diary entry, monday, 8th of july 2024
guess who came back from the deepest pits of hell to the world of living
i have no idea when was the last time i stopped to think about and reminiscent on my current daily life, new stuff, what was i up to and shit like that, everything is going so so fast and like 99% of time i have no idea what am i even doing. i’m tired, i’m struggling, i’m getting better and i keep getting up every day and that counts
the hell exams period was? my days pretty much consisted of school-work-sleep (if the derranged fucked up not-routine i was pulling off can be called that) on repeat.
- i started working in a coffee shop (real fancy shit- specialty coffee from the forest, boss is a little fucking arrogant bitch (she’s a joke fr) but colleagues are great tho) (it also made me a coffee snob- my greatest nightmare came true) so i’m living the ultimate college experience now
- when i was not at work i was deep down buried in school stuff, and i also went through this four weeks of school internship during the exams, since i refused to complete it in summer, which made me absolutely exhausted to death (had to wake up really fucking early for it) and the studying couldn’t go any slower.
- so i was sleep deprived, frustrated, annoyed and oversensitive for like two months straight (gay) the only people whose companny i could stomach without worrying about my social battery were my flatmate (we were absolutely in it and dying together, shout out to her for always knowing exactly what am i going through) and our friend from highschool (she’s the best, shout out to her for having all those study dates with me and motivating me to productivity, you’re a real one babe, and the girl walks for mental health after almost every session) (and shout out to star girl for even if so far, still always here (if you’re reading this, thank you, you are the best and i’m very grateful for you)
the end of the exams were rather fiasco-esque but i got through it, thank fucking god
anyway, to the fun stuff, during the semester, i had this little sidequest going on, which was doing pixel graphics for my friend’s game. mind you, i’ve never done pixel graphics before. but it was absolutely a fun thing to learn and do. i didn’t think i would enjoy it as much as i did
i also quite lived the social life, some events i enjoyed more than other, but it was lovely anyway. met some new people, saw some of my favourite people too, family time was there as well
culture wise it was not boring either, galleries, trips with friends, exploring the big city, etc etc, you name it
had my birthday somewhere in between too (broke the “i always cry on my birthday because something always fucks up and that’s why i hate them” curse)(got some of the best gifts ever too, like i’m actually so emotional, the best of them all? the new abnormal (my favourite album ever) vinyl - honestly fuck my flatmate for that, i will never top that gift)
i also kind of stole my mother’s old camera (she wasn’t using it anymore, shame on her, honestly) so i’m currently learning how to work with it
got new tattoos
i became an insane plant mom, i have so much of them now fr. two of my plants died, i really tried to save them tho, rip. and another one’s really sick now and i’m getting desperate, because i have no ideas on how to save her left. but the rest is good well and thriving
i haven’t been able to read much lately, if i finally could find the time for it, there was no energy left, so it was a bit weak on that front. but, i did read something, if i have some czech babes here - srpny, jakub stanjura (trust me, it will ruin you, it’s really good) and i started to rereading the trials of apollo (never finished it in the first time, so that’s what the goal now) and i absolutely stopped reading fanfictions (a tragedy, really, i miss it) and i haven’t played any game in weeks either (miss that too). i’m currently trying to catch up those things, since i have a bit more time sans the school
even though i haven’t got time for much of my hobbies lately, i did manage to develop a new one, it’s an obsession at this point tbh. formula one, guys. actually my brother follows it for quite some time now (we can be talking years probably) and i always was like “yeah, whatever.” but somehow, i don’t even know how, these fucking f1 reels kept showing on my instagram and i was like “wow that’s actually kind of funny and definitely cool” and then “let’s go watch dts, to see what the buzz is about” which i enjoyed at first but started to lowkey hate it, seems like a unnecessary soap opera to me, and so i decided to fuck it and just buy the subscription, so i (and my brother in extension, of-bloody-course) can watch the races and other stuff. and i absolutely live laugh love it
- fun fact: it actually helped me a lot to keep motivated. i had it on the background quite often during studying and the buzz, passion, enthusiasm and the fast shit made me buzzing too and kept me motivated, because it sparked my sport’s soul and you know how it is, once a competitor, always a competitor, “if they can drive those fucking fast cars and go through all that, i can study the fuck out of this shit” so yeah, that was and unexpected but rather great turn of events
(i would also like to apologise to everyone i ghosted and/or took ages replying to, here, my friends, my bachelor thesis leader… little miss girl was having a hard time to keep herself going guys, i’ll get better again, i promise, or i’ll certainly try to)
i’m also learning and trying to cook more, i never was really bad at it, but i also never cooked much, so i would like to improve my skills and experience. it always takes my mind off things and i find it quite therapeutic, so yeah
also my reading goal is waiting for me and i can’t wait to get back to the stack of unfinished/unread books again
i have my summer mostly planned out, going to visit some cool places too, can’t wait
i wish i could say i’m happy but life is still playing chess with me and i’ve always been terrible at chess no matter how many years i went to the chess club. but yeah well, you gotta keep going right? try to look out for yourself, keep fighting and stuff like that huh? i’ll be alright, we all will
summer’s here guys, let’s enjoy the shit out of it, i had enough of survival mode
+ current music obsessions:
- touch tank - quinnie
- so high school - t swift (dunno how that happened, smh, it’s so bad fr, but i’m vibing, let the girl vibe)
- gasoline - måneskin
- bon appétit - katy perry (yep)
- moth to a flame - swedish house mafia, the weeknd
- stargazing - myles smith
- birds of the feather - billie eilish
also my favourite playlists lately here: f1 vibes , summer vibes and sunset vibes

Mohl a taky ji rázem spořádal.

Czech Republic under fire over solar subsidy cuts
The Czech government’s proposed cut in subsidies for solar power sparked heated debate, as the move would undermine investor confidence and could also breach EU law, according to Euractiv.
The Czech Republic plans to retroactively cut subsidies for grid-connected photovoltaic power plants in 2009 and 2010, which have long received significant financial support. Measures presented by Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura include introducing individual controls on the internal rate of return (IRR) of such plants.
Stanjura added that solar power plants built in 2009 and 2010 were “financially overcompensated” and that the measures would save taxpayers money. However, The Czech Solar Association notes that support for renewable energy has already been cut ten times, most recently in 2021. The association also claims that the Czech government said in 2021 that there would be no further changes, according to executive director Jan Krčmář.
Breaking a given promise is a very worrying signal for current operators of renewable energy sources and investors in all other sectors. It leads to a loss of trust in the functioning of the rule of law in the Czech Republic and the stability of the Czech business environment.
In 2017, the European Commission analysed solar subsidies for Czech solar power plants connected in 2009 and 2010 and concluded that the support was not excessive.
In addition to the goal of saving taxpayers money, the Czech government argues that it needs to allocate funds to cover the costs of the massive floods that hit the country in September. The devastating floods caused widespread damage and require significant financial resources to rebuild.
As the Czech Republic is forced to increase the share of renewable energy sources, reducing support for solar power could hinder progress towards the 2030 target of 30 per cent, Ondřej Pašek, an energy expert at Hnutí DUHA-Friend of the Earth Czech Republic, stated.
Jeopardising the operation of photovoltaic plants and unsettling investors in renewable energy means slowing down our transition away from fossil fuels. The damage caused by such an approach will be significant not only for the state budget but also for every household and our children. A short-term attempt to save money could backfire.

Romanian government announces it is pulling out of “Russian” IIB
Romania will start procedures to withdraw from the International Investment Bank (IIB), the Romanian government announced on February 26.
"Romania is about to start the procedures for withdrawing from the International Investment Bank,” announced government spokesman Dan Carbunaru on February 26.
The leader of Romania’s ruling National Liberal Party Florin Citu has also argued in favour of the country pulling out of the IBEC as well.
Florin Citu, at that time prime minister, said last year that Romania will no longer participate in the capital increase of the IIB, claiming that the country “has nothing to gain” from participating in a bank “controlled by Russia”. "There are several things we are looking at. We will start to look at who decided that it is good for Romania to invest millions of euros in a Russian bank," Citu said at the time.
The Czech Republic has called on EU states to withdraw from the Russian-dominated financial institutions, the International Investment Bank (IIB) and the International Bank for Economic Co-operation (IBEC).
On Friday, the Czech finance ministry confirmed that Czechia will accelerate its planned exit from the IIB and IBEC. "We are taking concrete steps to accelerate termination of our membership in the two post-Soviet banks, preferably in coordination with other member states," said Finance Minister Zbynek Stanjura. The ministry will look at how to give notice in banks, which would lead to departure within two to three months.
The ministry said that the Czech government does not see economic benefits in remaining in these two institutions. "On the contrary, we strongly perceive that our participation (in banks) raises security policy questions among our Western allies, which also need to be dispelled in the context of the current Russian invasion of Ukraine," it said.
The Hungarian opposition has also called for withdrawal from the IIB, which moved its headquarters to Budapest in 2019. Hungary, which re-joined the IIB in 2015, is now the lender's second-biggest of the nine shareholders.
"As a member of the EU and Nato, [Prime Minister Viktor Orban] should condemn [Russian President Vladimir] Putin's aggression against Ukraine and join EU sanctions against Russia by suspending the expansion of the Paks power plant and expel with immediate effect the Russian spy bank", Marki-Zay said on February 24, referring to Budapest-based International Investment Bank (IIB). The bank has been regulary criticised by Western security experts for being a potential security risk, particularly for the way that its staff in Hungary have been granted diplomatic immunity,
The IIB is a development bank set up during the communist era and later revived by Russia. IIB provides loans to companies from member states. Its shareholders are Bulgaria, Cuba, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Mongolia, Romania, the Russian Federation, Slovakia and Vietnam. Last year it made a profit of €7.9mn, up 8%, and had assets of €1.8bn, up 20%.
IBEC provides targeted support for export and import operations in the member countries of the bank by providing loans and participating in syndicated transactions. IBEC members are Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Vietnam. It had assets of €749mn last September.

Hungary left isolated as all other EU states announce they are quitting IIB and IBEC
The trickle of countries leaving the Russian-dominated International Investment Bank (IIB) and the the International Bank for Economic Cooperation (IBEC) has now become a flood.
The Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Romania have announced that they will quit the two Soviet-era international banks because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, leaving Hungary – which hosts the IIB’s headquarters – isolated as the only EU country which remains. Poland already quit the IIB in 2000 but now aims to leave the IBEC, which reportedly is now set to be wound up because of the exodus of members.
"Due to the ongoing and escalating, unjustified, unprovoked and ruthless military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine… we decided to take steps to stop participating in the International Bank for Economic Cooperation and the International Investment Bank," the countries said in a joint statement.
The Moscow-based IBEC and IIB – which moved its headquarters to the Hungarian capital Budapest from Moscow in 2019 – were set up by the Soviet Union to facilitate trade and investments in the communist bloc.
The Hungarian opposition has also called for withdrawal from the IIB. Hungary, which re-joined the IIB in 2015, is now the second-biggest of the lender's nine shareholders.
"As a member of the EU and Nato, [Prime Minister Viktor Orban] should condemn [Russian President Vladimir] Putin's aggression against Ukraine and join EU sanctions against Russia by suspending the expansion of the Paks power plant and expel with immediate effect the Russian spy bank," Marki-Zay said on February 24, referring to the Budapest-based IIB. The bank has been regulary criticised by Western security experts for being a potential security risk, particularly for the way that its staff in Hungary have been granted diplomatic immunity.
The Czech government – which had previously announced it would accelerate its planned departure from the two banks – decided on March 3 that the Czech Republic will immediately terminate its membership of the IIB and the IBEC, as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the possibility that Russia could use both institutions to circumvent sanctions, said Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.
"These banks were established during the period of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CEMAC) and some of them are at risk of being used by Russia to circumvent sanctions. It is necessary to leave as soon as possible," Fiala said, as quoted by the Czech News Agency. "For IBEC, the departure of [Czechia, Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary] will mean its termination," the prime minister added.
According to Czech Finance Minister Zbynek Stanjura, membership in these institutions brings Czechia no economic benefits. “Both banks are relics of a bygone era. The impact of the termination of membership on Czech businesses will be minimal. We are also co-ordinating all actions with other EU member states that are also members of the IIB or IBEC," said Stanjura.

Dnevno.hr Foto : Zoran / TV Wien Read the full article
