Oh, believe me, he is, he is far more arrogant cocky and boastful, if you don't know who the man is then he will get all offended, because, he's the star player of the Zanarkand Abes! Everyone has to know him! Even if you're not from Zanarkand! Everyone should be praising him and swooning over him! Hes Jecht! The star player of the Zanarkand Abes! Who doesn't know him??? He's the star! He's the man character! Hes the one who should be getting all the attention! Everybody loves him! (Disclaimer: he is not the main character)

Now that I think of it, I could easily create a Playlist for Jecht and the top two songs would be Everybody Loves Me by One Republic and The Main Character by Will Wood

Me replaying FFX and get the part where the Luca Goers are with Yuna on the boat and she perks up with "They will win! He use to be the star player of the Zanarkand Abes."

genuinely did not realise until watching the gameplay preview video today that "Arceus" is supposed to be pronounced Ark-eus, like that's two hard syllables with no blended sound in the middle (and then one more, I realise it's ark-e-us)

I will continue to call it Arse-eus regardless, who is going to hear me inside my own home?

There is a somberness to his features. There always is when he travels here. It is no simple thing to travel to the in between, To come here to the dream. No living being could make the journey. Contact with Sin was almost always fatal. Thankfully enough, he was already dead.

"I give you my word. I’ll take care of your son. I’ll guard him with my life."

His final words to Jecht are never far from the unsent's mind. His eyes drift off from the nearby peer. His hand reaches down slowly. The jug of nog is pulled free from his waist. He brings it up slow. Those mismatched eyes gazing off in the distance. Off to the vision of the massive creature lurking underwater.

Sin is still Jecht.

He is likely the only person that knows this. Not that he could really call himself a person anymore. He takes a sip of the sake then, saluting the massive creature as it slowly sinks back down below the water's surface. Even after everything, Jecht still missed his home. Still missed the dream, and the boy he never got to raise.

"Soon."

He ushers the word as a silent promise. He would find a way to free Jecht. A way to save Spira from Yevon's lies, and the horrible truths behind them. His attention his drawn quietly up to one of the large screens then. The giant projection of the star player of the Zanarkand Abes is enough to bring a slight smile up from under his collar.

Jecht would be proud, but maybe not as proud as Tidus. The thought even warrants a slight chuckle as the warrior begins to make his way into the sprawling, luminous city. They are more alike than either of them would ever admit. It is a long walk but he does not tire. He does not stop to marvel at the technological wonders or the crowds of wonder struck onlookers. For all it is a dream. A replica of the Zanarkand that existed long ago.

His journey finally brings him to his destination. It is hardly the humble beginnings he had found the boy in the first time he had arrived. Tidus lived at the top of the world here. The son of a Legend, who was quickly becoming one all his own. He is almost sorry to take him from it, but in the end none of it is real.

And he owes it to the boy to give him a chance. A chance to live a real life.

He does not utter so much as a word at first. He enters the penthouse with the same evenly paced stoicism that he always carries himself with. The place is surprisingly not as bad as he had been expecting it to be. It is almost a welcome relief. He gingerly makes his way through the kitchen area. Opening a drawer here or a cabinet door there. He is content to find food amongst them. A sign that the young blitzer is eating.

Finally he finds the young man he seeks. The blond's eyes are closed, as he lays splayed out on the couch on the lower floor of the loft. Auron shakes his head slowly for a few moments, before his gruff voice breaks the silence.

"Ah to be young. All the fame and gil in the world, and I find you napping."

He has lost count of the times he had asked, talked about and thrown hints at the man about it - but to no avail. It was a big occasion, after all, and not everyone could brag of knowing or even living with a player of the Abes, a star in the making as many would profess. While Tidus didn’t care much and avoided to be an unnecessary subject of gossip, the pressure and thrill to be admitted into such a big team and to finally perform a match in the biggest stadium of Zanarkand was quite heavy, no matter the fact he had seen and breathed blitzball since he was born, more or less.

As an official member of the team and a new promise of the sport, he too had now the chance to grant tickets to whoever he so desired, a free entrance to the stadium for the big match, with a reserved good seat to watch the game and all the comforts one could have imagined too. Usually, older players would have given those tickets to special others, to partners and family members; given he was the youngest to have ever been admitted -- yet more fuel for voices around the city -- the choice would have fallen on either girls to woo, or family. Still, it was with incredible delight that the future star had announced it to Auron, suggesting he accepted the free ticket to come and see him, on his much-longed-for debut.

After all, he couldn’t have asked anyone else, and Auron felt like the first and most appropriate choice. As silent and stern as he appeared, Tidus always felt a trip to the stadium could have eased his ever so present tension and seriousness… at least for one night !  But the adult had barely agreed, avoided the subject. He didn’t need to tell Tidus he wasn’t the type to follow blitz matches, of course - the boy knew it. 

But his presence would have been a comfort. In a big stadium like the Dome, naturally, Tidus would have never seen him physically among the audience; yet, the thought of knowing him there, to watch him play and shine as any new player ought to do on their debut night, felt mildly comforting in his fantasies. The little note, then, comes as a surprise, but a pleasant, warm one. He has seen it, he’s quick to notice changes like that  - despite hating the reason why with all his heart: Auron isn’t home as much as he used to be, not like in the past. And while his proud spirit told him it was better this way, since he was not a child anymore and needed more space, the note too is a presence of him in there. He innocently wonders what he’s up to, as he turns around the note in his hands.

Then, he smirks, content with himself and his intuition. Happy that his words and pleas in disguise have had the desired effect. There is no way Auron can miss his night and first victory as an Abes !  ❛ I knew it~ ❜  he chants happily, moving back to the kitchen area, recollecting where he left the bunch of tickets.  ❛ I’d have never forgiven him if he wasn’t there, never ! ❜
