lied hard about only making 1 mario paint song BTW. I realized that super mario paint has way more features that make it easier to do these (as compared to MPC) so here's my all-time favorite sparks song, sherlock holmes

Who stayed up all night writing the rough draft for four chapters?
It was me.
I didn't even realize till the bluejay started screaming at 4, but then I was too deep. Going to nap now and hopefully this isn't trash when I go through for clarity later.

BOTD: Common Redpoll
Tumblr media
Photo: Ott Rebane
"One of the 'winter finches,' nesting in the Arctic and sometimes invading southern Canada and the northern states. Redpolls are tiny, restless birds, feeding actively on seeds among trees and weeds, fluttering and climbing about acrobatically, their flocks seemingly always on the move. For their small size, they have a remarkable ability to survive cold temperatures; their southward flights are sparked by temporary scarcity of food in the North, not by cold. At bird feeders in winter, redpolls are often remarkably tame."

BL “Censorship” & Commercialization
Content: 1. ubiquitous censorship - special focus on Japanese BL 2. commercial viability of live action BL & generalizations 3. solutions - special focus on state support of Thai BL 4. [update state-supported production of Love in the Big City series]
-
Censorship is a sensitive topic. I have tried my best. Please feel free to comment and critique.
-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-
History of Korean BL is one of censorship and commercialization and Korean fu-people has struggled against both. There have been different victors at different points in time. Aljosa Puzar’s "BL"(Boy Love), "GL"(Girl Love) and Female Communities of Practice and Affect in South Korea chronicles that struggle. (Highly recommended.)
-
I have tried to problematize BL commercialization before. But that was in the context of fu-culture and the commodity fetishism associated with the consumption of BL, particularly in live action form which is probably its most capitalist rendition for many many reasons.
Here I would like to look at it from another angle: censorship. This is a continuation of my earlier post (Why so many shonen ai live-action?) motivated by the live action adaptation of ‘조폭인 내가 고등학생이 되었습니다’ (I, A Gangster, Became a High School Student) by 호롤 (Ho Rol).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The live action has jumped genres switching from BL to 판타스틱 휴먼 드라마 (lit. fantasy human drama). This switch got it tagged as ‘Censored Adaptation of Same-sex Original Work’ on My Drama List. I personally don’t like that tag. Almost all BL adaptation is a censored adaptation, with notable exceptions like Sei no Gekiyaku. But no one uses that tag for, say, 25 Ji, Akasaka de (2024) which censored all sexual content, especially from the volume 1 of the manga which was critical to the story and the couple’s development in the original manga series’ and its multiple adaptations’ popularity. Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka (2024) went as far as removing the more sexual second couple from the live action adaptation all together, yet it does not get a "censored" tag.
An interesting question that the controversy surrounding High School Return of a Gangster (2024) has sparked is that of BL media’s commercial viability, especially in live action form. Here’s what producers told the Korean newspaper, Hankook Ilbo, about the genre-jumping:
"BL 장르는 제작비 투자나 리쿱(제작비 회수)에 한계가 있는 게 사실이다. 그러다 보니 처음부터 작품은 브로맨스로 해보고 싶었다"
“The BL genre is limited in terms of investment in production costs and recoup (recovery of production costs). So, from the beginning, we planned it as a bromance (beulomaenseu).”
The author of this article cites examples of works that enjoyed success on OTT platforms, namely Watcha’s Semantic Error and TVing's Unintentional Love Story (2023). However, the article also highlights the fact that BL continues to be a niche genre and live action adaptations don’t guarantee success.
이성택 (Lee Seong Taek), the director of High School Return of a Gangster, previously directed the BL Love Class (2022). The producer 넘버쓰리픽쳐스 (Number Three Pictures Co., Ltd.) have BL works like Unintentional Love Story under its belt.
Tumblr media

If the producer of one of the two most popular live action BL is admitting to it, then it is not easy to dismiss the issue of commercial viability of live action BL.
Very famous BL publishing houses (starting with JUNE) and hosting platforms with relatively lower expenses have struggled. Some of them are no more. It is also difficult for authors to survive merely on earnings from publishing houses and hosting platforms, especially when those platforms are not very rich. So, it is not difficult to imagine that live action production houses also struggle to survive.
Take GMMTV for example. They are probably one of the most successful BL producers. According to their managing director, BL content (series) is not a profitable business in itself. They rely on khujin (branded pairs) of actors to bring in advertisement revenue, merchandize sales, and pull crowds to concerts and fan-meets. It is not enough for actors to just act. They are expected to sing, dance and perform. Meanwhile, GMMTV is forced to keep working with these actor pairs and stick to templates that suit them. While it works for now, it remains to be seen how long the business model can last.
Now there is also investment from Mainland China that has migrated to other BL producers following dangai ban. But those who invest already burned themselves pretty bad with all the money they poured in during the short-lived but explosive dangai boom. It is sunk cost at this point. Another crack down could be the death knell for Chinese investments in BL.
-
More generally, it is likely that commercial viability of a live action BL project hinges on the following:
#1 Target demographic
Like all other BL content, live action too is primarily targeted at fu-people (BL audience) – both queer and non-queer. The target demography is further sub-divided based on the type of BL and purchasing power.
Sweeter ones are supposed to appeal to all ages and that’s the area Thailand and GMMTV in particular are focused on. Most of Japanese BL series are sweet. Korea too produces sweet BL. However, they are unlikely to bring in explosive success the way odo BL (those following royal road narrative progression – wherein characters face significant challenges, interpersonal or otherwise, to reach happy ending).
Older and, perhaps more hard-core fans, are likely to support jado works (BL that follow the evil path where neither happy ending nor resolution to challenges are guaranteed) with surprising frequency. This might be partly due to the erotic content in jado works.
Purchasing power of BL fans vary widely. There are those who are
“sending gifts to their actors in Thailand, sending food trucks to their shooting locations, putting up billboard advertisements and doing charity events [as well as] ordering merchandise in bulk.”
They also travel to BL producing nations [on fan pilgrimages] and attend fan meetings, concerts and other events regularly.
(Source: The Print)
The other group of BL fans who are probably younger and/or can’t afford to show support in the above-mentioned ways. BL commercially benefits from being appealing to those with higher purchasing power.
#2 Popularity of original work in case of adaptation
Popular BL novels, manhwa, etc. bring in a set of fans who are interested in the live action. Longer and more-acclaimed works are likely to ensure success of the live action given decent making and reasonable changes during adaptation. Semantic Error is a case in point. However, missteps during adaptation can have the opposite effect.
#3 Cost of production
It is difficult to get investment in the first place, especially with how niche the genre is. Moreover, higher cost of production sets the bar for success higher too.
On the other hand, high production quality and better cast and crew (likely more expensive too) makes the viewing more pleasurable and increases the likelihood of success.
There are other factors which influence the success of BL producers. The most popular BL live action from China, Addicted, was produced by the author, Chai JiDan, with a tiny budget. Its dangai family drama remake, Stay with Me, also has an interesting producer.

Orawan Vichayawannakul’s MeMindY is another BL author led production company that has enjoyed considerable success.
OP Pictures’ entry into BL genre has also been successful.

Solutions
#1 Let’s start with the worst
BL as money laundering vehicle. It is probably the most obvious, sort of win-win until it isn’t. Sustainability depends how much skin the ruling class have in the game.
#2 State sponsorship
(or better yet, tax payer supported BL production)
State sponsorship is what Thailand has perfected.

source | 2023 seminar on "Beyond Borders: Exploring the Global Appeal and Diversity of Thailand's Boys' Love Contents" by 9 companies from Thailand organized by Department of International Trade Promotion under Thailand’s Ministry of Trade.
The eleven speakers, including an official from the Office of Commercial Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy in Japan, vigorously pitched partnerships with Japanese content companies [at the above-mentioned seminar.]
Also, several of the companies pitching at the seminar, such as Star Hunter Entertainment […] were plumping for BL not as a niche product but rather a core element of their corporate strategy.
Halo Productions representative Tewarat Supunnium [trumpeted] the vertical integration of his company, from talent representation to contents distribution.

Thai BL has been big hits in China, South Korea, Japan, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and beyond, which has motivated Thailand’s government to ‘deploy Boys Love as its latest soft power weapon to promote the country on the global stage’. In an article published in The Nation, BL director, Bundit Sintanaparadee, explains how that affects production.
He pointed out that the international popularity of Thai shows can boost tourism and generate interest in the featured locations – a vital aspect of soft power. The government can facilitate this process by providing support and streamlining the bureaucratic obstacles to filming in attractive locations like Bangkok’s Chinatown district of Yaowarat.
Filming in iconic places such as Yaowarat can be costly and complicated due to the need to coordinate with multiple government agencies and pay location fees. Bundit said the government could simplify the process to benefit not just filmmakers but also tourist revenue in the locations.
Bundit also cautioned against a top-down approach to soft power, where the government dictates what represents Thailand on the world stage. He emphasises the need for industry professionals to have their say.

In a 2022 article, Bangkok Post explores the impact of BL on Thailand’s economy ‘as export products that can draw lucrative revenue streams and foster business opportunities in other areas, including tourism.’
[According to government estimates from 2021,] Thailand's Y content market was worth more than 1 billion baht... In June that year, the Department of International Trade Promotion held an online Y content business matching event to boost the industry, with the participation of 10 Thai content creators. More than 360 million baht was generated from the purchase of the Thai content, with the top three buyers coming from Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam.
Noppharnach Chaiyahwimhon, GMMTV's senior director of content production, said [that the] business ecosystem linked to Y Series in Thailand shows a growth of 30-40% per year. [He also said that] Y Series can also be a boon for other businesses, such as films, artist management and merchandise. [He mentioned] Y Series from Thailand [getting] translated into several languages [and one of their Y Series having received theatrical adaptation in South Korea.]
[According to] Kanokporn Prachayaset, chief commercial officer and country manager of WeTV Thailand, … Y Series from Thailand is one of the most popular content genres on its platform. [Half of all the BL content on the platform was Thai.] WeTV [was] sourcing Y Series from Asia as well as having its own WeTV original shows by working with various local production houses, such as GMMTV, TV Thunder, Dee Hup House, M Choice Studio and All This Entertainment. [She also highlighted the contribution of the fan base, which is] active in organising activities and campaigns for their idols.
Seksan Sripraiwan, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand's (TAT) Tokyo office, said the TAT and the Royal Thai Embassy have actively promoted the country by using Thai entertainment [and that] Thai BL content is considered one of the most popular recent cultural exports to Japan. Japan's market for Thai BL is around 1 million viewers, of which 20,000-30,000 are heavily active on social media sites for renowned BL actors, led by Bright-Win and Krist-Singto. He said Japanese tour operators already offered tailor-made tour packages which contain elements related to BL TV series, such as shooting locations like universities, cafes, Wat Arun or the Amphawa floating market.
Kanokkittika Kritwutikon, director of the TAT Chengdu office, said Thai BL TV shows have gained popularity in China, such as the coming-of-age series "I Told Sunset About You", which helped drive tourists to Phuket, the main location of the story.
"Most Chinese BL fans are millennial females who can offer long-term support for their favourite actors," Mrs Kanokkittika said. [Recognizing the 3 million strong queer population of Chongqing,] she said the LGBT segment could be categorised as luxury travellers as they are high-income earners, live in key cities, and want to spend more for travel experiences.

Earlier this year Ministry of Commerce have partnered with Be On Cloud and Idol Factory to promote ‘Thai products, services, tourism, and culture by incorporating them seamlessly into’ their new series “Shine” and “Pin Phak” aka “The Loyal Pin” respectively.
“This will help create around 2 billion in value for Thailand’s economy,” said Commerce Minister Phumtham.

Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai and two actresses, Becky and Freen, witness the signing ceremony between the Ministry of Commerce and Idol Factory Co., Ltd. on February 28, 2024....
According to the Department of International Trade Promotion, the Thai movie and series sector and related industries will generate 8,000 million baht in exports by 2023. In 2024, it will likely reach 10,000 million baht, particularly in the Y-movie and Y-series, which are expected to expand in value from 1,000 million baht to 2,000 million baht as a result of the Ministry of Commerce’s proactive cooperation with the private sector.

The Thai government’s efforts are paying off.
Oramon Sapthaweetham, director-general of the Department of Business Development, revealed that the Boys’ Love series had helped revitalise the film production industry, generating substantial profits and extending economic benefits to allied sectors, such as advertising, leveraging actors as influencers, event organisation, and tourism.
"Over the past 10 years, Thailand has produced over 177 Boys’ Love [series], continuously gaining popularity and expanding its customer base, eventually leading to exports to international markets," Oramon added.
The film production industry in Thailand is witnessing substantial growth. In the first four months of 2024, 56 new businesses were registered, marking a 12% increase from 2023. The total registered capital also saw a significant rise of 146.44% to 195.18 million baht. In 2023, the industry grew by 20% with 137 businesses and a capital of 258 million baht. The total revenue in 2022 was 12.895 billion baht, indicating a continuous growth trend.

#3 Diversification
Ok, so this is based on my limited knowledge and imagination. Feel free to skip.
There are two production companies that I have ever been interested in - Bhavana Studios and Mammootty Kampany. Both of them have produced experimental Malayalam movies while managing to remain commercially successful. While is partially attributable to these companies being brands, I think their overall strategy of diversification have worked in their favour.
Mammootty Kampany could produce art-house movie Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam for award circuits and with no expectation of commercial performance by banking on their other production Kannur Squad which was action entertainer sure to bring in the big bucks. Their queer family drama Kaathal – The Core and neo-noir psychological thriller Rorschach did exceptionally well in the box office as well as garnered critical acclaim. Bhavana Studios has similar track record of their commercially successful projects kind of cross subsidizing their experimental and unique projects and lifting the heat off in case of flops.
Having production companies which are aspirational in their approach to BL while having the economics sorted out help where government support is not forth coming.
Censorship as No-thing
When sometime is truly censored, we wouldn’t know. Unless we ask. Here’s what Jooyin Saejang learned from asking.
Conclusion
I have a strong preference for live action adaptations that are willing to go the last mile in terms of sexual content, social critiques and addressing real-life issues. That’s the reason why the header image for this BL side blog is from Moothon (2019).
But realistically this isn’t always possible. And I prefer having more production companies offering variety. I don’t want them to sink under the weight of BL that didn’t do well commercially and me being left at the mercy of media conglomerates with seemingly bottomless funds and monopsony over BL authors, original works and the culture that creates them.
Also, there is queer content from Korean that is neither mainstream nor from fu-culture. Support those. Unfortunately, Cheers by Cheers 짠!하면 알 수 있어 has been removed from their YouTube channel which is now called Cheer Up. While the series is gone, there are interviews with English subtitles.
Love in the Big City
Love in the Big City, the series and the movie are based on Park Sang-young's novel of the same name that was published in 2019. In Korea, it sold over 100,000 copies. Ever since, it has been translated into 15 languages, including English. The English translation by Anton Hur was published in 2021. The book has been longlisted for the International Booker Prize in 2022 and the Dublin Literary Award in 2023.
The movie secured an investor early on. The film was produced by Showbox and Tale Farming (고래와유기농). Michigan Venture Capital, a key investor, was responsible for 2 billion won out of the net production cost of about 6 billion won. Plus M Entertainment, a subsidiary of the JoongAng Group took care of its distribution. (source)
State-sponsorship for Korean BL !
The series, on the other hand, faced difficulty attracting investment as well as had trouble finding OTT platforms willing to air the show. It was co-produced by MerryChristmas, a subsidiary of WYSIWYG Studio' a KOSDAQ-listed company, along with Big Stone Studio. Mbrella Films provided production services in Thailand. They have received the state-support through Korea Creative Content Agency under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism amounting to 3 billion won as production costs support aimed at strengthening the global competitiveness of K-content through OTT.
Finally, TVING, a platform that has aired multiple BL projects previously (such as Unintentional Love Story, Jazz for Two, To My Star 2, The Eighth Sense and High School Return of a Gangster), aired the series in South Korea and the streaming platform Rakuten Viki promoted it as a BL.

You get kai and bonnie so much together and individually everything you say fits them in canon so well it's too bad the writers really fumbled with them because when kai showed up he was a breath of fresh air and the best part about him is he's all about bonnie that was new and realistic bonkai was their last shot at getting the vampire diaries interest back up again
AH thank you so much for this lovely message, you're so sweet!! Yes, it really is such a shame the writers fumbled Bonkai bc it rly did seem like they had some great ideas there in the beginning, but the execution fell flat :( I feel like Kai was a breath of fresh air not just for us fans but also the cast & crew! U could rly feel their spark of new excitement for a dying show when kai showed up bc i think they all sensed that he was unique and different from the tired, recycled plotlines they'd had since S4.
Ian in particular seemed much more interested in his scenes when Kai was around (and much more lifeless when he wasn't) and Bonnie ofc was *given* much more interesting scenes when Kai was around, compared to prior seasons. Even Alaric & Jo, who started S6 as rick's new boring romance of the season, became relevant, layered and interesting bc of their links to Kai. Like rick loved to play the hero & act like damon was morally beneath him in S6 but his need to protect Jo from Kai brought out a selfish streak that made him go behind Jo & her fam's back to make shady deals w Damon & Kai as long as it kept Jo safe! Even Jo was revealed to be quite crafty considering her backstory of how she tricked & betrayed Kai in 1994, which made her much more interesting than her early role as rick's bland gf.
Tumblr media
Even Liv & Luke were (im sorry) SO BORING in S5 but 1000x more interesting in S6 once their story got linked to Kai. His existence single-handedly linked so many disjointed characters & plotlines from previous seasons (like why'd they even bring Rick back after dying in S3? His relationship w Jo (and by extension, Kai) was the only thing that made him relevant for the rest of the goddamn show)! Even the Heretics were introduced to the show through KAI & the gemini/siphoner lore and fully lost steam as soon as Kai wasn't there to make 'em interesting!
As for Kai's links to Bonnie, ya i agree she rly was their last chance to make things interesting bc they'd already given Elena & Caroline "dark" romances that fans were too attached to to accept anything else (see: Delena being forced to stay together; Steroline forever being overshadowed in most fans' minds by Klaroline) so giving Elena & Caroline new pairings would've disappointed fans, whereas Bonnie was a blank slate they could've gone WILD with bc none of her canon pairings had strongly attached fans... yet they gave Elena & Caroline new romances anyway and scrapped Bon's romance with Kai :)))
That is what felt malicious. In S6 alone, they gave Elena who ALREADY HAD DAMON the new guy Liam, then gave Caroline the same guy Liam, Enzo (briefly) AND Stefan, whereas Bon *almost* got Kai & *fully* lost Jeremy in S6. ??? Any writer who paid half as much attention to her fans as Plague did (considering how much ott fan-service she wrote into tvd & how many twitter fights she got into w fans whose ships she disapproved of) HAD to have known her fans wouldn't accept Caroline/Enzo, Care/Stef, Care/Liam or Elena/Liam as much as they loved Care/Klaus & Elena/Damon. Yet she did it anyway bc she preferred LOSING FANS to giving Bonnie someone interesting!
Tumblr media
She even planned Kai to be Bon's love interest in S6 bc she thought he wouldn't be popular w fans & instantly torpedoed that once she noticed fans' love for him bc, as I said before, Plague PAID ATTENTION to her fans' reactions. So fans having lukewarm feelings about Steroline was enough to get 'em married, but fans LIKING Kai was enough to get Bonkai axed. It's a common joke that Plague saw Caroline as her self-insert (neurotic, hyper-organized blonde control-freak) which is why she dated more men than even Elena. But I think a large chunk of tvd's white teen girl fans saw Care as a self-insert too (bc w each subsequent season, Caroline was increasingly written & designed that way, which is why fans turned on tvd's original self-insert, Elena, & worshipped Care instead).
Her "im never the one, im not perfect like elena" insecurities made her a blank canvas for (white) girls to see themselves in, which is why she wins Miss Mystic Falls, why she's a privileged Founding Fam member, why she gets to dress fancy & go to Mikaelson balls that have nothing to do w her, why she gets ALL the men, why she becomes the 1st vampire to be pregnant, why she gets to marry Stefan (then instantly lose him so she can go kiss Klaus in the spin-off), why she gets to be tvd's last vampire standing, why she repeatedly gets to have her cake and eat it too. By presenting Elena as "perfect/ideal" & Caroline as an "underdog," fans naturally sympathized more with Care's "struggle" (even tho she repeatedly got EVERYTHING!) Based on this, Plague refused to let ppl like Klaus date Bonnie (which would've made sense) but shoved him w Caroline (which didn't make narrative sense) bc that gave her & white fans the chance to see themselves in Care & feel like THEY were dating Klaus.
Tumblr media
(Btw I wanna add that I actually do like & enjoy Caroline! This is a critique of the shadiness that went into *writing* Caroline, not a critique of Caroline herself)
Similarly, Kai was allowed to want Bonnie as long as fans didn't like him, but once he got popular, Plague killed Bonkai bc she believed that she & her (white) fans wouldn't be able to see themselves in Bonnie and feel like THEY were the ones dating Kai. But Kai was not Klaus, Stefan, Damon, Enzo or Kol. His character was CONCEIVED w Bonnie in mind to the point that erasing his obsession w her would make him not even feel like KAI anymore. And that wouldn't work bc fans wanted gucci kai, not walmart kai. Also, his general personality quirks were just not the type that would vibe w Caroline. Chris Wood said it himself, "Kai likes to be the one who talks, he doesn't like to listen, so I think Caroline might make him wanna snap her neck & move on" bc Caroline ALSO likes to talk. So writing him w Care would change Kai too much & writing him w Elena was not an option bc Delena was set in stone & Nina was leaving. So, how'd plague have her cake & eat it too? She refused to let Bon have Kai, and bc there was no other white girl who made sense for him, she kept Kai eternally single so white fans could eternally imagine themselves w him.
And uk what's the worst part? I don't believe all white fans would've necessarily struggled to see themselves in Bonnie if she'd dated Kai. I think Bonnie being the ACTUAL underdog struggler of the show made her very relatable to people, regardless of what your race is (esp bc tvd rarely addressed her race or centered any plotlines on it). I think Plague's own subconscious biases just made it impossible for her to fathom seeing herself in a PoC character, which is why she wrongly assumed all her majority white fans worked the same way & letting Bonkai happen would've disappointed them & made them stop watching. (But that being said, even if it was just a "business decision" to her... isn't it funny how disappointing masses of white klaroline fans didn't stop her from tossing Care at stef, enzo, whoever she wanted, but ONLY stopped her when it came to Bonnie's ships (bc she was looking for excuses to scrap 'em anyway)? Oh plagueee ur biases are showing, girlieee)

Fanfic Idea! (Very Pre-Lucemond or not, where Aemma, lives, but Alicent is pregnant) *warning: dark. And also, Aemma snapped here, so OOC is a possibility.
Also: Alicent is 17 here, the age in the books, and she is also as power hungry as she was in the books. Rhaenyra is, however, the same age as the show. Ignore my plotholes, this is just a long-winded prompt.
-----------
Aemma survived, holding her dead son. Already she knew this would be her last attempt. She would not go through all that again. And she isn't going to.
Apparently, while she suffered through her last trimester of pregnancy, her husband, the king, decided that he was so stressed that he would lay with any harlot that enters his chambers. And it seems this harlot in particular comes in the form of her daughter's handmaid and (former) friend. And it seems their multiple unions have bore fruit, because now the bastard Ott Hightower is pressuring him to take her as his wife and "deposing" her, for she is old, and could only give birth to a girl, meanwhile his daughter was young, and has many chances of giving him a son. They even went so far as to suggest finding a husband for Rhaenyra, someone like the Lannisters, for instance.
Aemma has suffered at the hands of men, at the hands of Maesters bought by the citadel, and now they wish to depose her? Her and her daughter? No, she would not allow it. She is an Arryn, but so many people seemed to have forgotten she too was also Targaryen. And since people keep forgetting that she too was a Dragon Queen, it seems she needs to remind them that.
So she spoke to Viserys, and with every word she used to stab him in the heart, she knew she had him in her palm. Guilt was a powerful thing, and Viserys, oh, Viserys has a lot to be sorry for.
In the end, despite Otto's insistence that his daughter be made his wife, Alicent did not rise to status. She was given a room in the palace, yes, but it was simple, one befitting a visitor rather than the person carrying a dragonseed. She was given guards and servants, yes, but they are not ones loyal to her, but to the Queen. She has no title given, nothing that could command respect. She was treated like nothing. And that in itself has ruined Otto's plans.
Otto honestly thought Aemma would die, so for her to be alive, a breathing obstacle, it has ruined his plans. He tried desperately to keep his daughter's pregnancy a secret. It cannot be revealed until Viserys gives her the title of Queen, even second wife would be a better option than no title at all. A woman with a child out of wedlock, no matter who the father was, would lead to their destruction. Viserys was usually so easy to control, but this time he is the one who feels powerless against Viserys, who refused to even allow him a private meeting. Time was running out, his daughter's belly was growing.
But he couldn't hide it for long. It was easy for Aemma to ask Daemon to do something for her, if it could destroy the Hightowers, he would do it, no questions asked. So the rumors spread. While the good Queen Aemma suffered in pregnancy, Otto decided to send his daughter to the King's bed. This sparked outrage, where even the Faith of the Seven did not hide their disgust. How dare you send a maiden to a married man's bed while his wife suffers in a difficult pregnancy, until the girl got pregnant herself? The Maiden weeps, the Mother is angered, and the Father greatly judged their actions.
It was not long before Otto was fired as the Hand, and Lyonel Strong replaced him. Alicent was still living in the palace, and the people began to wonder what the wife, what the Queen, what Aemma Targaryen will do to the woman who seduced her husband.
Aemma entered her room and acted so kind, so gentle towards her, to make her guilt eat her up alive. She recounted how her daughter often told stories about her and their adventures, how they talked about flying through the skies on top of Syrax, of eating nothing but lemon cakes. She smiled inwardly as she watched the girl cry. She had asked for forgiveness, that she only did her duty (she scoffed inwardly. A duty to spread your legs to whoever your father points at, then? Enough to get pregnant and refuse to take moon tea in hopes you replace me, then?).
And Aemma was so kind, of course she would help, how could she not? She knows the pain of pregnancy, of how ruined Alicent would be once the people would find out what she has done (they already know, she just doesn't know they do). She promised to talk to her husband to give Alicent something at least. And Alicent was grateful for that, so eager too. She can see it, the greed in her eyes. Maybe she believes she would be the second wife in the behest of the Queen? Keep dreaming child. For breaking her daughter's heart, for trying to take her crown, for fucking her husband as she suffered in pain, she would not let her have an easy life.
Soon, an announcement was made. The King was to bestow a title to Alicent Hightower. The title of concubine. Mockery and jeers left everyone's lips at that title. Concubine. A legal mistress, a legal bedmate with no power to control anything, always under the wife's control. And her children would remain as bastards.
Oh, her screams could be heard from all over the palace. She broke plates and cups, cursing the good Queen Aemma for lying to her. Stories of her raging was again told all throughout Westeros, and she was immediately judged for it. She was at least given a title, she would be well cared for in the palace, living luxuriously until the end of her days, yet she still complains? She curses the legal wife, the Queen? Is she insane? The Queen could have killed her and it would have been her right. Instead, she gave her a better option, and she calls it betrayal?
Queen Aemma still acted kind, inviting her to dinners, acting sad when she disagrees, showing the whole of Westeros that it was not she that was making it difficult, rather it was Alicent.
Alicent held hope, however. The child in her belly was a boy, she was sure. Soon, she will replace Aemma, be crowned Queen, her son would be legitimized, and she would punish Aemma in the name of the Seven for making her a concubine instead of a wife. She, a highborn lady of the Faith.
When the child was born, a boy, thank the Seven, she expected the king to grant her the title of wife, to name him Heir, to visit her and his firstborn son. Instead, it was guards and a servant who came, and took the child away. The Queen wished to see the boy. Alicent was too weak to refuse, and she was afraid, afraid that she would kill her son, she is still of Targaryen blood, she would not hesitate to kill.
She was not the only person who thought this. They watched as they brought the child to the throne room, with Viserys cautiously watching Aemma's reactions. Even if the child was a bastard, he was still his flesh and blood. When they handed the child to her, the court breathed in, waiting for her command.
Instead she smiled and caressed his small cheek. "The gods have finally given me a son."
And with those words, Queen Aemma adopted little Aegon II, legitimizing him and claiming the child hers and only hers. Alicent and her father could not go against her, despite Alicent's desperation.
Again, Aemma visited her with that kind look in her face. Alicent cursed her, tried to tear her apart with her nails, only to be held back by her guards.
"This is to save you, dear. No one would wish to marry a woman with a bastard. Think of the future, I will find you a good husband, and the child would be treated well. Isn't that the duty of the mother, to wish the child a good future? I'm giving both of you the best possible option."
Alicent won't hear it. That child was hers, her son. Not this woman cursed by the gods to only give birth to a spoiled girl! Her birthing a boy showed that she is more capable, more worthy, and that woman dare say that she would adopt him? Take away her chance? Take away her son and send her away? She won't allow it!
So she heavily paid the servant to bring wine, and another servant to call for the King. Unbeknownst to her, they all headed to the Queen first, and she told them to do as she says. When the King asked what she was planning, she simply told him that he had always wanted sons, and now he can make as many as he wished. As long as that woman calls, Aemma would allow him to go, pretending not to know.
When the King entered Alicent's chambers, she handed him a drink of wine, and the rest was history. Soon, she was pregnant again, and gave birth to a girl. Again, it happened, Queen Aemma took her and adopted her as her own.
Alicent was getting desperate. Her father kept sending ravens secretly (they were not a secret, Aemma and Rhaenyra already knew of it, and allowed it to go to Alicent) urging her to capture the king's heart. She was able to have king Jaehaerys' trust during her old age, she should be able to seduce this one. She was young, she was learned, and she can still give birth. Alicent is tired, but the hope was there. The King was still kind to her, and would give her whatever she wants. She was sure that once she showed her brilliance, showed what she could do for him, she would be free from the concubine title, and be given the title of Queen. She would be able to have her children then, and free them from whatever horrors Aemma must have put them through.
And so, she tried one more time. Again, she gave birth, another boy, and again, Aemma took him away. She begged the king to give her her children, to stop Aemma's cruelty, but Viserys acted awkwardly, saying that Aemma was taking great care of them, raising them as proper Targaryens. She snapped and screamed at him, asking if he was blind, that the Queen was stealing her children away from her. When she tried to see them, they refused to let her, and Aemma calmly explained that it was so she won't form attachments once she's ready to go. Alicent was beyond pissed.
And it was Rhaenyra's wedding to Daemon, in accordance to Aemma Targaryen. Alicent was invited, as always, but this time she deigned to accept, and wore the greenest of dresses to slight them all. She even stood next to the king.
The next day, she was placed into a ship and sent to be one of the saltwives of one of the Greyjoys, leaving her children to Aemma, who raised them with Rhaenyra, and also reminded them that Rhaenyra was their future Queen, and that they should defend her at all costs. When Rhaenyra gave birth to her children, Queen Aemma told them to protect them too.
When it was time for Aemma to leave the world, she smiled, knowing that her daughter's reign would be long.

Mallari is a good horror film. Piolo Pascual plays 3 characters and he is amazing in each of them. The story kept me glued to the screen. The audience screamed, cheered, clapped, and was very engaged from start to finish. Great theatrical experience. I hope it goes on OTT so I can watch it again soon.. it's a great historical gothic film. Not perfect but the storyline is tight and the different time periods are linked together perfectly.
Gomburza is a well-acted historical film. Now I understand why Cedrick Juan won the Best Actor award for MMFF 2023. He acted the heck out of his role as Padre Jose Burgos. Also, watching this film was like watching a character study - not of one particular named character but the character of a Filipino and how that term came to be and the spark of the revolution that would define our history. Don't compare it to Heneral Luna. That one was another great and spectacular movie, but its fire is different. Gomburza is more of a slow burn, taking its time to lay down the foundations of what the country fought for and the unifying idea that drove it -- the identity of the Filipinos.
Memorable lines include (paraphrased out of memory):
"No indio will rebel. We [the Church] taught them to be obedient."
"... ill-fated and cursed people?" (Malas at sinumpang bayan)
These were the lines that really made me teary-eyed. You already know why, considering the many things plaguing our country.
In any case, it's a movie everyone should watch. I also encourage viewers to watch it with a critical mind, knowing the role of the Church in the fight for independence during the Spanish colonial era.

Day 13: Do you think the era you got into or discovered Lolita influences your style?
Absolutely! Back in 2010, I stumbled into the world of Lolita fashion, right smack in the middle of the OTT Sweet era. At the time, I was curious if there was a more low-key, wearable version of this style.
That curiosity led me to an anime convention that year because I knew, with my limited knowledge, it was a way to buy jfashion at the time. I went there being a broke student and realized I couldn't afford anything so I bought a magazine to soften the blow lol. It turned out that magazine was volume 4 of Gothic & Lolita Bible from 2004.
The magazine became my fashion bible, literally. It opened my eyes to styles beyond Sweet, introduced me to timeless classics, and sparked my love for collecting Lolita magazines. Fast forward a decade, and I finally reached a point where I could fully embrace and indulge in the fashion.
It's been a journey of patience, passion, and a touch of serendipity, but that first magazine is where it all began!

I still feel like i have a lot more research to do before i set plans in motion... but i think my Lady Stede costume is a toss up between a robe a la francaise or a robe a l'anglaise. (the design comes down to whether im wanting watteau pleats, essentially)
from what i can see, most the dresses in the show (or the ones im looking to take inspiration from anyway) are francaise- Evelyn's dress & Mary's wedding dress clearly have the back pleats. but. the yellow dress Mary wears when she shows stede the painting (and Stede the boat) sparks the most inspiration in me, and ive watched the clips numerous times, and i dont think? it has pleats.
basically what im saying is the costumes in the show are a little inconsistent and also vary the style up, so im not bound to any one style. historically, im thinking that the people in Barbados would be drawing more of their styles from England, rather than France, but i still dont think that actually limits me, just something to consider in my research.
things i know i want:
engagantes (sleeve ruffles)
a decent amount of trim (though not too much, as none of stedes costumes are that ott)
a contrast stomacher (which means it needs to be open front, i think?)
...and thats as far as ive made it. all superficial things really, but important points to look for when im looking extants, i guess.
(some images from the show to show what im thinking about)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(& a francaise and l'anglaise if youre completely lost on what they are)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is all day 1 research, so i have a good ways to go before i really start to understand my options, but id love an opinion on what you think?

hi what if i wrote an itty bitty creelarke porn because i can. stuck on the idea of henry burning out light bulbs when scott gets him going just right
---
“Fuck, Scott.”
Scott curls his fingers, deep and menacing - and just a tad cheeky - up into his lover.  His other hand rests firmly against Henry’s hip, mere inches from where he’s aching for it - dripping for it, actually.  Scott can feel the angry heat of Henry’s cock ghosting against his knuckles, but he won’t touch him yet.  He can’t.  That was their plan.
“Too much?” Scott asks as he eases up on his prostate.  He gets the desired reaction: a high, keening whine hissing out from between Henry’s teeth.
“Don’t you dare.”
Scott chuckles, so warm that it makes Henry embarrassed when his dick twitches at the sound.
“Alright, alright.  Don’t get snappy,” he says lightly, so casual that you wouldn’t think he’s had Henry strung out for the last half hour on nothing but two of his fingers up his ass.  “I’m impressed you’ve held out this long.”
It’s probably meant as a genuine compliment, but Henry still grumbles at him for it and the implication that Scott thought he’d be jizzing his brains out in two minutes, tops.
If Henry’s being honest with himself, he’s a little impressed, too.  But he’s too hazy right now to be anything other than a little peeved and deliriously turned on.  Scott rolls his hand against his ass, his fingers pressing so close but not quite at the spot that makes his whole body feel like it’s full of dancing stars.  He chases Scott’s fingertips, twitching his hips to get them where he wants them, but Scott’s other hand merely gives his hip a gentle press back into the mattress.  The bedside lamp flickers as Henry lets out a grumbling whine that’s awful close to begging.
“That’s it,” Scott praises, and Henry sighs around a full-body shiver.  “You’re doing good, Hen.  So good...”
The lamp flutters again, Henry’s breath hitching in his chest as Scott crooks his fingers and presses right into his prostate.  He’s not teasing anymore, either.  He rubs his fingertips in little circles and doesn’t stop, doesn’t slow, and doesn’t give any warning when he pauses just long enough to pull back and ease a third finger inside of him.
The added stretch, though slight, is enough to have Henry gasping for air.  The lamp, once twinkling like a bulb loose in its socket, instead flashes harshly three times.
“Sco-ott,” he moans, warbled and completely embarrassing, but fuck it, he doesn’t care when Scott thrusts all three digits inside of him and paints a figure-eight across insides.  His eyes cross as he squeezes them shut, fooled into thinking that it’ll make the pleasure less overwhelming.
“That’s it, Hen...” Scott soothes, and it’s only when he bends over to press a tender kiss to his upper lip that Henry realizes he’s bleeding.  He tastes it, warm and metallic, when he opens his mouth for Scott’s tongue to join his.  He briefly thinks about the blood getting in Scott’s mustache, how it’ll be a pain to get out, but then all thoughts are abruptly wiped from his mind as Scott’s fingers press, sharp and unforgiving, right against his prostate.
“That- Scott-!”
Those stars are back, lighting up bright and overwhelming just beneath his skin.  They spark and dance around the room, flashing above his eyelids that are squeezed shut tight - though perhaps that’s the lamp going haywire next to his head.  Scott stops kissing him and nudges his cheek with his nose, asking for him to open his eyes, and who is he to deny the wishes of his lover?
Henry slowly, carefully, peeks one eye open.  As silly as it sounds, he’s worried that the moment he lays his eyes on Scott, he’ll come totally undone.  He wants to come so bad, but he also wants to revel in this moment, here and now, with Scott.  There’s been many before, and more are still to come, but he wants to commit each and every one to memory.
Scott does, in fact, have blood all over his mustache and upper lip.  A thin swipe even trails down onto his chin, and Henry thinks it actually looks quite sexy.  His dick drips thick gobs of precome onto his stomach.  The light flashes beside them, casting them both in soft, shuttering shadows.  Henry’s whole head feels full of cotton.  He’s gonna sleep well after this.
“You look beautiful,” Scott murmurs, and he smiles that goofy, lopsided smile of his, and it goes right to Henry’s heart and all the way down to his dick.
“Fuck,” he gasps, and then Scott’s mouth latches onto his throat and his fingers press relentlessly into his sweet spot.  The light bulb buzzes loudly as it blooms bright, and crackles as the filament snaps alongside the intense coiling heat in Henry’s belly.
His orgasm crests and crashes over him as Scott’s voice murmurs sweet nothings against the base of his jaw, praising him for doing so good, for lasting as long as he did, for humoring his hypothesis about how much it would take for Henry to burn out a light bulb from his pleasure alone.
Henry snorts, breaking into a cheek-splitting smile.  This is a scientist he’ll never tire from experimenting with.

Fine, I'll bite. I tried the first two episodes of girls5eva and I'm not feeling it. It has the pacing/writing of unbreakable schmidt, but the OTT delivery makes the jokes fall flat.
Does it get any better?
I mean, the tone is not for everyone and most gags/references are very millennial.
But the way I see it, the series does get better.
I only checked it out because I needed something lighthearted and--let me tell you--I initially found the satire pretty stupid. In fact, I was on the verge of dropping the show and starting "Claws" when the tunes and groove won me over.
Then season 2 made me fall in love with it.
After that, I started paying more attention to the jokes and found out that I had missed plenty of them. It did not help matters that my pop culture knowledge is limited.
Season 3 is much shorter and did not impress me as much as season 2. Although two of the ladies (Wickie and Summer) got character development and Sara Bareilles shone in it, the season felt transitional--what with the whole "Peacock canceled it, Netflix got it" ordeal.
Are there moments that I could do without? Sure. Did other moments spark joy? Yes.
At the end of the day, it's up to you.

Scripts - S6 - Episode 30 (Part 2 of 2)
Flo, Andy/Francis, Ozzy Pt.2, Marshall, Amelia's movies.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Since you’ve made yourself the official mediator, Flo.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: I reckon we should pick your clip.
OZZY_IDLE: Confessions Flo-w?
FLO_HAPPY: Ooooh yessss!
GRACE_HAPPY: Are you ever bothered, Flo?
FLO_HAPPY: I try not to be.
FLO_FLIRTY: Unless I’m in luuuuuurve.
Flo gives you a cheeky wave.
CONFESSIONS FLO-W
The onscreen action begins once again.
Flo and {0} are chilling on the daybeds.
{0}_FLIRTY: I’m drowning in your eyes.
FLO_IDLE: Maybe I could save you?
FLO_HAPPY: Heard it before my guy.
FLO_FLIRTY: Cute try though.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Fail.
FLO_HAPPY: Don’t worry about it.
FLO_FLIRTY: You’re fun though.
{0}_FLIRTY: Am I the one for you then?
FLO_FLIRTY: Honestly? Nah.
{0}_SAD: Burn. And I was about to ask if you wanted to couple up.
{0}_IDLE: Amelia definitely isn’t into it anymore.
{0}_IDLE: I’m thinking she’s gonna twist.
FLO_SERIOUS: So that’s the real reason you wanted to twist with me?
{0}_IDLE: Maybe. Could be a way to keep us both safe.
FLO_SERIOUS: It would give me a chance to meet my person.
{0}_SURPRISED: And who’s that?
FLO_FLIRTY: Now, that’d be telling wouldn’t it?
{0}_IDLE: So you’re open to coupling up as a friend couple to give you more time?
FLO_HAPPY: I’m all over it! It’ll work out perfectly.
FLO_HAPPY: I came to the villa to meet the one.
FLO_IDLE: I absolutely don’t wanna go home before I meet them.
FLO_SERIOUS: We’ve got a deal!
The clip fades out.
FLO_HAPPY: See? That wasn’t so bad.
AMELIA_HAPPY: Can’t even be mad at you for that.
{0}_HAPPY: Gotta love that honesty!
Ask Flo if she found somebody
PLAYER_HAPPY: So, if {0} isn’t it for you.
PLAYER_IDLE: Did you find that somebody yet?
GRACE_HAPPY: Good question!
FLO_HAPPY: Very good question.
FLO_FLIRTY: One which I think you know the answer to, {0}.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Do I?
FLO_FLIRTY: Dig deep. Think about a chat we just had.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Hmm it’s coming back to me.
FLO_HAPPY: I don’t think so.
FLO_FLIRTY: Not yet anyway…
Tell Flo she’s a legend
PLAYER_HAPPY: You’re kind of a legend, Flo.
FLO_HAPPY: Ya think so?
FLO_HAPPY: You’ve all welcomed me with open arms.
She looks over at {0}.
FLO_HAPPY: Even if I’ve come to make moves on you girl.
{0} laughs nervously.
{0}_HAPPY: We are a welcoming bunch.
Tell Flo she’s OTT
PLAYER_IDLE: Woah, Flo.
PLAYER_IDLE: That was kinda over the top.
PLAYER_IDLE: Are you always that honest?
FLO_HAPPY: Yup.
FLO_HAPPY: And it worked didn’t it?
FLO_FLIRTY: Because here I am!
*Dig out {0}
PLAYER_ANGRY: What the hell are you playing at, {0}!
{0}_SURPRISED: What?
PLAYER_ANGRY: What? How about being a complete scheming snake?
PLAYER_ANGRY: You were coupled up with Amelia, but cracked on as soon as she was out of sight.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: She was doing the exact same thing.
PLAYER_ANGRY: She felt a genuine connection with Marshall.
PLAYER_ANGRY: She wasn’t trying to scheme her way to staying in the villa.
PLAYER_ANGRY: She’s here for the right reasons, but I’m not sure you are.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: I felt a spark with Flo.
PLAYER_ANGRY: It doesn’t look like she felt one with you.
Flo bursts out laughing.
FLO_FLIRTY: You’re a boss, {0}.
PLAYER_ANGRY: I’m drowning in your eyes. Who says that?
PLAYER_ANGRY: We’re drowning in your lies.
FLO_FLIRTY: What a zinger! She told you, {0}?
{0}_SAD: She really did. I’ve learnt my lesson.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: How about learning some loyalty first?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: And honesty.
FLO_HAPPY: You just became my hero, {0}.
FLO_HAPPY: Can I take some lessons in awesomeness.
PLAYER_HAPPY: I’m here all week.
GRACE_HAPPY: Love how she pied {0}. But got what she wanted from him.
GRACE_IDLE: It’s what I needed to see after that last clip.
FLO_HAPPY: Glad to be of service.
FLO_HAPPY: I’ll be even more honest with you lot.
PLAYER_IDLE: Oh yeah?
FLO_HAPPY: And admit that I came in here for someone specific.
AMELIA_SURPRISED: Who?
FLO_FLIRTY: {0}.
FLO_HAPPY: It got a bit confusing when she got fake dumped.
FLO_FLIRTY: But I had faith.
FLO_FLIRTY: Now I just have to woo you, {0}.
She flips her blonde hair back over her shoulder and smirks at you.
GRACE_IDLE: Let’s play another movie?
{0}_IDLE: What about Elli-out of sight Elli-out of mind?
ELLIOT_IDLE: That’s a tongue twister.
ELLIOT_EMBARRASSED: Ok, let me prepare myself.
He gives himself a shake and adjusts his glasses.
ELLIOT_HAPPY: Play the movie!
ELLI-OUT OF SIGHT ELLI-OUT OF MIND
Elliot’s clip shows him whispering to the boys…
ELLIOT_IDLE: I am obviously gutted that {0}’s gone.
ELLIOT_IDLE: But me and her didn’t have that much time to get to know one another.
ELLIOT_HAPPY: Surely it would be silly to close myself off?
ELLIOT_FLIRTY: I definitely want to get to know the other girls.
The screen fades to black.
ELLIOT_EMBARRASSED: Erm…
OZZY_IDLE: We did think you’d been dumped, {0}.
{0}_IDLE: Yeah, you couldn’t genuinely think he wouldn’t want to get to know other girls?
Tell those boys to shush
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Oh shut up all of you.
PLAYER_IDLE: I’m allowed to feel how I want to feel.
PLAYER_IDLE: I don’t need anyone to argue Elliot’s case for me.
ELLIOT_IDLE: I am sorry if that was weird to watch though, {0}.
ELLIOT_HAPPY: I’m only into you.
ELLIOT_IDLE: I was just confused and sad that you’d gone so soon into our relationship.
Agree with the boys
PLAYER_HAPPY: Don’t worry boys. I agree.
PLAYER_IDLE: He did nothing wrong.
PLAYER_IDLE: He hadn’t known me that long.
PLAYER_IDLE: Plus, I supposedly went home.
ELLIOT_HAPPY: Thanks for being so cool about it.
ELLIOT_IDLE: I never want to upset you.
ELLIOT_FLIRTY: Now we know each other better, there’s no chance my head would turn.
Give Elliot the cold shoulder
Elliot tries to catch your eye, but you turn your back on him sassily.
ELLIOT_EMBARRASSED: {0}?
ELLIOT_SAD: Sorry if I offended you.
ELLIOT_EMBARRASSED: I really didn’t mean it.
ELLIOT_IDLE: It was only you I cared about.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I just need a minute.
ELLIOT_IDLE: The last thing on my mind right now is getting to know anybody else.
ELLIOT_IDLE: I like you.
{0}_HAPPY: What about Crimes of the Kitchen?
GRACE_HAPPY: Sounds fun.
PLAYER_HAPPY: I’m down.
CRIMES OF THE KITCHEN
The screen shows {0} and the Casa Amor boys in the kitchen cooking for your breakfast date.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: Alright, mate, I’ve never seen so much oil in a pan.
MARSHALL_FLIRTY: Even my toast is gonna beat your breakfast for {0}.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: Do ya want any bacon with that oil?
HAMISH_HAPPY: Oil is an aphrodisiac.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: The stuff that comes out of your mouth, I despair.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Let me tip some out for you.
Whilst Marshall’s back is turned, {0} turns the toaster dial up.
The clip cuts to the toaster puffing black clouds of smoke.
MARSHALL_SURPRISED: Oh what!
{0}_FLIRTY: I hope {1} likes her toast cremated.
MARSHALL_SAD: Aw man! It’s ruined.
Marshall tries to retrieve his toast. {0} turns away and does a quick celebration dance.
The screen fades to black.
GRACE_HAPPY: Oh that is golden!
MARSHALL_SAD: It was black, not golden!
{0}_HAPPY: {1}, you’re hilarious.
AMELIA_HAPPY: Best clip so far.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: Well, well, well.
MARSHALL_FLIRTY: It seems my best mate in here hath secretly been working as my arch-nemesis.
{0}_HAPPY: It was all too easy.
{0}_HAPPY: There are more pranks where that came from.
Start a round of applause for him
PLAYER_HAPPY: That deserves a round of applause.
You stand up and start clapping.
Your fellow Islanders follow your lead, whooping and cheering.
GRACE_HAPPY: What a legend.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: I’m in awe.
{0} bows with a cheeky wink in your direction.
{0}_FLIRTY: Hopefully you’re my biggest fan, {1}.
Tell him off
PLAYER_SURPRISED: {0}, that might be cheating!
{0}_IDLE: I can’t tell if you’re joking or not, {1}.
{0}_FLIRTY: I like it.
GRACE_HAPPY: She must be.
AMELIA_HAPPY: Are you?
PLAYER_IDLE: I don’t know, am I?
{0}_HAPPY: I love the suspense.
Eat your popcorn and ignore him
You ignore the reactions of the other Islanders and start munching on your popcorn.
{0}_IDLE: {1}?
GRACE_HAPPY: How can you not find that funny?
AMELIA_HAPPY: We used to pull pranks all the time when we were growing up.
PLAYER_IDLE: Never said I didn’t find it funny.
{0}_HAPPY: I love the suspense.
{0}_IDLE: Ok, what clip we picking this time?
MARSHALL_SURPRISED: Wait, what’s that one?
OZZY_SURPRISED: You have got to be kidding me.
GRACE_SURPRISED: No way!
{0}_SURPRISED: Ozzy Making Moves Part 2!
OZZY_SAD: Just get it over with.
GRACE_SAD: I’m so over this.
OZZY MAKING MOVES PART 2
The clip goes back to you and Ozzy on the terrace once more.
OZZY_SAD: I’d just always regret tonight if…
OZZY_SAD: If you were dumped and maybe there was something more…
But this time… It shows your response.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: You might be right there Ozzy…
PLAYER_HAPPY: We’re in the Love Island villa, after all!
PLAYER_FLIRTY: We should be open to exploring each other…
OZZY_FLIRTY: That’s what I mean.
OZZY_FLIRTY: Exploring sounds like fun…
PLAYER_FLIRTY: And I don’t see a ring on your finger, just yet.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Maybe if we were both single, Ozzy…
OZZY_IDLE: I feel you.
OZZY_FLIRTY: Right place, right time.
PLAYER_IDLE: Exactly.
OZZY_IDLE: It’s still early days in here, who knows what could happen…
PLAYER_FLIRTY: The best is yet to come.
OZZY_HAPPY: I hope you’re right.
PLAYER_IDLE: I’m still processing.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: This was a bit of a surprise!
OZZY_IDLE: I respect that.
OZZY_FLIRTY: I’m glad I said something, though.
OZZY_IDLE: I’d feel like a right plank if I kept quiet.
The screen cuts to black.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: So I guess that was my clip.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: But somehow also another way for me to look bad.
GRACE_ANGRY: Ugh. I feel sick.
{0} shifts awkwardly in his chair. He avoids your eye.
{0} glances at you, a flash of annoyance on his face.
GRACE_ANGRY: It’s all so disrespectful.
Remind Grace about Hamish!
PLAYER_ANGRY: Grace, stop!
PLAYER_ANGRY: You seem to forget how often your lips were glued to Hamish’s in Casa.
PLAYER_IDLE: It’s hypocritical.
GRACE_ANGRY: Whatever, {0}.
AMELIA_IDLE: You two just need to take a breather.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: This is too much.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Yeah I’m sick of seeing your face on the big screen, Oz.
OZZY_ANGRY: Leave it.
Apologise
PLAYER_IDLE: I’m sorry.
PLAYER_IDLE: That’s just how it went down.
PLAYER_IDLE: Can’t change it now.
AMELIA_IDLE: Let’s just be chill about it.
GRACE_SAD: I’m trying.
Spill your popcorn everywhere
You stand up and knock your popcorn bucket everywhere.
GRACE_SURPRISED: Was that on purpose?
AMELIA_IDLE: Grace, let’s not.
PLAYER_IDLE: Whoops.
FLO_HAPPY: I’ll still eat that. Five second rule.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: Oh the drama.
OZZY_ANGRY: Leave it Marshall.
GRACE_EMBARRASSED: I knew that you two were flirty.
GRACE_SAD: It just sucks to see it up there in HD.
GRACE_SAD: Especially because I don’t think you two are done flirting yet.
Ozzy catches your eye for a brief second.
OZZY_EMBARRASSED: Trust me Grace, I’m not loving it either.
GRACE_IDLE: It wasn’t that bad.
GRACE_IDLE: No proper flirting and nothing I didn’t already know.
OZZY_IDLE: Yeah? Good.
There wasn’t enough drama
PLAYER_FLIRTY: That was boring! I want more drama.
PLAYER_IDLE: My clip was so tame.
AMELIA_SURPRISED: Don’t tempt fate.
GRACE_EMBARRASSED: I’m done with drama.
OZZY_IDLE: Yeah, please no more.
I’m relieved
PLAYER_IDLE: I’m relieved. I didn’t want to add to the drama.
AMELIA_IDLE: We’ve had enough for one evening.
GRACE_SAD: Exactly.
OZZY_IDLE: Let’s just sack the rest of the clips off.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: No way.
OZZY_IDLE: Oh yeah, we’ve still got yours to go, lil bro.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Nothing little about me.
Knock your popcorn everywhere
You stand up and knock your popcorn bucket everywhere.
GRACE_SURPRISED: Was that on purpose?
AMELIA_HAPPY: Wouldn’t put it past her.
PLAYER_IDLE: Whoops.
FLO_HAPPY: I’ll still eat that. Five second rule.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: Oh the drama.
OZZY_IDLE: Your clip is coming up, lil’ bro.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Nothing little about me.
PLAYER_IDLE: We must be nearly done.
OZZY_IDLE: Just two to go.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: Mine won’t even be bad.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Calling it.
PLAYER_HAPPY: The Twin Brothers Grim, reckon that’s gotta be yours, Marsh.
MARSHALL_HAPPY: Ya think?
MARSHALL_IDLE: Lights, camera, action!
THE TWIN BROTHERS GRIM
The screen shows a montage of Marshall talking.
MARSHALL_SERIOUS: I’ll tell you about the real Ozzy.
MARSHALL_SERIOUS: And you might not like what you hear…
MARSHALL_SERIOUS: Don’t be fooled by his nice boy persona.
MARSHALL_EMBARRASSED: Ozzy’s always been good at putting on a show.
MARSHALL_EMBARRASSED: Ozzy, on the other hand, he’s slow, stubborn and way too proud.
MARSHALL_SAD: Last time I checked he was still a backup dancer.
The screen fades to black.
The Islanders are stunned. Amelia looks at you, her eyes full of shock.
OZZY_SAD: Wow.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Wow what?
OZZY_ANGRY: Did you just come to the villa to dump on me?
MARSHALL_IDLE: Nope, came to find the girl of my dreams.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: You’re gonna lose her.
MARSHALL_ANGRY: This is all irrelevant.
You’re obsessed with Ozzy!
PLAYER_SURPRISED: You’re obsessed with Ozzy!
PLAYER_IDLE: Every chance you got in Casa, you would bring him up.
MARSHALL_SURPRISED: That’s an exaggeration, {0} and you know it.
MARSHALL_SERIOUS: It’s healthy to vent.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Maybe you’re the one obsessed with him.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Don’t try to deflect this onto me.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Take ownership of how you’ve acted.
AMELIA_ANGRY: Yeah, and don’t talk to my sister like that.
MARSHALL_EMBARRASSED: This is stupid.
Just make up
PLAYER_IDLE: You need to stop behaving like a kid and say you’re sorry.
MARSHALL_ANGRY: As if Ozzy is blameless in this situation?
AMELIA_ANGRY: He wasn’t the one talking bad about his brother.
AMELIA_IDLE: That’s just icky.
MARSHALL_IDLE: I give up.
Siblings do argue
PLAYER_IDLE: Siblings do fight. Maybe we should give Marshall a break?
MARSHALL_IDLE: Exactly! Somebody speaking sense.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I don’t know, {0}, it isn’t like a one-off argument.
AMELIA_IDLE: Bad mouthing your brother when he’s not there to defend himself?
MARSHALL_EMBARRASSED: I was just venting.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I’m not liking this side of you, Marshall.
She looks over at you.
AMELIA_IDLE: I’d never talk about you like that, {0}.
AMELIA_IDLE: And I’m sure you wouldn’t talk that way about me.
FLO_IDLE: It’s your girl, the mediator, back again.
FLO_HAPPY: One more clip!
FLO_HAPPY: I’m so full of popcorn I need to sleep soon.
{0}_IDLE: So we’re ending on Am(elia) Gonna Be Famous.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I’m nervous.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Roll the final clip!
AM(ELIA) GONNA BE FAMOUS
The final clip shows Ivy and Amelia in a private chat.
AMELIA_SAD: I do sometimes regret not taking the opportunity Zeph gave me.
AMELIA_IDLE: My life could have been so different.
AMELIA_SAD: Maybe even better.
AMELIA_IDLE: I don’t know why I’m thinking about it now.
The clip finishes and you feel the others looking at you.
Amelia holds out her hand to you.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: {0}? You ok?
Kick off
PLAYER_ANGRY: I thought I was done hearing about this whole Zeph thing.
PLAYER_ANGRY: But more keeps coming out.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: It’s getting ridiculous.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: What else haven’t you told me?
AMELIA_SAD: I can explain everything, ok?
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: Let’s finish up here and then we can go somewhere and talk.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Now we’re not the only twins arguing, eh Oz?
OZZY_ANGRY: Stop.
Ask what she meant
PLAYER_ANGRY: What opportunity did you mean?
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: Can we talk about it in private after we’re done here?
AMELIA_IDLE: Then I can explain properly, if you want.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Now we’re potentially not the only twins arguing tonight, eh Oz?
OZZY_ANGRY: Stop.
Take her hand
You take Amelia’s hand and squeeze it.
PLAYER_IDLE: We’ll be fine.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I promise we can talk about it if you want to know the whole story.
PLAYER_IDLE: Ok, Amelia.
MARSHALL_IDLE: Looks like we’re the only twins arguing tonight, eh Oz?
OZZY_ANGRY: Shush.
The screen finally fades to black and the Islanders start to disperse, tension hanging heavy in the air.
Amelia gestures for you to follow her.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: Can we talk now?
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I owe you a massive explanation.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I know you’re angry and I get that. Let me tell you everything!
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I’m waiting.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I’ve tried to tell you this a few times in here.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: But something keeps getting in the way.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: What is it?
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: Ok, well you remember when Zeph suddenly upped and left?
PLAYER_ANGRY: How could I forget?
AMELIA_SAD: Sorry, silly question. Well, he didn’t leave as abruptly as you thought.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: He spoke to me about it first.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Really? Why didn’t you tell me?
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: Because of what he said to me. But I have to tell you now.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: What was it?
AMELIA_SERIOUS: He asked me to go on tour with him.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: No way!
AMELIA_IDLE: He wanted me to travel the world with him.
AMELIA_IDLE: He knew I always wanted to travel, so thought this’d be the perfect chance.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Instead of uni?
AMELIA_SERIOUS: I’d have done a gap year. He knew I wanted to work in events.
AMELIA_SAD: He thought this might be a good career launcher for me.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Why didn’t you go then?
AMELIA_SAD: I couldn’t do that to you. I knew you’d caught feels for him.
AMELIA_SAD: It’d have felt like I was betraying you.
AMELIA_IDLE: Plus, I didn’t want to be apart from you for that long.
You should have gone
PLAYER_SAD: Aww Amelia! You should’ve gone on that tour.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: That was such a cool opportunity.
AMELIA_HAPPY: It didn’t feel right.
Thanks for thinking of me
PLAYER_HAPPY: I really appreciate you thinking of me.
PLAYER_HAPPY: That can’t have been an easy thing to turn down.
AMELIA_IDLE: Not gonna lie, I was pretty tempted.
AMELIA_IDLE: But it didn’t feel right to me.
I feel bad now
PLAYER_SAD: Now I feel guilty about it. You’d have gone if it wasn’t for me.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: One, you didn’t know about it. And two, you’re my sister.
AMELIA_HAPPY: You’ll always come first.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: I wasn’t going to leave you to mope around by yourself.
AMELIA_HAPPY: I thought it’d be more fun if we moped around together.
AMELIA_HAPPY: Only joking, we had a vibey summer at home.
I’m still hurt you kept it from me
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I still can’t believe you didn’t tell me earlier.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Way earlier! Seriously, Amelia?
AMELIA_SAD: I know, I should’ve told you at the time.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I thought telling you would make things sting more.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: You should’ve just explained at the time!
AMELIA_SAD: I know that now. And if I could go back I’d tell you everything.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: But I just wanted to focus on getting you smiling again.
AMELIA_IDLE: I thought moving on was best for us both.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: I obviously wasn’t going to go and leave you.
AMELIA_HAPPY: You’ll always come first.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: Did you regret staying?
AMELIA_IDLE: I did for a bit, but it passed soon.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: And I didn’t need him to launch my career anyway. Thanks but no thanks.
AMELIA_HAPPY: Plus, his music was always overrated anyway.
You both laugh and Amelia gently nudges into you.
AMELIA_IDLE: I promise, this is the last revelation about Zeph. You know everything now.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Ok!
AMELIA_FLIRTY: Back to the here and now. That was an eventful Movie Night!
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: It really was!
AMELIA_FLIRTY: Massive drama! I loved every second of it.
AMELIA_FLIRTY: Could you see me stifling giggles behind my popcorn?
PLAYER_HAPPY: I might’ve caught a glance yeah.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: We need to talk about my man Marshall!
AMELIA_ANGRY: Although I’m not sure he’s still <i>my</i> man!
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Why’s that?
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: The way he slated Ozzy behind his back! And didn’t own it.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: I know they don’t always see eye-to-eye, but he went too far.
AMELIA_SAD: I know you think it’s just sibling bickering.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: But he should’ve been bigging Ozzy up to us.
AMELIA_SAD: Not slating him, even if they’ve got some beef.
AMELIA_SAD: It kind of gave me the ick.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I did try to warn you.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: And maybe I should’ve listened.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: So, how are you going to play it with him?
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I’ve got no idea, {0}. I’m clueless like usual.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: I know you were attracted to Marshall at the start of Casa.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Why are you bringing this up?
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: Maybe we were too hasty agreeing to twist together, I don’t know.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: I’ve got a lot to think about right now.
AMELIA_IDLE: I wanted to see where your head’s at with Marshall?
Marshall ticks a lot of boxes
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I’m still attracted to Marshall for sure.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: He’s ticking a lot of my boxes still.
AMELIA_IDLE: Ok, good to know. Thanks for being honest.
Marshall who?
PLAYER_ANGRY: The Marshall ship has sailed for me.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Me and Marshall aren’t close to being a thing.
AMELIA_IDLE: I get that. Good to know where your head’s at.
Who knows?
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I don’t really know where my head’s at.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: That makes two of us.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: I guess we both need to work things out.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: So, did any of the clips put you off anyone?
{0}
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I was a bit put off {0} to be honest.
AMELIA_SURPRISED: Why? His clip was super cute!
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: Just a bit cringe I guess.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: My head’s not with him right now.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: Yeah, that’s true. Guess he can’t help being into you though.
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I guess he’s only human.
Amelia laughs.
{0}
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I was a bit put off {0} if I’m honest.
AMELIA_SURPRISED: Really? I thought his clip was hilarious!
AMELIA_HAPPY: Burning Marshall’s toast to try to win your heart.
AMELIA_HAPPY: What’s not to love?
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Agree to disagree I guess.
PLAYER_ANGRY: Elliot saying he wanted to get to know the other girls?
PLAYER_ANGRY: I’d literally just been dumped. Or he thought I had.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: Yeah I get that. I’d be annoyed too hearing that.
AMELIA_IDLE: I don’t think he meant anything by it though. And he had just got here.
AMELIA_HAPPY: Like he said, he’s fully closed off to other girls now.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Hmmm.
AMELIA_HAPPY: I’m sensing your head’s with someone else anyway.
Ozzy
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: Ozzy’s put me off him a bit.
AMELIA_SURPRISED: Even though you already knew about it?
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I guess seeing it back made it all the more cringe.
Marshall
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I’m with you, Marshall’s clip didn’t sit well with me.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: He shouldn’t have been talking about Ozzy like that.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: One million percent!
{0}
PLAYER_ANGRY: Seeing {0} egging on the boys to cheat. Ergh.
PLAYER_ANGRY: Major ick!
AMELIA_ANGRY: I know, right! Ozzy’s actions are on Ozzy.
AMELIA_EMBARRASSED: But {0} didn’t help at all!
PLAYER_SERIOUS: No, really snakey behaviour!
{0}
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I was a bit put off {0}.
AMELIA_SURPRISED: Really? But her clip was super cute.
AMELIA_HAPPY: You could see how much you meant to her.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: Maybe it felt a bit intense, I don’t know.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: I guess my eggs are more in someone else’s basket right now.
AMELIA_FLIRTY: I guess so.
Flo
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: I was a bit put off Flo really.
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: Hearing her scheming with {0} didn’t sit right.
PLAYER_SERIOUS: Especially as it could’ve left you single if you’d stuck with him.
AMELIA_SERIOUS: True, although I was never sticking.
AMELIA_FLIRTY: And she had to make some moves. I thought it was funny.
AMELIA_HAPPY: She’s got a load of confidence.
No, all good
PLAYER_HAPPY: All good on my end. You expect a bit of drama with Movie Night.
AMELIA_FLIRTY: And we sure got it!
AMELIA_FLIRTY: Oh, so I’ve got my read on this, but I’ll ask to be sure.
AMELIA_FLIRTY: Now you’ve seen the clips from Flo and {0}...
PLAYER_IDLE: Go on…
AMELIA_FLIRTY: Which girl are you feeling most into now?
{0}
PLAYER_HAPPY: It’s got to be {0}.
AMELIA_HAPPY: Thought so. Makes sense, you’ve known her longer.
Flo
PLAYER_HAPPY: It’s got to be Flo.
AMELIA_HAPPY: I thought so!
AMELIA_FLIRTY: Speak of the devil, looks like she wants a chat with you.
You see {0} waving you over to join her on the swing seat.
AMELIA_FLIRTY: Looks like someone’s waiting for you by the swing seat.
You see {0} waving you over to join them on the swing seat.
You head over to the swing seat.
{0}_IDLE: Hey, {1}.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: That was a lot, wasn’t it?
It was all drama
PLAYER_SURPRISED: It definitely was all drama.
{0}_HAPPY: Apart from a few sweet moments.
PLAYER_IDLE: Oh, yeah.
PLAYER_IDLE: They got a bit overshadowed by the drama.
{0}_IDLE: I think you might be right about that.
{0}_FLIRTY: More sweet moments to come though I reckon.
Not enough drama
PLAYER_IDLE: In my opinion there wasn’t enough drama!
{0}_SURPRISED: Really?
{0}_IDLE: Your taste in movies might be different than mine then.
{0}_FLIRTY: But I think that’s a good thing.
{0}_HAPPY: We can introduce each other to new stuff.
PLAYER_IDLE: Interesting way to look at it.
{0}_IDLE: I felt bad for the newbies having to watch all the drama unfold.
{0}_IDLE: Being pretty new to the villa, it was quite intense watching all of it unfold.
{0}_SURPRISED: Marshall had a lot to say.
{0}_IDLE: I love the guy, but he was stirring the pot a little.
PLAYER_IDLE: You think?
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Especially with the whole Ozzy and Grace thing.
PLAYER_IDLE: You wanna talk about the Ozzy flirting don’t you?
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Well, yeah. I think we have to.
{0}_IDLE: I don’t want to dwell on it.
{0}_SAD: But the flirting made me wonder if you’re still into him.
It’s complicated
PLAYER_IDLE: It’s all complicated I guess.
PLAYER_IDLE: There’s a lot to figure out.
PLAYER_IDLE: Not just with Ozzy.
PLAYER_IDLE: But there might be some feelings there.
{0}_IDLE: Hmmm, that’s good to know.
{0}_IDLE: I just wanted to make sure I spoke to you about it.
It’s none of your business
PLAYER_SERIOUS: It’s not really any of your business.
{0}_SURPRISED: I hear ya, {1}, but it kind of is.
{0}_IDLE: I know I don’t own you, but we are coupled up.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: I thought that meant something.
{0}_IDLE: I know we aren’t coupled up.
{0}_IDLE: But I thought we were getting close.
PLAYER_IDLE: I just don’t really want to go into it.
{0}_IDLE: I’ll try and respect that.
I’m not, really
PLAYER_IDLE: I mean, not really.
PLAYER_IDLE: That clip was from pretty early days.
{0}_IDLE: I get that.
{0}_IDLE: Doesn’t necessarily mean the feelings have disappeared though.
PLAYER_IDLE: I’ve answered the question.
{0}_IDLE: I just had to ask about it.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: It would’ve pressed on my mind otherwise.
{0}_IDLE: Well, I’m pretty confident that I can take your mind away from Ozzy.
PLAYER_IDLE: Oh, are you?
PLAYER_EMBARRASSED: Yeah, it did get heated.
{0}_HAPPY: You didn’t really flirt with him in your clip though.
{0}_FLIRTY: I was pretty happy about that.
{0}_IDLE: Not that I would’ve judged if you had.
PLAYER_IDLE: I would hope not.
So you weren’t jealous?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: You weren’t jealous at all?
{0}_FLIRTY: Interesting question.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Is it?
{0}_IDLE: I don’t always know how you feel.
{0}_FLIRTY: But I know how I feel.
{0}_FLIRTY: Don’t want to waste my time being jealous.
{0}_HAPPY: I’d rather focus on spending time with you…
So we’re good?
PLAYER_IDLE: So, we’re all good?
{0}_HAPPY: Absolutely.
{0}_FLIRTY: Movie Night couldn’t change the way I feel about you.
{0}_HAPPY: I just wanted to make sure I got to steal a little time with you.
So what now?
PLAYER_IDLE: So what now?
{0}_IDLE: I just wanted to chat to you, to be honest.
{0}_IDLE: To make sure you were ok.
{0}_HAPPY: Plus, it was an excuse to steal you for a bit after all the chaos.
{0}_FLIRTY: I think I should ask you how you really felt about my clip…
I liked seeing your close-up
PLAYER_FLIRTY: I enjoyed all your close-up shots.
{0}_HAPPY: Really?
PLAYER_FLIRTY: Mmmmm hmmm.
{0}_FLIRTY: What a coincidence.
{0}_FLIRTY: I enjoyed yours too.
{0}_HAPPY: You’ve got a face made for the big screen.
PLAYER_HAPPY: Do you think so?
{0}_HAPPY: Without a doubt.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t too put off by what I said about getting to know people.
{0}_IDLE: My mind is solely on you.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t too put off by anything I said.
{0}_IDLE: My mind is solely on you.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t put off by my little toast prank.
I was shocked
PLAYER_SURPRISED: I found it quite shocking.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: That doesn’t sound good.
{0}_IDLE: You’ve got me sweating now.
PLAYER_IDLE: I just didn’t realise you’d thought about getting to know other girls.
{0}_IDLE: It was just because I thought you’d gone.
{0}_IDLE: And we hadn’t spent that much time together.
{0}_IDLE: My mind is solely on you.
PLAYER_IDLE: I didn’t know you’d been so loyal.
{0}_HAPPY: Straying wasn’t on my mind at all.
{0}_IDLE: My mind is solely on you.
PLAYER_IDLE: I didn’t realise you were into pranking people.
{0}_HAPPY: I’ve got a cheeky side.
I’m over it
PLAYER_IDLE: I’m over it.
PLAYER_IDLE: Done with Movie Night already.
{0}_IDLE: I think that’s a good thing.
{0}_HAPPY: Nothing we can do to change it.
PLAYER_IDLE: Exactly.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t too put off by what I said about getting to know people.
{0}_IDLE: Because my mind is solely on you.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t too put off by anything I said.
{0}_IDLE: Because my mind is solely on you.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t put off by my little toast prank.
{0} smiles at you gently.
{0}_HAPPY: It’s been a long night.
PLAYER_HAPPY: I guess I should get some rest.
As you stroll back across the lawn you see Grace engaged in a deep chat with Ozzy and Marshall.
{0}_FLIRTY: I thought there was plenty of drama!
{0}_HAPPY: I was gripped.
PLAYER_IDLE: I could tell.
{0}_IDLE: I felt bad for the newbies having to watch all the drama unfold.
{0}_IDLE: Being the new gal in the villa, it was quite intense watching all of that unfold.
{0}_SURPRISED: Marshall had a lot to say.
{0}_IDLE: He’s a good guy, but he was stirring the pot a little.
PLAYER_IDLE: You think?
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Especially with the whole Ozzy and Grace thing.
PLAYER_IDLE: You wanna talk about the Ozzy flirting don’t you?
{0}_EMBARRASSED: Well, yeah. I’m definitely intrigued about that one.
{0}_IDLE: I don’t want to assume anything.
{0}_SURPRISED: I hear ya, {1}.
{0}_IDLE: I know I don’t own you, but we are trying to be together.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: I thought that meant something.
{0}_IDLE: I know we’re still getting to know one another.
{0}_IDLE: But I want to be on the same page, ya know?
PLAYER_IDLE: I just don’t really want to go into it.
{0}_IDLE: I’ll try and respect that.
I’m not, really
PLAYER_IDLE: I mean, not really.
PLAYER_IDLE: That clip was from pretty early days.
{0}_IDLE: I get that.
{0}_IDLE: Doesn’t necessarily mean the feelings have disappeared though.

{0}_HAPPY: You didn’t really flirt with Ozzy in your clip though.
{0}_FLIRTY: I was pretty happy about that.
{0}_FLIRTY: Not that I would’ve judged if you had, I like a good flirt too.
{0}_FLIRTY: Movie night wouldn’t change the fact that I like you.
{0}_HAPPY: I just wanted to make sure I got to steal a little time with you.
So what now?
PLAYER_IDLE: So what now?
{0}_IDLE: I just wanted to chat to you, to be honest.
{0}_IDLE: To make sure you were good.

PLAYER_HAPPY: Do you think so?
{0}_HAPPY: Without a doubt.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t too put off by anything I said.
{0}_IDLE: You saw that my mind is solely on you.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t too put off by anything I said.
{0}_FLIRTY: I just wanted to get here to meet you.
I was shocked
PLAYER_SURPRISED: I found it quite shocking.
{0}_EMBARRASSED: That doesn’t sound good.
{0}_IDLE: You’ve got me sweating now.
PLAYER_IDLE: I just didn’t realise you’d thought about leaving for me.
{0}_IDLE: I really didn’t think there was anything left for me in the villa.
{0}_IDLE: I was gonna be so bored without you.
{0}_IDLE: You’re the girl I wanted to hang with.
PLAYER_IDLE: I just didn’t realise you and {0} had a plan like that.
{0}_HAPPY: I wanted to get to meet you, plus I knew he’d want to stay.
{0}_FLIRTY: So it all worked out pretty well.
I’m over it
PLAYER_IDLE: I’m over it.
PLAYER_IDLE: I’m done with Movie Night already.
{0}_IDLE: I think that’s a good thing.
{0}_HAPPY: Nothing we can do to change it.
PLAYER_IDLE: Exactly.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t too put off by anything I did.
{0}_IDLE: Because my mind is solely on you.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m just glad you weren’t too put off by anything I said.
{0}_IDLE: Because I just wanted to come in here and click with you.
{0} smiles at you gently. The moonlight glints deep in her eyes.
{0}_HAPPY: It’s been a long night.
{0}_HAPPY: We should get some rest.
As you stroll back across the lawn together you see Grace engaged in a deep chat with Ozzy and Marshall.
You walk into the bedroom to find the girls sitting on the ends of their beds.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: Where are the boys?
AMELIA_IDLE: I think {0} and {1} are making late-night nachos.
{0}_HAPPY: I’m hungry now.
FLO_EMBARRASSED: I’m so full of popcorn please don’t talk about food ever again.
PLAYER_IDLE: Grace is talking to Ozzy and Marshall in the garden…
AMELIA_SURPRISED: Well that’s a plot twist.
{0}_HAPPY: Maybe she’s actually trying to get them to make up.
AMELIA_IDLE: That would be a miracle.
{0}_IDLE: Whatever they’re talking about, I’m keeping out of it tonight.
{0}_IDLE: I actually can’t keep my eyes open.
Your phone pings from the bedside table.
PLAYER_SURPRISED: I’ve got a text!
LITEXT: Islanders, get some rest because you’ll be meeting a new arrival in the morning! {0}MorningCuppaT {1}BombshellForBreakfast
Amelia flops onto her bed dramatically.
AMELIA_FLIRTY: The fun never stops does it?
NARRATOR: Another bombshell! Don’t we spoil them.
NARRATOR: Can I just say, nobody told me about the concept of late-night nachos.
NARRATOR: They feed me the villa leftovers, you see.
NARRATOR: I’ve been thriving on a diet of protein smoothie dregs and pizza crusts.
NARRATOR: Yum! Join us next time on Love Island to meet the tasty new Islander.
