(102) spiraline change

eat when you’re hungry, drink when you’re thirsty sleep when you’re tired those are the rules of survival  that uncle taught me in the woods

so why among civilization am i doing all three?

life is: routines and well-worn paths tread into the foliage life is: unexpected adventures where the need to chance overcomes the want to stay the same brilliant and dirty and bright and beautiful as they are.

adventure to me has always been someone else getting into a lot of shit very far away or very long ago. i’ve had my own adventures. peace! i seek it but i know i still have so very far to go.

when i was a kid looking up at the sky i wanted to change the world and with the moon backlit against my back i would kneel down to pray through the singing night until my throat was hoarse with it

if i want to change the world if i am still that kid why do i eat when i’m hungry, drink when i’m thirsty, sleep when i’m tired? that is the epitome of someone who endures instead of enjoys who exists instead of living. but change is scary, even tidal change even cyclical change even spiral change like the moon presides over.

sometimes i feel adrift and there is no phoenix like ash ketchum found first-person tends to be narrow-minded that is the downside to the intense focus i wish i a) knew what i was working toward  and b) actually put in the effort. the second part is on me.

eat when you are hungry drink when you are thirsty, sleep when you are tired. establish routines and well-worn paths to recover and to  stay the same, to heal and to have a foundation; and be joyful and fierce when the adventure comes again spiralling change under the watch of the moon.
