St. Dismas Feast day: March 25 Patronage: repentant thieves, prisoners, undertakers
Saint Dismas was the good thief crucified with Jesus on Calvary. This is what St. Luke writes about him: 39 And one of those robbers who was hanged blasphemed him, saying: If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering, rebuked him, saying: Neither dost thou fear God, seeing; thou art under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly: for we receive the due reward of our deeds. But this man hath done no evil. 42 And he said to Jesus: Lord, remember me when thou shalt come into thy kingdom. 43 And Jesus said to him: Amen I say to thee: This day thou shalt be with me in paradise. Luke 23:39-43

I'd like to request the good thief (He was one of the first saints. He was just a guy who got crucified at the same time as Jesus and asked Jesus to remember him when Jesus goes to heaven)
That's St. Dismas!! He's given a name in the Roman calendar, the thief who asked for forgiveness on the cross. St Dismas is brand new so you'll have to send in propaganda for him to get on the pre-schism bracket!

Dismas is honour-bound to a wild ingredient chase due to his half-asleep brain and morning wood since Reynaud begged him to help with the Annunciation of the Light's feast. Oh, if only the rogue knew how right his initial irritation was about how bad this day turns out! But what is a man but his word and fake reputation? So now he has to put his money where his mouth is, even if he had spent all of his money on booze and his mouth is rather busy with yawning.

While it has been stated elsewhere, this act of violence won't change anything about the healthcare system in the US, people are just reveling in an act of violence in all honesty all this does is degrade the societal fabric which we have built up.
You can hold the truth that the CEO was responsible for bad, even horrendous things, UHC is a terrible insurance company and murder committed against anyone at any time is wrong.
Besides, Christ said it best in The Gospel according to Matthew:
“You have heard that it was said to the men of old, ‘You shall not kill; and whoever kills shall be liable to judgment.’  But I say to you that every one who is angry with his brother shall be liable to judgment; whoever insults" Matthew 5:21-22
and as St John wrote:
"If any one says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen."
1 Jn 4:20

SAINT OF THE DAY (March 25)
Tumblr media
St Dismas is the man known as the "Good Thief" who was crucified with Christ alongside another criminal on Calvary.
He is described in Luke's Gospel (29: 39-43) as repenting from his sins and asks Jesus to "remember me when you come into your kingdom."
Jesus replied to him, "Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
How an unnamed thief came to be called Dismas is less clear.
One explanation is that early Syrian representations of the Crucifixion showed a sun and moon over the thieves’ heads.
Syrian coins also showed a sun and moon with the words “east” and “west.” And “dismas” is similar to the Greek word for east.
This feast date was assigned because, by tradition, Jesus died on March 25.
Often overshadowed by the Solemnity of the Annunciation, it’s no coincidence that these two fall on the same date, as it reveals that Christ gave up His earthly life on the anniversary of when he entered the world through the womb of His blessed mother.
Dismas is the patron saint of funeral directors, prisoners, repentent thieves, and the Diocese of Phoenix Office of Prison Ministry.

Who is Staci's confirmation saint?
For a fic I'm working on. Info on each saint below the poll.
St. George - soldier and martyr who died for the Faith; often prayed to for bravery or courage; patron saint of scouting and the military
St. Quadragesimus - a shepherd known only for raising a man from the dead
St. Sebastian - survived being martyred by being tied to a tree and shot with arrows, was later martyred by being clubbed to death; patron saint of athletes, archers, soldiers, and those affected by plague or disability
St. John - one of the 12 apostles, the only one to die of natural causes; patron saint of lots of things including love, loyalty, and friendship
St. Michael the Archangel - one of only three nonhuman saints, named a saint for his significant contributions to humanity's salvation; guardian of the Catholic Church; patron saint of lots of things, including death, soldiers, and first responders
St. Valentine - martyred clergyman; patron saint of many things, most notably love and marriage
St. Dismas - one of the two thieves who was crucified with Jesus, penitent for his crime; patron saint of prisoners (especially condemned criminals) and repentant thieves

Uncharted fanfiction 🗺️
Tumblr media
I recently moved all my old stories on to Archive of Our Own. I wrote an Uncharted fanfic years ago, here’s the link if anyone is interested who didn’t originally read it on my old blog.
Crossing Paths <—————————— AO3
Description: It was supposed to be a simple heist: attend the fancy gala at the Rossi Estate, grab the St. Dismas Cross by either outbidding the guests or stealing (or collecting as I like to put it), and slip out before I was noticed. Little did I know I wasn't the only one who had my eyes on the cross that night… Uncharted 4 - Sam Drake x OC

slides in. anyway. how was miss camila faring during the events of uc4
She's doin BAD.
Camila is still Rafe's little side piece (he doesn't know that her affair with Sam led to the Drakes finding out about the other St. Dismas cross but that's besides the point). She's suuuuper determined to find the treasure and works with Rafe and Nadine for most of UC4.
She's present at the Rossi Estate auction and while Nadine beats Nate's ass, Sam and Camila have a little Tussle.
She's with Rafe and Nadine for most of the story but her primary involvement is when they get to Libertalia. Camila shoots at Sam (this is not the first time but it is the last! so progress!) during their time there and he still has a scar from where it grazed his hip.
Rafe abandons and betrays Camila in the explodey mummy caves which results in her returning from a few side passages that connect back together, setting off a bunch of the explosives, leading to her and Sam escaping together. It holds Rafe and his few men off long enough for Sam to be like <3 i am mcfuckin going back for the treasure.
Camila rides back with the Squad in Sully's plane and a few days later is with Sully and Sam in their little scene and it's implied they'll all eventually work together :3c

SAINTS FOR MARCH 25
St. Dismas, the Good Thief crucified with Christ on Calvary. Feastday March 25
St. James Bird, Blessed, 1593 A.D. English martyr. Born in Winchester and raised as a Protestant, he embraced the Catholic Church at the age of nineteen. James visited Douai College in Reims, but he returned to England. There he refused to take the Oath of Supremacy and was hanged, drawn, and quartered at Winchester in his native city. He was beatified in 1929.
St. Harold, 1168 A.D. Martyred child of Gloucester, England. He was reported to have been slain by Jews in the area, and was venerated as a martyr. The veneration of the child martyrs is often considered as an example of the pervasive anti-Semitism of the period.
St. Robert of Bury St. Edmunds, 1181 A.D. traditionally, a boy martyr of the Middle Ages whose death was blamed upon local Jews. He was supposedly kidnapped and murdered by Jews on Good Friday at Bury St. Edmunds, England. As was the case with other reputed victims of Jewish sacrificial rites, the story of Richard is entirely fictitious and owes its propagation to the rampant anti-Semitism of the period.
Bl. Emilian Kovch, Roman Catholic Priest and Martyr. Parish priest in 1922 at Peremyshliany, Ukraine, a village of 5,000, most of whom were Jewish. An active priest, he organized pilgrimages and youth groups, and welcomed poor and orphaned children of all faiths into his home. When the Nazis invaded Ukraine, they began rounding up Jews. To save them, Father Emilian began baptizing them, and listing them as Christians. The Nazis were wise to this trick, and had prohibited it. Emilian continued, but was arrested by the Gestapo in December 1942. Deported to the Majdanek concentration camp in August 1943. There he ministered to prisoners, hearing confessions, and celebrating Mass when possible. He was Martyred in the ovens. Feastday Mar.25
St. Kennocha, 1007 A.D. Nun of Scotland, also called Kyle or Enoch. She lived in a convent in Fife, Scotland, and is venerated in Glasgow.
St. Lucy Filippini, Co-foundress of the Italian institute of the Maestre Pie, the Filippine. With Rosa Venerini, Lucy started training schoolmistresses at Monte Fiascone. The institute evolved from this work.Roman Catholic Nun. Feastday Mar.25
ST. QUIRINUS

Uncharted 4 a little bit? (Spoilers ahead)
Like I guess this is why Elena isn’t in most of the game cos she would clock Sam’s lie instantly. But Nate and Sully didn’t even think to check lmao. Sam just rocks up after 15 years where they think he’s been dead, and not only that he knows exactly where to find what Nate’s looking for (the St Dismas Cross). Anybody with an IQ above room temperature would find this really suspicious but nope not Nate hahaha
