Some Mermaid AU stuff with these little guys chilling at the sea

alrighty everybody, spooky day is coming up pretty soon and people are starting to put up some real decorations so i feel it’s my obligation to remind you of something!!!

turn off your lights after midnight!!!!! it can make things very difficult for nightcrawlers to navigate. bright lights outside of the stars and moon can be very disorientating!! species like vampires and werewolves (to name only a few) often rely on the moon and stars for night travel during the autumn as their biological compass, and when it’s disrupted, it can cause confusion, panic, or headaches (or if you’re over 8700 and in rare cases, temporary blindness).

calm lights (like blue or purple ones) are fine, but orange is treading a dangerous line (can be too close to harvest moons/lunar eclipses). for me, they give me migraines—i can walk through them to the manor well enough, but my flying buddies don’t have the same luck and are a lot more sensitive to light. an acquaintance of mine almost tore a wing trying to swerve out of the way of a jumpscare prop’s light (not to mention the hell that projectors can be)

please be kind and courteous of the creepy crawlers around you! spooky season is fun, but that fun only comes alongside respect for the entities around you, visible to the mortal eye or otherwise. by taking care of your spooky decorations, you can ensure the real spook lives on.

I've been yapping about fire ghouls too much.... so maybe I talk about earth ghouls...

Earth ghouls who're ambush predators. Earth ghouls who walk almost as silently as quintessence ghouls.

Earth ghouls who can't help but lurk just behind the corner when they catch a sibling out past curfew, following them around to... "keep an eye on them" in case they're up to no good.

Earth ghouls who have a bad habit of looming over the siblings from behind a hedge in the garden - tall as a tree with big hungry eyes and mouths full of sharp teeth.

Earth ghouls who grin as a show of aggression, the one earth ghoul trait Swiss seemed to get from being a multi.

Smaller earth ghouls who perch in trees or burrow under the ground and cover themselves in leaves. Bigger earth ghouls who can perfectly camouflage themselves in the dense forest on the Ministry's estate.

Something a little horror themed for mermay.  I think frequently about a mermaid version of that isopod that lives in the fish's mouth. And I also frequently think about how my platties whom after giving birth immediately started chasing their young.

Clark was never given a canon surname but I felt it in my bones that it would be Glitz. You can pry the wordplay out of my cold dead hands thank you.

Also, I imagine they are.. both weirdos. Relative to a regular member of society atleast. Clark's horrid fashion sense and Audrey's weird exotic pet thing really do spell eccentric.
