Mono. He is called this because of his serial number, 3020 (it's on his arm). If you write that vertically it looks like "Mono". I'm unsure of his precise backstory details right now but he is sentient (infected with the MorningChorus virus). He is a former guard of Selaphiel (evil mantis priest popstar robot) but now he protects the Archive or whatever it's going to be called, which is a sort of robot hive mind thing.

hello transformers hyperfixation, it's been awhile.
Okay, so some of y'all with me at the devil's sacrament, specially follow me for the transformers stuff.
i am so sorry to yall cause i've been dancing with pretty much every single other hyper fixation beyond that, so this one's for y'all!

this is now gonna be a significant part of my personality, cause it has me in a chokehold. I have read every single one of the 46 fics on ao3 and spent twelve hours combing through tumblr so BUCKLE IN.
For fic-ish headcanons and brainstorming ideas because this ain't a fic.....yet.

MechaPilot!Jazz, who is first generation and has done so well with a mecha, barely any body-dysmorphia due to the transition from small, quishy human to giant metal being with- while similar- different anatomy.
He's good. He's so good.
He alive too, which is a pro in this project considering what i imagine has led to a considerable body count, especially if you factor in a drift aspect of the mech.
getting your body to withstand the movement, your brain to operate a very large machine to combat efficiency, dealing with either being hooked into systems so hard you feel the pain, or don't, but you still remember the way it felt when you were stabbed, only to walk around after mission's end like nothing happened.
Jazz lives and breathes in this mech and his superiors are pleased.
However, this means that Jazz gets the experimental tech. He gets the new gadgets, the customized weapons, gear, he gets special treatment.
This, in part, is both good and bad.
The freedom Jazz gets is great. He gets his mods, his music and for starting out as an orphan without any documented education, that's pretty great for him.
On the other hand, the constant supervision at base, the medical exams, the doctors, the politicians- regardless of the paycheck, of the food, equipment, Jazz hates that the cons are so negative, but the pros really do make up for it.
His mecha is his baby.
However, all good things must come to an end. Just like Viktor was consumed by Vortex (and haunting the narrative just as surely as he was the mecha), just like Ratchet reached his limit with all the dead bodies piling up, just like how Blurr's death meant the end of Shockwave's life, just like- well.
With the ever-increasing numbers of dead, if not missing people, with the alien invasion of Earth in a precarious balance of giving and gaining ground.
Something had to be done.
Jazz had always known- the longer he'd survived, that he thrived, the more he became one with his mecha, the more he excelled, and surpassed expectations- it was always going to be him. He was the best the program had to offer, after all.
With the increased number of brass walking through the base, with the extended hours in the medical halls, with the bigger and better technology that was integrating into his baby and how Jazz's own body was made better, well.
It was only a matter of time.
He's told the program is expanding to space.
He's told it'll be him to lead the way.
An outpost on one of the moons or asteroids in the solar system.
A mecha program, beyond the confines of their own planet.
Jazz cannot refuse.
So he does as he does best.
He puts on a smile, jams out his tunes and does his absolute best to make sure First Aid knows he's the squirreliest nerd he's had the pleasure of meeting. Even if he is a bit too engrossed with the alien's anatomy in all it's gooey and tentacled glory.
Ratchet gets a phone call, some good old-fashioned teasing on his secret boyfriend he still hasn't met and a promise to drop by for a visit. One he hopes he can keep.
Sunstreaker and Sideswipe get smuggled out of the base to street race in fast cars at fast speeds and Jazz makes sure their asses are covered so they don't get caught.
Hot Rod gets Jazz's old comics, Wheeljack gets the confiscated "illegal" contraband Jazz can smuggle out (the more flammable, the better), Onslaught gets locked in a closet with Blast Off, Nightbird gets a human-size set of ninja weapons that brings a smile to his usually blank face, Swindle gets a pair of fluffy dice and Brawl is presented with a new pair of boxing gloves.
Jazz bargains for Cosmos to be brought down from his lonely space station for a week of down time, and sics Red Alert on him because Cosmos needs friends beyond Jazz and Red Alert needs someone who can keep up with him.
As Cosmos once said, nothing better to do in space then to imagine all the ways everything could go wrong.
Jazz has high hopes for the two of them.
He also takes the time to go visit Blaster, bent over his workbench as he works on his smaller, deployable drone mechas.
Eject and Rewind are powered down on their recharge pads while Steeljaw remains in several pieces, his mechanical paws carefully laid out and disassembled.
Jazz pokes around, suggests some cool feature Blaster's new project could have, such as a rhinoceros base form, because the man's already got a lion, amirite?
A dozen mecha pilots. Thirteen if you count Vortex and First Aid as two.
Expansion into space means expansion of the mecha program. Jazz isn't sure how to feel about that, but regardless longer missions in his baby can excuse a lot of unpleasantry. Especially in the name of preventing the amount of mass casualties and reshaping of landmass on the planet they're currently trying to live on.
Still, a custom shuttle, more spaceship designed for his baby then himself, an AI as a pilot, five years of supplies and material and equipment, all double checked and tripled checked is a whole lot of freedom for one guy.
The aliens deciding the moment Jazz's ship- the one he affectionately calls Cowboy Bebop- is set to launch on his first official mission to cause a mess is pretty much par for the core.
Cosmos coming in clutch, leaving Red Alert behind on his space station to assist Jazz's mission give him just enough time to send confirmation and data back to base that the aliens are entering their solar system via a giant space door.
One that Jazz falls through, riding the wave of destruction from the ships that were attempting to enter their solar system and he thanks anything or anyone that is listening that his Bebop makes it through safely, his own fragile body protected by his mecha.
Landing covertly as possible on an alien planet God knows how far from Earth is probably the most exciting and nerve-wracking thing he's done in the last decade.
Which is saying something, considering the life Jazz lives.
In the end, Jazz will label this is the best day in his entire life, all thirty two years of it, including the last eleven years of piloting his baby through all her ups and down and close calls.
You see, this day, which has led to him being launched to God knows where in the vast, unmapped corners of the universe, to another devastated planet that Jazz has no idea is even in the same galaxy, has a native people he needs- maybe?- to avoid, has a bug problem-
Had a bug investation, oh God if this is what defeat looks like Jazz can't even begin to argue with Shockwave's increasing demands and general creepiness.
Jazz is stuck and on his own, at least, until he meets Prowl.
Prowl changes everything.
Because you see- not that Jazz noticed for a good solid bit of time there- Prowl is not a human. Not only is Prowl not a human, he is NOT a pilot in a mech suit, PROWL is a MECHANICAL LIFEFORM from a MECHANICAL PLANET.
Jazz is going to forgive himself the amount of time it took for him to notice.
In hindsight, a mecha being that pretty? That expressive? The different between the two of them? Jazz should of noticed, but considering the day he's had, a bit of leeway is the least of what he deserves.
Outrunning, outmaneuvering and outsmarting the aliens- Quintessons?- to get Prowl's damaged form onboard Bebop and away to somewhere not crawling with bugs is going up there, straight up to top three moments Jazz can't believe his bullshit worked, right next to an impromptu team up with Vortex, when First Aid was definitely passed out in the pilot's seat.
(Jazz knows how Viktor piloted that mecha, very little has changed since he became Vortex)
Jazz being given directions, a translation data thing, and safe harbor with others, just like Prowl was not in the playbook but he's flying by the seat of his pants here and honestly? Since no one knows where Earth is, he can't get back and it's not like the Quintessons aren't pulling their special brand of bullshit on them as well.
So he helps out.
To the amazement, horror and confusion of everyone around him because oh, yeah.
Jazz hasn't told anyone he's a squishy, operating a shell.
Exactly like their stories of a specific boogeyman.
Nightmare fuel for their entire race.
...
He debates on telling Prowl, sometimes.
When the mech seeks him out, when he gets him to blush when Jazz teases him. When he gets in over his head and can't deny he's fallen head over heels for the second alien Jazz has ever met.
His luck is gonna run out one day.
With the weird truce and meshing of both Autobot and Decepticon troops, he can only hope- or dread- it'll be Prowl. An Autobot over a Decepticon.
Still, Jazz knows he's exactly the kinda guy to push his luck, to get a mile outta that inch he's been given and he ain't about to stop now, no matter how guilty he feels.

Heya! Hope you're doing well <3
So I have a world building question that I've been curious about for a while now, and I hope you're interested in answering; what would Cybertronian literature be like? Would they have fictional stories, or would it mostly be history texts and such?
If they did have fictional stories, I doubt they would have many, if any, romance books since they're obviously not a romantic species like humans. Would superhero stories with outliers be a thing? (Can't remember if outliers are viewed as bad or not). Would fantasy stories with like, Predacons be popular or would they be frowned upon with some mechs because of their history with them? (Looking at you, Kup and Autoway)
Hm, I wonder if stories with organic aliens would be a hit or not...
Considering how well Cybertron was doing before the war, I'd imagine their fiction stories weren't at the level and/or had the amount that are on Earth. Or would it have nothing to do with the state of Cybertron and more with that it was scoffed at?
My brain is just going wild with all the ways that this could turn out, but what I really, really want to know if they have fanfiction. Wait, would Orion write fanfiction??!! Dammit, Orion fangirling over a character has taken root in my brain

Literature on Cybertron is a curious thing. Culture varies wildly from city to city, but due to governmental influence everywhere, a large portion of the consumable literature on the datanet follows a certain structure. Information is highly controlled, and thus, only literature that supports or otherwise agrees with the government is allowed to exist on any public platform. Things that do not conform with the regulations put down are deleted immediately. Thus the literature that is deemed "safe" is often bland, preachy, or straight up propaganda. While Cybertron's population may have tolerated the Council due to a lack of fighting capability at the time, they also weren't fools. Not a spark enjoyed the aft kissing works produced by those who couldn't be bothered to be original.
Thus the underbelly of literature came into being, a hidden series of trade networks and secret websites created to keep the quality writing safe from the Council. Most of the hidden works consisted of data from all over the planet, the things that the Council kept hidden. Police reports, body cam videos, documents, records, trade reports, incident reports, historical documents struck from the records, information on mecha who "vanished", and so much more. Everything one could ever want information was was down there in the dark parts of the datanet. Such things always came with a price attached.
If one wanted data, it needed to be paid for. Shanix was too easy to track, and so instead information was traded. Data for data, knowledge for knowledge. It was in the darker parts of the datanet that the Archives collected much of their... more confidential information. Alpha Trion never tolerated the loss of critical information and there were whole groups under his control dedicated to collecting what he wanted from those who possessed the knowledge. There were entire wars online when it came to data, some that even resulted in doxing and death. The world was dangerous, and with the Council hunting for any and all information, literature was a prized resource reserved for those with the ability to trade for it. Orion and Soundwave both were very well oriented with the trading performed on the datanet. They were well known under their online tags and both maintained very active information broking circles up until the war began. Even then, both managed to keep weaseling data out of their sources up until Cybertron went dark.
Then of course there was the less professional corners of the darker parts of the datanet. Works of fiction were by no means unusual, but they were only produced by mecha with certain... tastes. Most were not lacking in imagination, but rather the ability to make their visions legible. The ability to properly produce a work of fiction was, more often than not, difficult for the average mech to do. Most works of fiction came from the middle castes or the upper lower castes. Higher caste bots were not allowed to write anything serious for fear of backlash, and the lower castes simply did not have the time more often than not. As such, only the highly biased middle castes had any ability to produce fiction at all.
Sci-fi did not exist as a genre, for quite obvious reasons. More often than not, what fiction came into being tended to fall into several categories which matched the desires of the middle castes. Courtly drama was a world renown and beloved genre. Every mech ran into a work in the genre at least once, and the themes usually revolved around the main character either climbing the social ladder to get into the higher castes or somehow evading their hold to achieve something. It was wish fulfillment at its finest, but the middle castes adored the genre as it satisfied the desires they had. Ratchet wrote one surprisingly well performing novel about climbing the ladder to become CMO. It was based off his own experiences, and while not exactly popular, medics everywhere all universally knew of his novel, although not a spark knew he wrote it.
The second biggest genre was rather specific, and it happened to be the caste change genre. Every bot wished they were something else for the most part. As such, there was a plethora of documents that focused around a mech from one caste either moving up or down the chain and having to adapt to the new way of life. The cultural differences around Cybertron played their part in the caste change genre as mecha from all over the planet learned from and wrote their novels. Many serious misconceptions came from the novels of that type, but it tended to create a sense of tolerance amongst the population more often than not. Even still, there were more than a few crimes committed due to rather ridiculous misunderstandings regarding local culture from individuals who only learned from novels. While not common knowledge, Starscream wrote an incredibly well received novel with completely made up cultural norms for Vos that were so widely accepted that grounders everywhere got arrested en mass until the government stepped in. Starscream has yet to stop finding it amusing.
The third most popular genre was the only one the lower castes could feasibly relate to, and it happened to be about police and murder mystery. The stories had no set formula, unlike the prior two popular genres. However they almost always involved the main character eliminating some scum of the Earth, uncovering a deep dark secret, or putting an end to a horrific criminal underworld. It was pure wish fulfillment from middle caste mecha who knew just enough to want to change things, but didn't have the guts to actually go out and take a stand. Jazz wrote his fair share of novels relating to the subject, one of which became so popular that he ended up changing his identity twice and faked his death once in order to escape any connection to it. He didn't learn until vorns later that his novel, which was based on a real mystery, had actually solved a well covered Council kept secret.
Lastly there was the religiously oriented works of fiction. The genre itself was incredibly niche due to the differing beliefs and delicate nature of faith on Cybertron. But the few who wrote for the subject were masters of their craft. Usually they were artist renditions of old tales, retellings of myth and legend, or even fictional takes on the lives of old Primes. Highly heretical in nature, very few stepped into the genre of Primacy related anything. The Council was always on the lookout for such novels, and thus those who wrote them were far more likely to vanish under mysterious circumstances. What novels were written often didn't last long. The only three novels that made it out alive amidst the harsh censoring happened to be a set of novels written by Orion Pax in collaboration with Senator Shockwave and a novel done by none other than D-16 himself. The three novels all showed urban legends and tales from all three castes and were beloved globally, even if every physical copy was destroyed on sight.
Orion, and later Optimus Prime largely forgot about his written work. Unbeknownst to him, Megatron has kept a copy of his work and the two other novels. He has no clue Optimus and Shockwave wrote them, but he adores them and have lovingly gone into English teacher mode more times than one could count to find the deeper meaning behind everything. Humanity's love for 1984, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Dante's Inferno is the level of adoration Megatron holds for the three novels on his shelf.
There were other stories of course. Fantasy novels set far into Cybertron's distant past made purely off imagination and globally mocked by those who lived long enough to see the early days of Cybertron. A genre akin to Romance that focused on companionship and starcrossed designs put in place by Primus. Strange tales made by those on Colony worlds going into depth on organics and their cultures. Heroic stories focusing around Primus's chosen and champions of the people. Underdog tales with Outliers coming out of hiding or breaking their bonds to be free and express themselves as they saw fit...
The stories were diverse, but all were hidden. Every mech read them, but none spoke of them aloud. Literature was the quiet universal culture of Cybertron prior to the war.

Were Ruby's group justified in lie to Ironwood?
I'm back.
Look, this is a controversial and divisive topic. I'm not even sure how to start.
What was hidden, why, and when was it planned to be revealed?
Well, what was hidden was about Ozpin. Why he disappeared and about Salem's immortality.
The reason they hid information is stated by themselves:
"We're really not gonna tell Ironwood about what happened to Oz? What we learned about Jinn? About Salem?"
"We will. But you saw how things looked when we flew into Atlas."
"The General's heart seems to be in the right place, but that doesn't mean we should trust him yet."
"We need to play along for a while before we make any major decisions."
They didn't like the situation in the kingdom, and they don't know if they really should trust Ironwood. It's not known when they planned to reveal it, it's only known that they were sure to reveal it… someday.
2. Was it different from what Ozpin did?
Well… It's complicated. I've seen people defend Ruby's group by saying that they were at least letting Ironwood prove himself, which is more than what Ozpin has done.
However, just because this is better than what Ozpin has done doesn't make it right.
IMHO, I do think it's different from what Ozpin was doing. Ozpin planned to never tell them the truth. With Ruby's group, at least they're claiming that they'll tell the truth eventually.
"Ruby, Oz only trusted himself with the whole truth. You're trusting others, but you're making sure they prove themselves first. I think that's a pretty big difference."
The problem comes with them waiting a while before telling the truth. How much time passes between episode 4 (Pomp and circumstance) and 5 (Sparks) of volume 7? How much longer did they plan to hide the truth from James? Because they did tell him the truth in the end, but he had to tell the truth to Robyn and the council to fully gain Ruby's group's trust. If Ironwood didn't do that, would they have kept the truth from him indefinitely?
3. Maybe they were distrustful because they were let down by authority figures in the past.
Well, if we're being frank, they never really say that's the reason they didn't trust Ironwood.
"We're sorry we kept it from you, too. We didn't know who to trust."
That's what Oscar says.
Also, really, who were the authority figures who let them down? Leonardo, okay, he worked for Salem. Ozpin who was hiding the truth from them all this time. Cordovin didn't let them cross the border, then she made a scandal with her mecha, on top of that, she's racist.
Then there's Qrow… Who isn't even an authority figure. And while his alcoholism is a bad thing, it's not like he let them down either. I mean, he stood by them all the time, he got depressed and decayed, but at the end of the day he's been protecting them and guiding them.
There's Raven. I don't know if I should count her, I mean, she was one of Ozpin's antagonist all the time.
So… They weren't really let down by many authority figures.
4. Telling the truth is a very serious thing
I want you to know that telling the truth is very important. Therefore, it's normal for the kids to be afraid to tell the truth.
When they arrived they saw an impoverished Mantle, turned into a police state. On top of that, the city had few defenses.
"Look around. The embargo, the military presence, the restrictions on assembly. He's a bit prone to overreacting."
You could say that Ironwood is justified in his actions. The embargo is to prevent Salem from infiltrating Atlas. The military presence is to protect the people. And the assembly restrictions are to prevent people from being attacked by Grimm. Even the lack of protection of Mantle is because he prioritizes Atlas over Mantle, and Atlas is the capital, the head of the kingdom, and where the academy and the relic are placed. Is Ironwood really overreacting, or is he just being careful?
Still, that doesn't take away from the fact that his actions are affecting Mantle. They don't know if Ironwood will increase Mantle's burdens even more if he knows the truth. He's already made sacrifices. 5. Hiding the truth is a dangerous thing
Look, I'll just get one thing straight. Amity's plan isn't a bad plan even considering Salem is immortal. Reestablishing global communications is already a good thing because, well, it helps Remnant: It restores trade and all that. Not to mention that it allows the world to unite, which is also a good thing. Even if Ironwood knew the truth, he would still continue with Amity's plan. There are those who say that he would just drop the embargo and border closure which would end Mantle suffering. However, he would continue with both since Amity's plan is still necessary. Salem wins by dividing the population. With Amity, mankind can be unified. Yes, Salem may not be killed, however, but if there is a chance of defeating her, it will be with humanity united.
That aside. I mean, certainly telling the truth would allow everyone to make a better plan for Salem. They could devote more military resources to a plan to contain her instead of spending resources on a plan that seeks to kill her.
6. Does Ironwood know more than them because he's more experienced?
One thing I read was that if they're not willing to make sacrifices, then they should retreat. This is a war, after all.
However, consider that everyone believes that what they do is right. How are they supposed to believe that sacrifices are necessary? They obviously believe that what they do is right. One assumes that if one believe in something, it's because that something is right.
They're young, obviously they're going to believe that there are sacrifices that shouldn't be made. If so, why would they assume that "Ironwood knows best"? Most of them are already adults. Do they really have to assume that Ironwood knows what is right just because he has more experience? Qrow is also experienced and yet, he supported them in hiding the truth from Ironwood. 7. About hypocrisies and contradictions.
" I am so sick of secrets! If we just told everyone about Amity, about Salem--"
Nora says she is sick of secrets. However, she has no problem with keeping secrets from Ironwood.
"Everybody thinks what they're doing is right, but usually, they're just looking out for themselves and their secrets."
She was obviously referring to Ozpin, even if Winter didn't know it. Anyway, she is also being hypocritical, she criticizes Ozpin when she is also keeping secrets.
8. Some changes.
Personally, I would have liked the characters to argue a lot more. To see the point of view of Jaune, Ren and Nora as well. It would have even been interesting if they had formed 2 groups: Some would be in favor of telling him and others would be against it. Oscar, Yang and Ren would be part of the first group, and the rest would be part of the second.
You know, more variety of opinions and all.
9. Conclusions.
Look, I think the right thing to do would have been to tell the truth. However, I think they had reasons for not telling the truth.
Nevertheless I think, first and foremost, they ultimately had to feel guilty for what they did. To apologize together, yes, even Weiss and Nora. The only one who had the decency to apologize was Oscar.
I wish there were more consequences for their actions. Sure, Ironwood lost trust in them, but we as viewers are supposed to consider Ironwood to be wrong. Plus, even if they didn't lie to Ironwood, he would have arrested them anyway.
Ironwood trusted in them and he received distrust from them.

Am I a fan?: I like that he exists in the game but I never really give him much of a second thought.

Changes I would make?: Fix that boy's posture
Unpopular opinion: His whole big announcement of 'holy shit that guy we said was too large for Smash is now in Smash' compared to how much of an afterthought he is in my eyes makes me think he probably should've just stayed as a boss, although I don't know if there are bosses in Ultimate (sorry to all of the Ridley people, I'm obsessed with the wrestle-cat, my opinion is already very invalid)
MARIE ROSE
Am I a fan?: Not of her general existence.
Favorite move: That one hip attack move that she definitely doesn't deserve to have but it's really fun to pull off.
Favorite quote: A tie between "Die!" (damn girl ok) and "Don't look down on me just because I'm little! (that is BM as hell and that's fun for me, you just got Marie Rose'd, get Systema'd idiot)
Favorite storyline/ending: Genuinely couldn't tell you, if she does have any sort of banger moment I'd love to be told about it.
Enjoy Playing As?: During the one time I did play as her, yeah. Also upon looking at her movelist her whole kit does look sick. (Grammarly autocorrected movelist to novelist wtf stop making me look lame)
Changes I would make?: Give her some of Mila's moveset, it's a damn shame that DOA makes a shooter lady and everybody in DOA's target audience is like "ehhhhhhh."
Unpopular opinion: I don't know if it's unpopular to say that she kinda just feels pointless as a character, but every character that Hip Attacks is automatically 'okay' at the least.

so then i guess we keep doing the same thing we've been doing up until now for tmr for tmre and we don't really count daisuke for now at least? in that case gekkoh tmr definitely has anger issues like heat capacity but he's not as much of a dick about it he apologizes and stops when he crosses the line
he's just that kind of person you know he tells other people off for things he does as well he's kind of a jerk boarding and invoke are so accurate damn 😭😭😭

We can count Daisuke only for the TMR-e thing </3 he can just be a cool little fighting side character or or something. I’d say Kageroh is the equivalent of the thousand yard stare and can’t show that much emotion at the moment. Ur so right with Gekkoh having anger issues but feeling sorry for having outbursts, it fits with the tone of the music video so badly. Winter dust is def more elegant and way more calmer than the both, like he’s enlightened or something. Black or White 3 is the exact opposite, he’s loud, annoying and likes destroying stuff.
Talking bout Boarding, Brigade would be more joyous and maybe have a cool mecha outfit. Maybe he even has a dino sona (TMR made Brigade for the Dinosaur movie by Disney so it makes sense) Juggling might be really cocky or really sassy, he would have the outfit in the cover for out of orbit. Pied Piper, acrually idk what Pied Piper would be but he would be villainous. Goin might just be a really joyous dude who motivates people a lot idk. I don’t know what their outfits would be </3
