I recently redesigned Commander Sidney! long story short I saw his N64 sprite n noticed he had nostrils (and prominent fangs), which made me realize he DEFINITELY was meant to have a long snout... but I’d been drawing it wrong even when I knew that much. So now he’s HALF horned lizard, half iguana! Spiny tailed iguana, specifically. Now he and Caiman have more in common! I think that’s sweet. Realistically Caiman is likely just another soldier under Sidney’s command, but I like to think Sidney has a somewhat fatherly bond with Caiman. Perhaps they do after the war, since I’m pretty sure they both survive their encounter with the Star Fox team.

The mechanical rabbit Caiman is carrying is actually my anthro design for Spyborg! can’t believe I didn’t post him here... I have expanded the anthro bioweapon squad to include Spyborg and Golemech even though they aren’t bioweapons or biological at all, but I figured they fit in since Spyborg talks but is not anthropomorphic, and Golemech is nonspeaking but ‘person-shaped’ (human shaped feels weird to say when all the characters r talking animals LOL)

Sidney sketches I drew to figure out his profile. The straight-on perspective of his talksprite is actually kinda beneficial in the sense that his profile can look TOTALLY DIFFERENT so long as I angle everything correctly... so technically I altered his helmet but it looks unchanged if you view it from the front, so it doesn’t really matter lol. As with his previous designs, his horns fold back slightly when he wears the helmet... though now it’s a bit more comfortable since there’s less horns and his skin is more flexible/baggy. 

I chose iguana as his secondary species bc I really like their profile/shape! I think this posture makes him seem more menacing in a way! I also feel that his sagging skin makes him appear old, but not frail like he appeared before. As such I also bulked him up slightly; I thought he looked too scrawny before n wanted more variety between my Venomians. I dunno why I made him skinnier than Benjamin before, he really ought to look stronger than him.

Spyborg sketches! since he was only an upper body before, he has disproportionately long arms. I wanted him to appear kind of bunnyish, so he has a pair of laser cannons atop his head that resemble ears! His third eye is meant to be red while the other 2 are orange, so his two faces are combined. I’m still a bit indecisive abt his arm structure so I apologize for these sketches being inconsistent in that regard LOL.

Made this piece inspired by @thatonesimp-e and their Spyborg AU!

I absolutely love the concept and the design for the spy in this AU, and I got hit with a very large dose of inspiration last night. I genuinely do not know if I could make another illustration so quickly, lmao (This one took me approximately 4 hours)

I felt very clever using that particular Engineer-Spy domination line, especially considering the concept of the AU.

And for those who don't get the caption... It's means that BLU Engie is the "dream" and RED Engie is the "nightmare" and his brain is starting to become so scrambled he's having a hard time differentiating the two.

Spy sat on the cold operation table, arm sliced open by Medic. The air hung heavy-the smell of copper infecting the air, and infiltrating Spys damaged lungs. He took quick breaths, tears forming in the corners of his eyes. He could hear a ringing in his ears as the room fell silent.

Medic was no where to be seen; He'd left Spy alone.

He could feel blood slowly trickle down his arm, and form dried out streaks. he'd hoped that he'd soon either die of blood loss, or that Medic would return to finish the surgery.

Medic fumbled around in his bag for a few moments, cursing to himself in German. He'd been attempting to fix a fractured piece of machinery inside of Spys arm when he'd realized that he actually had no idea what he was doing.

"Herr Engineer! I need your assistance, bitte!"

the soft sound of boots hitting wood could be heard getting closer, alongside Dell-who had held onto his helmet with his gloved hand.

"yeah?" He asked, panting for breath. his chest heaved heavily, making Medic take a small step back.

"I need your help vith ze surgery," medic started. "zhere is.. anozer issue vith Spy zat I vill need your help for."

upon returning to Medics lab, the two found that it was empty. not a single sign of the Spy anywhere. Archimedes flew down from one of Medics medicine cabinets, and landed on Medic-softly cooing.

"dang nabbit, damnit!" Engineer yelled as he threw his helmet down angrily. he sneered, looking around. "where the HELL could he have gone!? Medic-you. you did remember to turn on the battery on his back, yeah?"

Medic turned over to Dell, mouth slightly agape.

"vell.. I er.." He rubbed the back of his neck with his gloved hand, and looked over to Archimedes. "did you see anyzing my beloved bird?"

Archimedes gave a soft coo, and Medic nodded.

"I see.."

Spy took slow, sluggish steps; His arm hanging limply on his sides. His chest heaved as he attempted to breathe. saliva had run down his chin, and dampened his balaclava. He'd ran from the lab as soon as he was able to gather his energy. He shakily stood still-vision blurring. he shook his head, and looked around for any sort of exit.

He threw himself against a wall, feeling like he was going to collapse. He tried to slow his breath in an attempt to save his energy.

Spy pushed away from the wall, and took shaky steps towards a nearby window. the sun had barely been visible anymore, leaving a soft orange glow.

it had been a long while since he'd seen it. the warm, comforting light. He'd looked out the window longingly, knowing that-if he managed to pull off this escape-he'd finally be able to see Daniel again.

"oh, danny.." Spy managed to choke out. Tears again started to form at the corners of his eyes and run down his face.

then; In a sudden and swift moment, A sapper had embedded itself onto Spys back-causing sparks to fly off-and making him collapse. His body involuntarily spasmed and jerked as the sapper did its job.

The Red spy lit himself a cigarette, and closed his eyes in disappointment.

Engineer had never ran so fast in his life. it gave Medic a slight scare.

"SPAH SAPPIN' MAH SPAH!"

He'd tripped over a loose wood panel, and was thrown onto the red spy, who gave him a glare.

"Dell."

Engineer rolled his eyes and threw himself off of Spy.

"betcha missed that Jules, didn't ya?" Dell said in a snarky tone. "now what the hell are yah doin' my Spy?!"

Jules rolled his eyes, and took a long drag from his cigarette. the way Dell had said it made his heart ache in a familiar way he hated. He'd grumbled something, before moving out of Engineers way.

"I simply stopped him, Dell." He paused, taking another drag from his cigarette. "you're welcome."

Engineer growled, and pinched the bridge of his nose angrily.

He looked down at the convulsing Spy in front of him almost blankly-before he turned to Jules.

"why the hell did yah have to go n' do that?! you do realize his systems could be seriously damaged, right?"

Dell kneeled down next to the Spy, and ripped off the sapper. He tossed it away, and lifted up the still twitching Spy. He'd held him over his shoulder, and glared at Jules.

The Spyborg had let out a quiet whimper as a last resort. a final cry for help.

unfortunately it would fall upon deaf ears.
