I’m sure a lot of our American followers are aware that USPS is struggling right now. We’ve both shipped and received mounted herbarium specimens through USPS in the past, and we’ve found that they’re reliable and inexpensive for this purpose. 

If you’d like to support USPS, you might consider buying some of their wild orchid stamps (like I just did)! Then you can send letters stamped with photos of orchids like Cypripedium californicum (California lady’s slipper), Hexalectris spicata (crested coralroot), Cypripedium reginae (Queen’s lady’s slipper), Spiranthes odorata (lady’s tresses), Triphora trianthophoros (threebirds), Platanthera grandiflora (greater purple fringed orchid), Cyrtopodium polyphyllum (yellow cowhorn orchid), Calopogon tuberosus (tuberous grass pink), and Platanthera leucophaea (prairie white fringed orchid).
