Remember Summer Days

Every year you were in college you studied abroad for the second half of the year. As a cultural studies major you had been sent to many interesting places, including Hong Kong, Iran, and Iceland. Your senior year was no different, but a pit settled in your stomach nonetheless when your professor had informed you that you were selected to go to Japan.

When you finally pull away from Jotaro you have to fight the urge to kiss him then and there, so you ignore each other. Eating dinner silently, the silence was suffocating. You wanted nothing more than to be in his arms again, but if things went right, you’d have half a year with him. The thought thrilled you.

After dinner you had gone to finish unpacking, falling into bed when you were done. A rumbling in your chest startles you and you look over to see Star Platinum crouching beside your stand, Dark Lady, scratching the top of her head as she rubbed her cheek on his knee. You hadn’t used your stand hardly at all since you had left Egypt. You had almost completely forgotten about her.

Okay but can we talk about those little Wonderbat moments which prove JLU's superiority in terms of portraying relationships over all of the other shows?

In Starcrossed Batman reveals all the secret identities and Flash pulls down his mask. Wonder Woman comes up to him, compliments his ginger hair, ruffles it and before Wally can say anything, Bruce throws a pile of clothes on him and grunts "Change. Now." while giving them a major side eye and it's so damn obvious that he's jealous as hell.

In Kid Stuff there's that moment with Clark being oblivious to Diana having a giant crush on Bruce, but also little Batman trying to save his Princess and being all mopey and mad because she had to rescue him? Fuckin priceless.

In one of favourite JLU episodes, One and Future Thing, at one point, due to the time and reality crashing, Diana disappears, literally vanishes before their eyes and Batman is the first one to try and grab her, yelling her name with utmost terror and the old Batman has the same terrified expression. We know that he has not chosen to share a life with her, but she never was just a friend and great colleague.

It's a small thing, but in the 'Legends' both Batman and Wonder Woman are knocked down to the ground, Bruce gets up first and offers Diana a hand. Note that Batman knows damn well that Diana doesn't need his help - she can fly and is like ten times stronger than him, for Hera's sake - but he does that anyway. Considering how awesome JL(U) is when it comes to portraying its characters, I don't think it was simple 'okay now let's animate them getting up and talking to the Thief'. I think it was supposed to show us two things - that Bruce was raised by Alfred and demigoddes or not, it's polite to help someone up (especially if it's a woman he fancies) and that Wonder Woman, coming from completely different culture and being hostile towards her male teammates in the beginning of the show (I could totally see her flip her shit if somebody did that to her in the first season), changed her attitude to the Men's World thanks to the Caped Crusader.

In conclusion, all I want for Christmas since I was four is double wedding episode with the original starcrossed lovers™ and the Princess and her Dark Knight tying the knot

Universities April challenge Day 8: Favourite book Nope, no favourite book. Favorite bookS! I won't ever be ready to pick an all time favorite. What if BY Randall Munroe It's just hilarious. Especially when you know about science facts. Ridiculous questions that are The Girl you Left Behind BY Jojo Mojes This one I have reread it so many times. Part one happens during WW1, Part two is set in the 21th century in NYC. It revolves a painting, telling the story of two women who have the love of their lives ripped away from them, and facing decisions that will ruin their life (and others), but they vow not to give up and fight till the end. I love historic fiction. WW1/WW2 themed, the Crusades, Ancient Rome, Cultural Revolution of China...add in some romance, betrayal, politics... Love of the Hawthorn Tree BY Ai Mi OK, this one was the first historical romance novel I picked up. The fact that it is a real story amazes me. Cultural Revolution and starcrossed lovers. Fluff and a lot of angst. No smut because their love is pure and precious. A bit short though, good for a train ride. The HP and LotR series as well as other classic series are enjoyable to read, sadly, my imagination of the story and characters were limited by the films. Favourites may change, there are so many books out there, waiting to be published, to be discovered and devoured. (Yes, devoured.) 5 years ago, I had a different list in mind, and in 5 years, it might change or stay the same.
