Tips for Business Start Ups: introducing the Patron Saints of Business Start Up
Every religion has its God(s) and every human activity has its own patron saint to pray to: if you’ve lost your car keys, a prayer to St Anthony can help you find them. If you’ve joined a lost cause, best pray to St. Jude Thaddeus and if you’ve recently opened a coffee shop and can’t find your customers, a call to St. Drogo (patron saint of coffee house owners) might put you back on the right…

Hey kind of a weird request but since it’s Sunday and y’all will (hopefully) be going to Mass: please pray for me; I have to set sleeves into a costume today and I’ve never done it on a human scale before. I’m pretty nervous and I can’t afford to mess up because I don’t have any extra fabric for this costume. Specifically if you can, pray to St Joseph (my patron saint and the patron of this blog!) and St Homobonus, the patron saint of tailors. Thank you!

Of Sarah and of Delilah
Of Aaron's Rod and Jacob's Ladder
God bless and devil be behind me
. . .
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
~Psalm 23:4, KJV
. . .
Thanks, firstly and foremost, to St. Christopher, for helping me cross the Jordan and the Zambezi and the Thames and all the wide rivers of life
Thanks to St. Luke for giving me the freedom to paint like Vincent and Picasso and Frida Kahlo
Thanks to St. Beatrix for keeping my candle lit in the depths of Africa and equally brightly lit back at home in Blighty and for all humanity
Thanks to St. Francis of Assisi for making me a lover of nature in all its glory and its myriad forms
Thanks to the Saints for I know not who I am
Thanks to the Saints for I know not what I do
Thanks St. Vincent for helping me choose a good red and also a sweet white wine - thanks for the food and drink, and for the ladies and gents
Thanks to St. Adrian for manning my army of words and making me a good soldier of the Lord, I pray Africa
Thanks to St. Justin for making me wise beyond my years and thanks to St. David for letting me wax lyrical like Yeats or Eliot, Wordsworth or the Bard of Avon
And thanks to St. Thomas for guiding me through the University of Life even on my doubting days
And thanks to all the Saints in the heavens above - St. Dominic especially - my friend and my companion through our collective living night that is today's modern world (and thanks for my telescope St. Dominic by which device I may touch the heavens)
Thanks to the Saints
Thanks too to the Lady Saints. Thanks to St. Monica who keeps my precious Mother safe
Thanks to the Saints
St. Catherine for schoolgirls. St. Nicholas for schoolboys
And St. Anthony to dig our graves when at last our Great Wheel turns
Thanks to the Saints
Thanks to San Francisco America, the north and thanks to São Paulo, America, south of the Equator
Rome wasn't built in a day and Homer sometimes nods
Thanks, at last, to St. Dorothea for keeping my garden green and my flowers blooming that all may see the light - and thanks, therefore, also for the blazing light of your candle, St. Beatrix, in the twilight of my years
Thanks to the Saints, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
For we no not, for we no not
Thanks to the Saints, Moses the Black and Our Lady of Africa, and bless the bed that I lie on Planet Earth and Lady Gaia. The world before us, hell behind us and the heavens above us, I, St. Africa The Great, do bless you all
Thanks to the Saints

Here are some random-ass Saints because I love a fanfic!
There is a fan fiction that I love a LOT called Patron Saint by @isadancurtisproduction:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/12367308
So the entire time I was going to school full time and suffering mental overload I kept thinking about who would be the Saints for each chapter, and who’d be Saints for Wade and Peter... sorry this is so late, but I finally have it all written out for you guys,, but seriously GO READ THIS IT’S AWESOME!
SAINTS FOR EACH CHAPTER:
1) street corners - Blessed Francis of Fermo (was killed on a street corner in an act of mob violence) 2)milkshakes - St. Cyrianicus the Executioner (when he was executed, milk flowed from is body instead of blood) 3) dignity - St. Sisoes, hermit (he had a good sense of all people and creatures having value and worth) 4) tailors - Blessed Benito Solana Ruiz (he was a tailor who was killed in the Spanish Civil War as a martyr) 5) heros - St. Michael the Archangel 6) high-tops - St. Aniaanus of Alexandria (he made and gave away shoes) 7) gilded rooms - St. Louis King of France (he was a king, so yeh) 8) sleep - St. Demetrius of Sermium (he had visions in his dreams) 9) overprotective husbands - St. Joseph 10) truth - St. Bonaventure 11) velvet - St. Homobonus 12) prostitutes St. Nicholas of course! :) 13) TVs St. Claire (she saw and heard visions of things on the wall of her room when she was sick) 14) espionage St. Joshua (patron of spies, espionage, and intelligence gathering) 15) gifts St. Nicholas again! 16) coffee (well coffee shops AND really ugly people) St. Drogo
BONUS SAINTS:
FOR WADE: St. Julian the Hospitaller - patron saint of hitmen and mercenaries St. Adrian of Nicodemia - arms dealers St. Barbara - explosives St. Genesius of Rome - torture victims St. Christopher - single men who're dating St. Drausnius - invincible people St. Philip Neri - Special Forces St. Ezekiel Moreno y Diaz - advanced metastasized cancer patients Wade sure has a LOT of patron saints ;)
FOR PETER: St. Felix - spiders St. Albert - scientists St. Catherine - spinners St. Maurice - weavers (Pete's webs could be either/both of those)
Chapters: 16/16 Fandom: Spider-Man - All Media Types, Deadpool - All Media Types, Marvel Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Peter Parker/Wade Wilson, Spider-Man/Deadpool Characters: Peter Parker, Wade Wilson Additional Tags: Getting Together, Getting to Know Each Other, Mistaken Identity, Secret Identity, Identity Reveal, Sex Worker, Prostitution, Self aware Pretty Woman AU, Pretty Woman References, Misunderstandings, Lies, Humor, shopping montage, Hotel Life, Galas, gate-crashing Summary:
Peter is desperate. Hungry and alone on the streets, he's ready and willing to do anything to change his situation, even if just for a night. And sharing a stranger's bed would be no hardship, especially when the alternatives include dumpster-diving for dinner and sleeping, arms wrapped around him, beneath a chilly and indifferent sky.
Then a man named Wade Wilson steps into his life.
