Gulmohar director Rahul V. Chittella on Manoj Bajpayee's Special Mention win at the 70th National Film Awards: "It's an honour to know that his fourth National award is for this very beloved film"

Gulmohar, a heartwarming family film produced by Star Studios, won Best Film (Hindi), Best Dialogues, and a Special Mention for Manoj Bajpayee at the prestigious 70th National Film Awards. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to the crew today.

Bikram Duggal, Head of Studios, Disney Star, said after receiving the National Film Awards 2024 for Gulmohar, "It has been an absolutely incredible experience to be part of India's most prestigious film awards ceremony and to receive the National Award today for Gulmohar from our President Smt. Droupadi Murmu." Stories that touch profoundly and bring families together are especially vital in today's digital age, and Gulmohar is just that, with its wonderful story. I express our heartfelt gratitude to Rahul Chittella for his outstanding directorial debut, and we are equally happy to have worked with India's best talent to deliver this story to the globe."

Director Rahul V. Chittella remarked, "It's an absolute honor to receive the highest recognized Indian film award for Gulmohar from the Honorable President herself." My entire team is ecstatic because it is a wonderful poetic completion of where we started this adventure together. I'd want to thank Bikram Duggal and the entire Star Studios team for their unwavering support and strength since the beginning. Along with winning Best Hindi Film and Best Dialogues with my co-writer, Arpita Mukherjee, I'm really pleased that Manoj Bajpayee got Best Actor (special mention) It's an honor to learn that his fourth National Award is for this popular film. He's a unique talent, and it's been an honor to work on this project with him and the famous Sharmila ji! I am extremely happy to have such a lovely film family!".

Gulmohar, directed by Rahul V. Chittella, stars Padma Bhushan and National Award-winning actress Sharmila Tagore (who returns to cinema after a decade with this film), National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee, Simran, Suraj Sharma, and National Award winner Amol Palekar in lead roles.

Gulmohar is a Star Studios production, in collaboration with Chalkboard Entertainment and Autonomous Works. Siddhartha Khosla (This is Us) composed the film's original music. Gulmohar, directed by Rahul V. Chittella and written by him and Arpita Mukherjee, is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
