The following video features footage from a recent Lucha Libre AAA event where female wrestler Goya Kong suffered a gruesome injury where she snaps her leg in half after a somersault dive off of the ring apron.

According to the UK Sun, Kong has since undergone surgery and is likely sidelined for 6-12 months, and will reportedly need a mobility aid to stay off of her foot. Kong has since resumed posting on her social media accounts, and is currently being advertised for upcoming non-wrestling appearances as soon as this weekend.

HARTFORD WOLF PACK BLANK GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS 4-0

By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack  HARTFORD, CT – The Hartford Wolf Pack hosted the Grand Rapids Griffins at the XL Center on Saturday night for the first matchup between the teams since 2009. Dylan Garand earned his second shutout of the season, stopping 21 Griffins shots on the way to a 4-0 Wolf Pack victory. Will Cuylle let the teddy bears fly on Teddy Bear Toss night, scoring at 6:57 of the first period. Tanner Fritz sent a pass across the ice to Cuylle, who fired a shot from the left face-off circle over the glove of Magnus Hellberg for his sixth goal of the year. The goals ties him with Tim Gettinger for the team lead. Cuylle’s goal gave the Wolf Pack a lead they would not surrender. The eventual game-winning goal was Cuylle’s second deciding tally of the season. The two teams had good looks in the second period, but the goaltenders denied all chances fired their way. The Wolf Pack peppered Hellberg to the tune of 20 shots in the period, a season-high, but the former Hartford netminder slammed the door shut. On the other end of the ice, Garand blocked six Griffins shots, sending the game to the final period with a score of 1-0. The Pack added three insurance goals in the third period. First, Ty Emberson uncorked a one-timer at 2:28 for his third goal of the year. Then, matt Rempe followed up at 15:41, taking a pass from Fritz in the right face-off circle and blasting home his second goal of the season. Fritz earned his third assist of the night on the play, giving him the team lead with ten on the season. It was his second three-assist game of the campaign. Turner Elson capped off the Pack’s scoring, finding twine at 17:33 to stretch the lead to 4-0. It was Elson’s third goal of the season and the first against his former team. Garand kept the door shut for the final two and a half minutes, earning his second shutout of the season as the Wolf Pack took a 4-0 victory. The Wolf Pack hit the road for a Midwest trip, beginning with a matchup with the Milwaukee Admirals on Wednesday, December 14th, at 8:00 p.m. The club will also visit the Griffins on Friday night and the Rockford IceHogs next Saturday. Jenkins, 23, appeared in 13 games with the Wolf Pack during the 2023-24 season after signing with the club on February 17th, 2024. The native of Jackson, MI, recorded three points (2 g, 1 a). Jenkins also appeared in five Calder Cup Playoff games with the club. Sucese, 28, recorded a career-high 23 goals with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves during the 2023-24 campaign. Overall, he recorded 37 points (23 g, 14 a) in 72 games played, which were also career highs. The native of Fairport, NY, finished second on the Wolves in goals and fifth in points in his second season with the club. The 5’9”, 174-pound forward has appeared in 220 career AHL games with the Wolves, Iowa Wild, and Tucson Roadrunners, scoring 81 points (44 g, 37 a). He turned pro on March 20th, 2020, when he signed a one-year, entry-level contract with the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes. Before turning pro, Sucese played four seasons at Penn State University (NCAA). During his time with the Nittany Lions, Sucese recorded 140 points (61 g, 79 a) in 147 games. He is the program’s all-time leader in goals with 61 and points with 140. WOLF PACK ACHIEVEMENTS RECOGNIZED BY AHL

The annual event was held in Rosemont, IL. Additionally, the organization was recognized at the 2024 AHL Board of Governors’ Meeting last Thursday night during the annual Award Gala in Hilton Head, SC, as part of the Team Business Services program. The organization saw a record-breaking season off the ice. At the annual Team Business Meetings, the Wolf Pack’s corporate sales department was recognized for seeing a greater than 90% renewal rate in corporate cash and 20% growth in corporate cash during the 2023-24 season. The organization welcomed an average of 5,456 fans to the XL Center in downtown Hartford throughout 36 regular season games during the 2023-24 campaign, the highest average attendance in over two decades. That resulted in being recognized for 20% growth in per-game group ticket revenue. On the full-season side, the Wolf Pack was recognized for a 90% renewal rate among full-season tickets and a 20% increase in per-game FSE revenue. As part of that achievement, the Wolf Pack was recognized at the 2024 AHL Board of Governors’ Meeting for the top revenue growth in season-ticket sales revenue for the AHL’s Eastern Conference. Individually, Wolf Pack Hockey Development Coordinator Mick Arena was named the Eastern Conference’s ‘Group Sales Rookie of the Year’. WOLF PACK ANNOUNCE 24-25 SCHEDULE

The club’s 28th season begins on the road on Saturday, October 12th, 2024. The Wolf Pack will face off against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA, at 7:05 p.m. This marks the third consecutive season the Wolf Pack has opened on the road. The Pack is back at the XL Center on Friday, October 18th, 2024, for the annual home opener. It’ll be the first of ten installments in the ‘I-91 Rivalry’ this season between the Wolf Pack and the Springfield Thunderbirds. The puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. October 18th will also mark the start of Hartford’s first three-in-three set of the 2024-25 campaign. The Pack welcomes the Bridgeport Islanders to town for the first of ten installments in the ‘Battle of Connecticut’ on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. The weekend concludes in Bridgeport on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. The Wolf Pack will play just three sets of three in three weekends this season. WOLF PACK BATTLE TO KNOCK OFF THUNDERBIRDS 6-4

By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf Pack SPRINGFIELD, MA—On Saturday night at the MassMutual Center, The Hartford Wolf Pack earned their fourth straight victory and a split of the 'I-91 Rivalry' this season. The Wolf Pack came back on four different occasions before eventually completing the comeback in the third period, winning 6-4. Brennan Othmann gave the Wolf Pack their first lead of the night 12:04 into the third period, scoring his 21st goal of the season. Othmann weaved his way into the slot before rifling a shot by Vadim Zhernko's glove. The goal proved to be Othmann's fourth game-winning goal of the season. The Thunderbirds opened the scoring 6:15 into the game, as Mathias Laferriere fired home his seventh goal of the season. Laferriere worked his way into the right-wing circle before beating goaltender Hugo Ollas with his blocker. Just 57 seconds later, however, the Wolf Pack countered. Othmann snapped a shot by Zherenko's glove from the left-wing circle, lighting the lamp for the 20th time this season. Victor Mancini was credited with the lone assist on the goal at 7:12, the first point of his professional career. The T-Birds regained the lead at 14:04, as the Wolf Pack failed to clear a puck. Matthew Kessel stepped into a blast that beat Ollas for his third goal of the season. Once again, however, the Wolf Pack had an answer. Jaroslav Chmelař potted his second career professional goal at 17:27, converting on a breakaway. Chmelař went backhand-to-forehand before roofing a shot over Zhernko's glove. The Wolf Pack pushed hard for their first lead in the middle stanza, but Zherenko held firm before things settled down heading into the final five minutes. Zhernko made 13 saves in the period, preventing the Wolf Pack from gaining a lead. Jakub Vrana gave the Thunderbirds their third lead of the night at 15:01, using his speed to gain a partial breakaway. Vrana drew a penalty on Nikolas Brouillard but didn't need the man advantage. He finished it off right there, going to the backhand and beating Ollas through the five-hole for his 16th goal of the season. The Thunderbirds were awarded the game's first powerplay at 17:20, as Othmann was whistled for boarding. After a solid kill, Mac Hollowell nearly sprang Othmann in on a breakaway after he exited the penalty box. The pass harmlessly fluttered into the offensive zone, or so it seemed. Othmann turned on the jets, collected the puck, and fed Hollowell. Hollowell cut to the net, went to the backhand, and stuffed home his third goal of the season at 19:31 to tie things up again. For the fourth time, the Thunderbirds took the lead. This time, a powerplay strike from Zach Dean at 2:50 of the third period made it a 4-3 game. Sahil Panwar had the Wolf Pack's fourth response, as he tipped in his first career AHL goal at 9:58. Blake Hillman stepped into a shot that Panwar deflected in front to make it a 4-4 game. Othmann gave the Wolf Pack their first lead of the night at 12:04, completing a three-point effort (2 g, 1 a). Hollowell picked up his 40th assist of the season, the first defenseman to accomplish the feat for the Wolf Pack since Andrew Hutchinson during the 2007-08 season. Adam Sýkora completed the comeback at 18:36, hitting an empty net for his eighth goal of the season. Ollas made 14 saves to collect the victory in his professional debut. Hartford concludes the 2023-24 regular season tomorrow with a trip to Providence to take on the Bruins. Springfield Thunderbirds (5-3 W): The Wolf Pack snapped a six-game overall losing streak, five-game skid at home, and four-game losing streak head-to-head against the Thunderbirds on Friday night. The victory also officially clinched the Wolf Pack a spot in the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs. Riley Nash and Mathias Laferriere traded goals in the opening period before the Pack took control of the game in the middle stanza. Alex BelzBelzile'sg-range shot beat Colten Ellis at 6:41 of the second period, giving the Pack a lead they never lost. Jake Leschyshyn tipped in a Nikolas Brouillard shot at 10:30 to make it a 3-1 game; then Blake Hillman made it 4-1 with a shot through traffic at 18:18. The T-Birds struck twice in 81 seconds to make it a 4-3 tilt early in the third period. Mikhail Abramov converted on a breakaway at 6:34, then Adam Gaudette took an excellent feed from Joseph Duszak and potted his 41st goal of the season at 7:55. The Pack killed the clock in the final minutes with suffocating defensive play and plenty of offensive zone time. Louis Domingue then sealed the deal at 19:37, hitting an empty net for his first career goal and the second goalie goal in Wolf Pack history. Sunday, April 14th, 2024, Vs. Charlotte Checkers (5-2 W): For the first time since January 10th, 2020, the Wolf Pack claimed a regulation victory on home ice against the Charlotte Checkers on Sunday. The win snapped an eight-game losing streak against the Checkers overall and a six-game skid on home ice dating back to October 29th, 2022. Casey Fitzgerald opened the scoring for the visitors just 43 seconds into the second period, scoring on a beautiful individual effort. The goal, FitzFitzgerald'srth of the season, marked the seventh time in eight meetings that the Checkers struck first. The Pack responded with a powerplay goal at 9:06, as Adam Sýkora fired a shot into traffic that eluded Spencer Knight. The goal was SýkoSýkora'shth of the season and first in ten games. Brett Berard then snapped a shot by Knight from the left-wing circle on a five-minute powerplay at 14:33, giving the Pack their first lead in six games over the Checkers. Initially, the call on the ice was no goal. At the next stoppage, the officials reviewed the play and determined that the puck hit the back bar and rocketed out, giving Berard his team-leading 25th goal. Adam Edström scored the game-winning goal at 16:28, converting a shorthanded breakaway for his tenth goal. Edström waited out Knight before lifting a backhander over the goaltender for the club's tenth shorthanded goal of the season. WOLF PACK DROP 6-3 DECISION TO THUNDERBIRDS

By: Alex Thomas, Hartford Wolf PackSPRINGFIELD, MA – Tyler Pitlick scored twice for the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday night, helping the team build a 2-0 lead on the Springfield Thunderbirds at the MassMutual Center. The T-Birds would score six of the game’s final seven goals; however, they took a 6-3 decision in the seventh installment of the ‘I-91 Rivalry’.For the second time in as many meetings, Zach Dean scored the game-winning goal for the Thunderbirds. Dean curled into the high slot and ripped a shot by Dylan Garand to break a 3-3 tie 6:50 into the third period. The goal was Dean’s fifth of the season and was the T-Birds’ first at five-on-five on the night.The Wolf Pack jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a pair of goals 38 seconds apart. First, Pitlick notched his second with the Wolf Pack when a Hugh McGing outlet pass hit a leg and came right to the veteran forward. Pitlick fired a low shot that Colten Ellis never saw to make it 1-0 just 10:57 into the game.Another turnover by the Thunderbirds resulted in a net-mouth scramble in front of Ellis. This time, Matthew Robertson jammed home a rebound for his fourth goal of the season at 11:35.The Wolf Pack got into some penalty trouble after building the lead, as Blake Hillman took a roughing penalty at 11:46, and Brandon Scanlin went for cross-checking at 12:24. Dylan Coghlan wasted no time on the five-on-three, scoring just five seconds in via a shot from the point at 12:30.51 seconds later, at 14:21, the T-Birds would even the game with a five-on-four goal. Coghlan’s shot was blocked by a Wolf Pack penalty killer but came right to Adam Gaudette. The veteran sniper quickly fired home his 26th goal of the season to tie the game 2-2.The Thunderbirds got their second five-on-three of the game at 7:31 of the second period and took the lead on their third powerplay goal of the night 15 seconds into the advantage. Jakub Vrana’s shot from the point was going wide but hit Matthew Peca at the side of the goal. The puck came right to Ryan Suzuki, who had a wide-open net to bury his fifth goal of the season to make it 3-2.The Wolf Pack refused to quit, however, and tied the game just 20 seconds into the final frame. Jake Leschyshyn intercepted a pass from Coghlan and fed Brett Berard in the slot. Berard’s bid was denied by Ellis, but the rebound came free and was jammed home by Pitlick for his third goal with the Wolf Pack.Dean’s marker at 6:50 broke the tie for good, however. Joseph Duszak blasted home a shot at 13:01 to make it 5-3, while Gaudette hit the empty net to seal the deal at 17:29.The win is the Thunderbirds’ third straight in the ‘I-91 Rivalry’.
