Book 2:- Chapter 1 Meet Eletha Uthasanera the Saltwater crocodile man
We're back in Ramul Zurko and it's time to play the character you all voted on. Meet Eletha Uthasanera
We spawn in on the Elven isles of the East
Oh, nearly forgot my furry friends!
Now let's go talk to the elves.
There they are in the trees.
I have a useless conversation
In the mean time I'll wait under this tree.

Chapter 7: In Which Ases Challenges a Lady Saviorglows to a duel
Well despite my best efforts and closely contested vote it appears there is a winner.
oh dear [Descriptions of gory violence ahead a lot of them]
A quick ask round gives me the location of the local ruler of Livingfolded.
Unfortunately, I am interrupted. A tall woman wielding copper mace surprises me on the road through town and...
She's armed and dangerous
Come on, my weapon.
OHNO
And just like that it's over.
So that's the end of Ases
Time for vengence.

Hypothesis: Biologically immortal (ie without MAXAGE token) sophonts can become necromancers.
Attempt 1:
Storming the Tower.
The wiki suggests attacking head-on I'm sure this can't go wrong. I create a goblin demigod called Tobul and gear up.
So far so good:
One zombie down, then
It's over. but there is more to come

Glovedburies had half a dozen dwarves die to beatings before I got the proper facilities. The Baroness of the fort was just 13 when she killed a craftsdwarf for not making the mayor a totem he wanted. Checking the combat report it turned out that she'd fractured the poor Urist's skull on the fifteenth strike.
i was playing dwarf fortress and watching some of my miners in the caverns when i get this message in bright red text:
Kol Sigunerib, Cook cancels Render Fat: Unconscious.
naturally i think “what could POSSIBLY have made this guy unconscious in the process of doing kitchen work???”
so i zoom to the unconscious cook and am met with this.
the cook is in the kitchen in the top left, which is red because it’s literally drenched in his blood. there is actual fucking blood. bar brawl???
i check the combat report that apparently came in, and find the name of the person who beat him up: it was a wrestler gal from one of my military squads. she just fucking PUNCHED THE SHIT out of this cook.
and was exhilarated over it.
i proceed to have a bit of an allcaps outburst in #dwarffortress on the roguelikes discord.
then i decide to check the “Justice” status tab and… apparently there was a Violation of Production Order crime for which that cook got pinned. and the injured party? why, it’s the mayor of course. she was the one who issued the mandate that was never fulfilled!
the cook had to be taken to the hospital, that’s how severe the beating was.
this kind of shit can literally ONLY happen in dwarf fortress. what other game has such frighteningly complex interactions between characters???

The End of an Era
27th of Slate, 538
I left the game idle for a while and sent out several raids. Queen Ducim "Tiger-trainer" Wringmachine the Tame Requirement of Charm was among them as she was a skilled sworddwarf. I thought little of it. She'd been on the throne 3 years at this point and I had already seen her exploits before that as Glovedburies Champion, she was basically unbreakable and genuinely confident.
The Expedition to Doomgripped that fateful mid-spring claimed four lives. This may seem somewhat surprising to an outsider given that the attack was made in ratio of Goblins: dwarves of roughly 100:1 (not including civilians), but the Dwarves of the Lone Vestibule are hardy.
However, this Age of Goblins is cruel. and that is how Zasit Lancecastle the Closed has become King of the Lone Vestibule.
He earned the Epithet the Closed after he beat a few dwarves to death for not fulfilling production mandates and is a former member of our guard.
He's an odd King for sure, given that he is disgusted by power. A look through his profile reveals that he's got quite a reputation the Fortress militia and is the Master of two militia captains. His only friend is Urist Litastebal a fellow Marksdwarf, which is strange given that Urist doesn't really think much of learning and is instead emotional and romantic. The main I know him for is his scholarship as I often see him pondering diseases and social behaviour in the library. Yes, a strange king indeed.

Well I guess it's pretty safe to say that you won't have to worry about Megabeasts.
Playing dwarf fortress for the first time and putting everything on the highest setting is an experience. I don't know what an event is but so far it's year 80 and there are 205235 of them
#What the bootstrap!#To show the whole thing#Your poor computer#I once tried that and the game crashed at the year 700#It's going to be laggy#Legends mode would super cool tho#dwarffortress#I'd expect there to be a lot of Necromancers#Your dragons are probably critically endangered#StA: GoBC2: DF
