Sundays are for Spotify

Because we're fans of alliteration but mainly because there's nothing better to do with your aching hungover body on grey Sunday evenings, we've decided to start recommending Spotify gems every Sunday afternoon. Hopefully most of them you won't have heard and you'll feel like you've actually achieved something with your day! 

This week however we thought we'd kick things off with a bit of self promotion a) because I only just realised this release is on Spotify AND b) because both bands would probably really appreciate the pennies. It is of course the split we released a couple of weeks ago between Best Friends and their noisy house mates Grazes. The first half should cheer you up and the second will hopefully blow away any hungover cobwebs. Listen here.

In the same vein we'd like to encourage you to share recommendations with us as we've probably got nothing better to do each Sunday! Do so either on here, or Twitter and I'll probably give you a really crap 140 character review!

This is the first track on their EP, but it was the closer at their Cambridge show, and it's been moved to its rightful home for their full-length.

Asobi Seksu – Pink Light

They have a new album! I think it's a bit hit-and-miss, but it ends beautifully.

Freezepop – Afterparty

Boo, no extended version on Spotify.

The National - Mr. November

It's good enough for Obama.

Psapp – Tiger, My Friend

I miss Psapp. They went on hiatus when Galia Durant became a mother. I hope they reappear.

Not good driving music.

The Faint – Birth

Spotify misspells the title of their album Fasciinatiion, so I couldn't in good faith use A Battle Hymn For Children, which is great too.

Blood Red Shoes – Colours Fade

I'm in two minds about this. It does plod a bit, but it's just right for a certain mood.

Kaki King – Gay Sons Of Lesbian Mothers

This is completely out of character for the album, and for Kaki King in general; it's fun to see her play it live.
