Tf One AU idea

What if like Decepticon Bee and Autobot Starscream but it occured at the exact same time?

Imagine Optimus already grieving the loss of his best friend — and then, on top of that, his new friend decides to leave with him too. I get it though; B wouldn’t want anyone to be alone, so he’s not siding with Megatron because he agrees with him, but because that’s his friend. And Optimus just has to sit there and accept it — like, yeah, it hurts, but... oh well. It’s their choice, and he has to respect it.

Then he and Elita turn around — and Starscream’s still there.

After Elita tells him to leave, he just flat-out refuses — for a bunch of complicated reasons he won’t say out loud. But really, it mostly comes down to the fact that he just doesn’t want to. Probably out of pure pettiness, since he’s still bitter about being demoted. He figures there’s no point in going back anyway, and now he wants to start grabbing power here instead.

(Also because he’s secretly homesick and dealing with a lot of internalized issues he won’t admit. And a lot of them are related to the Primes and the nagging sense of guilt which he totally won't admit even under threat, tbh my headcanon is a lot of the High Guard do hold a sense of Guilt of failing at their jobs I think Starscream Shockwave and Soundwave would have it to a greater degree since they were high ranking members)

And technically, the High Guard was supposed to serve the Primes — and from his point of view, Optimus was clearly the stronger one. So why should he leave?

Meanwhile, he’s just conveniently ignoring the whole "participated in terrorism" part.

Now Elita and Optimus aren’t just trying to build a faction from scratch while preparing for a possible war against the Decepticons or Quintessons — they’re also grieving the loss of two friends and stuck dealing with someone who basically has no moral compass left. There goes their mental stability.

Meanwhile, to make things even more painfully ironic, a lot of the Decepticons and old High Guard actually end up liking B. He’s like their weird, annoying little brother — it’s a toxic mess, but some of them genuinely care about him.

Bottom line: they’re having way more luck than Optimus and Elita right now.

Meanwhile, Megatron’s still spiraling, but he’s actually trying to be nice to B — he really does appreciate that at least one of his friends stuck with him. But sometimes, no matter how hard he tries, he just can’t keep it together.

Not that B’s having a great time either. Honestly, the only ones who are actually nice to him are Soundwave, maybe Thundercracker, and a few other bots here and there. (Totally not me pushing my Thunderbee agenda.)

Meanwhile, Shockwave and Elita are both just out here having the absolute worst day of their lives

The thing is, no one’s personalities are actually different in this AU. B still doesn’t really approve of Megatron’s actions — just like in the movie — so he’s not exactly a hardcore Decepticon supporter or anything. He just feels lonely overall, he wants to befriend everyone but they are all either hardened veterans who don't want to talk too much to him or straight up ignore his presence unless it's to do something they want,he wants to talk to D/Megatron but the latter is just acting so distant and he can't even talk to Elita and Optimus either.

He also doesn't like violence too much and is horrified seeing what the decepticons are becoming but feels overall so lonely.

Starscream is still Starscream. He’s still trying to pull the same stunts he used to with Megatron, except now he’s doing it with Optimus — and the difference is, Optimus and Elita absolutely do not put up with his crap. So he has no choice but to back off... though of course, he still makes himself a pain for everyone around him.

And he can’t exactly go crawling back to Megatron either, because at this point Megatron would just see him as a traitor. So Starscream’s basically stuck trying to make the best of the mess he threw himself into, since he really can't go back even if he wanted to since Shockwave and Soundwave are not picking up his calls( because he deliberately ignored their calls) and he's overall not having a good time because he legitimately would not leave even when he was banished Elita forced his ass to do community service including help rebuild some of the buildings he destroyed which he still holds resentment over. Because over 70+ bots destroyed those building why is he the only one who has to rebuild them lol? It took quite a while but he did do it out of spite. (Not entirely by himself because Optimus was feeling sympathetic)

Pushing my Elita/Starscream as rivals agenda they both end up in arguments over battle strategies and straight up every possible thing ever and she is so fed up. I ironically think he would try pulling off most of the stunts on her rather than Optimus because Optimus is Prime no point in trying to challenge that, but he can try to one-up Elita or atleast get on her nerves and she is 2 seconds away from personally kicking him out of Iacon.

Meanwhile, Optimus and Elita just want B to come back home.

There's a lot of pettiness in this AU Megatron thoroughly knows yeah maybe this isn't working out but he just doesn't want to show any weakness Infront of Optimus, so over battle calls he just tries to pretend B is much happier here than with you, Optimus is fine with their choice even if it pains him but like are you really sure about that because B is looking unhappy? Meanwhile Starscream passive aggressive interactions with Shockwave and Soundwave to see how well they are faring without him.

Soundwave is doing perfectly fine actually he's not even mad, he just thinks it's unconventional and kind of funny,Shockwave is mad because he now has to deal with B's ramblings by himself. He and Starscream have petty interactions

The end result is no one is happy, but everyone has a horrible time adjusting. Resulting in a weirdly different timeline of events. B might eventually defect once he realizes this is definitely not working and if Megatron does something to make him make that choice,I don't know about Starscream yet if in an AU like this would he even have much of a reason to go to the Decepticons besides maybe kinship?

I have the entire outline of this plotted out to a possible 25 chapter fic, but I can only publish it after exams, fun fact I had this idea in January in the literal middle of my mock exams I had free time after finishing the paper and came up with it lol.

I don't know if anyone already made an AU like this but just wanted to share my thoughts. I just thought it would be funny. I've seen the idea float around in the fandom and a tag in ao3 but I think the one who originally created the decepticon bee AU is yuukirita so I'd say it's partially inspired by it the other part is just me thinking there are 4 of the quartret and with Megatron and the tripe S trio that would also be a quartet wouldn't it be funny if Bee went with Megatron and Starscream stayed back? That's the idea really.

Autobots:

Jazz- While he initially thinks it’s funny and confusing, he is concerned about the direction of which the cult will go. But seeing as Starscream isn’t using the cult for anything strictly deception (as his cult is full of bots from both factions and neutrals) him and the rest of Autobot command can’t take direct action just yet. He also has failed to infiltrate the cult as Starscream keeps on catching him, somehow. Mirage too. He honestly more worried about Prowl tho. He tries to keep his audials and eyes open for suspicious movements though that would set the Autobots to move against the cult.

Prowl- He knows something ‘fishy’ is going on and he is going to find out what damnit. He’s sent both spy’s and assassins to get information or kill Starscream, but all have failed (either thwarted, captured, converted, or sent back beaten half to death). He is losing his damn processor over this. He doesn’t know why all this “Mother of Stars” cult started but he going to get it the bottom of it. And no Jazz he doesn’t need recharge, he needs answers! Prowl is the closest to figuring out Starscream is immortal but keeps on drawing onto the wrong conclusions or keeps second guessing himself into the wrong direction. Him and shockwave share one brain cell in this matter.

Decepticons

Soundwave- Besides the fact that he lowkey thinks this is a plot against Megatron once again, he hasn’t any real thoughts or concerns since Megatron is just letting Starscream do whatever (let’s be honest tho, Starscream will always do whatever he wants). Although, he does have concerns over the fact he can’t read Starscreams mind most of the time. Or more like it’s a cacophony of voices that makes it indiscernible to who’s thoughts are who’s (this being a primus and Unicron) and just makes his processor ache. He still keeps a close eye on Starscreams movements (more difficult now cause of the cult activity). He now has a paranoia that Rumble or Frenzy will join the cult just to rebel against Soundwave, as they have joked about it in passing. He wisely says nothing about the cult to anyone and stays far away from its bullshit.

Shockwave- He thinks all of this is illogical and the mention of the cult sends him into a rant of pure rage and exasperation. He doesn’t understand why Megatron lets him continue, and he doesn’t understand why Sunstorm is allowing someone like Starscream to be on this pedestal of divinity as a prophet of Primus. He and Prowl have lowkey been secretly messaging each other and have poster board and red thread type shit going on in the background, thinking that Starscream is actually smart and this is all just him pulling the strings in the background to put him in a good light. (Jokes on them it’s just Starscream getting main character treatment that he doesn’t want!) He has been having chronic processor aches and Megatron has ordered him to stay clear of Starscream so he doesn’t have another breakdown. WHY DOESNT LORD MEGATRON SEE THIS IS A PLOY!? AUTOBOTS, DECEPTICONS, AND NEUTRALS ALL JOINING A CULT PRAISING STARSCREAM?!? It just reeks of a long con murder plot. Sunstorm calls him ‘The Heretic’ and now the rest of the cult does too. Prowl keeps on trying to imply that Starscream is immortal or can’t be killed in some capacity at one point, and Shockwave straight up tells him that he’s being illogical because Starscream is just Cybertronian version of a cockroach. He just keeps coming back.

basically they get together DURING THE WAR for some cross faction drama cuz theyre STUPID theyre so STUPID

so they start this romeo and juliet sort of relationship where they keep having to meet in secret to hang out

we didnt dwell too much on how this actually came to be bcuz we were thinking of this as like a real episode script for a 3 parter that would never exist and was thinking their g1 relationship would only be shown in flashbacks while it was already well underway BUT in the back of my mind i always thought it was something like: starscream makes the odd offhanded battleground sarcastic sort of flirty comment at bee and bee is like "??" and internally is like Wow thats crazy i never noticed before that starscream isnt just a huge ugly disgusting hideous mean ugly shambling beast, hes all that but also....interested in me?

i think what draws bee to starscream is that hes treated basically as the baby of the autobots, but going along with my favorite bee characterizations (g1 and the g1 mini novel story 'Joyride' where he kidnaps some delinquents and reenacts Christine and is overall really delightfully evil, ES and idw) hes kind of a jackass sometimes and not just the "sweet little bumblebee, friend to all" that everyone sees him as. I think bee finds his relationship with starscream gratifying because its rebellious and forbidden and also starscream treats him so differently from all the autobots. I also think he gets some sick pleasure from feeling morally superior to him and being able to tease and banter with him and having it always be ok no matter how far he goes because its STARSCREAM its impossible to feel sorry for him.

as for what starscream gets out of it: a scheme. clearly. LOL! I think when they first met up it was just out of curiosity and he planned to kidnap him maybe but for some reason didnt. so they kept seeing each other....and starscream was like "ok this is fine, if i build up trust with this scout maybe i can SEDUCE HIM TO OUR SIDE or take him in him as a hostage and get some brownie points w megs or take him apart and use him as scrap metal or SOMETHING"

i think a point of tension in all their little meetups is them simultaneously thinking "hes so easy to manipulate/I CAN CHANGE HIM"

I think starscream tries to pull a "i was born with glass bones and paper skin" on bee every so often but bee is too smart to fall for it lol. (basically what he did to hashtag in ES- he never learns!) but every once in a while during their talks theres..a tiiiiiny glimmer of honesty...something deeper inside past the lies and fakeass traumadumping that keeps bringing bumblebee back for more....

every time bee broaches the topic of joining the autobots it gets shot down and everytime starscream mentions him joining them bee is like "Are you out of your ever loving mind"

eventually things fall apart, as lazerbeak follows starscream out on one of their secret dates and soundwave confronts him at their spot threatens to snitch. Star is like "Wait i was just using him this entire time i actually dont feel anything for him at all but im sooo close to getting him to trust me enough that i can put on a convincing 'i wanna join the autobots' gambit pleeease dont tell megatron"............and then (dramatic sting) bumblebee was there the whole time...and heard the whole thing...........he givse ss a chance ....starscream digs his heels in and is like gah soundwave you just wasted months of work and soundwave is like ok lets just capture him. (lowkey he knows they were serious abt eachother and is using this as a way to make him choose between this bug or the decepticons) so starscream attacks bee and they capture him and in typical g1 fashion the autobots save him before 20 minutes are up but at that point all trust is LOST starbee is OVER theyre BROKEN UP AND STARSCREAM AND BUMBLEBEE HATE EACH OTHER NOW!!!!!!!!! (i think before optimus and crew showed up to the brig to bust him out starscream tried to come and talk to him when no one was looking but they got into a fight and starscream got genuinely angry that bee didnt believe this couldve TOTALLYYY BEEN AN INTENTIONAL GAMBIT...YOU SHOULDVE TRUSTED ME, so he digs his heels in even deeper and is like ITS TRUE I HATE YOU STUPID AUTOBRAT)

the war goes on. fast forward a million years. and they still havent talked extendedly since then. LOL

Starscream is shockingly responsible when handling them, making sure they're taking in enough fuel and are properly maintained. He knows how questionable the medical skills of Hook are, so he takes it upon himself to deal with any and all minor injuries that might pop up. His approach might come across as clinical to some

He makes sure they're educated properly despite the war going on. As a scientist, he enjoys teaching them about whatever interest them, showing a surprising amount of patience. But still, not as much patience as he probably should

In true Starscream fashion, he's not above manipulation and doing what he can to turn them against Megatron, or at the very least, have them loyal to him

Starscream tries his best to keep them at an arms lengths, however. He's worried about Megatron using them as leverage against him

Thundercracker is tired. He's trying so hard to keep them out of trouble but between Skywarp's antics and whatever Starscream has been putting in their head, he's got his work cut out for them

He does is best to make sure they grow up into a respectable seeker, teaching them basic manners and making sure they don't step too far out of line. The responsible caretaker, if you will

Lowkey worries constantly about them. He knows that growing up in a war can't be easy, and that living at the bottom of the ocean on an alien planet in a leaky metal tube isn't ideal for anybody. He does what he can to make sure their basic needs are met, sometimes snagging them something he thinks they might like when he's out on a mission

Skywarp is that one uncle that isn't estranged but you only see at family gatherings and is chill and funny and sometimes slips you a $20

Of the three, he seems to be taking it the least seriously. He encourages them to join him when he does his pranks, and is constantly trying to get them out of their duties

But, like Thundercracker, he knows that growing up in the current environment is hard, and he worries for them. He knows he's not the smartest and can't provide them support the way the other two can, so he takes it upon himself to try to keep them happy and content

He encourages any hobbies they might have, sneaking them supplies for whatever it is they want to do when he can

The three of them are rather rigid in their training. They make sure the sparkling is able to fly properly and hold their own in combat. They know that the sparkling joining the war effort isn't an 'if', but a 'when'

The first mission the sparkling goes on, the trine is on them like gum on a shoe. They get called out on their hovering, but it's not gonna stop them. They lowkey expect the coneheads to keep an eye out for them as well

Like Starscream, Thundercracker and Skywarp worry about Megatron using them as leverage in some way, and as such have a hard time showing open affection. It's easier for Skywarp, but Thundercracker only does it when he's sure there's nobody around and even then it's rare

Soundwave is the designated babysitter in emergencies. He hates this and has enough kids to deal with please god let him rest

Overall, they're decent caretakers if not a bit distant. They're working with what they have and hoping for the best

I stopped the last time I tried not because I didn't like it but because I'm just incredibly bad at watching TV. I either need to pay full attention or I WILL zone out/focus too hard on whatever else I'm doing and not retain anything that happened. ^^"

First episode was very funny, though, so I have high hopes. Here are some of my highlights:

I cannot get over the fact that all of the Transformers can fly by basically T-posing/Diving. It's hilarious. They should bring that back in modern shows. No jetpacks, no fliers, just sheer willpower.

Also, love Bee's Cybertronian alt-mode being basically a UFO with wheels. The wheels are killing me so much. It's like he's cosplaying a yellow UFO and I say that with all the love I have for him. xD

Can for the life of me not figure out whether Shockwave's alt-mode is a telescope or a really big stationary gun. Pretty sure it's a telescope/microscope, but a gun would be so freaking hilarious because then he'd just have been hanging out as a gun until Megatron talked to him.

Soundwave hiding as a freaking lightpole directly in front of Autobot headquarters without ANYONE noticing is also lowkey hilarious.

There's a Decepticon called Reflector. They transform into a polaroid camera. Thundercracker (I think) took a photograph with them and they printed it out.

I just looked Reflector up in the wiki to make sure I got his name right and turns out. Reflector is not one, but three guys who combine into a singular Cybertronian-sized polaroid camera. I can't. I can't. I was wondering where the other two Cons in that scene had gone to, but... Yeah. I'd never have guessed that. I'm in shambles. Pretty sure that if I started laughing I'd never stop again.

I'm pretty sure they introduced more characters than there were minutes in the episode. Really happy that I already knew a lot of them. Otherwise I'd have been so lost. Actually, I'm still kind of lost because for some I know their names but not (yet) what they look like.

80s voice-acting/television voices are something else entirely. Is the same (sometimes even worse) in my first language, though, so. Yeah. Just not used to it, I guess. It's kind of goofy, but at the same time super nice because it's so calm and regular that it's very easy to understand what everyone's saying. ^^"

Overall: really, really fun. Looking forward to the next episode. Going to write fanfic now before I got to sleep.

This definitely sounds like IDW1 Soundwave. I haven’t seen G1, but I know he’s not as loyal as people make him out to be. Cyberverse Soundwave is a bit of an odd case, but he’s not loyal to Megatron at all.

Aligned/TFP Soundwave is the most complicated. Early on in the novels, he was actively manipulating Megatron into believing he was loyal, but then Retribution got a new author who butchered his character. I die a little inside every time I have to reread parts of it for writing reference because that is Not My Soundwave.

In the show, there isn’t much to go off of, but I don’t see Soundwave being loyal to Megatron as much as I think he’s loyal to the idea that Megatron is the one and only way to bring about the Decepticon dream.

There is a difference. It’s a subtle difference, but it exists.

#and as funny as I think divorced ES Soundwave is #it's pretty clear the anger comes from Megatron so easily abandoning the cause that cybertronians have fought and died for #he's turned his back on the people who have fought and died for him #and if soundwave is the type to value loyalty of course soundwave would be PISSED

I am both dreading and looking forward to more ES Soundwave. I’ve grown tired of the whole loyal-to-Megatron thing, but I’m holding off on hoping for a really good Soundwave.

My unrealistic request to the writers of EarthSpark:

Make Soundwave dangerous to Megatron, but not necessarily oppositional. Let Soundwave take the cause in a different direction—even different than where Megatron is trying to take it.

Just…let him have more than a shred of independence and self-reliance. My enjoyment of the show depends on it.

Starwave: shut the fuck up, this can't exist..... it does? Holy fuck- uh well honestly, it seems like y'all just wanna lowkey see Soundwave DO more. Especially in TFP. Take charge and be selfish. This could also be a plot thing, as some have the HC that in TFP Soundwave is a victim of slavecoding. You just wanna be watched over by a lowkey unstoppable force and I’m here for it.

Stardown n'out/ BreakStarOut/ etc.: this ship could have multiple names and I'm upset at the gays for not coming up with something. You probably just want them all to find SOME kind of comfort with each other on the Nemesis, but some of you absolutely wanna see them all Manipulate, Girlboss, and Malewife their way outta shit.

StarShock: you bitch. You pretentious whore. I love you. They fit together really well physically given the fact that Shockwave thick as fuck and Starscream is a literal twig. I can see one-sided pining from either side with this one. Y'all just wanna be chased huh.

Bee taking charge and being his own leader and Starscream learning to be a little more positive to himself and others. ☆He was actually loyal, only to turn against Megatron for a reason

☆Instead of being borderline evil that he doesn't know how to be nice, immediately uses violence or screeching on everyone as his first action, being narcissistic, cowardly yet randomly and impulsively going traitorous for no reason....

☆....While hes still impatient and agitated easily he's more someone who's realistic about everything, cuts crap, sarcastic, perfectionist that everything has to go right and planned well, sassy, deadpans a lot, only annoyed by idiots who don't have common sense or when something goes wrong like 'wtf is happening on now', and just 100% done with everyone (especially Megatron and angsty bots)

☆And he's actually diligent, more serious, really good at making plans, does things that's best for everyone and actually means well despite being snappy, nice, down to earth, has a line he won't cross like any decent being, tough bc nothing really scares him anymore, independent, brave when coming to saving others, has a vibe where you won't ever feel awkward around him, does his job done and over efficiently and makes hilarious witty jokes

☆In easier detail, he's the wine aunt who's bad with children but cares for them and will fight for them and he's similar to Ratchet but charismatic, so a sort of mix of Ratchet and Knockout. He's already a decent leader too but he causes himself to make everyone not listen to him bc he's always betraying so instead of being like that. If he wants to be seen as a leader he would work hard for it while not being fake or anything, and keep everyone in check

☆Maybe he also has Bretman Rock vibes, idk that's the closest I could describe him to.

☆And everyone lowkey actually like him bc he's reliable, he's the first person to think of when things go wrong since he's the genius planner who can make everything to smooth again, find it easy to be around him and have good laughs bc he's lowkey funny even when he doesn't mean to--like Pewdiepie, who makes everyone laugh by acting annoyed with everything

☆The only evil thing he would do is ofc doing decepticons stuff but again if he's dreaming of becoming a leader then he would just be satisfied being the second in command while still being a good role model, like he's already super smart but just not....bright that he's both a dumbass and a genius so he could be more smarter and less reckless, like keeping things clean and perfect as he's--again, a perfectionist

☆That being all said the Decepticons would actually like him. Although he may or not have a bff relationship with Knockout like in canon bc he's more serious to his job as the commander, he'd have a more caring and healthier relationship with him, while just speaking more formally to each other. But Starscream will scare him with a warning when Knockout keeps going out to go racing instead doing his job.

☆Soundwave would also like him since he's down to earth and hilarious that he never suspects him of anything, and he does job and get everything right so he doesn't need to deal with everyone's bullshit. Instead of Star being annoying, Soundwave likes trolling him bc he likes teasing him and seeing his annoyed dramatic reactions which is amusing to him but not in any bad way

☆The two would make work related jokes in spare time since they're both the hardworking ones--and this is a headcanon I have with the original Starscream but Soundwave kind of likes how Star doesn't act awkward around him and stays normal like he's used to it and knows what he's trying to say, like in the films nearly no one knows what Soundwave wants but Star can never be seen saying 'what, what are you saying?'

☆Also Star is the closest person Soundwave has known more than anyone else in the ship other than Megatron, who also is the one mostly near him and who he can get along with without filter since he can't really hang out with Megatron despite being best friends with him and being so busy so it's another thing why Soundwave secretly appreciates him being here, he isn't as alone or bored.

☆Shockwave wouldn't mind him either, cause they would be science buddies. Star would fly around earth to discover things that could benefit the decepticons in his spare time and show it to him to discuss and examine over together, and with a brain Star would know not to get on Shockwave's bad side so he wouldn't do all the bad stuff he did to him in canon and not pay any mind to all the favor Shockwave has from Megatron. Better than arguing bc he believes he's too perfect for that.

☆Maybe Starscream could have had a background where he used to be reckless before one day Megatron completely scared him to the point he was careful from now on and was more quiet and secretive, just pretty much trauma or a wake up call so he doesn't act like that again but he still is traumatized from that very day and is wary of Megatron secretly. And he can't really speak about it either since no one would defend him since he was the one who betrayed once.

☆So like in canon, Star would feel just as afraid of Megatron except he'd feel really uncomfortable around him but he's suppressing it so he doesn't know. He feels too embarrassed to think about being fired and begging to be hired again so he just keeps in line out of Megatrons way and doing his best to keeps things perfect to avoid his wrath, and he ends up good at doing at his job so Megatron doesn't get disappointed at all

☆But unfortunately that makes Megatron show obvious signs of never letting him go even if he wanted to quit which unnerves Star so much to think of staying under him for the rest of his life, even though at least Megatron will let go of his mistakes without hurting him. Still, he hates it and dreams of being able to somehow get away from his position, finally become a ruler and save cybertron and Vos back to normal again.

☆If he were good, then maybe he actually would hope the autobots would win. But after Vos was gone with all of cybertron which completely stopped him from ever hoping again, he thinks the autobots are all talk about being good unless they manage to prove a point to him on why he should be good and why he should join them, so he would wait patiently and let them survive for them to do so and secretly hope for Megatron to die without him doing it.

☆At the end when Megatron says that decepticons are finished, he's so shocked like he's never expected him to ever realize his actions since he was there to see how far Megatron has crossed the line. Though he'd be so relieved bc it means he's finally free from working under him and everything is over, that it makes him nearly cry with all the emotions he had hide away from that day of the incident but not before quickly telling Shockwave the news and trying to find Soundwave together.

☆Also I have a headcanon that Vos is a sort of like a royal continent with aristocrats, hence why he's so graceful, formal and sassy. And seekers are nurturing too so Star would def baby over the vehicons and other decepticon workers like his own, like making sure they take their rations or go to med bay if they're feeling unwell since it can be hazardous. He wouldn't yell at them either unless they did something really wrong

☆Like if they have questions or did a mistake, he'd rather tell them not to do it again or teach them how to do the stuff they don't know than stress himself out by being mad about how others magically don't know better. And if any of them decide they want to become an autobot, he'd be disappointed but lowkey thinks it's best for them since the decepticons is a pretty bad environment so he'd just be glad they'd be safer wherever they are than here. Another reason why everyone likes him, to the point they're only in the decepticons bc of him now

☆Star is selfish bc of his pride that he believes he deserves better and can get emotionally angry when things don't go right as he wishes to go, but instead of coping like that, he'll sort of self inflict his need to be treated better to others. Like he lowkey takes it out on others by treating others better than they should be treated and being nice, to the point he even gets irrationally mad while defending someone, so he ironically treats others better than himself.

☆It's sad but it's at least a better way of him coping instead of lashing out on everyone emotionally. And everyone starts to notice and try to point it out to him, but he's too stubborn to believe it and continues acting like a dog biting and growling at their own tail in self-infliction.

☆Though there's actually a reason why Starscream is written in the way he's written, which is to sort of serve as like an opposite of Megatron, as some kind of symbol or someone to keep Megatron on his feet as Megatron had once said canonically in a comic before. But I'm sure Star could keep Megatron in check in another way.

☆Like his character and talent is said to be constantly surprising someone so he could be someone who's impressively constantly step forward than everyone else, is scarily good at being a mastermind and convincing/manipulating or has something in him that reminds Megatron to not get comfortable. Idk, just better than being 'that one who always gets abused' but I guess his original character is just as good, in the IDW that is.

WHAT I READ IN OCTOBER/NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2022:

A three-for-one, because the holidays made me so busy I didn't get much reading done at all. There's a lot of manga on here, and two different tie-in novels, which I think means I'm doing really great and more people will want to talk to me then ever before. (That's a self-deprecating joke, but also maybe Warhammer guys are friendly....It's unlikely, but you never know!)

Anyway, don't have synopses for all of these, but hopefully you can glean from the titles and my description alone if you'd be interested.

MANGA/COMICS:

Afterschool Charisma by Kumiko Suekane

The only reason I got this manga was because it literally has the exact same premise as Clone High, and I thought that was like, really funny. And it was. Definitely going for more weird estoricism and like, internally evalution of what it means to be a clone that Clone High, but fun, nontheless. Warning for insane bluntness when it comes to historical characters chosen, though.

Chainsaw Man Vol. 1-3 by Tatsuki Fujimoto

The roommate and I started watching Chainsaw Man, and loved it, and then I started getting the manga. I didn't read it as voraciously as my brother (@sillymanders) did, but I still really enjoy it. However, honestly I think if someone's gonna like this one, they're already reading it.

Transformers: Shattered Glass by Danny Lore

I love Shattered Glass as a concept, the same way I love the Mirror Universe in Star Trek. Something about a universe where morality is flip-flopped really tickles my brain. This, as what I believe is the first not "Botcon Exclusive" Shattered Glass thing was pretty good. Megatron and Starscream were the best, and Soundwave was really great, in his appearance.

Phantom of the Idol Vol. 3 by Hijiki Isoflavone

Phantom of the Idol is the best lowkey comedy I've read since Azumanga Daioh. Will everyone agree with that? No. But I love it. I've enjoyed every expansion to the cast, and the really well-mixed drama and comedy.

Yagi the Bookshop Goat by Fumi Furukawa

This was a BL featuring boys with animal ears. It was honestly pretty boring, and if I haven't sold it to HPB yet, I'm going to!

Tokyo Alien Vol. 1 by NAOE

Mmmm yummy yum I love my delicious trash. This is a shounen? Manga about a dude who joins an organization fighting aliens with his hot (male) classmate. It's not great, but I love it.

Can't Stop Cursing You Vol. 2 and 3

I've talked about this one. A pretty fun detective manga, with some decent jokes. I like it quite a bit.

NOVELS/LIGHT NOVELS:

The Case Files of Jeweler Richard Vol. 1 by Nanako Tsujimura and Utako Yukihiro

This is a pretty fun light novel about a jeweler and his hapless assistant. I enjoy it, quite a bit.

S: A Love Bite by Soki Aido

Oh, weird yaoi novels from Half Price Books, I just can't quit you. The level of drama in these is pretty fun.

Warhammer: The Daemon's Curse by Dan Abnett and Mike Lee

This book was hilarious. Every Warhammer Dark Elf is like, cartoonishly evil, in a really fun way. These books make an interesting contrast with the Drizzt novels.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Way of the Warrior by Diane Carey

Normally I don't read the ones of these that are episode-related, but I really liked this one. Garak gets a really interesting PoV in here, and his opinions on Worf are FASCINATING.

Anyway, there's my wrap-up! I really enjoyed doing these posts all of last year, so I'm definitely gonna continue them. My goal is to get better about summarizing the books, I think.

* potential kinda spoilers for Doki Doki Literature Club ahead *

So I was watching through a few gameplays for DDLC today just to get a feel for what the game's about and stuff. I gotta edit a let's play of this anyways so it's good to know these things ahead of time so I can get a better feel for what this game is about, what's important to show to the audience and what's not so I can cut it out yknow. Reference stuff. But in doing so I've come to realize two things:

one: this confirms that I reALLY don't like psychological horror games. I was actually watching the first three episodes of MatPat's gameplay of it on GTLive last night and I started to get increasingly anxious and unsettled as the game went on, so much so that I kept pushing my phone away from me as I watched it and kept glancing up at my door every once in a while half expecting to see something staring back at me in the dark like hmm yeah I probably shouldn't be watching this at night huh. It's kinda bringing back those Slenderman Incident™ vibes let's not to that. I guess I just don't like how they play with your mind and make you question everything and the characters make it out like they Know Everything About You and they can glitch and snap and grow all grotesque at any moment and the game files get all meta and like. Yeah no thank you I'll stick to Outlast and Among the Sleep and stuff. That I can handle. For,, , some reason lmao just not the psychological stuff

secondly: I also reALLY DONT LIKE FACELESS PEOPLE HHHHHNNNG this also ties back into the whole slenderman thing like. It brings back those Feelings and it's Not Fun. There's a part in the game where Natsuki's eyes and mouth suddenly disappear from her face while she's talking directly to you for an extended amount of time and it’s just really creepy and as soon as I saw that I was like hHMMMM YEAH ALRIGHT COOL YEAH NO WE'RE NOT DOING THIS NO THANK YOU. I put a sticky note over her face so I could keep watching without having to look at her but like. Yeah. Faceless HUMAN faces I can't handle. Can't look directly at them, ESPECIALLY not for an extended period of time. It's too familiar (oh boy that part's gonna be FUN to edit huh woo boy yikes)

y'know what's funny though this reminds me, back when I was first started watching through TFP, whenever Soundwave showed up I'd be kinda unnerved by him but I just could not for the life of me figure out why?? like he's not THAT stereotypically scary looking he's just a robot. It's not the visor is it I mean come on I kinda like visor-faced robot designs I think it can be kinda cute like. What's the deal here. UNTIL I finally realized he was lowkey reminding me of slenderman (no face, doesn't speak, long slender limbs, etc) and I was was like oHHHHHHH THAT'S IT! I mean I'm fine with him now, in fact soon after I figured out why he unsettled me so much the feeling went right away. I'm totally cool now like really look. He's one of my favorite characters. I have an entire protogen oc based around him for cryin out loud I think we're good here pffffftt. Again like it's faceless HUMAN faces that I don't like bc it reminds me so much of slenderman, that's just too much for me

but yeah anyways. Just some thoughts. All in all though Doki Doki Literature Club seems like it's a pretty good game! I don't think I could ever bring myself to play it considering some of the content and jumpscares and all that but. Still really neat overall! Well done Team Salvado, well done
