thinking about mizu from blue eye samurai. thinking. thinking so much. thinking about how mizu operates outside of gender. like we joke about her gender being revenge but straight up? it literally is. like she grew up as a boy and is most comfortable being a man, but behind that is the feeling of betraying himself because he isn't being honest about who he is and he lives in fear of being discovered. and when he lived as a woman, she found joy there as well. she fell in love, and though she wasn't good at it, she liked being a wife and enjoying a simple life. but in that life too, she isn't being honest about who she is. and when she reveals her true self, it's not a woman, she's a demon, a weapon. she's to masculine to be a woman, and too feminine to be a man. ultimately, mizu is most comfortable when they are being a murder machine. that's when they feel they are being the most true to themself. like a sword, they are neither man nor woman, but a blend of both, which makes them stronger.

Watching the GOP trying to pivot and find targeting on Kamala that the Average Voter™ would agree with is hilarious. It's largely been clips of out of context moments where she laughs awkwardly about bad jokes she made. A few mentions that she never won a primary and are their best hits. They have nothing else outside of dog whistles, and those guys were always voting Trump. Like we hate her here for her being a cop, but the GOP can't fucking angle 'cops bad' to their base. As awful as 'tough on crime' rhetoric is, it's immensely popular with the exact kind of people who are swing voters. Even the attention from the attempted assassination was basically lost as all the focus shifted to Biden's decision. Theres suddenly a momentum around the DEM candidate we haven't seen since Obama. It feels like it went from an uphill fight to keep Trump out to a layup.

I think if you're not Native, and you see Natives talking about an actor we suspect could be/is a pretendian, you shouldn't immediately run up to the conversation with "Well x actor is mixed so that doesn't mean theyre nor Native American!" And assume that's the reason we're suspecting them.

Some of the most prominent, most beloved Native celebrities & household names are mixed race, like Sacheen Littlefeather, John Trudell, Radmilla Cody, Irene Bedard, Tantoo Cardinal, and so many more. Like yeah there's lots of Natives even, who are super weird and racist about BQ and mixed Natives.

But a lot of the time we're suspecting these actors specifically because they're not actually Native & are exhibiting some classic pretendian behaviors, not because they're mixed race or allegedly "mixed race".
