steely blue eyes off your curvy form and let them settle on Bea with a coquettish aura. Bea was the type of girl he would’ve dated at the height of his coke heydays. She was the hallow type of pretty you’d find on the cover of Vouge with a personality to match or lack thereof, the type of girl he’d take to a charity gala and nothing. You on the other hand were quite pretty but in a petite cute, ingenue beauty type of way that most people wouldn’t find intimidating. You made up for that with your exuberant, quick witted, occasionally sarcastic charm.
“Look what the cat dragged in Bea, we’ve been standing in this corner of the dance floor all alone for almost two hours now, did you get lost?” You quipped coyly, Terry saw your signature coy smile twitch on your plump lips out of the corner of his eye and fought the urge to let his eyes stray from Bea. Bea looked up at him before looking at you almost anxiously as she realized he was talking to her, and only her. Terry let the wave of awkward silence stretch on for quite some time, his blue eyes bore into Bea expectantly. Silently urging her to put her dry personality to the side and play along with his little game long enough for him to slip her a meticulous invite.
“Oh, uh, Mr. Silver what brings you to Warwick…” Bea trailed awkwardly, Terry maintained his polite smile though internally he was rolling his eyes. He would trudge through tedious trivial small talk with your snooze box of a friend for you, and only you.
“Oh, you know just out on the town, they have a more intimate lounge just upstairs for us oldies. My friends packed it in early, so I thought I’d come down and see what all you young darlings were buzzing about.” Terry said in the same mildly coquettish tone. He allowed himself to glance at you long enough to catch the way you were adorably grinding your teeth as you glanced between him and Bea with a faux aura of aloofness. Terry fought a giddy smirk as he watched your ample breasts rising and falling faster than they had even a moment ago. You were silently seething already, and he hadn’t even mentioned the party yet.
“Don’t be silly Mr. Silver, you’re not that old, you blend in down here just fine” Bea said still looking incredibly awkward under his gaze. Her brown eyes seemed to be silently pleading with you to save her from whatever was brewing between the three of you right now. Your eyes bore into him, lit up by the hues of flickering lights as a new wave of intensified synths poured through the speakers overhead. If it weren’t for the obnoxious club atmosphere one might say the stare off the pair of you were having was pulled right out of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. An exasperated huff escaped you plump lips as you finally turned you seething gaze towards Bea. Terry let his polite smile falter just so, getting the urge his prized filly was gearing up to buck at any moment.
“Don’t be silly Bea, you don’t have to lie to Terrence just because he’s a billionaire. He is that old and he really doesn’t blend in with us young commoners in his Tom Ford blazer now, does he. You know, aside from the fact its 85 degrees outside (29 degrees Celsius 😉)” you said in a biting yet sickly-sweet kind of tone with some attempt at a sinister smirk on your face. And there it was, Terry chuckled under his breath at the pointed usage of his full name you’d be paying for that little jab at his greying age real soon…
“Y/N, that was rude…” Bea muttered to you softly, it was nearly impossible to hear over the blaring of supposed music above them. Terry waved his hand dismissively, pulling an emerald, green envelope with an elegant, gold wax seal out of his blazer pocket before you could respond. Your big eyes swirled with eager curiosity at the sight of the lone invitation clutched in his large hand, Terry did his best not to let such an endearing look dissuade him from the task on hand. He assured himself he could relish such a look in due time as he forced yet another polite smile; he settled his blue eyes on Bea once more.
“That’s quite alright, I’ll be heading back up to my rightful place on the lounge sofa Y/N just as soon as I give Bea this…” Terry said weaponizing the sickly-sweet biting tone you had just used on him with an almost sadistic look in his eyes. Your face fell astronomically though you did your best to play it off with your signature aloof expression, but your eyes appear slightly…glassy as they peered over at the emerald envelope. Honestly, the look in your eyes was enough to have the faintest twinge of guilt bubbling in the older man’s chest, a feeling the coke had numbed for quite some time. “It’ll all be better Friday, sweetheart you’ll see” Terry replayed the thought in his head like a mantra in the brief stretch of silence that lingered in the air.
“Um, what is it…” Bea trailed looking at the letter with a constrained look in her eyes. The twitch of Bea’s hand suggested she wanted to take it, but your sudden withdrawn expression made her hesitate. Terry considered the fact that maybe he was taking this a step too far but how else could he make sure you waltzed into his mansion Friday evening? One split second decision would allow him to both wrap up this tedious small talk foreplay and strike hard with no mercy.
“It’s an invitation to the party I’m hosting Friday evening, I’m willing to give you the details if you accompany me to my rightful place on the lounge sofa” Terry said in a tone that managed to be charming towards Bea and mocking towards you all at once. Bea’s dry expression for once looked dumbfounded, her brown eyes looked between the two of you, equal amounts conflicted. You, however, were gritting your teeth again with a fire a blaze in though big eyes of yours. Terry didn’t fight the urge to smirk, instead he turned and looped an arm with a still dumbfounded Bea and guided her a fair distance through the droves of strung-out blurs on the dance floor. He ignored Bea’s soft cries of protest though he felt her trying her hardest to unloop her stringy arm from his. “Strike first, Strike Hard, No Mercy” a new mantra swirls in Terry’s head and he forces himself to a stop in the middle of the cluttered club floor. He turns to meet doe eyed gaze with a giddy, sadistic smirk that leveled the one he bore in the dojo with the ghost of his lost friend John Kreese all those years ago…
“Oh, Y/N, you’re welcome to join us” the words float out of his mouth tauntingly. The blaze in your eyes dies down just enough for a smirk to curl onto your lips.
“…He knows how to get the best of me
I’m no fool for the world to see
Trade my whole life just to be….”

They TOTALLY RUINED Chozen’s character this season 100% shame on the writers. Johnny has been trash since season 3 so that’s nothing new. Robby went through it and his dad still doesn’t care. Also FUCK the creepy Zara scene with him, gross. But Daniel was a cutie patootie as usual, and Silver was the easy highlight, he stole every single scene he was in and looked damn good doing it. What a sexy beast.
Chozen becomes slightly more palatable if you remember the fact that this guy is shown to be properly unhinged when we're first meeting him, though. He's been brought up well but that doesn't negate the fact that he walks around with two sai, just in case, when he is stone cold sober, as a middle aged man. And that is not completely off base for a man who engineered a dramatic entrance in the middle of a dance recital to fight a young tourist to the death.
Then,as now, he could be focused and collected but that guy is always three miliseconds away from going completely feral when he stops trying To Be Normal. And now, with Kumiko's rejection, he stops trying to behave. The differences between S5 and S6 are quite something. And also, more understandable when what he is dealing with is not so much rejection but gay panic. I mean why has he never tried to date anyone but Kumiko? Was she his idea of the closest thing to being with Daniel? Like, them both being in love with Daniel must be almost the same as being in love with each other and as he can't make himself love some girl and cannot be with another boy, well, what's he to do then? He'll be alone forever! The Da Eun storyline was simply written in to give her character something to do. Da Eun's purpose in story I've never understood. She spent half of S5 and S6 with a look on her face that read: what am I doing here?! Her supposed bond with Kreese also seemed rather shallow. So, and no hate on the actress there, but everything about that is going to feel off. I mean I get it from a writing standpoint, she's there, she's hot and she's Asian, so the only thing to do is get her with the Asian guy but. Well.
Why is Robby not super close with Daniel rn? Johnny still doesn't show the slightest bit of interest in him. If you hadn't been told that's his kid, would there have been any sign of a connection between the two? Also, where is his mother? Robby was written as a plot device for three seasons and then they forgot what to do with him. And Tanner plays him as completely disconnected from everyone in his life because of course, you would be, but do Sam and Daniel actually think that boy is OK? Does anyone care that Carmen's baby is his sister, or that his Dad abandoned him in the middle of the World Championships, or that his girlfriend broke up with him and he has no one to talk to? Did Johnny ever even talk tactics? Why is no one stepping up? Yeah Daniel could have tried to give Johnny and Robby some space but he must see that Johnny doesn't see the boy at all. That's his mentee! He should be there for him, when he knows how big an influence both a great and a terrible mentor can have!
But yeah. I loved both every second with Daniel and sexy beast Silver.

Random assortment of season 6 part 2 thoughts:
To repost my own edit
Tumblr media
I had issues with certain things of course — WHICH I WILL GET INTO — however, I think a lot of the emotional, interpersonal relationship dynamics, because the cast was just less cluttered at a time with a specific event happening, worked better in having conflict and resolution than in part 1
OKAYYYY SO maybe this is recency bias in play, but I feel like this part was OVERALL less frustrating and enraging for me than part 1?
First off: what the fuck was up with the lighting decisions
The good things: like I said, as frustrating it could have been, most of the interpersonal conflicts felt like they came from realistic and understandable issues arising in each character. I commend the maturity Sam, Devon, etc. reacted when Tory came back to Cobra Kai in particular — but even if it raised tension, the aggression between Miguel and Robby, Anthony and Kenny, the Binary Bros and Kenny, etc., didn't feel half-assed and made for conflict for the sake of conflict
I can't say the same for Daniel and Johnny :/ but they get the fucking short end of the stick, big surprise. Divorced energies awf the CHARTS 💯💯💯
They're still fighting over who's the most right or wrong when THEIR KIDS ARE IN THE TRENCHES BECAUSE THEY NEED A FUCKING STRATEGY
I will never Not complain about Johnny and Daniel respectively being karate dads to their kiddos though. Idiot jackasses who fight all the time they are, they're so cute when they're giving guidance :')
And they were ROOMMATES
My indifference and complaints of the Sekai Taikai aside, part 2 ending in an all-out international karate war is nothing short of what I expected from the show. I do have to commend the tremendous amount of choreography and energy pulsing through the fight, without it losing its momentum
Oh and the other competitors were there too
RIP Kwon. You never slayed harder than when you killed yourself
Kreese (SCREAMING). Silver (SCREAMINGGGGGGG). Dennis (hey buddy welcome back :D)
RIP Snake
I WAS MOMENTARILY RIGHT ABOUT MIYAGI-DO 3RD PLACE AND COBRA KAI 5TH HAHAHAHAHA
Anyways I'm sooooooooo angry about the recent developments of Mr. Miyagi you have no idea ❤️
To reiterate: I'm so unamused by this plot twist that Mr. Miyagi was involved in crime, murder(s), the Sekai Taikai, etc., because it's nakedly transparent that the only reason this new development had existed is so that the writers could connect their show to one of the few characters whose writing is strictly stuck in the 80s: Mr. Miyagi. Pat Morita can't return to play his character again, so the writers aren't able to portray Mr. Miyagi according to how they see fit — UNLESS they change his character, film flashbacks, and/or reveal information that isn't shared through the character directly. And with what we've GOTTEN already of Mr. Miyagi's character (escaped his village so he wouldn't have to battle to the death his friend, sent into an internment camp with his new family, partook in war (either willingly or drafted), lost his family, considered an outsider still in his community, etc.), what does this Secret Dark Past of Mr. Miyagi really show that's any different, or even as resonant, as what we've gotten? Besides connecting Mr. Miyagi's backstory to something the new show invented. And that's my problem
Carmen being regulated to mildly supportive mom/love interest for one episode 💔 love to see her for five minutes before being put back into storage alongside Rosa
I'm gonna complain about Kumiko, Kim, and Chozen. Why.
OKAY. IT WAS ALREADY ANNOYING THAT WE HADN'T SEEN KUMIKO SINCE SEASON 3, AND YET THERE WAS ALL THIS TALK ABOUT HOW CHOZEN WAS SUPPOSEDLY IN LOVE WITH HER. BUT SHE'S STILL A NONCHARACTER TALKED AROUND, BUT NEVER TOO??? IT'S LIKE COBRA KAI DECIDED THEY DON'T HAVE TO CARE ABOUT WOMEN IF THEY NEVER SHOW THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. WE JUST GET NOTHING ON KUMIKO'S SIDE OF THIS???? KUMIKO???? FUCK OFF
AND FOR THAT MATTER, Kim and Chozen having hatesex was mildly aggravating but whatever. Okay fine. Pair the spares. Regulate Sensei Kim's character to either FOR MY (GRAND)FATHER/HONOR, abusive Tiger Mom, or Love Interest of Chozen. Fucking whatever.
Someone else had already made this point before, but as terrible as Sensei Wolf's physical abuse is, it is a little funny seeing how it's treated with so much gravitas, when Johnny is Still throwing glass bottles at the kids, having a history of disregard for safety, etc etc.
In a similar vein of discussion, we don't have to worry about this same thing happening to Chozen's alcohol issues! Because it's being treated with the same seriousness as Johnny's alcohol issues 🙃
I most definitely had other thoughts, buuut those are what I can remember at the time ahdajfjsjks. Overall, when it was good it was good, and when it was bad it was AGGRAVATING TO MY VERY CORE. See you all for part 3 😮‍💨

Mochiiii, have you seen the new season of Cobra Kai, and if so what are your thoughts about a 'certain ship'🤭
Thank you for always being interested in my opinion. I would love to hear yours, as well!
I literally just finished the season, so I will probably have more or different thoughts later. My initial reaction is disappointment, but that's my own doing, because I am forever waiting for hints of reconciliation lmao.
I hope the fact Miyagi-do tried to play Kreese and Terry against each other is one of the things that makes them join forces again. But it was funny seeing Kreese straight up punch Terry in the face, when Terry had no idea what was going on. Also loved Chozen's comment of letting them screw each other (over).
Loved the hot tub scene. Loved the implications. Would like to see them actually in a hot tub together before I die. We all know it's canon, I just want to see it.
I think it's interesting Kreese was seeking Terry out to stab him, because the times he's tried to kill Johnny were in the heat of the moment and not pre-planned. idk it's necessarily out of character for Kreese to hunt Terry down, but it did feel weird in some respect.
Shocked there was an old man fight, because I expected a scene like in the prison where they cut back and forth between young and old Kreese. I'm comforted in knowing old people can beat each other up, though.
The same fears I've had since season 4 are still here. Very little time left to reconcile and work together if it's going to happen. Hate the idea of their relationship ending negatively, and hate the idea of two major villains never combining their powers. I'd like to see young cobra husbands again and maybe gain more insight that way, if the grandpas aren't going to talk it out.

Ok here we are
CK S6 Spoilers
So... Let's address the elephant in the room. Kwon's death.
Was done dirty, didn't give him anything to work with and you can't tell me Brandon, who had been trying to get into CK since s1 was happy to read that script.
I really wished they chose to develop him, give him reasons, motivations, having at least some redeeming quality, cause where it stands right now... He died and no one cares (in the fandom), he's just the teen that "got in the middle" of a main couple and died cause karma apparently?
Also, Daniel being the one to get to him first? Why? Why glaze him so much?
Hear me, Kim doing that would have THE DOUBLE of the impact, cause she was his sensei and she didn't like him. To have HER trying to stop him from hurting himself would've been so awesome.
Also, if he and Tory we're actually friends, the impact would be EVEN stronger, cause it would the second person she, in his case "kinda cares about" dying right in front of her eyes.
But no.
He had to be a fucking cardboard villain.
I don't even wanna address the Robby/Zara thing cause honestly it was clearly implied to be S.A. nothing more to add, it's quite clear.
For the first time in a while I'm actually hoping Keenry it's not endgame. I hate it how they made Tory suffer cause of Miyagi Do (Robby) and not her mom's death, it's so stupid.
I liked Kim this season, she was less cartoonish, which is a win. Her and Chozen were kinda cute ngl.
Devon and Kenny too. They are cute (But I will take bff's too, though I kinda shipp them)
Johnny, Daniel, Miguel, Demitri and Hawk I'll be honest I didn't care. Still don't. Sam was annoying me, but not enough to go back being a hater.
Wanted more Kreese, he was so in the background, god, his two scenes with Tory are great, the first one in her room was really good, the one in training really good too, stablish the Tory/Johnny parallels.
Silver was back and... I kinda like the whole Sensei Wolf thing (cause I love him in MK, must admit).
Axel was a weirdo who got obsessed for the first person who didn't straight up hit him. Still was acting too weird, dude it was ONE conversation.
Overall, this part 2 was actually weak in a way, maybe cause we knew the leaks, idk. I didn't like it, and it had a lot of potential that was wasted.

What would happen if someone tried to quit Cobra Kai during the KK3 era? What would price be for quitting the dojo?
---
I mean, officially? 😬
Nothing happens to you if you quit Cobra Kai; that's what you might be told.
It is an egalitarian, democratic dojo and people can come and go as they please...or at least that's what official narrative that could be served to any student with the biggest, kindest, warmest and most re-assuring smile would be. You might even get a pat on the back to top it all off. The comfort that you can still turn to your teachers and comrades at the dojo in case you ever need anything, because that's how empathetic these people will come off...especially Terry. John? Perhaps less so. In any case, the truth is entirely different, though. Leaving Cobra Kai is a bit like leaving the mob at any era. You can technically try --- you might even be encouraged to try (bordering on a challenge or a dare packaged in the most polite way possible), purely to drill the point home how much free will the students practice here. You'll have an awful time once you do and actually go through with this, though. Except, unlike the mob, there's no witness protection services to defend someone who merely quit a dojo. There probably ought to be knowing Terry Silver and John Kreese, though --- because you're somehow in a world of trouble the minute you renounce your allegiances (and you might've never even realized it was as serious as that) and stop showing up for classes because you officially told one of the Senseis you're going to quit for any reason. Now, as if on cue, you have former classmates bullying you, eclipsing your every move, your private life being sabotaged, your place of employment doxxed or threatened, individuals you can only class as hooligans stalking you, bothering you, catcalling you, heckling you, showing up places they shouldn't; might go as far as physical escalation instead of merely psychological mistreatment --- in layman terms, it's not out of the question you wouldn't get mugged or beat up, assuredly, by a gang of masked people who are eerily apt at martial arts almost like they studied it where you did.
You car might end up totaled while it's parked on the street.
Your home's windows smashed in.
Your apartment broken into and ransacked.
Your pet mysteriously disappears and winds up dead.
Your front porched spray painted with something resembling a warning.
Heck, where you live might get set on fire. People you love could get hurt.
Someone might even die and I wouldn't find it tremendously unbelievable.
Torture? Pain? Kidnapping? Abuses of various degrees?
Yep. It's that extreme and that serious.
Why?
Because John and Terry might have a very militant outlook on Cobra Kai and loyalties in general, which is no surprise considering they were in the military themselves and somehow, it bled through how they conduct the dojo as a whole. To throw in the towel and give up Cobra Kai equals spitting in their collective and the face of their very ideology and life's work and hey, if we reach, even their very service during the war. They do take capital offence to people leaving even though they don't really outright display the fact. The awful things that started happening to you coincidentally after you left? Can't even be easily traced back to them because they're cunning and have an understanding PR to the degree they can cover their tracks up; furthermore, Cobra Kai has enough money and backing from Terry Silver, who's literally a billionaire, to get away with any number of transgressions. So, to cut to the chase? Sure. Officially? Anyone can leave Cobra Kai. Same way anyone can join. It's simply that after you actually leave it, a world of pain can come your way and nobody guarantees for your safety...same could be said if you joined it. You wanted to be Cobra Kai, right? Kreese and Silver view this whole thing like they might view the Marine Corp: the privilege of brotherhood comes with consequences, and your teaching will be strenuous, difficult and absolutely brutal. Seems like you're not only not safe if you quit; you're not safe even if you do join of your very own volition.
It's somehow best if Cobra Kai as a whole just never throws its glance your way.
And vice versa.

hii! 🌼 here :)
LOVED it and would love to see more! 🫶🏽
I definitely think Miguel would fall a lot deeper into the Cobra Kai hole because he'd feel the loss of his nice™️ friends so much deeper and MUCH sooner. He's also very much a family guy so he'd probably be so sad to lose that uncle title 😭
I also think that the Robby/Eli/Demetri friendship would be TOP TIER. Those are his nerds 😭 And like if Johnny ever sees Robby with his new friend group, maybe he'd say something dickish early on- like assuming that Robby was the BD because how could either of those other nerds do it 😭 Protective Robby is the sweetest.
Sorry I LOVE the idea of Robby eventually trying to forgive his dad bc the boys, Sam, and reader have talked to him about Miguel and how he's really not that awful (even if he kind of it at this point) but idk how that would go here if he doesn't have Miguel to pull from his own CK trauma hole?
How do you think Eli would handle attention from girls in this scenario? Would Moon still approach him? Omg would Moon and Yasmine chill out sooner? Or not at all?
Totally ventured into my own hypotheticals, but totally ignore these if they don't match your vision LOL I would love to see how you think Miyagi Eli would influence the rest of the show 🫶🏽
OMG this is all so great and a lot to think about, I love it! I have so much to say, so this is a long one.
A question I don't know the answer to though: does the school fight happen in this? Idk if it does or if it should? Or at least not in the way it does in the show. Like I think Miguel and Tory are so deep in CK and each other because of CK that Miguel and Sam wouldn't kiss at Moon's party 👀 what do you think tho?
Miguel falling deep in the Cobra Kai snake pit would be interesting. He wouldn't have Hawk to compare his deeds to and only have Tory to keep doing bad shit with. The Medal of Honor doesn't get stolen, which is one of Miguel's big clues that something isn't right with the direction Cobra Kai is going in. Johnny could try all day and night to tell Miguel that this isn't the right way to go, but as time goes on, he loses his grip on not only him but all the Cobra Kais. Given the choice from Kreese, he'd still not join him in teaching the old ways of Cobra Kai to the students and Kreese would eject him from the dojo. They'd fight about it, literally, but the students would stand with Kreese. Johnny tries appealing to them that this isn't what he was teaching them and that this isn't the way to go, but he says it in all the wrong ways and Miguel steps up and tells him that his era of Cobra Kai is over now because it wasn't helping them anymore; they weren't becoming stronger with him in charge and they need Sensei Kreese to help them get stronger.
Johnny gives up on the dojo because the students don't see anything in him anymore and refuse his tough love and guidance. Maybe he'd try to reach out to Robby again and put his focus on his son. However...
I can just see Reader and Robby happen to be together out and about somewhere because he has a driver's license and is available to take her where she needs to go, and Johnny just happens to be there too. He would see the two of them together and wonder what the fuck. He asks himself if his kid knocked up LaRusso's kid and at that point, that's his worst nightmare. He'll call Robby out and ask to talk to him and Robby, begrudgingly, agrees only for his dad to jump to conclusions and say, "What the Hell, man? I thought you were smart enough to wear protection."
Robby goes off on him telling him how he doesn't know shit and shouldn't try now to parent him now because he failed at running a dojo. He lays into his dad for talking that way about his life and Reader's life when he doesn't know them at all. He'll walk away and lead Reader, who witnessed the whole backfired conversation, away from his dad because she doesn't need that kind of stress in her life. To him, Johnny is a walking headache.
Their reconciliation would be drastically different but could come sooner since Johnny wouldn't be allowed in Miguel's life by Miguel's decision. It would just take a lot of work on Johnny's end (as it should be) before they can be a father/son duo.
As for Moon, over the summer when she reconnects with Sam, she becomes friends with Reader and just loves gushing over her baby bump. Moon is someone very in tune with other people's emotions and probably sensed that Eli and Reader liked each other from the very beginning. Even when she was a mean girl, she picked up on their crushes for each other, but because she wasn't their friend or anything like that, she didn't care. Now that she and Reader are friends, she'd never go after Eli. If anything, Moon is probably their biggest supporter outside of their families.
Yasmine on the other hand probably stays the same as she is in the show. She comes back from Paris and still tries to keep her mean girl/popular status intact while being friends with Moon and Sam again. I still think the front wedgie happened so she's facing some teasing from schoolmates and such. She becomes friends with Reader but they aren't close - she's actually super awkward around Reader because of the pregnancy and doesn't know how to react to it, especially because she's so big and ready to pop by the time she returns to school. However, she will verbally destroy anyone who has anything to say about Reader or the baby. She doesn't know how to act around Reader but she sure as shit knows how to defend her. Yasmine is a nice friend, just in her own way.
None of this to say Eli doesn't get attention from other girls though. He would definitely catch the eyes of other girls because of his All Valley win and his "summer glow up" (he didn't do anything but let his hair grow out and he stands with more confidence but it's still a glow up ig). However, he wouldn't pay attention to them because he only has eyes for his baby mama. If someone were to approach him, he'd turn them down gently by explaining their flirting makes him uncomfortable because he's in a committed relationship. If another girl approached him and said he could do better than Reader because she's pregnant and fat or whatever the insult would be, he'd get upset and tell her that Reader is the mother of his child and no one is going to disrespect her like that. He'd tell her to hit the road and then go to Reader for some recharge because he still gets socially drained from time to time, especially if the conversation is long, boring, or absolutely stupid.
School comes to a halt for Reader and Eli soon after the new year starts, though, because that's when the baby is due. Daniel, in a fret, tells Reader to stay home a week before her due date so there won't be any issues at school if she were to go into labor. She isn't going to argue with him about it because walking around the school was tiring her out a lot faster than it had before and she's sore all over and her back hurts; she needs as much rest as she can get before the baby is born, but she could do without her dad fussing over her 24/7. Eli brings her the schoolwork she'll be missing out on and he'll help her complete it (or just do it for her because he doesn't want to overwork or bother her). He's there by her side as much as possible, staying with her as the due date creeps closer and closer until finally, she goes into labor in the middle of the night.
The only person spazzing out about it is Daniel and Amanda has to clam him down before they can go anywhere. Of course, Reader and Eli are nervous and worried, but they're keeping themselves together a lot better than grandpa-to-be. They keep the news about Reader being in labor a secret so as to not draw any unwanted attention to themselves (and to not give CK a chance to strike when Daniel and Eli - arguably one of the best MD students - are distracted; the last thing they need in menaces Miguel and Tory giving Robby, Demetri and the other MDs a hard time while they're fussing over Reader) (<- they do not mention any of that to Reader though because the last thing she needs to worry about is karate drama). Despite all that, it goes smoothly.
Reader only wants Eli in the room with her when it's time to give birth and her parents agree (Daniel is a little sad that his daughter doesn't want him there and Amanda drags his sappy ass out to the waiting room). Eli is so attentive to her, kissing her forehead and holding her hand as she pushes. He keeps the sweat out of her eyes and tells her how great she's doing.
Once their baby is born, he wants to cry. He's more okay with being vulnerable and not hiding his emotions since he's in Miyagi-Do. He is so happy and overwhelmed by his feelings that he can't help but cry as he hears his little girl wail for the first time. He rambles on about how cute she is while she lies on Reader's chest. All he can do is stare at her in wonder because wow, she's finally here. What an amazing feeling.

CK S6 Pt1 Thoughts
Do we still call this "the cut" or did we leave that behind on LJ? Anyway the thoughts are under the cut. I haven't looked at anyone else's thoughts yet, no idea whether this is echo chamber stuff or if I watched a different show than the rest of you.
Overall I honestly had a blast, I'm probably gonna talk more here about stuff I disliked but that's because positive stuff kept me glued to the screen while negative stuff sent me to vent in the notes doc I had open in another window lol
Eagle Fang was Johnny's thing, not an extension of Kreese's Cobra Kai, and I was so angry at the show for not understanding that that I burst into tears
I continue to think that the big cast is spreading character work too thin, such that most characters were either made much less interesting than they have been in previous seasons (e.g. Daniel, Miguel) or were given too little time with the character work they had (e.g. Robby, Kenny) or both.
Characters I made particular note of who are now boring: Daniel, Amanda, Sam, Hawk.
I was surprised in particular how Daniel was given virtually no character work other than this token Miyagi thing. I prefer when Daniel's a bitch. Daniel being The Reasonable One is incredibly boring.
We kinda got slutty gi back? In hallucination form? Briefly?
This was a hard realization: I don't think I ship Daniel/Johnny in these episodes. I'm still absolutely bonkers for them in previous seasons (1-4 mostly) and in the fandom sphere but honestly I wanted Johnny away from Daniel most of the time in s6e1-5. I found it really off-putting how much Daniel was trying to change Johnny into someone he's not.
Fave new character was Kwon. Enjoyably silly. I like his anime hair.
Delighted that Jarmen baby is a girl, even more delighted that the topic of the baby was pretty backgrounded, didn't spend a lot of time on it.
I am filled with incandescent rage that they neutered SamTory; it was weird rooting for Johnny's terrible strategies to make them frenemies instead of friends. But it looks like they're not quite done yet so I'm gonna cool my heels on this point.
Team Captain nepo babies lol. I would be so pissed if I were any of the other Miyagi-Do students.
Loved Johnny championing his female students. In an ideal world I would not have had a little voice at the back of my head wishing he'd spend the same kind of quality time with Robby (How about some Robby time? Robby? Robby now? Johnny and Robby?); nevertheless for what it was, I still really like Johnny supporting Devon and (to a lesser extent) Tory. Meanwhile Daniel over here in his sexist era I guess, ok. Like he really only wanted to send his daughter and no other girls.
Peyton List is the part-season's MVP, obviously obviously. She was so great. Kicked ass, kicked acting's ass. Tory was probably the meatiest character of the season, too, though that's not saying a ton.
My worst fears were not realized re: Johnny's character. He still isn't the fully-realized guy he was in early seasons, but relative to other characters, he's having a pretty OK season IMO. Knock on wood.
I was unexpectedly all riled up on Anthony's behalf. Why does he HAVE to get into karate? Why does he have to be Daniel 2.0? At least this was addressed textually.
So pissed on Kenny's behalf. Justice for Kenny. He deserved one of the top 6 spots. He got poo pants instead. Jesus Christ.
Loved the Lawrence vs Barnes fight, very metal, excellent choreo, love watching Zabka move. I would bet the cobros are lighting up at having an answer on that particular head-to-head.
This has been a running thing with Cobra Kai for a while, but I'm not even sure how I as an audience member was supposed to see Johnny's current teaching style? Honestly I loved his day of blended-style lessons. Obviously broken glass in the koi pond is not a great idea. But like. Jesus Christ, Daniel, katas HAVE STRIKES. WHAT DO YOU EVEN WANT.
Did they really just write Chozen out without any goodbyes? :(((
Daniel's ego flare-up and "I'm the boss" moment, contender for only interesting aspect to his character in these five eps. Hell yea hell yea. Show some goddamn teeth Daniel LaRusso.
One thing I think CK excels at and has always excelled at is keeping the stakes up for tournament-style fights, such that more often than not, I can't tell just through narrative signposting who's going to win. Robby vs Miguel in particular was a nail-biter. I did a full-body arm-pump when Robby won. Though the stakes were weird because it's not as someone can't win in Barcelona if they're not a captain? That was confusing and makes me think it's going to be their way of doling out successes across the main four kids. Like Robby and Sam for the captains, and then Miguel will win, presumably Tory too when she flip-flops back to team good guys again.
Interesting acting/directing/writing (idk which) choice during Robby vs Miguel, Johnny visibly rooting for Robby.
I love that Johnny brought up losing his mum when Tory's mum died, but I really hope they get the chance to bond over it at some point.
The fuckin magic jewel bottle cap got me so bad. Resourceful DIY toys is poor person realness and it was so cute and heartbreaking.
It's weird that new!CK got into the tournament because it's clearly not really the same dojo, so they haven't really qualified.
I'm so pumped about Kreese being the main villain. That was true before the season began and I still feel that way.
I'm excited for part 2!
