Monel Blind Flanges are manufactured without a bore and used to blank off the ends of piping, Valves and pressure vessel openings. From the standpoint of internal pressure and bolt loading, blind flanges, particularly in the larger sizes, are the most highly stressed flange types. A Blind flange is round plate which has all of the relevant boltholes but no center hole, and because of this feature this flange is used to close off the ends of a piping systems and pressure vessel openings. It also permits easy access to the interior of a line or vessel once it has been sealed and must be reopened.
However, most of these stresses are bending types near the center, and since there is no standard inside diameter, these flanges are suitable for higher pressure temperature applications.
Monel Blind Flanges are used for testing the flow of gas or liquid through a pipeline or vessel. It helps to close the end of piping systems or vessel openings. It allows easy access to the pipeline when there is a requirement to work done inside the line. They are used in high pressure applications available in all grades, materials, size and specifications. Blind pipe flanges are typically provided with a raised face, flat face, or RTJ facing. When a raised face is necessary for blind pipe flanges, the standard height is 1/16" for blind pipe flanges under 400 ( 2.4360)#. For blind pipe flanges of 400 ( 2.4360)# and up, the standard blind pipe flange raised face height is 1/4".

WP316L SMLS Stub End
What are they?
WP316L SMLS STUB ENDs are fittings used in place of welded flanges where rotating back up flanges are desired.
They are also called Lap Joints and Vanstone Flared Laps.
How do they work?
A rotating back up flange seats itself against the back surface of the Stub End. When bolts are added, the clamping action of the bolts presses the rotating back up flange against the back of the Stub End. The gasket surface of the Stub End then presses against a gasket and another gasket surface providing joints like standard flange joints. The seal is made by the gasket surface of the stub end alone, the flange only provides the clamping pressure on the joint.
Why?
Since Stub Ends are made from material compatible with the designed piping system, back up flanges do not have to be made from the same material. The flange can be made from less expensive material because it never comes in contact with the process fluid.

Weld Neck Flanges:
A Weld Neck Flange is also commonly referred to as a Tapered Flange or a High-Hub Flange. Slip-On-Flanges:
A Slip-on flange is nothing but a ring placed over a pipe end. The flange face extends a certain distance to apply a welded bead to the inner diameter (ID) of the pipe. As the name of the flange suggests, these flanges slip over the pipe, so the size of the flange is larger than the outer diameter (OD) of the pipe such that the ring of the flange fits snugly around the pipe. Therefore, slip-on flanges are ideally used for low-pressure applications.
Threadez Flanges:
The threaded flanges are very similar in appearance to slip-on flanges. However, one of the primary differences between a threaded and a slip-on flange is that a threaded flange has a bore that matches the inner diameter of the pipe. As their name suggests, threaded flanges have tapered pipe threads on the bore of the flange, making it ideal for pipes with small diameters and a high-pressure flow of gases and liquids. The main advantage of threaded flanges is that no welding is required.
Lap Joint flanges:
A Lap Joint flange is similar to a Slip-On flange, except for the radius at the intersection of the bore and the flange face, which enables the stub end. The Lap Joint flange, which can slide over the pipe, is attached to the stub end with the help of bolts. The Lap Joint flange can be made of lower quality material compared to the stub, and hence, Lap Joint flanges offer an economical mechanical connection, reducing the overall cost of the piping system.
Blind Flanges:
The blind flange is one that does not have a hub or a bored center. It has the face thickness of a flange, a matching face type, and a similar bolting pattern. Furthermore, a blind flange can be used to seal a nozzle opening on a pressure vessel. Additionally, a blind flange is useful for making repairs to a pipeline further up the line. As a matter of fact, a blind flange can be built into a pipeline during construction. In this way, the pipeline can be expanded or extended simply by adding to the final flange.

UNS32750 GR2507 Stub End
What are they?
UNS32750 SAF2507 Stub Ends are fittings used in place of welded flanges where rotating back up flanges are desired.
They are also called Lap Joints and Vanstone Flared Laps.
How do they work?
A rotating back up flange seats itself against the back surface of the Stub End. When bolts are added, the clamping action of the bolts presses the rotating back up flange against the back of the Stub End. The gasket surface of the Stub End then presses against a gasket and another gasket surface providing joints like standard flange joints. The seal is made by the gasket surface of the stub end alone, the flange only provides the clamping pressure on the joint.
Why?
Since Stub Ends are made from material compatible with the designed piping system, back up flanges do not have to be made from the same material. The flange can be made from less expensive material because it never comes in contact with the process fluid.
UNS32750 GR2507 Stub Ends' Types
UNS32750 GR2507 Stub Ends are typically manufactured by two methods. Type A & B Stub Ends are made similar to forged fittings such as Elbows and Flanges. Type C Stub Ends are made by forming pipe to the desired dimensions.
